1000 reservists ahead of a possible ground invasion of the territory it all started on monday when hamas militants in the gaza strip fired rockets toward jerusalem hundreds of palestinians were hurt in clashes with israeli police and religious sites israel's prime minister benjamin netanyahu says they will continue its campaign against hamas in gaza for as long as necessary as citizens of israel you're dealing with a campaign on 2 fronts the 1st gaza i said that we would have struck a very heavy price for them us and the other terrorist organizations we are doing so and we will continue to do so with great. meantime thousands of muslims led by activists from an islamic political party demonstrated in bangladesh's capital on friday to denounce israel's counter attacks on gaza oh my god we demand answers from the united nations and the organization of islamic cooperation about why are they still silent united nations protest and even at the death of hundreds of

people are dying children are dying or people are not getting any food or any of their being killed during their prayers people are being tortured and fired upon. and there is division within the democrat party progressives are siding with palestine while others are standing by israel joining us to discuss this conflict and the u.s. intervention or lack thereof of john joram political commentator and former naval intelligence officer and michael maloof former pentagon official gentlemen thank you so much for joining us. thank you good to be here in addition. so john i want to start with you what's your take on the attacks happening and do you see any possible resolutions in the near future without any intervention from other countries. well the by did ministration is really the one that kind of responsible for this. in the under president probably they were too big losers under. america's foreign policy in the middle east moscow and iran with the
9:32 pm
maximum pressure economic campaign iran's activities maligned activities in the region were constrained since taking office the biden astray she has released upwards of 6000000000 dollars to the iranian regime now why would the iranians do this while frankly the dynamic over the last during the trip administration the middle east has been where it's becoming it's no longer so much about the arab israeli conflict or the palestinian question it's everybody versus it's iran versus everybody else and iran desperately needed to change the dynamic and have it revert back to the palestinian issue becoming coming to the forefront because that creates pull internal political pressure inside these arab countries and force them to back away from israel so iran wanted to make sure that hamas was in a position to put to attack israel so israel would counterattack and we'd have this type of conflict and as a result. the emphasis on iran would be iran would be deemphasized as the focal
9:33 pm
point and center of gravity of the middle east basically taking us back to where we were 20 years ago. interesting and michael a hamas spokesman was quoted as saying the decision said bob in tel aviv and jerusalem it's easier for us clean water does that statement give us any insight as to how the how hamas is operating. well i think hamas fell into the trap i would agree with john on certain aspects but i also want to look at what's precipitated this from a different perspective i think this plaited a netanyahu who is trying desperately to retain political power as prime minister and it happened right after when you look at the timeline here these attacks on. trying to move settlers out of east jerusalem occurred just as he had lost the ability to form a new government and law. his opponent was asked to to form
9:34 pm
a government and. hamas just fell right into his trap. for many in. the. beginning to launch rockets just as he. threw in smoke grenades and tear gas into the. so this is and this again is all for netanyahu to retain power and and as a result has had to suspend trying to form a new government as a result and this could go one indefinitely particularly if netanyahu wants to declare a national emergency and look at iran. precipitate this because it is it is looked upon as a. something instigated by iran alternately in terms of financing and providing the just tickle support to hamas. john should the u.s. intervene in this fight and are you surprised that the division among democrats
9:35 pm
even of the us is supposed to be one of israel's greatest friends. absolutely united states should not intervene in this the united states should go back to the maximum pressure campaign on iran and renew the world's focus on iran as the primary the prime mover of malignant activity in the middle east and that's a dynamic which is ultimately resulting in peace multiple arab countries signing peace agreements with making peace with israel we need to get back to the real problem here and that is iran and peace between arabs and israelis will will necessarily result if not by choice by necessity now inside the united states there are it's ironic inside the democrat party modern progressive are very sympathetic rabidly so supportive of the palestinian cause no palestinian access is too much for them at the same time historically american jews have been very. very been
9:36 pm
their allegiance been almost entirely to the democrat party and have many have deep deep feelings most have deep feelings for the state of israel so this is yet another tension point. breaking out inside the democrat coalition there's other ones that deal with us domestic politics right now but here you have a lot of younger more strident progressives dealing with their opposition to bedrock who who are part of the demo historically a core part of the democrat coalition and that's american jews. interests and michael do you see the u.s. taking a side here as israel is one of our allies and do you see this being an issue for bite at. all i think the suggest test test the biden administration i think it's a bit there now don't care what the by the administration attempts to do at this point it's not in control and i think it would be very difficult for biden administration to do anything it's netanyahu who is calling the shots on this and
9:37 pm
if he feels that you know that the biden ministration is going to try to come to terms on the j c p a way of the nuclear agreement with iran and it's and is edging closer to terms it's going to be all the more reason for netanyahu to increase that pressure even even so far as going to not tense the iranian nuclear site if need be in order to keep this going against the whole idea is for him to try and retain power and keep keep on as prime minister indefinitely because once he's no longer prime minister he gets indicted. john do you have any response to michael's just last statement. it's ironic actually michael that i find ourselves in a grove of vigor a lot of agreement today where this is going to end up where this can end up in the tashi is potentially really really dangerous this spins out of control israel may feel backed into a corner and may have may feel that it needs to launch a preemptive strike it's. it got
9:38 pm
a lot of iran's nuclear facilities if it feels that the united states and the west have abandoned it furthermore you may have saudi arabia a lot of the gulf states feel that the united states has backed out of the commitment to protect arabs and israelis alike against iran iranian threat and may ultimately feel the need to develop their own nuclear weapons so what you may end up here because of the fecklessness and the bipolar nature of the confusion of the by the mystery you may end up with a broader war in the middle east perhaps preceded by a nuclear arms race so i can only urge the biden astray should please you know put politics aside returns to what worked return to the strategies which brought us the abraham accords that is the only way to prevent a broader war in the middle east and you know what president biden if you do that perhaps that nobel prize could be yours. great advice thank you so much john george michael maloof great friends of the show thank you so much for your time and insight. thank you. as meat alternatives
9:39 pm
are gaining popularity should we be worried about what's actually in them and possible foods known for its plant based meat some of the toots has announced they have secured child nutrition labels for its impossible burger products that's in fact against the company closer to their goal of entering the k. through 12 market by this coming fall well back to terry and weekends alike can still be healthy are processed meat alternatives really the answer joining us now to weigh in on the matter of ben swan investigative journalist and co-host of archies a boom bust thanks for joining us ben. and i'm glad to be here in such a thank you. now you're a father and i'm sure you and your wife care about what you feed your children and food science has certainly come a long way since we were kids people are more aware of things like g m o's and other harmful ingredients would you be concerned if schools were feeding this to your children. yeah i would for a couple of reasons you know. the burger is an interesting idea it's not really
9:40 pm
marketed towards the greens or vegetarians it's actually marketed toward people who currently eat meat as a healthier alternative the problem is it's not really healthier if you're looking at the calorie count for a possible burger versus a regular beef burger of the same size the calories are about the same there are $270.00 calories so it's about the same the difference is really in terms of sodium that's the biggest difference between the 2 because the impossible burger has about $370.00 milligrams of sodium and for the average person is only supposed to be $1500.00 in a full day so it's much much higher whereas in a traditional beef burger sodium is really not part of the original equation to be added later but when you make a hamburger or a beef burger you don't have sodium in there and remember sodium is a huge part of the obesity epidemic that we're facing in this country so i think there is a big issue here in terms of childhood obesity we're supposed to be working to get away from that and this is not helping that cause. share and i mean there's sodium
9:41 pm
in almost anything that's package that's a great point now it's reports have surfaced where people got sick from eating this way based on possible burger it sounds healthy because you know some people say bad things about me to me at last but it's made in a lab and modified so when do you think schools should do more research before adding the impossible burger onto their menu no. i definitely think they should look like a huge issue but you just brought up the other major issue that surrounds the impossible burger and i held back this answer and still this question right and that is the issue of g m o's there is a genetically modified form of i yearn that has been placed into the impossible burger it's what gets country kids are sitting in front of screens more often and there are more packaged processed foods now than ever before do you think these habits start at home are picked up at school a result of culture or all of the above. i think it's all of the above and i think one. that's important here this is becoming
9:42 pm
a cultural issue of meat this issue of beef right you have people like bill gates who go around saying we should eliminate beef eating and we should have all these beef substitutes that should take their place in the marketplace and remember the whole point of it is not being stated because we're being told this is better for us or healthier for kids with there's no evidence that it is what we're being told is it's better for the planet because there's fewer calories on the planet and fewer cattle and that reduces greenhouse gases here's the problem is that the impossible berger and these others meat substitutes actually generate enormous amounts of carbon on their own so there is no evidence so far to indicate that that would actually even cut the greenhouse emissions being caused supposedly by cattle this doesn't necessarily look like a better alternative so on all fronts it looks like this is something we could look back on and say this was a very bad decision at a certain time in history but mandating it into schools which is where i think it's going i think would be highly problematic. yeah certainly i thank you so much ben
9:43 pm

welcome back would be even unfair if he has an array of health benefits patients claim they have been able to manage their line disease chronic inflammation and other diseases i simply gain stung by a honeybee is that too good to be true or is there simply no money in it for any pharmaceutical industry doctor was halter a biologist and wildlife expert joins me now to discuss who is also the author of the and comparable thanks so much for joining us dr race. my pleasure look at the bees are wonderful and actually you probably heard this name and it works fighting fire with fire right so this scene. is got a lot of punch obviously and but what it does it's got this thing called melatonin which is got lots of building blocks for proteins and what it does is it brings the glides into the area and it also facilitates the nerve transmission so
9:47 pm
if your view got this bacteria in you. it is a hell of an add tito it's exciting and now will it be mainstream probably not but using available everywhere you better bet and university of new haven bunch of researchers there and showing that it's the real deal. so so what is your particular take on the bee venom therapy where people are actually stinging themselves. well look whatever works and he hears that most of us and i'm an old guy so most of us old guys we got paid and whatever works works whether it's the phantom which does which has been shown for arthritis. and even multiple sclerosis for people who are. suffering if it's giving them some relieved or whether it's surface not me i use
9:48 pm
a bunch of different products or whatever word some people are in a pharmacy of pharmaceutical drugs or painkillers good for you. for the b.s. . and now for some reason there's a lot of controversy surrounding lyme disease you know it's not easily detected i'm told and there are a lot of options for treatment since again many times it is not diagnosed and so i spoke with the woman who told me she was spending thousands of dollars a month on various treatments but now she and her husband purchase live b.s. for about $20.00 a month singing themselves on a routine basis and they say they've never felt better so do you think this would be something for pharmaceutical companies to potentially in aston or would it be something they wanted want to promote since the natural source of treatment would mean no money for that. oh look i think. it's a case by case basis because you probably know some people have an
9:49 pm
a flag tick reactions with a sting and unless they get their epi pen there they're done so you know. it's whatever really works i think an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure that unused for the people bag a westerner of course of course a mountain boy but for the people back east even when i go bush. i roll my socks over my pants i use a bunch of different essential oil secure nala is a good one peppermint seed or. others and i make sure it's on my clothes and then when i get in i check for to write a lot of people are checking for tips and if you see a red rash you probably have got a. go go to your doctor and see if they end run the test
9:50 pm
lineman. i hope you don't but lyme disease is very prevalent as you know. in our nation and elsewhere. and lastly dr you say i want to quickly ask you what compelled you to write your book the and comparable how to be and they economics of pollination oh the look yellow card so you're glad that you as our food we are caught. you are close to the honey bee in particular $20000.00 kinds of honey bee is the einstein of the world these creatures could be the need 8 hours sleep like us that you learn while they they're asleep in a dream date your child they can recognize a human face they're so damn smart. and and i studied the smart creatures so the beast is are the bomb for me and i recommend anybody who wants to get

a roll go of it go to the the end culpable. well thank you so much dr his halter biologist and wildlife expert we really appreciate your time. well there's never a dull moment in the world and media and joining us now is our very own steve malzberg the host of meet the press which airs next at 6 30 pm eastern time right here on our team america always great to have you on steve thanks for joining us. great to be an adult should thank you. so steve a couple of items before we get to what's coming up on your show tonight on wednesday island generous confirmed that she will be ending her talk show ellen she claims that after 20 years it's no longer challenging enough but many suspect there is a lot more to it what do you think scene. well yeah i think this would have been or 20th year when she's a good. so it's going to be 19 in the books and she insists that it's just not
9:52 pm
challenging anymore she does confess that she was really affected she said she was blindsided by the accusations from former employees former staff members of her show that claim that there was a culture a toxic culture on the set of ellen and that involved racism and. kinds of. behind the scenes antics that they couldn't put up with now i should know nobody accused ellen herself of any of these things but it had an effect ratings have been down and it was very debilitating demoralizing for her she admits that. you know you have to think that it does play into it not wanting to do it anymore even though she vehemently denies it and she does by the way say that she thinks the whole thing smells of smells a little massaging this stick if you will so she's playing the victim with all the accusations being leveled against her as well. well and on tuesday political and fungus that all of the bite administration choir's journalists who use on the
9:53 pm
record quotes from initiation officials to get those quotes approved by the white house before they can be used in a story so what's that about and i'm wondering do they even know what a real deadline means because a lot of times we don't always get a call back. right that's true well now we do know what joe biden does in his basement i guess he goes over all these quotes anybody who interviews any journalist who interviews it in ministration official and wants to use the quote from that official in their story has to 1st said the quote to the white house and they have to approve it or not i it or change it and then the journalists could run it if they wanted afterwards change now this is not unique to the biden white house we're told other other guy administrations the obama administration did it to a lesser extent the trump administration but the journalists are really. picked off about how the biden ministration in their view that in the view of many journalists is abusing this procedure and they don't like it one bit so we'll see if this ever
9:54 pm
comes to a head although i wouldn't hold my breath. for very interesting and worth of course we love hearing your insight what you have coming up on meet the press. well 1st we start off with a heather macdonald she's with the manhattan institute she's the author of the war on cops and i have a clip from what she's going to tell us here she is talking about police and you know we've heard so much from the media about how the police go out hunting black men specifically which is certainly not true ok i understand we don't have the clip but heather is of the opinion and i agree with her as a former new york city p.d. a man of the year myself that there's no government organization that cares more that and says more that black lives matter because they're putting themselves in harm's way every day very often in minority communities to save black lives you know they go where the crime is and that's why you see confrontations and in
9:55 pm
certain communities because that's where there is the most crime so it's good it's very interesting with heather i also spoke with nicholas wade a science writer formerly of the new york times who asked the question how did the pandemic start did it start from a bat did it start in the lab what role did dr found she have any play i think you get to find all that very interesting on the show i also talk about the unfair media coverage that israel faces not only during this conflict with the terrorist group hamas but every single time this occurs every time they do anything the media is against israel and i point out a great example with footage and commentary from the media to make my point so it's a good show stick around folks said right after an anti-ship sign so often you'll see the press. over cell. you keep the media accountable steve because i don't think anyone else says thank you so much that steve malzberg for us thanks to our

i think the average viewer just after watching a couple of segments understands that we're telling stories there are critics can't tell me you know why because their advertisers won't let them. in order to create change you have to be honest you have to tell the truth art she's able to do that every story is built on going after the back story to what's really happening out there so the american what's happening when a corporation makes a pharmaceutical the chills people when a company in the environmental business ends up polluting a river that causes cancer and other illnesses they put all the health risk all the dangers out to the american public those are stories that we tell every week and you know what they're working.
