911 shooting that took place. mike this is the latest killing of an unarmed black man in our country which you which occurred in the early morning hours of last wednesday april 21st when isaiah brown who is a 32 year old male called for assistance because his car was broken down deputy same deputy actually gave him a ride home another call was made for more assistance because he was able to get another vehicle the deputy showed up mistook a cordless phone for a handgun and shot him when he was unarmed what we believe was 10 times with 10 bullets still remaining in his body and i'd say it brown is in intensive care right now fighting for his life this was a terrible breakdown with communication between despair not for a tease out the phone a little bit i had what he had a phone in his hand right left and left right hand and he has the phone holding it up to the to the police officers that ryder fill that in a little bit more because it's not really clear that's exactly right what happened

was he was in the home he placed a note on 11 call using a cordless house he remained on the phone with 911 dispatch the entire time he informed dispatch that he did not have a weapon he did not have a gun and then he was outside on the road with the phone at that time you could hear the sirens coming approaching from on the audio and the dispatch instructs him to hold his hands up because he had the phone in his hand which he did so he was following orders the deputy apparently been arriving on scene immediately jump to the conclusion that this must be a handgun which was on still an open line with 911 and he yelled commands at him and then unloaded a service weapon on i say around well what was most from the body can footage that would reveal about the shooting and what action is or what what i say are from because you're my law partner i want to disclose that what do we take in to hold this police officer accountable is there some is there some standard that he

obviously violated tell me what tell me what your take is on that. exactly there are multiple police standards that have been violated here which will we're pursuing we're also calling on our other sheriff's office and special prosecutor to release any additional audio at this time it's unclear if there is one or 2 dispatchers and if only certain audio has been released we also the matters be reviewed by a special prosecutor for criminal charges we're asking that criminal charges be brought against this deputy will be filing a freedom of information act request immediately this week for the other not 11 audiotape the body cam footage is very poor you can't really see anything we need to know if there's dash cam footage and of course and we will be you know our investigation and likely filing a civil rights suit on behalf of mr brown let me ask you this is there just an issue about training i mean look my memory of my memory of this when i read the

facts was that the officer who was heard on the body came saying where's his gun where's his gun what's the what's your take on that i mean he obviously believed there was a gun there what what what is that about yes and and there that appears to be a breakdown in communication between 911 dispatch and the deputy full 90 seconds before. mr brown had informed. just asked that he did not have a gun did not have a weapon and we believe there was a failure of communication between the dispatcher and the officer it also may have been this one dispatch lady was trying to handle communications between mr brown and the officer at the same time which was simply too much also the officer made errors when he arrived on scene sure what he's going to call for backup and there are a number of police tactical errors that he made as well saying like the officer could his taken refuge behind his car or this protection if you thought the man had a gun but anyway we'll see how this develops david thank you for joining me ok.

bleeding among patients per absolute permanent injury i've got robert price with me is one of the lawyers that made all that happen has been involved with case for a long time robert tell us about this litigation but phillis him about what this is about what is the case about why the settlement. and what's ahead of us thanks for having me on mike so the bosses scientific settlement was a subtle one about the pelvic mass products which were products that were implanted in women to treat incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse and things like that you were in that case you have been working in that case and many other manufacturers for over 10 years and especially this this was a subtle known behalf of a.g.s. around the country that found that boston scientific had misled consumers misled doctors about the true risks associated with the device and ok so give us a recap on what you're doing run know what we're doing now as we see a lot of these same manufacturers did the pelvic measures also have done hernia

meshes for many years and it's the same byproduct the same synthetic plastic polymer used to repair her knee is as well as the pelvic organ issues as we just talked about as well what you tell you about the material that the thing that struck me is when you discovered that they were using non-medical grade material talk about there is a non other reason fishing line basically this old inefficient store and talk about absolutely absolute was uncovered in trials a few years ago and we're working up the back story even even deeper what some companies do not necessarily all of them but several companies do this is they use a non-medical grade by product so literally just bottom shelf not approved for human usage type stuff it breaks down it degrades it actually says not a pew approved for human use right the stuff that you get from the factory actually comes with a warning this is do not use this in the human body but they use it anyway use it anyway and what we're also discovering mike is that they are coming up with

different essentially shell companies to run this stuff through so people don't know any better that's another what do you mean by that they're setting up shell companies they're moving from the manufacturer of the of the material moving through a shell company and then moving to the people who create the mesh product right there are trying to wash the information absolutely absolutely ok so is this. goes far as this goes forward we're talking about a hernia mesh what kind of injury does it cause what what should be people what should people be aware of so so a lot of these products have these gimmicky coatings and things like that on them and what we're seeing is the coating breaks down too soon it doesn't work correctly and these meshes actually they they adhere to people's organs they'll blow out too soon they'll fail catastrophic injuries like yours internal bleeding said organ and there's a material migrate through their system after it blows out it can it absolutely can it can blow out it can move over and then you can have some of the chemical leeching the goes on with this really low grade stuff high inflammatory responses

that cause problems and things like robert one of the thing that struck me is this is a procedure that's not even necessary because a doctor that's trained without mesh can create he can fix or hernia without any of this garbage dry or last time so industry came in and said look you need this because you're a doctor who's not a specialist in fixing hernias but now you can increase your practice if you'll use our material is that kind of the scenario here and that's right we call it we call the gimmick meshes which is they go to a doctor and say yeah you know we know this hernias real small and it would take you 203040 minutes to do this but it'll take you 5 minutes with this easy patch they think that you know the doctors a lot and they think it's f.d.a. approved they think it's been studied when it really hasn't been a lot of times unnecessary doctors don't need to do it but it happens because they sold them a bill of goods and it's that turned out the truth is is unveiled many years later

a couple more years and in the course of the discovery here they realize they will hold up not only did you collude to keep generics off the market you also kind of colluded to raise your prices by 800 percent galloping consumers instead of you know a couple dollars per pill to over $40.00 per pill and you the judge told him last week said you do realize you can have to go in front of a jury and you're going to have to explain to them why you did that and that's not going to help you know i don't do this very often i just cracked up when i read the the fence lawyers for these companies this guy is left of his name's levy l.-e. i.v. blad ok left blab he says well there is no antitrust taking place here judge this is just good faith deep business dealing among friends with the other lawyer another defense lawyer says judge we just raised the price 800 percent because we
