with political message is then as thereby johnny officials blocking accreditation for our top common sites in russia because of his armenian routes. football just wants to pass around all this mess for rest assured when the turn kicks off from one care here and in the other 10 host cities. this is the moment many have been waiting for and hopefully a turning point for sports and politics. like yourself the r t reporting from st. petersburg. yeah, looking forward about sports coverage, aeronautics and national hope. you can join us for it. the meantime, your friday program return at the top of me, ah, we're here in saint petersburg at the international economic board. and the topic of our program is the global economy. how is it changed since coven, for the winter, for the loses? what are the challenges, and would it be opportunities the

but you've probably heard the story about how some of this country is richest residence have legally managed to pay hardly any federal income tax, but who got a hold of that information and was the motor for doing so political well to help the democrats maybe, well, we'll look into it with our political panel and shoot your employer be allowed to force you to take the colbert vaccine. i mean, what if you went to work and they said take it or you're fired. what if you worked at a hospital will tell you about a group of unvaccinated nurses in euston fighting to keep their jobs? the space race looks very different today than it did when we won the race to put a man on the moon. these days. it's a race between billionaires richard branson and jeff bezos to name to will explain . and have you been on a plane lately? have you noticed that some of the passengers may be
8:32 am
a little heavier than they used to be? that's that might take relax. that's the f a. requiring airlines to update, passenger, and baggage, weight estimates that airlines used to keep each flight within airplane safety limits. natasha suite will be along and have that story times the balls work for scottsdale use on today's edition of news news use right here on our t america. ah . okay. on wednesday, pro public publish a story which included years of private tax return information on some of the nation's wealthiest individual. i'm talking about people like jeff pays those michael bloomberg. warren buffett the line must. the piece showed that these top earners paid virtually no federal income tax and they did it legally. now, whoever gave this confidential information to pro public and most likely did so
8:33 am
illegally. and the us attorney general says the justice apartment will make finding that person or persons priority number one. let's welcome in the political panel to discuss we have robert patillo talk radio hosts and civil rights attorney and a j swinson, new journeys chief of staff. welcome to both of you. glad to see you. ok. this is one heck of a breach, robert. i mean, isn't it? this is like the mother lode. absolutely, and i think it's confirmed what most americans believed, which is that the richard people in this country do not contribute to the funding of our government takes only just bees also was flying into outer space. next month on the blue origin spacecraft, he paid the rate of under 3 percent. so a lot of the ones on most space companies face exit, doing regular flights to the space station and caring with 3 crew dragon and the cargo dragon making very regular trip. they're watching space about once a week. he's paying almost nothing in federal income tax. the reason those tortured
8:34 am
michigan is the one must to one or $2900000000.00 contracting make lunar starship to be the lander for the articles program. so he's getting to $3000000000.00 a tech here, money, and pay no jump being those $10000000000.00 for order, and he's paying taxes either. but a j. we should point out. and as i did that, this is done legally. i mean, this is done legally not, they're not illegal, they're not bad people for doing it. i mean, i don't know many people who write a check to pay extra tax when everybody has that right to do that if they wanted to . so what's your take on, on, on what's going on here with this leak a j. oh, the reality. yeah, that is true. the middle class is paying a higher tax rate, then you could say the top is the same time what they're talking about is overall wells. so if bill gates, by land, if you buy anything that has value that adds to his, well,
8:35 am
even if you look at progressive tax plans like elizabeth warren, she would charge people tax people a certain amount, 2 to 3 percent. if they make over a $1000000.00, so what would that add to the federal budget? $200000.00. so even progressive plan is not really asking them to pay much more. i'm not again taxing richer people higher, but i don't think that it's going to cover the wishlist the less has as far as no way, for example, by fracture. bill. no, you can't tax a wealthiest people in this country. 100 percent it's been done. it's been, i mean it's been studied and it's been proven and it won't make a dent in some of these program proposals that the left wants. now, the wall street journal editorial board, they have a theory as to why this was done. why now? it was done to help says the editorial, the biden administration, and the democrats further the tax, the rich agenda. robert, again,
8:36 am
whoever did this, it does seem well time, because this is coming up right now before the congress. well, let's understand the impact. so there's this right now on the infrastructure building crucially needed infrastructure bill where we have a lead in water pipes in this country. they've been around since the 19th century. they need to be repaired. roles and bridges have scores across the board and we need to be transitioning to an electric economy and to green energy. what republican for things they don't want to attack these major corporations at 15 or 25 percent on capital gain, which is a ridiculous conversation. and they were comma suggesting we pay for it by taking money back from unemployed people who lost their jobs. during coven, those simply issue a value for this country. getting value infrastructure. do value building for future didn't value helping them in class? or you want to have more testing for millionaire to billionaire already don't pay any pets at all. republicans show that they have no interest in helping them. middle class is only about making sure millionaire and building their pay absolutely no tests at all while still reaping the benefits of billions of hours of
8:37 am
government subsidies. ok. well a jay, of course i'll, i'll disagree with what robert had to say. the democrats don't want an infrastructure bill, they've redefined infrastructure, and they put in everything under the sun and of called it infrastructure. so, but what about the timing of the, of the person who apparently broke the law to give this to the paper. now, do you believe that it's an accidental, the timing or no accident at all? well, i think it definitely politically motivated pro publicly put out a statement saying that, you know, they think it's in the public interest and ok if you think dealing information is in the public interest and that meets your journalistic standards. that's bad. but that's the state of the media today. there were a lot of talking points that were just dropped. and i do want to address that for a while. republicans wholeheartedly want to fix the infrastructure. but democrats
8:38 am
are throwing in all their other wishlist, including different aspects of raising health care workers, fit pe, elder care, all these different things that don't have to do with what he actually mention. road bridges lead pipe, things that have to actually do with energy and infrastructure. so there are gonna stand still there for that reason. and i, like i said, it's not necessarily a negative thing to maybe face should we look at some of these deduction? keep in mind that democrats in 2019 that took away the cab, which caused democrats in states with high packers to actually not be with a duck so much from their taxes. it was cracked that deduction away. so democrats or so for taxing the rich the why did they jump back? preventing state from tax and rich. yeah, well good, very good questions and good point. so i want to move on to, to mayor role elections in the state of texas. i could say a lot about not only the mid terms in that state,
8:39 am
but across the country. republicans, $12.00 key elections, one in macallan, texas, which is 85 percent hispanic. and it's consistent with the problems that joe biden had with the hispanic vote in parts of texas. so what does this mean? as we headed 220222024. robert. it means absolutely about being republican, one to mer, only let change in a traditionally red state of texas, and they're celebrating that. i'm not quite sure what the state of the republican party, but let's understand something 1st of biden's approval ratings are over 60 percent right now. we're seeing the success of the american rescue plan. they're able to pass the infrastructure deal because we've seen republicans have no interest in doing so. so they may have to do some reconciliation. they've already agreed to reduce the price tag from $2.00 trillion down to $1.00 trillion, cuts out, much of the, the quote unquote, non infrastructure spending the whole complaint about. and so i gotta, i gotta go,
8:40 am
i gotta, i gotta, i gotta cut just short. i want to get a g, u, a j. to me. this does speak volumes. we've heard nothing but from the left, except we're going to turn texas from from red to blue. and that it happening 30 seconds. think back. i think to overlook this would be a crime. honestly, the democratic party needs to look at what they're passing right now. there's a crisis at the border that com la continue to miss handle, continue to lie. she continued not to visit the people there are on the border, are inspect the advisors, and that's going to cost them the upcoming election. i couldn't agree more more. i couldn't agree with him or robert patillo and, and of course a j swenson. thank you both very much appreciate coming on. thank. thank you. all right folks, what if your employer instituted a policy that said if you want to keep your job, you have to get the cobra, the vaccine. would you get it? would you dare him to fire you or would you do what nurses at eustace medical
8:41 am
hospital have done? they are taking the case to court with us now is our t america's own ben. swanny is a host of boom bus. spend great to see sir. first, let me say i did receive my 2 doses of the vaccine. no one forced me. you're threatened me. my son did actually. so i did it. but to me, the most interesting part of this story been is that these are nurses and medical personnel who are saying, we don't know enough about these vaccines, we don't trust it. so i'm not going to take it. and it's been happening at various medical facilities around the united states just at this one, hospital and use. and so i mean that should be an eye opener. yeah, it should be. so just to be clear here and hear me when i say this, no employer has the right to force you to get any of these cobra 1900 vaccines. they do not have that, right. i'll explain why in a 2nd. but let me just set this up. so a 117 of the employees at this houston hospital. nurses and staff have filed
8:42 am
a lawsuit basically saying they've been told that if they do not get back to me by june 7th, they were going to be terminated. they were out of a job. so they filed a lawsuit saying, you can't force us to take this vaccine by the way, maryland and there 60 hospitals that are represented under the, the maryland hospital association is now requiring all of their nurses and employees as well as in the dc area. they're requiring the so it is happening across the country. now here's the sticking point is that an employer does not have the right to force you to get vaccinated because with these vaccines, because they were issued under an emergency use authorization, and e, u, a emergency use authorization is what the f b a gave promot turner for 5 year for johnson and johnson, in order to have these vaccines out, the law is very clear about this health and human services. essentially said, when this was done, that you cannot be forced, you cannot be compelled to take these vaccines because they have not been study that has been said by helping human services. doctor cohen, at health and human services, testified before congress. october 22nd of 2020 and said in that testimony,
8:43 am
no one will be forced to take these, including hospitals and organizations cannot mandate it because it was issued under an e. u. a very important distinction. because steve, as you know, so many of the folks who make the claim that, oh yeah, employers can do this. they're citing the supreme court ruling from 19 o 5 that says that the army can force soldiers to get vaccinated. that has no bearing on the ways which 1st came into place in 2004. while i'm anxious to see, i'm not doubting your word, i'm anxious to see the outcome of they are their fleet to the court to stop what's going on there at the use of hospital. but what about the argument legal basis or not that in the case of health care workers, they owe it to the patients that they treat to have the shot. well, i would disagree with that for a couple of reasons. for one thing, there's a lot of things we don't know about these vaccines, and that's the argument that's made here in the law since the lawsuit. but nurses
8:44 am
are saying this, they're saying we're not guinea pigs, right? and so you can't force us to take this back to nature, we're nothing, we won't get it in the future. we're saying we don't know what the effects will be . so until it's studied, we want to reserve the right to not take it legally. they have a point there, and by the way, i believe this will probably go to the supreme court. it needs to go to the supreme court because there is a huge distinction here between an emergency use authorization, meaning we don't know what's in the vaccine or we don't know what the effects it'll have versus something the f, the as approved. but to your point about being a nurse, the bottom line is if phil's nurses have had cove it in the past, based on what we know now, we know that the antibodies you get from actually contracting cobit according to multiple reports now and studies last longer. last a lifetime and are more effective than getting the vaccine. so why are these hospitals giving antibody test and nurses to the employees to determine whether or not they have that instead of brushing straight to the vaccine? all right, so now these nurses and i agree with you,
8:45 am
i mean i would love to see this go to the supreme corporate will take a long time. so to, to what i was going to just address you, these nurses have been suspended for 2 weeks. and if they don't get the shot they, their employer says they'll be fired. i mean, they may be reinstated down the line. if this goes right, supreme court, even expedited, it would take a long while. so you know what happens to the workers and, and again, this is all over the country at medical facilities and i wish the media would make the public aware of this. they're not, but that's another issue. go ahead. that's right, they're not. and you're right. here's what i think of the answer to it, is that if you are an especially a nurse and you're being told this one, if you, if it goes against your conscience in your believes to be vaccinated, then don't do it. and instead, there are certain nursing shortages all over the country. there are hospitals in states where they won't try to compel you or in certain states where they're not allowing you to be compelled states like florida where run incentives. yeah, find a bill saying you cannot force it, go there. and instead,
8:46 am
what i love to see maryland in dc and in houston in every place where this is being mandated, walk out and take your abilities, services, talents, take it someplace for their respective route. and you know, who's going to suffer for him from all this the patients that need help in great to see you, sir. thank you very much for being with us. thank you. all right folks. on the other side of the break, we're going to take a look at the new private sector space race and what we're going to see in the field in the near future. it's getting pretty fascinating say where you are the join me every thursday on the alex simon show. when i was speaking to guess in the world, the politics sport business. i'm show business. i'll see you then. me as
8:47 am
a korea professional sport is much tougher on some than others or year old. she might by everybody. so why would somebody believe me, i was just a little girl, the price paid to, to, to achieve that really was was how to read in the paper this morning. usa swimming coach, arrested, allegedly had sex with a 12 year old girl. this happens almost every week. we get calls at the office. i get informed about one of my greatest fears is someone's going to start linking all this together. there's going to be a 60 minute documentary about youth coaches in sports like gymnastics swimming. is that documentary? see it on r t i you know, when i was a kid folks, the space flights were named apollo as an apollo 11,
8:48 am
which was the 1st mission to land people on the moon. for a program in bio neal armstrong's iconic 1st words spoken on the surface of the moon, july 20th 1969. as the u. s. won the race to put men on the moon. today we're in a completely different world, so to speak. when it comes to the space rates, joining me now is filmmakers steven barber of vanilla fire dot com. feeling great to see you. great to talk with you. thanks for coming on. your all about apollo. you built the crew monument of apollo 11 for the 50th anniversary, the moon landing you made the movie, we must be bold about the building of that monument. and i knew you were involved with monuments of other apollo missions. you did 11 and 13. what are you working on now and if people want to get involved with that and help, how can they?
8:49 am
yeah, thanks very much. the, the i was really fortunate. i was able to vision the crew monument for apollo 11, which is not at the kennedy space center. and then we just finished the billing with the power 13. and i got to work with both all my colleagues who we just lot and captain jim level. so is my honor working with london sculptors out of love when colorado, america's greatest sculptors. what i'm working on now is what i found out to be with my journey there are 0. let me repeat that 0. mind you with any women from napa, there's been 65 women that afloat space and thousands that have worked at nasa. so i've been able to vision the dr. sally right 1st american woman and space monument . i've raised half the money for that, about a $100000.00. we've got out of the bank. i need another 150. and we've got a location at the cradle of aviation, and long island. we literally just like that in today. so the timing is good and i'm working out the hidden figures. 9, the 1st female nasa mathematic, the african american monument in the history of nasa. because there is just about 0
8:50 am
diversity at nasa as well when it comes to celebrating these great americans that have gone into space. so i'm pretty excited about where we're heading. fantastic, congratulations on all that. you're wearing the nasa shirt. you mentioned nasa and my next question is, what happened to nasa as we used to know what i mean, you pick a space flights from this country in mission control and the see them all and you hear them talking was running the space program today. i mean, is there still a nasa, but they are partnering with, with outside entities? correct. well, you know, nasa is still now doing incredible things to me watching this helicopter fly around on mars and the fact that we can get them. i mean, it's really quite stunning, but they will think lost their patriotism. i've lost their vision as far as you know. now we started with jeff k. give that, that incredible speech at rice university. back in 1900. 61 thing that we're going to put a man on the moon and return him safely. 3rd, in this decade i, you know,
8:51 am
everybody started beating the just, you know, every american was excited. every american was involved. and that way, after a couple of statewide, you know, bipolar 13th, you know, people kind of not watching. so i think this is kind of interesting that napa has gone commercial. i think it has an opportunity to save nasa as far as what people thought nasa used to be. but it's certainly not what it was 6070 years ago because we were, you know, we were raising the russians and it was the big geo political organization at the time. but i still think it's just an incredible organization to just, you know, and believable ward. i mean, i love math. so what do you make of the reported race to space now between 2 of the private entities, commercial entities, as you put in, verger galactic found richard branson and blue origin and amazon by the way, founder jeff bates so. so, i mean, the fact that they're having a rivalry,
8:52 am
whether it's real or just made up by the media, i guess is a good thing for, for public interest. but you know what your take on, on what the space program really has become, which is this kind of thing. well, i'll give you 50 bucks. if jeff gets on that rocket. i think it is a big, i think it is a big p r campaign. but you know what, you know, at the end of the day, what else can the guy do? you know, he's going to probably be the world 1st trillion here. he's got more money than you know, he's made. he's made a 1000000000 dollars to you and i've been speaking so you know, a rocket is the last thing that he's able to do to, you know, which is incredible, thirst, you know, for who he is and what he's accomplished now, like i've been, i've been pitching jeff monuments for a couple years. he said yes yet, but, you know, very kind to be of, i've met him, branson, you know, i'd like richard because richard, you know, he's taken time now. he's, you know, he's going to go up, but he's waited for 5 or 6 successful missions to go up. so,
8:53 am
you know, the fact that just announced this last week is like, oh yeah, i think i'll go up next month. you know, the 52nd university, the millennium, like really, ok will be there a great p r campaign or he's going to do it or he's not going to say, let me, let me ask you a question. let me ask you a question. how safe sure is all this private space stuff. i mean, how would would you go, should i go to, you know, my opinion is every space march the suicide mission and we've lost 17 men and women, space and 60 years. i mean, you know, out of the 13 or 1400 that have gone up. so those are, you know, those, you're pretty heavy. i mean, i, i'm blown away by people to get on their rocket and go into 0. gee, and go to the, into the back in the space that is, that is what i do it. yeah, i would do it, but it would take some more thought. i'd have to really, you know, be prepared to go, this could be my last mission you, i think you have to mentally prepare like that. this is that this is nothing said
8:54 am
about getting out of rocket with 4000. 9 you know, 4000000 tons of thrust be going, you know, the ranking the spaces. nothing will ever be safe about that. but i am, i love building the monument of the folks that have done it. yeah, well listen, kudos to you. you're doing a very patriotic thing and, and i'm sure it's a, it's a great passion. great to talk to you and thank you for your time today, steve. thank you sir. all right, as passengers become heavier airlines are looking to implement new guidelines, which would include factoring in your wake before you get on a plane. ortiz correspond that natasha suite has more on the plans being rolled out. obesity is a growing epidemic in the us alone. the centers for disease control and prevention finds more than 40 percent of the population obese and won't the latest data available is from 2018 experts say they believe that number to be even higher. so
