to join us in the depths ah, or remain in the shallows, ah, ah, that lives this hour here on our teeth. amanda, arrested object threatening to death. nato truck. the ball near capitol hill. unless president biden unleashes, midsize that the taliban. the story only split the american public right down party line, the desperate times call for desperate measures parents. convent babies that cobbled ab board hoping they'll be taken out of afghanistan to safely. we'll hear from an american man who had been on the verge of adopting a 10 year old boy from the country when the pale, suddenly arrested. unfortunately, have not had any contact with him in not really sure whether he bought it or not. well, i've got a national riley across part of the country showing resistance the taliban
2:01 am
questions are still being on that the how the terror group was able to complete. we put aside the afghan army, we put the issue up for debate. large number of africa and ordinary people, especially outside sick and tired of more instability. insecurity. you've got some corrupt warlords, and you've got to corrupt government officials. i don't think county cornish company should ever, ever again work with america. ah . the past turning into a busy friday, the worldwide stories. i'm real research, i live in moscow. look into the program. a man who detonated or should i say, threatened to detonate a bomb near the capital building. and washington d. c. has been arrested off to actually handing himself into police. the suspect was apparently motivated by his anger of the policies of the biden administration.
2:02 am
but the stories created 2 very distinct partisan lines on twitter. with some dubbing him a terrorist supporter of donald trump. but others claiming he was provoked by the democrats. well, the suspect to live streamed himself from inside a truck pointing to a barrel. he claim was packed with explosives. his threats triggered and evacuation of the area around capitol hill, a during the live stream. he said he was directly addressing president biden and demanded as strikes on the taliban in afghanistan. he claim not to care of trump, becomes president again, but said all of the democrats should quit. now the man was identified as 49 year old floyd re roseberry and judging by his social media presidency, donald trump supporter, he had reported committed a number of offences and 1918 including lawson. he also said he didn't actually want to kill anybody. he only wanted his ex wife back or the liberal media was quick to focus on the suspects. auntie biden's dance,
2:03 am
which she voiced while streaming online from inside the truck. he's son christopher told cnn that his father took a much greater interest in politics after donald trump was elected biden's. victory made him very upset. the anti mask, the anti vaccine, the january 6 political prisoner notion, all of this is causing a kind of online radicalization that could, frankly, i've not seen since my days working al qaeda isis. the true motor behind rosemary's bomb threat remains unclear in his live stream. he also mentioned kindest on earlier, my colleagues, jessica taylor told to seize the voice of knowledge she was at the scene in washington. i was here when the capital police chief announced that he was taken in without a struggle without incident. they said that he had a criminal record in north carolina, but it to capital police chiefs were nothing that serious and that he had his

mother had recently passed way. the only other thing he mentioned there was no mention of politics. they said they would be clearing the scene for several hours, looking to make sure that the truck is actually safe. they had concerns about the propane tank in the back of it, which is anderson or the actual farm. how it's transpired, the he is a trump supporter. key thing capital hell could have had a special significance for him given what happened on january the 6th, of course it looked like he was berating some football players for kneeling, for the national anthem and losing the game. i mean, the trump support, 75000000 americans voted for trump in the last election. that's a pretty big barrel to stuff everybody in. i guess a lot the look, the prevailing attitude on that portion of the american political spectrum is that january 6th was at, at best a horrible mistake and at worst a set up. i don't know if that's true or not, but that's what they believe. and so i don't think they would i'm not in his head.
2:05 am
i don't know what motivated him. i can't really. this is a bad at toward disclaimer. i can't really say what he did or didn't do, and we'll see if he has anything to say. but i don't think he sort of came back to the capital for any sort of special significance, especially since vital is not in d. c. biden's in delaware, and congress is our session. so there was literally nobody from the structures of power to pay attention to him. except for the police and the media. because the reaction from to libertarian party members who believe politics is actually not involved here there's, there's an unprecedented level of political division. and we've seen politics building over into social areas that it's really been able to steer clear out of for the vast majority of american history. so we now see the, the line between political views and just personal identity and social view blurred to such an extent that essentially united states has been to camps now. and so the
2:06 am
idea that one side of calling their side to terrors and the other side saying that the others, the 1st side is, is setting up a false false flag operation is not even surprising is just kind of par for the course right now. i'm not sure if it was a hasty reaction during the stand off, but now knowing what we do for anyone to call this here is a much less anything indicative and full disclosure. you're not a republican, certainly not a trump supporter. i ran on a presidential ticket against donald trump and mike and so no, you know, certainly not trying to stick up for the republican party or donald trump. this has nothing to do with politics. this was a person with a mental health problem. who did something very, very bad. thankfully, no one got hurt. this was not terrorism. it is all to international crowds of desperate gowns are still amassing around cobble lap board and the hope of escaping to a new life away from the taliban. video from the scene show some parents even willing to give up their babies as us soldiers help lift them over the airport wall. the state department says it has
2:07 am
a full picture about developments on the ground and is doing everything possible to carry out evacuation. we're aware of congestion around the airport. we are working closely with the department of defense to facilitate safe and orderly access for consular processing on the airport comp. u. s. military and other country flights continued throughout the last 24 hours. and american citizens and legal permanent residents will be given the 1st opportunity to board with other priority groups filling and seeds from their. meanwhile, a couple of us are frantically trying to get to safety a 10 year old african boy. they were right on the verge of adopting. they started the adoption process 5 years ago and it was almost complete when the country was suddenly plunged into crisis and fear the taliban could try and block the move. and we talked to the foster father who was waiting for his new son in florida. he says, while the boy has made it to the airport, it's unclear if he will be allowed to leave either he's still at the airport or
2:08 am
somewhere in flight going abroad. unfortunately, have not had any contact with him in. i'm not really sure whether he bought it or not and the situation is a little bit, i'm certain enough canister, and so i did speak with him about 13 hours ago a couple airport. so he was inside the airport to finally and he was waiting to board on a plane trish they attempted to get to the airport, but unfortunately they were not allowed to get inside the security of forces on the top and side they were not allowing anybody to enter the gate or whatever. on the 2nd day they did come and taliban have a checkpoint where you go and they asked that question and you showed them your documents and says, my friend is an american citizen with an american passport. and they were allowed to go inside and they are in there or, and they are in round the gentleman broadcast. i don't vela claims the taliban has killed a close relative of one of his journalists and seriously injured another. the terror

group was said to be carrying out a house to house hunt for the reporter who is actually currently in germany. d. w, and other german media outlets devoted to the berlin authorities, i should say to swiftly evacuate that stuff from afghanistan. well, let's learn more about this right now and cross live to peter oliver in berlin street. can you bring us up to speed? what do we know exactly what's happened here? well, earlier this week we had heard from the taliban saying that they weren't going to pursue vendettas against journalists or people who'd worked with the nato occupying forces of the same that both promises ringing very hollow. at the moment this news coming from the german state broadcast the deutsch avella, that taliban forces had gone to house the house. looking for one of the journalists in the process of search, they ended up killing a close relative of this journalist, wounding another. while other family members were able to get out just in time and,
2:10 am
and i'm currently on the run from the taliban. now the director general of deutsch avella has condemned the attack against a journalist who's currently here in germany. the killing of a close relative of one of our editors by the taliban. and hey, rock yesterday is inconceivably tragic and testifies to the q. danger in which all our employees and their families in afghan to stand find themselves. it is evident that the taliban are already carrying out organized searches for journalists, both in kabul and in the provinces. we are running out of time. it seems like more of this type of event is happening. the norwegian sense of a closer analysis is passed information on to the united nations enough, gone this down that says they can prove the taliban have black lists of people who collaborated with nato forces and with the previous government in afghanistan that they're putting up lists of people they want to detain. what we are seeing though,
2:11 am
when it comes to the refugee situation, in particular from the german side is just on with, on thursday evening, 100000000 euro was approved by the german government in order to help refugees in neighboring countries to afghan. it's done. we've also heard from horse they offer the german interior minister, who pointed out that those people who worked on the ground with german diplomatic and military forces who were in afghanistan aren't counted as refugees. those people that are being put on planes that called the lab port and brought here to germany, they on going down as refugee quotes, is that they are people that berlin has a particular responsibility to look after. to do things kind it by the way, they're not refugees or asylum seekers, but they're given permission by the german government to stay in germany out of national political interests or mr. they hope his office had made promises
2:12 am
previously that families would be kept together. however, what we're hearing from the ground in cobble is but the german development agency that's in charge pretty much of of saying who gets on the plains and who doesn't have certain criteria for for who gets those tickets out of cobble airport. if you worked with german forces, then you and your spouse get a ticket. also, any children under the age of 18 get a ticket. when it comes to children, over the age of 18, daughters are allowed to get on those flights as long as their own. married and don't have families of their own. however, any 18 plus sons, they aren't allowed to comb. now this is being described by some of those local off gun workers as well. absolute madness saying that they are expected to abandon their sons to the taliban. but when it comes to those ongoing scenes cobble
2:13 am
international airport, we saw earlier in the bulletin that are, are really still very chaotic. the us state department has overnight from thursday into friday, waived what had been charges of up to $2000.00 for us citizens. more than non us citizens to get on american planes out of the out of cobble international airport. this follow is on from well realization of the extreme circumstances in which these evacuations are being carried out. and also outrage about the decision when a bad, not a dime of that makes its way to the us treasury. our entire government is report out is scamarus, liars and thieves. i find that fascinating because they wouldn't need a $2000.00 escape flight if the government hadn't made a decision to abandon them. that when it comes to who qualifies to get all these evacuation flights, there's another case that's being brought to light and bolting around
2:14 am
a 100 guards from the british embassy in cobble. it's understood they won't qualify to get on flights out of cobble international airport because their contract with the united kingdom came through, they were out sourced to a contract. the ongoing seems expected to continue to keep on developing as flights keep on leaving from cobble airport, bringing people both to the united states to germany, to the united kingdom as well. eventually peter, thanks for that. well, said abrasions to mark off chemist on independence day. tied into anti taliban protester on parts of the country. some people rally to show their resistance to the new regime. in cobble crowds, march through the streets denouncing the takeover of the country. they chanted anti taliban slogans and carried joined to ask the flags that had become a symbol of defiance. women also took part in the protests. they remain among the
2:15 am
most threatened in today's taliban control the kindest on. since the takeover, st. advertisement in campbell, showing women's faces had been painted over several shops and beauty salons have also closed their doors out of fear of possible reprisals. some locals say women have practically disappeared from the streets with only a very small number. daring to go out at all despite the tyler bonds earlier promises to respect women's rights. it seems. many afghans don't really have that much confidence in those words. we don't want to go back 20 years, as we've struggled during these 20 years. how elders have been struggling, our family members have struggled as well. so we can not just sit at home, they used force against us and broke our smartphones. and they told us that you cannot raise your flag. they told us, go and sit at home, your women be ashamed that told the man to wear a scarf as you bring your women here. and
2:16 am
there we were forced to protest against them to show the world that to tell them government does not have any value, no just flaws. it has no legitimacy in the world. 5 days on from the collapse of the country. questions are still being asked to how the well equipped ask an army was so easily swept aside. we discussed the issue with a panel of guess. so despite all of america's fire power, despite all of america's allies, the united states was really doomed from the very beginning, did i say, did not understand what it was getting involved in united states culturally, was so ignorant of conditions inside afghanistan, that we've thought the war and the completely inept way from the beginning. this is
2:17 am
the biggest military blunder and the history of the planet. i don't think any coalition company should ever, ever again, work with america. this is, hurts, reaches. you don't need to have ability main to understand, but you need to remove your staff from an embassy into a secure b s. and then leave the countries, but to do it backwards is completely in unheard of. it's been, has been for so it, it feels like someone has, has dullness, with no knowledge whatsoever of the area. a large number of african only people, especially outside the cities are sick and tired of war instability and insecurity . the corruption of the outgoing west and support the government is not even, it's not actually welcoming the telephone, perhaps in a mindset that it can't be worse than the previous incumbent that was backed by the western powers. and without those factors in place, this rapid fall could not taking place. you've got some corrupt warlords,
2:18 am
and you've got to corrupt government officials and business men who have their own pockets effectively stolen. the money that was supposed to go to supplies for the military and the supposed to go direct reconstruction programs, help the afghan people, who were they going to fight for. they didn't believe in many of the leaders in the military who were also stealing. and they didn't believe in the government, which was very, very corrupt. this was not planned. strategically has went wrong. it's not anything . this has made america's strategic foreign policy completely irrelevant night. and it's, it's just sad. it's just, i've been sorry for the civilians left behind. i feel sorry for the afghan people, it just seems pointless. the whole are being a waste of time. with you and security council has wrapped up a session on global terror. the situation that got missed on dominated proceedings, there was an impassioned plea for help from a former
2:19 am
a to the old ask on president 100 cars on the hold most into when to alert and mitigate and a couple it big you money carry and tragedy. and to the end, you must overcome its usual approach, void declaring your situation as urgent. you monetary and crisis under the chapter 7, provision of the united nation charge. and this should include serious an edge and deliberation, to declare cabal as safe and protected by a un peacekeeping missions. you would love their opposing faction to come to an inclusive political settlement while working to mitigate the unfolding catastrophe . at the meeting of the 15 member body that leads the united nations, we heard dire warnings from the afghan and boy talking about the threat of terrorism and how the situation and afghan, it's dan threatens the global community. now what was interesting is when we heard
2:20 am
from the representative of the united states, it seemed like a very different message. the us representative did not play up concerns about the situation. and i have janice dan, but seemed to kind of downplay the potential threat only reflecting on the possibility that if terrorists were to set up shop and afghanistan, this could somehow result in the plotting of terror attacks in the united states. a very interesting message, we will hold the taliban accountable for its commitments not to allow any terrors to threaten the united states or its allies from afghan soil. and as i said earlier this week, we all, we must all work together to ensure afghanistan cannot ever, ever again be a base for terrorism. folks will recall how the situation in cobble is kind of capturing the attention of the world. there is a number of people surrounding the airport begging for the opportunity to leave the country,
2:21 am
fearing the taliban and their returns of power. but the united states is scrambling to evacuate its own personnel and its own citizens, let alone people in afghanistan who fear for their lives amid the return of the taliban, the u. s. department of defense, as admitted that it basically doesn't have a breakdown of who has been on the evacuation flight and that there they are, may be, it does not know. basically how many americans are still trapped in cobble. now, at the un security council, the message of the united states would seem to not really be concerned about the implications of their sudden withdrawal from afghanistan and the implications of the world. that message did not go down so well with various international figures . here's some of what we heard criticizing the us approach. leaving the country abruptly after 20 years was that i did just consider the tragic events in september, the 11th 2001 and for the past 20 years of dentist and was full of american. the nato troops, military instructors and advises, was officially declared goal, was to fight terrorism and to prepare african security forces to take part in this
2:22 am
fight as well. tremendous human and financial resources were expanded on this. and what's the bottom line? once for an instruct isn't troops left all 20 years worth of efforts when nullified overnight? no one was willing able to fight for the values imposed by foreign powers. has a gun to stand seems to be a terrorist and brought threat? certainly not. but it's now up to the new ab going to authorities and the countries neighbors to deal with that. now the western troops of left the african people are having to deal with an even bigger pile of problems. meeting wasn't solely devoted to afghanistan. it focused on the threat of terrorism around the world. and a lot of time at the meeting was devoted to discussing the continuous formation and presence of the i still terrorist group around the world. there was concern about the continuous bomb attacks and terrorism in different parts of the world. the attacks on civilians and military camps in african states. it was also touched on
2:23 am
what would be done about the ice l foreign fighters who continue to be held in custody in syria and iran and iraq. how would they be dealt with? how would they be processed and dealt with. also there was some concern about the fate of children being held in detention camps with their parents. these children who are held and associated with ice hills. so that was the focus of the meeting. the focus was on the world situation, the threats of terrorism. a lot of different countries spoke up. that was the meeting of the un security council. and some of those particularly upset of the rapid fall of the western back of the government in kabul as well as the resurgence of the taliban of british veterans and families who lost loved ones to the conflict that some line of questioning. if all those sacrifices were in vain cues in washington and london of watching the withdrawal of we spoke to the mother of fallen british soldier, sean benny, who was killed in a fight with tongue about militants in 2009. he was just 22. his mother, jeanette told us about her reaction to the events of the past week. why does i'm
2:24 am
very on the outside able to do that that they've been able to come in and do what they need to do. a lot of people are asking, you know, was it worth i question not. and since sunday reflect are willing to think any of the mums and families that have lost loved ones. they have really been able to comprehend best. i know that when my son was told he was co saved and women and children and the men that he was mentioned at a time along with his own una. and i will be for effort grateful to him and so cried that at the end of the d, her lace was given to try meet the country back to start the talent from being able to rule the neighbor to cause head or anyway, as the light went off and within 24 hours, they have just walked in and took over. it's just ludicrous to me,

need to explain why the fight is true so rapidly between the key and america beneath. explain why this is that, i mean, i personally would like an inquiry and to quite like this, not just the tile about the screen sweeping afghanistan, but the current of ours as well. the world health organization safety events of the past week. i've seen cases on the rise and health is needed at the state is one of the, the wells at least vaccinated countries. and to help such countries worldwide in initiative called kovak that was launched last year. designed to assist poor countries and accessing more jobs easily. and reliably without being at the mercy of donations. but the initiative doesn't seem to be functioning quite as intended of the 2000000000 promise. those is only 10 percent of being delivered. that line is supposed to be early next year. and kofax officials say they are aware of the problem. however, kofax also sent more than half a 1000000 doses to britain in june or loan country with one of the highest
2:26 am
vaccination rates. that's 2 times more than all the doses sent to the african continent. that's month. other wealthy nation such as cut out and bartering, receive jobs by directly paying callbacks. dr. moga come out here and from the people's vaccine alliance says rich nations of being selfish. no, it's not acceptable. of course it's not acceptable. the whole idea of having kovacs as a global mechanism is that we don't have that defendant, that the vaccines are distributed fairly while of course, that mod callbacks. when they started and decided to buy vaccines and distributed for the whole world, rich and poor. and of course, but of course, that the rich countries already even before i started doing that, why not from the pharmaceutical companies and secure millions and millions and millions of doses. so actually they don't need to get to get doses from corvette's

bought. you know, they date of birth and got more than half a $1000000.00 from canada. got some installed and they really shouldn't. yeah. under 2 companies, i'll just lex anything populations and ignoring the rest. so definitely not fat. i'm definitely going to so far it's already turning into our busy friday here at the national a lot of stories lining up few in the next hour here for the program. we are back in about 28 with the ah, the ah,

ah, this was a funny middle part of how our political leadership and our country large understood the bargain. you get a whole and then you will rebel. right, as the things you don't revolt if you have a stake in the system, be really interesting to dial back and think about the longer deeper history of what housings meant in the united states. not just that old question of the american dream, but the bigger question of who the dream has been for. hey folks, next up, a man and full jalen rose hitting a hell out of the ball over on s p. s. great coverage during the final. so he did, and he's also got a podcast called jalen rose renaissance man my, my man did 13 seasons in the n b a. so he knows of what he speaks, plus
