can pills so of all ills? or are we trying to mitigate life itself? i just think i was and i was just scared. i was just here a little girl, the 24. and like i didn't have to be so complicated the ah headline news from our $170.00 dead. nearly $200.00 injured at the aftermath of a terror attack. but feel, cobble apple, black crowds of both africans and forwarders for crammed together, waiting for it back. you ation the witness who was just 10 meters from that explosion shed this video and his thoughts
7:01 pm
with more than 30 or 40 people were laying beer dead. i mean, it was a really bad being. i mean, when i talked to them, i just didn't look at them. just look at he was the us president via was retaliation for the isis k claim. terror attack, which also killed 13 us service personnel. we will not forgive. we will not forget we will hunt you down to make you pay. ah hello and welcome. i'm calling braid r t h q in moscow where it's just turn to a m on saturdays, the world heads into the last weekend of august. it's the weekend of continuing devastation and desperation in afghanistan,
7:02 pm
still reeling from that bomb attack in the capital of the now taliban run country, the african health ministry says $170.00 people were killed, including americans, some, 200 more were injured. the pentagon now says only one explosion took place despite on thursday, the u. s. defense press secretary, claiming the 2 bluffs head cobble airport, the regional affiliate of isis, known as islamic state. hall sun quickly claimed that it was behind the atrocity of just a warranty. that there awesome graphic images coming up next. early reports suggested that one of the blast happened at the entrance to the airport. as afghans waited in line to be protest, try and fly out. bodies were thrown into a nearby storm drain, unexploded vest. he said to the news that one of the attacks of the other blas supposedly shook an area around a hotel where british officials were processing afghans to flight to the u. k. as i mentioned 13 us service members were among the dead. along with $28.00 taliban members, it's also known that 3 british citizens were killed, including
7:03 pm
a child. just another warning for you now there is some more potentially distressing pictures to show your next. covered bodies of victims which were laid out in the streets with grieving families, identifying and collecting the last loved ones. i'm sorry, so the been a while, you need to know how to book an idea. what was that wasn't working money, no money people on british people that didn't work properly and didn't like some. 2 1 like 20 people other than the tool. again plus one people like 60 people that people have
7:04 pm
a know like have no legs off. but i guess having cobbled, told us how the cities ferrying after the tragic events. things have calmed down somewhat here in capital though that is relatively speaking. we are hearing god far endless guns, but single shots coming from all areas of the city as we heard that throughout the night will with the taliban as we learn. so to be cleaning house, they launched city wide search door to door inspections. house to house searches, looking for i says k members, isis k, that is isis, is affiliate here in i'm gonna start with whom the taliban has be the war for, for many years. now and who are believe to be responsible for the attacks at the airport, we will do our hearing the explosions that we had yesterday get coming from all areas of the city. but today those searches that the taliban launch,
7:05 pm
those do to do inspections. they have continued we had, we have heard from i'm official sources from our contact here that as many as a dozen ices slides as well, either court or killed. during these searches, the taliban has published the images of at 3 suspects eyes. the suspects that it has captured on the approaches to the airport of capital, believing that they were planning to carry out more attacks at the airport. and this is something that the united states its allies as well as the tide. i believe there is a high charge more attacked as security at the airport booth and boston taliban and us troops. they have an access, maximum security. they expect more attacks to happen, not that that has scared away the crowd, the thousands and thousands of people would crowd around the airport at the checkpoint. and the, the, the gates, the feds is trying to get it to the airport,
7:06 pm
queuing, desperately shopping and pushing for days and days weighted paper. some of them believe that there is a real threat to the alive that there will be consequences if they stay behind you perhaps vengeance from the data for their work with foreign forces or foreign will get a sions irregardless of taliban assurances that no one no one will be touched. the united states is also now changed its course events. what it believes happened. it says that there wasn't a 2nd car bombing. there was just the one suicide bombing at the north gate. 170 people almost killed almost 200 wounded. to tell you how tightly pressed together, how tightly packed the crowds, well for a single suicide bomber, but presumably a suicide, this to us killed and injured so many isis is reportedly also come out with its own version of that. they say they're suicide. bob managed to penetrate all
7:07 pm
security checkpoints, leading to this final checkpoint just outside the airport man by both taliban fighters as well as us servicemen. as i said, the threat to ease persisted both the taliban and the united states. its allies believe there could be more attacks, they expect more attacks, and the taliban says the situation will be result than to look until the crowds dispersed. that is unlikely to happen until the end. the end of the evacuation slated for the 31st of august. the following video was apparently filmed right after the attack and was sent to us by a witness. the the man who filmed it was just meters away from the blast side. he has what he told us. this was something that we are living in probably like
7:08 pm
420 or 2 or more than that. i hadn't witnessed christine, that hurt our eyes were i was alert full of yours and all we couldn't breathe. the oxygen was all like good, there was no oxygen at that time. after that, when that happened, the americans just shot the fire. i mean, they opened the guns at the people, there was only one exam and that was near the explosion area. so when they tried to push me and like i really tried to reach my aunt and her, but i couldn't dave me and i thought that my aunt and her children's drug stamp eat or they are maybe god forbid, they might be dead by now. so when i went there and saw them, i was really thankful for that. they were like, we saw many, many dead bodies. i like maybe more,
7:09 pm
more than 30 or 40 people were laying there dead. i mean, it was a really bad scene. i mean, when i saw them, i just didn't that just don't look at them. just look at it was. so, i mean, this is very bad for sure. a more unsettling video shows covered bodies lying in the street ahead of the atrocity britain, u. s. and other western nations had been warning that nationals about the threat of a severe sarah attack, a vitamin, to avoid the airport of the witness we spoke to says afghans have been left to fend for themselves. the course we feel abandoned. that's because you all these people, those who are trying to get in there for they are having some documents that they can go. but the are the people like actually doesn't have anything. all these you have him do and media is in the news store. lots of them doesn't have any legal
7:10 pm
documents that they are trying to get out. there are like more than 20000 if we have taken. but right now, this thing is all messed up automated. i don't know why the americans are not processing then anymore. but lots of people just like us are striking and hearing. and i know everyone is trying, you know, just to get out of this country of this situation and run from taliban. so yes, we left abandon, we are left behind. we just want, you know, to get out of this country as soon as possible, before you know the situation and get more critical, many of the injure, to now being treated in hospital some fighting for their lives. here's how one survivor described his experience of the blond than i had applied for the visit. the for this invited us to come near the door. i was near the gate when the
7:11 pm
explosion occurred. i saw myself falling to the ground and when i stood up, i told the last one side of my abdomen. and then they brought me to hospital is one of the wounded of the isis splinter group behind thursday's terrorism. being active in eastern afghanistan and pakistan. and launched a savage campaign of bloodshed when it was founded in 2015. with more details on the group, his equal dawn of the dreaded name of ice, it had all but vanished from international headlines. but now, amid the afghan power vacuum, the terror group has apparently struck again the . the double strike right outside couple, airport killed dozens. american politicians had been warning, an attack was inevitable, but to no avail. every day were on the ground is another day. we know that ice case seeking to target the airport attack both us and allied forces and innocent
7:12 pm
civilians. as we conduct these operations, we are sustaining the highest level of vigilance for an attack against the airport by isis k or another terrorist group, or commanders on the ground have taken every step they can to prepare for such an attack. isis k is an african offshoot of the same notorious islamic state terror group. it's based in correson, hence the letter k in the abbreviation with over 2000 g. hardy's committed to its terrible cause. the group targets have ghana stones most vulnerable the the
7:13 pm
if you think this may have been isis case law strike at the exiting foreign troops before a happy union with the taliban? well think again. the 2 groups are sworn enemies with the taliban just not radical enough. in the eyes of isis k, the islamic emerett strongly condemns the bombing targeting civilians at coco airport. the explosion took place in an area where us forces are responsible for security. the bottom line is isis k presents a massive security and reputational challenge for the taliban. given the taliban attempts to look more civil, humane and legitimate, we could conceivably soon see. i mean, strangers, it sounds
7:14 pm
a taliban lead anti terrorist operation, or isis k might become the perfect pretext for the us to negotiate at least some presents in talib, uncontrolled of garrison. we did hear about this group, for example, and i believe, april 2017. when trump and essentially authorized the pentagon to drop the mother of all bombs in eastern afghanistan, i believe in the non ga har province on ices k. but the roots of this group in its existence is poorly understood. and of course, when we hear these press briefings at the pentagon, there's very little context. this group actually is a direct byproduct of the us invasion and occupation of afghanistan. it grew out of the pockets, donnie taliban, who were disgruntled taliban members who wanted to carry out attacks on us targets inside pakistan and afghanistan. one of their most spectacular attacks was on camp camp chapman, u. s. military base where they used
7:15 pm
a c. i turn coat to attack us soldiers. there are several other attacks on american assets. and this all led to a rise of terrorism inside pockets on directly related to the u. s. presence and afghan. a stand 6 years ago. the pakistani taliban, which was widely suspected of being used by the african government, backed by the u. s. against pakistan, turned into isis k central. it's the same thing as isis. so most viewers with no slumming state of iraq and syria re isis, which was this group that took over in 2014, 2015 big swath of iraq and syria. and by the way, who were able to do that because of massive amounts of military equipment that the us left behind specifically interact, that's where they really got their weapons from. they went into iraq, took those home visa weapons and went back into syria, isis k, which is the islamic state of correson, which essentially means eastern. they don't like the taliban, they're not friends with the taliban. they've been fighting the taliban. but more
7:16 pm
importantly, they'd been fighting the u. s. and i bring up the point about the weapons because we just did the exact same thing and up dennis and left behind. unbelievable amounts of us military equipment, massive amounts of weaponry and guns black hawk helicopters from these. we left it all there the same way that we did in iraq. so we could be creating a very similar problem. what we saw 20142015 with the other isis i. c. k is far from being the only faction able to carry out such attacks. not the warning from the african national resistance front, which controls the punchy of valley, an area now state as the center of the anti taliban opposition. it's far to fetch relations chief believes that the terror threat of the country right now is even stronger than it was 20 years ago. it could be isis cable. we think there are, there are other elements plan the attacks and that might have perpetrated such attacks against us soldiers and was a terrorist attack on the watch of the taliban. a group that says we are able to
7:17 pm
provide security. and now in one day we see numerous terrorist attacks happening on the watch, unfortunate b international terrorism and get us on as much stronger compared to 2001. this is something that the national resistance front of afghan on has been saying for the past year. we believe the international community should help our efforts to combat to national terrorism and afghans in 1900 on the, to the international community, abandoned f denison. and we saw how get us on became a haven for terrorists groups. the same will happen if the international community abandons that can. it's into 2021. there's no pose threat towards everyone. no one is an exempt and terrorism is after every state, whether it's part of the western world or eastern. he's also managed to speak with the taliban spokes person on a range of issues, including fighting drug trafficking in the threat posed by potential resistance forces. the give me,
7:18 pm
sorry, really sorry about what happened, a couple add port for our part. we've taken measures to avoid these unwanted events . of course the responsibility lies with the americans. they tell people to gather the field. they say we will take you out. there was hustle and bustle. the americans opened fire at people. many were trampled and crushed. many died by august the 31st. the americans must play the evacuation of their employees for a mall. that's for the pansies hair. it's not a big problem. there were only 2 people to who would like to continue the war. amory la seller and applewood masoud. we've repeatedly appealed to magnitude to resolve the existing problems through negotiations. and there is no need for a military confrontation. we've not received an answer to our calls, and that's not a problem either or on force as a station nearby pension. here to keep the situation under control for
7:19 pm
my current situation is entirely dependent on the afghans and no one else. we're not going to become a threat to the states bordering us using the g o strategic factor. we have good relations with tajikistan is pakistan, minister on pakistan, bron china. i can assure our neighbors that they should not fear any threats, harm or damage from our territory, the belly online, as well as for drugs, we have a far reaching plan to prevent drug production. currently, about 3000000 afghans rejected to drugs. this is this side phenomenon for us. we'll try to nullify the cultivation and production of drugs in 2001 the cultivation and production of opiates would not eradicated work in this direction as well. in some provinces, the sewing and collection of drugs is still ongoing. and here we need cooperation, not only with the countries of the region,
7:20 pm
but also with other interested state that i was also the american military's deadliest day in a decade, with 13 personnel killed her 900. that was injured. when a journalist i'll stop by and if you plan to speak to the bereaved families, he chose to keep silent. the meantime, precious building for the us secretary of state 2 republicans in the house of representatives of introduced articles of impeachment accusing anthony blank and failing to properly advise the president and of abandoning american interests in afghanistan. the withdrawal debacle. landed 4 out of saint joe biden, and his administration come increasingly under fire. more on that next from correspondent john hardy. as an ant bite and has given approval to his military commanders to really go after isis k. i says, course on. because of what happened yesterday. so the president saying the military
7:21 pm
can go after isis. what that will mean? how that will play out remains to be said, isis k or isis course on claimed responsibility. and today they're really continues to be some of the back and forth between the taliban and us officials over who is ultimately to blame for the security breach. you heard the taliban spokesman talking about that it was really the, the u. s. security failure as the u. s was responsible for guarding the entrance to the airport, but the us maintain that it was the taliban failure for even allowing sisters to get through and basically infiltrate the crowds. regardless of the evacuation effort continues along with as president vine, and said the hunt for those responsible for thursday's attack, the deadliest day, by the way, for us forces in afghanistan in a decade. president biden said the u. s. will hunt down those responsible though this also comes after just a few weeks ago. the president essentially lauding america success in the region mission to degrade the terrors, tread about kind in afghanistan and kilo summer been lot and was
7:22 pm
a success. i believed that our presence in that gas dance should be focused on the reason we went in the 1st place to ensure afghanistan would not be used as a base from which to attack our homeland. again. we did that. those who carried out just attack as well as anyone who wishes america harm. no. this, we will not forgive. we will not forget we will hunt you down to make you pay. so certainly some contracting statements there from the president and pentagon officials said today, by the way, there are specific, incredible threats remaining in afghanistan, including the possibility of more attacks. now whatever the outcome of the ongoing evacuation efforts, it is certainly an extremely chaotic and messy situation for the united states. and of course, for the biden administration. the president,
7:23 pm
coming under fire from republican leaders and officials calling for his resignation and saying that he ultimately bears the responsibility for what happened with some lawmakers. he's been going so far as saying he has quote, blood on his hands. if any america has harmed or killed and not safely evacuated, or if any of this military equipment or weapons are used to harbor kill an american, the blood is directly on jo biden's hands. this will destroy what's, what's left of nato, because the u. s. has been so unilateral and so clueless that mean for, for the president i states to be rebuked in the house of parliament. that's the 1st time it ever happened. joe biden have blood on his hands. this herrick national security and humanitarian disaster is solely the result of job biden's weak and incompetent leadership. he's unfit to be commander in chief. it is in raging and joe biden is responsible. it's now clear beyond all doubt, but he's neither the capacity nor the will to lead. he must resign or to be clear, president binder remain steadfast. the u. s. should continue to withdraw from
7:24 pm
afghanistan and effort that started by the way, during the obama administration and continued through the trump administration. and keep in mind, who is president trump, who negotiate a deal with the taliban to basically lay off us troops as us troops were being pulled out of the country. and that evacuation effort, of course continued, and the overall mission continued still undoubtably. all that said, this will likely be a stain on the bite and presidency. the blame game is in full effect, and certainly a lot of accusations back and forth. officials here in the united states and certainly internationally with this effort ongoing. okay, let's get some reaction on the political fallout state so we can talk to spike co and who's the libertarian parties, vice presidential candidates in the 2020 us election spike. welcome to a. let's start with jo biden's approval ratings and they've taken a bit of a hammering. how much is the i've got to stand debacle to blame. i'd imagine that's the majority of it. i mean,
7:25 pm
the reality is there's been many things. there's been hyperinflation, which is at least partially his fault, with all the stimulus spending he's been doing. but yes, i would say the majority of the drop that we've seen had been directly related to this bungling of the, of the withdrawal from afghanistan. what about those articles of impeachment from the to house? republicans, again, secretary of state, blank. and is that actually designed to go anywhere and achieve anything? or is it just a bit of political point scoring? it's probably a little bit of both. i'm sure they'd love to get rid of them if they could, but we all know with the makeup of the senate, there's absolutely no way that's going to happen. i think it was pretty incredible for anthony blinking yesterday to be blaming the embassy workers and american civilians. that are, they are doing work for the department of defense department of state for not leaving earlier when they're literally they're doing their jobs. but is that going to lead to an impeachment? i strongly doubt it. and joe biden says that he might be responsible for some of what's happening in afghanistan of late to donald trump. needs to also take some
7:26 pm
responsibility dealing with the taliban league, leaving us troops alone in the time leading up to the withdrawal. there's something in that isn't all along the way, and donald trump included presidents of an adverse please sometimes back the wrong hold. the bungling of u. s. foreign policy in the muslim world in the fall of every president, since eisenhower. this is nothing new job biting, screwed up, and has screwed up multiple times with this withdraw, he didn't keep with donald trump may timeline for pulling out, and he didn't begin the process as soon as he became president of getting african american civilians out of afghanistan. so that when the troops left began, leaving all the civilians were already gone. that was the biggest mistake that was made here. but the reality is there was no way to leave afghanistan without it being at least somewhat of a mess. and to answer a question that was asked earlier, i do think that joe biden should call the families of the people that died, not just the troops there, but also the, the api and western civilians that died there as well. what am i in terms of the political wait,
7:27 pm
the joe biden can now carry going forward on this. within 72 hours. he's gone from sounding triumphant and saying job done. that's why we're going to be out of afghanistan by august. the 31st. a more recent press conference is a very, very different tone. well, this was his mission accomplished banner, right? this was him saying this. everything is working great. even though we're watching the so called asking a national army, which apparently was no such thing. fall apart within a matter of days because he didn't even fight back and all of his saying that, you know, this is exactly how we wanted it to go. well, that clearly has not been true in this absolutely disgusting and terrible attack and the painful deaths that they cause is really just exclamation point on that fact. but i, again, i think it's important to put this in context. we should have never gone into afghanistan model. omar was more than happy to negotiate with the u. s. to hand over. been logged back in 2001. and instead, the military industrial complex and the so called nieto alliance got exactly what they wanted this endless war. and at one point, at some point, the being the,
7:28 pm
it was going to have to be pulled up. but joe biden is certainly done his share of screwing up on this. and as we're now in these final couple of days of the evacuation, such as it is, which is now riskier and deadly. and it was even 48 hours ago. we've got this unusual position where we had joe biden saying that they had to be on the taliban to co operate in order to make this as a success. then we had the buildings on thursday. all we now this unusual position where you've got us forces and taliban having to work side by side despite those decades of mistrust over the years. it does sound bizarre to even say it in the sentence, isn't it? the u. s. and the hi connie network, which is part of al qaeda. and of course, this is the 1st time the department of defense has been closely working with al qaeda. they've been doing with the genocide in yemen for the past few years now. but yeah, i mean, this is a ridiculous situation that troops and, and civilians that are over there are being put in where the u. s. is working with the taliban and al qaeda on security that we found out yesterday that the
7:29 pm
department of defense actually handed off what we could call a kill list or a list of the names of american, an afghan civilians that they needed to be allowed to enter the airport hopefully that isn't the way that it seems like it was going to end up being used. but this is the reality of what happens when you get involved in foreign entanglements. that frankly, are founders warned about 200 years ago. you end up with, you know, allied with your enemy over here to fight against your enemy that you, at some point created to fight this enemy. what you're now allied with. the fight is enemy. it's nonsense. we need to bring the troops home. we need to end the authorization use military force and call, we can go into war without congressional approval. and so with that in mind, then as america makes its way out and sadly, wasn't able to fully secure the airport on thursday. also, the taliban security forces are flagged by isis k, which i put money on. most people hadn't even heard of until 2 nights ago. whose war was it now that in afghanistan? i'm not sure i can even answer that and i will tell you something and, and,
7:30 pm
you know, i hope i don't sound too tinfoil when i say this, but week or so ago, i remember thinking to myself a little cynically watch, you know, the, the neo con, definitely don't want to set it back in a stand. we're probably gonna get attacked by isis. and sure enough, i s k islamic state of courts on which inter internet, interestingly enough, the last time we heard the word chorus on. it was a so called group that was in syria, that the obama administration used to justify bombings there turned out. it didn't even exist. and so, i mean obviously someone did this attack and it was either i s k or the taliban, or al qaeda or whoever else did it. but this is just the murky reality of these wars. they need to and nothing is being accomplished here. other than the wasting of lives and money and endless years of effort. ok. spike current, libertarian party beeping candidate in 20. 20. thanks very much for joining us. and i'll see you this weekend. thank you. peter levels cross talk is on the way next here on our say off the which will be here to update you again from the moscow user . and thanks for watching.
