2:30 am
for reporting that this means if you ask, abandoning their commitment to some middle east allies, realigning with others. back in the united states. democrats are ready to make good on their campaign promise to attack the wealthy, and the preparations to help pay for expanded social services. and to tackle climate change, we will give you the 3rd view of whether this is just campaign talk, and why republican se individuals are the one will be left paying. the bill and american football season is in full swing and a controversy has become as much a part of the tradition as tailgating and of noxious band. this year, the national anthem is in the spotlight again as a one high school over the 911 weekend. refuse to let their students wear red, white, and blue thing. it was racially insensitive. meanwhile, the nfl, it's allowing the black national anthem 3 played alongside the star spangled banner . we will have a sphere to debate on the merits of this as well as this weekend latest winter of the and then a women's fight. we just happen to be a former special combat veteran. he served as a man, i'm sorry,
2:31 am
i know he is in these stories and more on today's news views right here in our america. let's get started. ah, well there's new developments in the middle east as the united states remove a missile defense system from a saudi arabia. now this comes despite the kingdom facing ran repeated attacks from yemen to the rebels. archie correspondent natasha suite has the story. i didn't administration's decision to withdraw true from afghanistan as having a report effect in the middle east. now the u. s. has also decided to clear out its terminal high altitude air defense known as bad as well as is patriot missile batteries. the planning continues in eastern yemen between she rebels and those loyal to the government. according to the united nations, at least 800000,
2:32 am
many civilians have been killed or injured by airstrikes in 2015 or apart from the human rights council. so demons people, faith, some 10 airstrikes a day. the peace process has stormed for too long. the conflict parties have no disgust a comprehensive settlement since 2016. this has left yemen is stuck in an indefinite state of war. we know clear way forward, but the chaos in yemen is now carried into saudi arabia. as the kingdom is facing repeated air attacks from yemen who the rebels, the us remove its most advanced missile defense system fad and its patriot missile batteries. the prince sultan air base has hosted thousands of us troops since 2019 that came as a result of drone attacks on the heart of the kingdoms oil protection. now that attack was claimed by yemen who the rebels. however, expert to say the physical debris left behind points to iran, heading the attack k, ron has rejected any notion for responsibility. however,
2:33 am
critics point out that iran paramilitary forces were seen back in january using similar drones. now, despite the us removing its powerful missiles from saudi arabia, the country does maintain its own patriot missile batteries. it can fire to different missiles at an incoming target. however, it doesn't come without a price. each patriot missile is costing the kingdom more than $3000000.00, while the saudi defense ministry calls their relationship with the u. s. a strong, long standing and historic, even after withdrawing truth from ghana stand. critics are questioning the u. s. overall commitment to their allies in the goals. pentagon spokesman john kirby reaffirms the country pledge to its allies, reporting for new food hughes and hottest sweeps, rti now also in the middle east equipment left by us forces in afghanistan have now been spotted in iran, says in the report for when asked say in front of the how foreign affairs committee about military equipment in afghanistan, secretary of state anthony blank and maintains that what equipment can be used for
2:34 am
the taliban will be used for long. our folks worked very hard to disable or dismantle equipment that we saw control before we left afghanistan. and what we see now is much of the equipment that was left behind, including in the hands of the afghan forces that then fell to the taliban. much of it, based on what i understand from my colleagues, a, b, o, d, is an operable or soon will become an operable because it has to be maintain. it's not of any great strategic value in terms of threatening us or threatening any of afghanistan's neighbors. oh, there's so many issues and but this is a ron, is now pledging to work with the un atomic agency. but does that mean that a clear threat as easy as well as ask for pentagon official mike, michael? i just heard that statement. like i said it, and i heard him say that the, what is in quest right now is actual pictures of us come the rolling down the
2:35 am
street in between 2 major cities in southern iran. and this is an equipment that was bought by the iranians by the taliban vasquez and he is right. it's the equipment that we left for the afghan forces. should this not be concerning? could we not? we were talking about onstar. do we not have on started? we could have made this equipment not able to work besides just taking hammers, which is what we saw. the majority of this equipment was damaged by. yeah, well, the humvees are not the issue. i mean, they're going to eventually, they've gotta be service, takes a lot of technical, it's low technology, but it still requires servicing. the m wraps be given their design characteristics i thought was, would be of interest to the iranians because they make the shape charges and they need to know how to counteract those things. i think eventually it's going to peter out. but my concern is what, whatever they've done with more sophisticated technologies such as my vision number one, because that is really we have the top of the line and night vision. but for the
2:36 am
most part, the equipment that's rolling down the road in, in iran right now was basically given up by afghan security forces and then to the tell up on the telephone and then sold it off. that's what i say. this is the secretary of state this i know what is so hard. taxpayers paid for it all. exactly, but this is what's why people don't trust right now is whether you're talking about this entire ask in withdrawal where they said everybody was gone. they weren't there either. the secretary of state's not talking into department of friends or their purposely mis guiding, misleading the american public for what the situation they're trying to trying to play it down. they're trying to low kid, but it was a disaster, but it was taxpayer paid stuff. they want to read. in the meantime, we're going to raise our taxes for more stuff. i mean, it's an unmitigated disaster and, and we should have that the whole practice of how we got out of there should have been done differently. and i saw the hearings today. they were trying to blame the trumpet ministration. but he had a plan. he had a conditional plan to,
2:37 am
to get out that wasn't mentioned by these democrats on the committee. so it once, once again, it's double speak by, by this administration. unfortunately, they're not telling the american people to truth and they just keep that and downing on the lies. and i think that's why people are having a hard time with this. and they told us to run this equipment has been seen in iran at the same time. around over the weekend agreed to let inspectors and let these camera card to be replaced. but does that actually make them fully functional? and that me now that we have trust that they're on is they're not going to be continuing their nuclear ambitions. well, under the well, they're going to continue under the j. c p o, a, the, allowing the, the access to the monitors is the minimum under the j c, p, o, a. so i e, a, i e, a can continue to give them continue monitoring can, can, and it stays in effect. the other countries that are signatories also want iran to
2:38 am
be in compliance. so i think under that kind of pressure, particularly from the russians, iran agree to do the, the bare minimum. but there's clearly something going on with respect to enrichment of tech of uranium, radium, and it's, they're going to develop us a good start, a fairly good stockpile. right now they, there's no evidence that they're going to, to upgrade to the 90 percent level, which is weapons grade, but 60 percent, believe it or not has a legitimate medical purpose, but that is contrary to the j. c. p. a. if there, if there's a possibility that they went back to the j be, that means they've had to go back down to 2.35 percent iran way. has it far exceeded that? so who takes up the enrich uranium, the russians know we've moved on, and now we got to deal with what is now and that seems to be what's holding
2:39 am
everything up and, and because we did not, if they did not do the minimum there, the talks would have died well and the whole idea was the americans were going to center them again and that was obviously been the wrong hope to be able to under this administration, repeal the sanctions that are causing a lot of the not going to happen. and in fact, they've been able to run the sanctions, they're looking eastwards. so they have found ways to counteract that, even though it's still hard on the, on the general population. but they're look at eastward and they're going to hear from china, helping them out. and they're rolling with us, pat taxpayer funded vehicles. on top of it is michael is always a pleasure to speak with thank you. was mr. maloof alluded to at $3.00 trillion dollars. that is the actual costs, the domestic investment plan being proposed by congressional democrats to help expand social program for children and the elderly was combat climate change. now the specifics are still kind of lacking and what the programs exactly would look like and where they would see the additional budget. but we do know how it's going
2:40 am
to be paid for. so it goes to $360.00 view. we bring an author and economist, richard wall and former official in the us trade representative office. steve. now i know there's me a spirited debate about our sports, but this also is something that can be up for debate, considering we're talking about a lot of money, a lot of debt that our future generations are going to have to pay for. both of you don't take that lightly, so i want to start with you dr. wolf. how do you like this new proposal in this new corporate tax rate, which would take present terms 21 percent to 28 percent, but it's still not as high as the original 35 percent that we saw in 2017. if res won't those costs like always just trickle down to the workers and consumers. and we do really think that these billionaire corporate guys are going to actually sell one of their mansions to pay for this tax increase? well, you know, an economics, we understand that yes, you're right, corporations will do everything in their power to pass the burden of these higher taxes, whatever they end up being onto everybody else. they do that with every cause that
2:41 am
comes down the road anyway, to the maximum extent that they can put it a little bit in historical perspective. in the fifty's and sixty's, the corporate tax in the united states was 50 percent in the eighty's ninety's and into this century it was 40 percent. so we are now down to less than half of what the corporate tax was way back then when our employment rate was lower, our economic growth rate was faster. we were promised, wonderful things would happen if only you cut the taxes and corporations. the wonderful things didn't show up, but the in the quality in the country went crazy. so i think something has to be done, probably more fundamental than tinkering with the tax. go. ok, so you look at that, you look at what, what will says as you go ok, can we take some of those same things that we use back in the fifties and sixties with a higher corporate and apply it to times today?
2:42 am
would it have those kind of same results? but the doctor was also overlooking the number of deductions and credits that corporations got in those time. so it was not an effective 50 percent. right. actually, one of the reasons that we've eliminated most all of those loopholes is to make the rate more accurate to what's being paid. so the bottom line is that when you raise taxes, you do cost jobs, you do costs the economy, make it less effective. now there, when we look at what happened when the tax cuts, when we did see an explosion of growth at this particular time, when you're seeing a slowing economy rising prices, rising inflation, more risk to our economy, people being laid off or refusing or being fired for refusing to get back seeing, it looks like the buyer did ministration. the democrats are following the same effect of policy. do are absolutely deplorable abandonment about the game. say, i think it's the same sort of planning we saw there. well, and i think dr. wolf has, as steve mentioned, would not be. what is your problem or do you think would be a good idea to do this fair tax,
2:43 am
which is 0 deductions with that actually make more sense and deliver some of the same results. so this is supposed to deliver now because again, it's a more fundamental problem. i'm a little bit amazed at what the other speaker had to say. the reality is that the promise benefits of cutting taxes haven't shown up. we're in a very bad economic situation and we've been cutting taxes and corporations for the last 50 years and almost everybody would agree that hasn't worked out as was promised by all those folks who did it. but you're quite right. if we had a flat tax, then there would be the return of the corporations through their lobbyists to regain as they always tried to do the deductions, the exemptions and all of the usual paraphernalia. corporations don't have one plan . they either escape attacks of it's on the books or they use their lobby is to change the laws so they can escape or they simply hide their profits in tax havens
2:44 am
around the world. we've documented all of those things, which is why i advocate making more basic changes. if you keep giving a small portion of the people of enormous amount of wealth, you can't really be surprised that they use it to control the laws and the procedures to hold on to it. that's your problem, and you're not going to get around it by adjusting this way or that way. well, and that's the thing, have you know when it comes to a doctor who was talking about, but also talking about just the democrats manager of paying the fair share. why not keep that same kind of philosophy when it comes to social security tax, which is extremely low due to the benefits that it's currently paying out for this recent port? i know you saw that said it is to run out by 2034. why not apply that across the board? well, 1st of all, i don't know how you could argue that the tax cuts haven't worked. president trump came in and we reached with the tax just levels of gross domestic product increase
2:45 am
that the president brock obama said would require a magic wand. and president trump said, you know, abracadabra, we saw the lowest levels about employment of black americans, some lower levels about employment for hispanic americans, historically low levels about employment. it did work. and for those that argue that we need to have the fair share sort of thing, i would point out that when it comes to the federal income taxes, the top half papers, 100 percent of the total federal income tax burden, the bottom half pays virtually 0 and when you look at the federal income taxes, the bottom half is also getting tax credits and, and, and funds. so actually the bottom half is actually making more than they're paying . and as long as you have a system where half the country is pulling the wagon and half is riding in the wagon with, with no cost, it's not surprising that we use waste fraud and abuse because half the country didn't pay for that. you know, to do a poll that people, should the government pay for this, or that's why people will say, yes, the government to pay for that. if you ask them, should taxpayers pay for that people suddenly have
2:46 am
a different attitude towards it. and unfortunately, half of our country are not actually taxpayers. well, it will be interesting to see alister bay continues dr. world. steve, thank you so much for joining. we'll see if it passes. i think it's still looking at a 5050 chance. thank you. now when your return is a black national anthem being played before every nfl game, actually encouraging segregation, america, well, we will have a spare to debate after the break. the one, the make note, you know, board is under blind number t's bearish as emerge. i was, i really we don't on the back seat world leaves to take action and be ready. people are just common crisis.
2:47 am
we can do better, we should be better. everyone is contributing each in our own way. but we also know that this crisis will not go on forever. the challenges to response has been massive. so many good people are helping us. it makes us feel very proud that we are together. now i have often said transparency for the powerful receive for the bell. this cares about privacy or people care about is power. antonia and a son just become a symbol of the battles of brevity, information is power. that's what's going on and or a huge struggle with governments and corporations who want to keep information secret and other things. democratic rights should be pushed forward and people have
2:48 am
a right to know what to do. watch allison's help to shift the conversation around transparency. see what that battle has done to him. i feel like julian's life might be coming to an end. we are in a conflict situation with the largest and most powerful employer in such a situation. it's remarkable. it's about the, the news, the. okay, so the current state of sports america can because that are a little confusing if you're looking in from the outside. now currently at nfl football games, the 1st song you're hearing upon rising is lift every voice insane,
2:49 am
which has been deemed the black national anthem. at east lake high school and the state of washington as the friday night lights were coming on friday night, students were told they could not have the red, white and blue theme or clothes of these colors because they were going to be seen as racially insensitive and could affect people in a way they could not understand. i'll have the current school principal, and that same 9 trans am a fighter alaina mclaughlin winter 1st fight with a powerful chokehold against a decade long accomplished female fighter. i know you can help me clarify eric mitchells, 1st president of life left media and civil rights attorney and radio host robert patella. thank you guys so much for joining me. things got to go. ok, they should be fine. i want to start with this mclaughlin versus provost m. m a fight. this is the latest and a growing list of formerly male fighters or formerly male athletes dominating the women's sort of competition. so i'm gonna start with you eric on this, is this, or is this fair? is this right now? it's ridiculous is what it is it to have this last by we're talking you meant to be
2:50 am
top of the hour. this is a former special forces operator for the united states military, the finest fighting military in the world. this is who's going out and fighting someone else who's never been in combat. someone you could be experienced fighter, but we're talking about special forces here. and they're going into the ring and playing in this whole new, well, i'm going to go beat up on. it just doesn't make sense to me to go beat upon women because you decide you're going to change your gender. and now hop in a ring and beat them up. that's not fair. if they're going to do anything, they should have their own classification, create a 3rd classification, and then everybody go fight each other use to me. it doesn't make a lot of sense. well robert, that's the thought right now because that's what x we're almost everything is there is a physical element present. would it be wrong? is it discrimination to consider a 3rd gender category for competition in these types of situations? well i think it is one trench under population. the american something like point 0001 percent. so you're, i think the cases that are being high profile because the intention they get,
2:51 am
but you're, we're literally talking about, i think, to the 3 women in the entirety of motor art. and the issue isn't the transgender individuals are participating the sport, the issues of them to they're starting to when they're the transgender, we will, the heavy lifting. the olympus is here and she didn't even place. nobody talked about that because he lost it. so i think the issue that people are having is this idea that somehow there's just any native bandits and then you can pull any guy off the, the, there was a boy we called you want a man, we didn't pull any guy out the stand, put them on the court professional female athletes. and he went just by being a man, how things work. we're still working society, the understanding of the scientists understanding of gender and his role in sports . and they will come to a resolution that we come to results from any other issue or better. ok, so that's my question. robert brown with us. eric, what are the resolution look like? doesn't everything start somewhere on this case. we're for saying this happened and you're right, it's one or did maybe very small percentage right now,
2:52 am
but i rely on the foundation in the future to go again for you see actually these transgender assets being able to compete and win places and scholarships that used to be for females only. eric. this is, this is scotty. this is the woke culture all over again. we're talking about the fellow panelist here. just said, oh, brought up the w n b a. so you're going to tell me we can just put dame lillard and put them on a w and be 18 minutes fair. this is what we're talking about because everybody feels that they a dinna fi, whatever they identify. everybody should play in a league. we can't do that, we play in sports, so we're going to have males feel that they can go already, go into women's sports in college and take scholarships that are already hard enough to come by and go take those because they had now identify as a woman no, that's not fair, that's not how they do are going to have to take that small percentage and keep in mind that small predict is people who have identified and spoke up about it. but if we open up this other category and make it possible, i guarantee the other transgender is that are out there, will speak up and go,
2:53 am
okay, cool. there's a place for me that we can all compete against each other and not deal with any of these issues because let's face at college, sports is already a mass. when we look at women's sports, they're not getting a fair shake with the men's teams. are we taking everything we saw that and march madness the last year? we have to create something to make it equal. but we have to do with the right way and we can go and just go look, we're going to go change every sport we've all played because a small group needs to come into know let's create another division and another bracket and have everybody have there and then there's takes away the issue i do with the whole culture and eric and i think that we do are trying to find where we talk about men that are trans dinner and opinion women support. you haven't heard yet. of a woman changing to compete demands for it. that's what i think it's what shows that there's a little bit of spare. gee, when the reality is situation. that being said, robert, i do want to talk about the separation. do you think this recognition of the now the black national anthem on the same level as the national anthem actually divides america more? can people have pointed that outgoing, you know,
2:54 am
what about the other group is? are we one nation under this, this, anthony? and if you don't like it, then let's at least fix it, but let's fix it together or not start separating us out. what's your opinion on it? you know, i've an interesting because this is you came but when i think bill mar talked about this on his show a couple of days ago, i think this were minus people. the do not have to be a conservative to be a white supremacist. someone like bill mar, considers and stuff, a liberal, but the only thing that he's liberal about when it comes to african american are muslim or other minority issue, is ensure that they continue to vote along democratic party line so that you can get his agenda passed through the idea that somehow you are separating people by recognizing the history that has listed in this country, i think is ridiculous. let's remember we 3rd verse to be told us star spangled banner, national anthem. we're going to read it. no refuge could say the hare la and the slave from the tear of flight and the gloom of the grave and storm mingled banner in triumph will wave over the land of the free and the home of the brain. how that
2:55 am
dividing and separating people were talking, waving a flag over the grave of death, slaves. so when we say we want to have the, the black national anthem plate is simply a recognition for all of those who with before, who are denied opportunities and make sure we recognize that our nation was floor in the past. and we work everyday becoming more perfect union that has not done by ignoring what has gone before us. well, my, our question, erica, i'd love to give you a chance. of course, we gotta run around with questions. but what about all the other diversity that we have in this country that we welcome our boards? and what about the hispanics? what about those that are different other nationalities today, deserved to also have a national anthem played at the nfl games because they're obviously playing in the sport as well. but that's comes to me. it's continue. tell me. thanks for joining me. thank god, i do want to end of this on a non controversial happy note of sports, and one of the happiest essays right now is daniel med begged. med who just sat down exclusively with our t america. steve chris tacos following his big win at the us open. it doesn't
2:56 am
matter which one you in major is a major no matter which surface no matter which country. but of course i actually do like playing in a, you're say not only major spots all the term and i usually play good or in some of them when show them already, like the condition. so i knew that use open is always a good chance. made 3 straight semi finals, and i mean it's just super grade to finish it with a win this year. that's what i said after comment into this. i mean it's, everybody asks me how does it feel to be the 3rd time i say, well hopefully i can do better than the previous 2 years and i managed to do it. yes, it does. it does seem like you have an affection of love for the city of new york and the fans, even though they do give you a hard time. they do have you. they were even bullying that points during your survey routine. did that affect you at all? or did that just motivate you? yeah, it was not easy, especially for that, but now we didn't have phones for some time. the things that they supported me through all it all the week i lot and there was no love hate relationship this year
2:57 am
. and i think they just, it was not against me. they really wanted to, when there was a lot of surveying phones in the stands, it definitely was not an easy moment, but that's what makes it even sweeter. and that's all the time we have for today. thanks for watching. using me. ah, ah ah right now there are 2000000000 people who are overweight or obese. it's profitable to sell food that is fancy and sugary and faulty and addicted. not at the individual level. it's not individual willpower. and if we go on believing that will never change. that industry has been influencing very deeply. medical and scientific
