right here on our to america. let's get started. ah, thanks for joining now. we're going to start today show with new photos posted on the pentagon information service, which reveal a for chinese warships which were selling in the waters off of alaska. the for ships including the most advanced destroyer, sailed near the aleutian islands, august 29th through september 1st, but did not enter us territorial waters and were tracks a whole time by the us coast guard. so why did the pentagon post the photos and then take them down just hours after posting, and how does this play into the continued activity by the united states in the south china sea? while to help us with some answers, we bring in a former counterterrorism officer drew request for thank you so much for joining me on this. hey, thanks for having got a real temperamental area that we're dealing with the south china sea. we know that
9:31 pm
going into it. so now let's talk about this recent event that we're just now kind of finding out about. chinese analysts say this could be seen as counter measures against the us military provocations that they've been doing on china doorstep supposedly all. and this name of fairness, so does the u, the u. s. has actually south china sea is international waters, china objects to that? so how far are both sides willing to continue to push in order to have their way? well, that is the question, right? i mean this is, this is a big deal. well, we've seen that happen in the south trying to see what their strong, arming their way into a thing with lars. everything is ours and saying, well we've got freedom navigation, we're going to push back. we're gonna let you know that we're here. we've got our presence. it's been a big deal and then you see what happened just at the end of this past month in august. and it, does it bring things to a new level? obviously, no one wants international conflicts or a global war, but right now you're seeing the chinese posture themselves and say, you know what, we see a weakness in dc and we're going to push hard and as fast as we can to accomplish
9:32 pm
more. we saw this from, from big stayed enemy actors during the obama administration as well, where they got as much accomplished as they could during those 8 years. they're doing it again now because they see weakness was and i think and speaking of their bar ministration, while of all isn't all the see actually appointed general miley, who just had just come out talking about revelations that when he was chairman g for joint cheapest, at which he is under president trump, that he actually secretly told his chinese counterpart in a phone call that he would give advanced warning us was ever going to attack. and i wanna make sure i get this quote right. if we're going to attack, i'm going to call you ahead of time. it's not going to be a surprise. i've tell you a little a couple people are kind of shaking their heads of this, you know, why would the us give china a heads up if they would wait, we're going to do that. and would that not increase the danger level for the us military involved or any operation they did considering how valuable the element of surprise is in these sorts of situations. 0100 percent. i mean this is not, this is not how we operate. this is never how we've operated. we don't negotiate
9:33 pm
with here. we don't tell our enemies what we're doing. we don't forecast in any venue what we're going to do. we just do it. and we do that in the name of national security and protecting our interest. so this, this news has been huge a little bit of a lot of questions that we should all have for this current pentagon staff is national security staffed by the ministration and how they handle this. i'm probably, frankly, have handled everything. but this right here tells you a lot, and there's absolutely no reason whatsoever that we would do such a thing. and this has to be looked into further with, without a shadow of a doubt. because this brings, this should bring concern to every american, regardless of political affiliation. because like i said, the problem is, you know, you look back and having a road or to the japanese actually said, hey, by the way, we're going to attack pro harbor they sent it after they already attached pearl harbor. the cable actually came through this case. we would be giving them advance in the questions, you know, not only the chinese, but any of the situation were basically revealing where we were going to put them in the american military involved and little bit scary. back to the south china sea
9:34 pm
though. you know, they're usually the naval facility located dilution island took up more than 76000 acres, not a small place. it was actually used to surveil submarines during the cold war. so very key place president, clint did shut it down a part of his base shutdowns back in 1997. do you think that we will see that this us reopen is based considering the escalation of tension that's happening in the south china sea? well, that's a great question, scotty. i think look, there's been discussion about it. even with this current administration, what's gonna happen with it is tbd. and to be clear, there has been some operation still happening there training, training, and otherwise that's occurred at that base since it was officially closed down for its intended purpose. it's, but i think the answer is yes, it shouldn't be opened. we shouldn't be taking a stronger national security posture. we shouldn't be protecting our shore lines and our american people in our interests. the question is, if it's done, is it being done for the right reasons and not just for some other brother pad,
9:35 pm
some bank accounts with the new defense contract? i don't know. i all believe it when i see it if it's actually been opened, but when it, if it is in fact open, i think there's a whole litany of other questions that need to be asked about why and what the intended purpose is are. and are we actually going to use it for what it was originally intended for? and the question that i hope would be asked beforehand before we say ourselves involved again in another long term situation, always ready to talk to jury, thanks for joining me. now for the 2nd straight day, us return of state anthony blinking is answering to lawmakers over the evacuation out of afghanistan, the secretary blinking double down today center the us intelligence committee did not foresee how quickly the taliban would take over afghanistan. but your guys, do you have reports from co bull on one topic, not getting as much attention. what was touched upon in the hearing that much was the, the humana, terry, and situation here would have got to stop. which is to put, again disastrous, because there is,
9:36 pm
there is of the prospect of collapse and on the political front of the social product, especially on the humanitarian front hunger. we're talking about cross country you in itself. it says that more than 10000000 afghans a 3rd of the population, the pedagogy about his hair and 8, and they have no insurance the tomorrow, they'll be able to eat. and bearing that in my and both the taliban and the world food program have said that food store, positive, got installed, will run out by the end of september that something is done. i mean, you, you take a walk down the street here and in capital duty, louis as well as teachers, professors begging for food because they haven't been paid in months because government accounts have been frozen internationally, especially in the west. and the taliban has nothing to pay the way i want to get his take on the test for a re bring in a political sultan, a j brian or j j. thank you so much for joining me on this. and even watching these
9:37 pm
testimonies from blink and i believe or not people have jobs, majority of folks have not been able to watch the last 2 days. that's why i bring people like yourself on to tell us if there was anything new that we actually learned from lincoln's testimony that we have not already heard stated from the bite administration and talking points at this stage. well, i think whatever village is from is missing its idiot, because everything i've heard from the current secretary state does not make any sense. it sounds like he's offended the indefensible. even a lot of the people that supported by didn't agree that this withdrawal has been a complete disaster. we've had thousands of americans, trillions of dollars to decades wasted for 9 if they were going to withdraw from the country, which they had other options, they could've kept couple 1000 troops as advisors, like the military strategist recommended. but if they were to do this withdraw, they could have done in a better way. instead we have a disaster. yes, they got
9:38 pm
a lot of people out. you don't know all those people are. but there's a lot of people who are dead or will die standard the taliban because we've left them themselves. so this undermines american credibility and i'm really discuss it with. ready this administration all situation, well, the blame game is starting to happen and like, you point out, this isn't going on for 20 years. i do believe both sides of the aisle do share some of the blame in it. but the majority of the democrats last today specially took this line. this was all president trump's fault because he said the initial deadline. i find it funny because they've kind of gotten rid of everything else trump did. but this one they're going to stick with. do they have a point, however, our republicans properly countering and pushing back though, on this point, the trump, this is all trump salt. well, who knows? it would have happened if trump or stone office, but the fact that they're even playing this blame game. there might have been a deal. there might have been a plan to get out now, but you are in charge now. you can't pass the blame. someone doesn't have power anymore, this is a terrorist organization of this deal was made with for better or worse. so we
9:39 pm
could have done something differently than we start to a hard deadline that a group that has been causing havoc and chaos, and lead to 2 years of non stop war made us and now we see everything they're doing, having a terrorist minister in their government someone who's committed suicide bombings, kill us, and people. that's the kind of regime we have here. so we're probably talking about this. i don't know. i think they have a point. but at the same time, you know, this whole situation just been a complete disaster. and you know, i like to say, i'm proud to be an american. this makes me disgusted. that's what being an american stands for. and it's, it's disgraced. well, and that's the thing that, you know, multiple things. i've listened test, so the blank and i said both the house tests ready. i can honestly just following the stories in the very beginning in the past month. i can say that's false, that's false. you know, you talked about the equipment, not working condition, we see it going down the streets of iran. americans were not left behind. well, we know that they were, and some centers actually from both sides of the aisle,
9:40 pm
actually some harsh words from to say, tell me what you think a j after this. let me turn to the focus of today's here, mr. secretary, the execution of the u. s. withdraw was clearly and fatally flawed. did that discussion ever come up in terms of maybe that wouldn't be a good idea leading all that equipment behind as we bug out of afghanistan. that assessment came in july, much of the equipment. and again, i'll defer to my colleagues at the pentagon who are more expert in this than i am. so i want to ask you, have you submitted your resignation regarding this issue? i have not just like jimmy carter owns the disaster of the iran hostage crisis. you own this and yet he really did not own it in the last 48 hours of his testimony . why do you think they're blank and not be aggressively fact checked by the majority of the press and others were watching this? and what could that mean actually for future military operations that he decides to
9:41 pm
get the americans in? i mean, we're only and not even year one yet of this administration. well, sadly, i think this shows that the press always has double standards. in some cases they are calm and now and that's for everything. but by and large, they're getting a free pass on this. we know they have an agenda for the most part. not everyone ask the question you do unfortunately, but we don't have a media like we used to back nationally meant something. so i think this is undermined the american credibility. we have our allies overseas talking about how we, especially in the u. k. there was a speech by mt, they're saying how horribly the administration of hamlet and that's our oldest now, and they're talking about how poorly we've done this. so america has to leave. what we've shown is we will abandon you your allies. we will give up, we will surrender the terrorist. that's not what this country stands for. and frankly, it could signal the end of the us as a superpower. this is the sort of policy we're sending and in a country like china couldn't take notice of that. and that could be the trends for the future. so it's unsettling. and i'm really concerned right. well,
9:42 pm
a jack completely can are said a, you know, it's interesting during this conversation blank and actually said we consulted with nato. we told i'm going but wait a minute, you already have the leaders of both of you. k, france, germany all coming out and saying this is a disaster. we would not want to be a part of this. they are making sure that america, rightfully so, takes a lot of the heat for the last 6 weeks. and what's happened in that country? always good to talk with you. thank you so much. now when you return, governor newsome's name might be on the ballot. but why does the election have a greater meaning regardless of the outcome? we will debate after the break the i think it ometer, we're going to see something remarkable going to senior economy. take on the g d p and it's about to explode higher. and that all ratings about to go fully bitcoin hyper pigmentation and that's going to filter up to some bigger countries is going
9:43 pm
to go global and we're all living to something that is absolutely remarkable. in the 19 twenties and thirties, several 100 african americans moved to the soviet union. and many of their descendants still lived in russia law. never to be. i chose for nice things. was that richard lum duck back home, black american, something from racism, and a complete lack of prospects. a just said iraq not, but not the real, be losing one by one by the food. so they decided to leave everything behind and start a new life in a country about which they knew almost nothing at all. some of the african americans who went to service union in 1830 found great success, monet blown to me. and now
9:44 pm
9:45 pm
the victory could be made. california voters had the chance to remove the 1st term, democratic governor gavin newsome from office. but will it happen in this blue state? or the correspondent natasha suite has more from los angeles. the entire country has a close eye on california today as a recall election is happening with over 5000000 mill and balance already return both supporters and opponents of governor given new some are showing up. so please vote to recall this man vote yes when the recall larry elder is just one of several contenders. looking to please, gavin newsome as governor if is recalled from office. this decision is not as red and blue as it seems. it's not just republicans who are dissatisfied with the governor's term criticism of newsome seem to grow by the waking panel. the panoramic in the state. in addition to keeping small businesses closed down longer
9:46 pm
than the rest of the country. you may also recall the scandal that occurred after newsome told california to wear a mask in between bites while dining outside. he was and spotted at an extravagant restaurant in the bay area with a group of friends not wearing a mask. while he did on up to it, support for him would never be the same either. we both know on this recall or in a matter of weeks. the next governor of state of california is larry newsome spot is so fragile that even the president came to the west to encourage people to vote no on the recall. before stopping in long beach, california body was faced with over 1000 protesters in idaho. the eyes of the nation is not hyperbolic the nation around california because the decision you're about to make is going to happen. that's going to have a huge impact on california is going to reverberate around the nation. and quite frankly, not a joke around the world. larry elder came to attack newsome's policies,
9:47 pm
announcing the states issues have become worse under his rain. so we've got a rising crime writing homelessness and outrageous rise. the cost of living, declining the school standards. we now have 5 seasons here in california. the 5th one is the fire season and that's because of the poor management of our force, even says newsome could have done more to help with california is excessive drought . we're having a water shortage here in california. we have an added to our water infrastructure in about 40 or 50 years on this date was habit size, but in long beach monday, knew some attempted to derail elder's proposal. to do more but more than 5000000 early balance cast out to be 22000000 centre registered voters in the states. what are the chances of a democratic governor actually getting recalled in the recall? the reason why this is such a unique position, need cartoony for republicans,
9:48 pm
is that they don't have to win 50 percent of about 50 percent plus one. they just have to win just a sliver. it's all about whether newsome is going to be called and there are 2 separate questions on the ballot. there are $46.00 candidates looking to replace new, some $24.00 of those republicans now with president biden in town. there is no doubt this election will have a major impact. but newsome isn't the only one with powerful supporters. elder was also joined by former actors rose mcgowan, now she claims that newsome's wife tried to persuade her to not go public with information regarding the sexual misconduct of harvey weinstein back in 2017 reporting for news news and how she sweeps our tea stories. let's get the $360.00 view of the california recall and bring in a syndicated columnist reuben of art and radio show host brocklow. thank you so much for joining me. joining me. but you think you're ok to start with you for art with realistically, like republicans feel like they could win an estate where honestly they are out. number 2 to one. yeah, i think i think we can win and we have
9:49 pm
a very good shot at winning. so myers are not rep and cheating involved. that is the ultimate condition that we have to. we have to make. i mention the fact is that interested a lot of the recall those the petition were actually democrats who are seeking to alex, to gather newsome. they are with it just as much as republicans are, and understandably so they have kids also who allows the schools they have to deal with the homelessness. they have to be with crime when they see so straight in their face. it's very similar. it's my mind that's what happened in new york city with governor start with mayor giuliani, who voted for labor. got such a great simply set up with the situation. the california is very upset up right now . the fact that we have to become the 1st place and the fact that it's going to be very realistic chance the system will be recalls. that's the thing room. and you know, you look at 6 months ago a year ago. obviously when their hypocrisy was being shown with governor nation, actually eating dinner out with friends, but everybody else has been locked at home. that is then i get the anger on both
9:50 pm
sides. but recently he's done some amazing things like, oh, i don't know a lot of school to open up really pushing all of the limitations that he'd put on. he's even sending checks, refund checks, or stimulus checks that are just out of california budget. so do you still feel that discourse in the streets of california today that you might have felt in 6 months ago when this kind of movement started started? yeah, the answer is no. i'm. i'm someone who wrote for gavin newsome last time around 2018. i had nothing to do with the republican party in california, still don't. and yet i supported this recall, right. i'm pro recall, but like a lot of california, i don't like what's behind door number 2. and that's the california republican alternatives. and i think for gavin newsome has proven again, is he here the lousy leader is a lousy governor, but he's a great campaigner. he's great a politicking. and he has outmaneuvered out maps and outwitted the california republicans who really are the gang that can't shoot straight. i would disagree with brock on one thing. i don't think there's any chance at all. the for wisdom is
9:51 pm
probably true. gavin newsome will succeed today. he'll be back this recall. i'm not saying he deserves to the republican party, really bundle the execution of this campaign against it. and that's what i want to bring up for. because sometimes republicans can be known for not being too smart to give strategy regard selections because they split their vote amongst multiple candidates. one of the 24 republicans, really 5 main ones. it's got a lot of attention. so did you, do you think the fact that there were 5 main candidates on the ballot help or hurt the mission if there was just one person running against? do some, do you think would be a better situation for the republicans going into election day and certainly would be a little bit better. but it turns out i really do think this is a binary election and even gap newsome seems to understand this. he said, if you do recall me, you're going to have a larry elder as the governor, larry elder is for all intents and purposes, the choice for governor, at least among the republicans, and certainly among those who are fighting against lucy. and i think larry elder is
9:52 pm
a fantastic candidate. i disagreed that he's not a good campaigner with your other. my other gesture, i think he's fantastic. i happen to know larry elder, he's a good friend of mine and i think he's almost exactly the right issues. he's speaking to the issues that the people are very concerned about, and the very thing that caused them to seek a recall 1st place. we're going to windows, i feel about it and i feel it's very much like the briggs ceiling where we thought that was going to lose. but sure enough one that might be very well the situation here. ok, well let's look over though to brocky, to room and point at this point. i mean good to room. and to brock's point, president biden came in at the end and campaigned, now he treated even out today. so do you think that either he was coming in because of desperation that he said ok, i need to get some push or be is it coming in to say i want to take claim because i know he's going to win over well, and i just want to show the foreshadowing and 2022 of how popular democrats still are with the people, which one was it. it caused biden to go to california
9:53 pm
a ladder much more the latter than the former. he knows that gavin newsome has this when well in hand, he wants to be able to ride the train in. i think it's clear if you see the way they read each other on stage, the big untold secret godaddy. democrats don't. like gavin newsome joe biden doesn't like got a new some nobody like you have a new. he has arrogant and ignorant and that is a bad combination. and so i think that what you see from call them a hair coming harris to joe biden, to many other people in california, and elected officials, who are democrats. there is no love for gavin newsome and i don't think that joe biden has fond of you have a nice them either. that was cleared the way the cold way in which they greeted each other. but i do think that he felt it was an obligation on his part as president to come in to make an appearance, you know, was a lackluster speech. we've barely coherent as president by intends to be in many cases. but at the end of the day, governor somehow, so i think this victory well in hand. i larry elder, the friend of mine have done it for 27 years. i think a lot of him, but it takes
9:54 pm
a lot. it takes a lot to be able to never run for office and all the time you're running for governor. i mean, give politicians and both party a little bit of credit be the republican or democrat. there is a game here. and the people who've been doing it for a long time, like gavin nuisance and doing it for 30 years. i mean you're going to be better at it, certainly than some novice and off the street. but get some novice off the 3 day get elected in 2016 nissan novice for the business span. non politician. i think that's what all those politicians look like. that kind of gives them that hope that dream on both sides the aisle. that being said, i'm going to give you probably the last word to you on this one, brock bigger picture, regardless. they win or not. do you think that this is actually going to be something if, let's say gavin's able to hold his see, the democrats are going to go into 2022 and go look, see we've still has momentum. republicans, they're not as popular as they make it out to be. do you think this is actually going to be used to be more of kind of a to push both sides going into 2020 to the spring board? almost. yeah, i think that's a great point. scotty and i do think it's going to be yours to the fact that you
9:55 pm
are a governor and you've been sought after for a recall. that's a big deal and it really shows a lot of space and it's going to cripple him as he move sword for, for his own reelection as the case may be. i do think it's a big problem, but more to my fellow guess a point. one thing that we're forgetting is also that larry elder, and this is a good thing, we're forgetting about it in a sense, is african american. and that is going to, in your, to the benefit of the republicans, especially it's larry elder, because the black boat will consider that strongly to have the possibility of the 1st black governor, california. to say nothing of the fact that he's addressing the issues as he really needs to. i do think he's going to win, i think will be surprised. well, that he's already sent out his every campaigns already sent out kind of, here's where i'm going to be. make sure you join for all celebrating. i do actually have a quick, 30 seconds. i'm gonna let you have one more quick comment if reuben will gavin nation change? let's say you back in august, will you see his politics change the remainder of his term or is he done? i do not believe i do not believe so. i mean,
9:56 pm
he has arrogance. he doesn't believe he's done anything wrong. he lives in his own world. and he really does not understand. he didn't get the message he should come forward tonight. say, i hear you. i made mistakes. i'll do better. but that's not given. newsome, and there are in for you. do you brock your feeling if he doesn't win? i think he's exactly right. i don't, i think that's what he should be doing. you're saying that i learn my lesson just like you said and but he will learn a lesson and that he'll feel more involved in the, you know, the old down on the screen is all the next lecture hall leticia and learn lessons. that's funny guys to keep up with that. thank you so much for joining. good luck today. that's all the time we ever show. thanks for watching continued conversation on. * a twitter at scott and hughes down the portable dot tv app for your app or android phone. later. ah, i

i have often said transparency for the powerful receipt for the last bit about privacy. what people care about is power. juliana sons is become a symbol of the battles of brevity. information is power. that's what's going on. a huge struggle with governments and corporations who want to keep information secret and others who democratic rights should be pushed forward. and people have a right to know what to do. watch houses help shift the conversation around transparency. see what that battle has done to him. i feel like julian's life might be coming to an end. we are in a conflict situation with the largest and most powerful employer in such a situation. it's remarkable
