2:31 am
. a little girl matter because i don't want the cause. the choice of shirts underwood while you're complete, it's not normal. quote is researcher books and listeners denise and leave to show the hey folks. next up on dennis miller plus one, we've got cow brant. he's one of the cortez of genial hosts over the nfl network's good morning football. and he also has a new show coming up on peacock, which is nbc, a tributary, called frogger. and it's one of those obstacle course shows always
2:32 am
a lot of fun. we'll talk to him about soap opera acting, which he also does and the kid, those football out the was zoo cow brand right up to this is dennis miller plus one . the hey folks, welcome to dennis miller plus one. now list that i have not enjoyed a football cortez this much since. jack mildred, greg pruitt, joe wiley and lee and cross white were run in the bone for the sooners way back when. but the show over on the football network called good morning football. and well, they just lost one of their, their for musket tears is a great show. this is great. he's a tv house broadcast or media personality. i see was acting in a soap opera which blew my mind. i think he is also got
2:33 am
a new obstacle course competition show. can't believe he beat the craig kilborn not for this but kill them or give me a call frogger now streaming on peacock. i live in 2020. i live in the future. when i say frogger is now streaming on peacock and everybody knows what i mean. this is called brent. how are you just here for the leon crossway roughly. so i didn't know whether it's the leon out of the box or dick has a mirror and cosmo jacobo ozzy, but i thought i thought i'd work my way. android. oh yeah. did cashmere heisman trophy winner back in the day. he's in the esteem the club and you are in the esteem club. people get to talk about frogger and peacock, and that is a real english i believe. i mean, i think it really is a quandary because the nights gotta go. i mean, these guys straight ahead what's knocked off a year and i find nate infinitely well, i shouldn't say,
2:34 am
but i think he'll do great over there. he's done that broadens this whole thing. but are you going to stay with a try? are you going to look for a 4th? i don't know. it's like do we just do the full, getty lee like rush power tree. other thing? i don't know if we got the pallet to do the fly by night thing, man. i think we need a new guitar if we're probably going to add some other kids. good to the i always think of him as jason, like a foreigner, if he was being portrayed by errol flynn, he's got the dashing, sort of help. but the young lady kate, i think is their name. i would get a for so i just you guys are so welcoming. i find somebody who could play and i think they could play in that sandboxes. it's fun. you guys strode around beautifully and we're just so use the 4th and i'm a big fan. i watch it all the time that i hope you get a 4th, but you can't let it be anybody. but you got to find a ride, frankly, because you guys have chemistry out the resume. well, thank you. yeah, we don't want to make the,
2:35 am
the gary sharon mistake where we're like lee roth and hagar. we can bring in anybody eddie is the pallet. ah, did you listen to that van halen? bree album? neither did i trash. so we can i there is you're on the go away inside on the references. i'm excited. i'm dealing with a fellow ebbed over here and it's i listen dennis. i'm taking this thing over, i have to put my cards on the table. you or someone when i was young, who i thought was so cool because you did the comedy and you did sports and you did movies. i'm like, i want to be like that when i grew up and i didn't take a step further during the course team, everybody's been in this show and that show whatever. i went back. i started watching football games and i pulled up the youtube back in the fall of 2001 the jets and the dolphins played on monday night football. and it can't be known as the monday night miracle. you were in the booth and i laughed my ass off, man. i loved that era and i hadn't visited in years. but man, you talked
2:36 am
a lot more football than i remember, it wasn't just wise cracks and these server references, you were really into the game. and at the very end of the game, right, anybody listening. 8 over time games, great. come back when it football history. john hall kicked the game when the goal for the jets and al michaels and all his gravitas says, and that's the greatest game we've seen and monday night football, good night, everybody. and then it's got a start blow dry and couple of hair, and i just lost it. i laughed out loud and you said that an a, b, c, and you just killed it and then they pay the black and it comes couple right. and you got it was great. well, thank you brother. i appreciate that. i got to tell you a quick, i'll be in a story when you're al has grab a time. we're doing a minnesota biking game one night at chris carter. but arguably, the who worked the sidelines better than anybody. the fred astaire keeping is faded by hurts that i go on one of those sketches there, wrapping it on the sidelines that a guys bandage and on the air out, who is
2:37 am
a genius? a tv brought is like gary away or certain guys just know how to d t v. but if you make them laugh, you can gather himself. so i spent my whole 2 years there to try to get them all off the script. the start to laugh and people will love that at home. so i said, you know, al, i haven't seen that much fabric used as they put the guys bandage on his ankle since the environmental artist christo rap the pont, new bridge in paris. and now it's just nice but which cuts his voice out of the home the already looks in the booth. it goes. what the are you talking about? all are all myers done in the truck and he self an artificial. not on my phone. i hear. no al christo, environmental art is solid. reference that reference ok. 6 months ago, i thought if they could hear this at home, what the cal branch of the world would allow my guy, huge content as gold, gold they call those, you know, they go those easter eggs now and these d, v, d 's and stuff like that, i want a d v
2:38 am
d dennis miller commentary on monday football games. i'll pay through the nose for my math. awesome, that's very kind to you tell me about these shows. it's funny. i've interviewed a couple guys who host the ninja war warrior, and i am so touched when you watch the info. they said, yeah, you want to brush up on what somebody is doing. so i watch them. you know, you can kind of from a far be an intelligence disparage in this endeavor and then you watch it. and i was so touched by how much these participants wanted. i don't know if progress will be like that, but at least on that choice, i got these people busted. i can't believe how hard they work. they get to the finish line. their kids are their, their wife. it's might as well be the toward to fraud, since it's a little more touching. some of these competition shows that i would have thought. yeah it's, it's like it's tiger hugging charlie on the 18th green at augusta and finally, winning another master. there's some of that. i think dennis, i think you're all over, people are ready to do what we do now and make fun of things that just tear them
2:39 am
apart. and then you watch it. you know, like, wow, this is a mother of 3 single mother and you know, all, my gosh, just competing, but then don't get me wrong. she's going to jump off the head of a hippo and do a triple flip. and we're going to laugh about it. but look, you work in this thing long enough and you've been in the game for decades. you hope that someone ever comes you with a cool opportunity and the moment i knew, i'm like, i think i want to do the show. they said to me, they're like, so here's where think and brand. we'd love you to call the action like it's a football game, but go really heavy on my eighty's movies references and i'm like you came to the right place. i am your guy. i will do monday night football meets the breakfast club and if you want to pay me for that, i got you and that's what we did. that's cool. and i got a, i can't believe david wayne's junior's now host. michelle, because i work with david wayne senior. who is one of the sons of bitches. i've ever met in my life. and now his kid, the kid he used to bring does tell me about his chops, the funny, like the old man. he's really good looking like the old man, really funny,
2:40 am
really observational. it's a weird thing dentist because when they 1st told me about the job, it came through and it was like, it's going to be you and damon away. it's like our, i love david way and you know, in that blank man and the last boy scout living color like a little bit older than me. but i know all the stuff and i didn't notice the junior . so i showed up and was like, you're not dame oh daemon with junior and i say he gets all the time, but he's just like his old man. you know what i loved about it. we had a lunch, i never met him before, and we sit down and we're talking to the weight chairs, and we order whenever and is our get to know your lunch break the ice before we work together and try to create some kind of chemistry. and i just try to tell you right now, man, and i was a huge living color fan. i was all your dad movies. i was all your uncle is movies . i love the be white checks and. and he could have been like, yeah. and he was like, i love what just do the movie as well. it is like, i was like, right off the back, i do it. and so he was so cool and so laid back,
2:41 am
you know, it's like you go up the cooper man and they're like, i love you like it is like, yeah, i know everybody does and he's cool about it. that was when junior, i've listened tv insist you develop chemistry and there's nothing more petrifying if you sit down at that 1st lunch and it's like, lead right off the bat. you're chris. now we have to contrive chemistry. if you actually have a rhythm with each other right off the bat, i guess she just got a lot easier both. yeah. we're going to yeah, but sure. and alyssa, that i'm like the old oakland a's when they, when 3 championships at some point it's about wedding. so i could walk either phase on if it's going to be somebody you know, don't really like in the locker room. i can make that work, but it's always a little easier if it's more convivial than that. we are family pop, star, jordan, boys, you know it's, it's always easier to do it that way. then we hate each other, but we're going to we're talking to calibrate and he's got this new show called frogger. it's over on peacock. you should give it a tumble,
2:42 am
but the money show for me is this good morning, football thing. now he also sees, does soap operas and i believe a princeton boy, and i'm just trying to think when you know you're talking about ice died when you 1st, when did you have show because your vide, was that it or what, what was what was in your mind when you press when? yeah, i mean listen, most of my friends are economics majors that are now on yachts right now, watching this on their phone and their strong, why fi and their yacht? so thanks for watching. i would have english major dennis i, i went, i went that route and you know, it's funny that you mentioned the hollywood thing and einstein, he's got his all history there. the big deal when i was in college was remember when howard and russell crowe made that movie a beautiful miner. professor john, now he was actually there and he's died now, but he was there, you would see him walking around campus and he was just as eccentric as you think.
2:43 am
and i remember that was really cool because when they came, when i was a senior and russell crowe is unset, shooting the movie, like right on campus. and i was an extra in that movie because i was a student that i was around. and you can see me behind russell crowe. so the 1st professional set i was ever on was a ron howard set with an academy award winning wrote, it wasn't, you know, some dumb the world perkins lamps. yeah. i got like the champagne, se, so i'm like, i think i want to do this. and then a couple years later i was on the nbc on days that it was not quite the same but a little bit. all right, we're talking to cal bread and the new show will come back and we'll talk more about football this season coming up. but the new show is an obstacle course. competition called progress over on peacock which is one of n b c's. i remember for a while, disney, when they wanted to do a film where they showed arreola, they send it over dimension films. and i'm sure that sure i would nbc say anything that they considered to be the staff tributary and putting it over. and the point
2:44 am
to mention was the aureole, the subsidiary. i don't know this stuff. give me an example. there are movie or in that at r e. old. i had to go to talk about it during the break. this isn't a good. i need to know that we have over here right after this, dennis miller plus one the when it comes to the rise of china, most of the commentary focuses on such things as strategic balance and the web, so called rules based order. however, what is missing in this discussion is the rise of a civilization that challenges western gemini, is the west prepared for this arc of history. you know, life, it's diverse. that's what makes it interesting. when you have
2:45 am
a monoculture, it's dangerously monochromatic. like when you have only one strain, a banana and a banana gets sick. and now there's no more bananas because there's no more diversity the hey folks, welcome back to dennis miller plus one, having a good time with cal brent. he is a tv host broadcast. you've got a new show over a peacock called frogger. it's like an obstacle course competition. he is on the best t v show on the air or the bus football show on the or my mind. good morning football on the nfl network. and they, they had a cortez. now they have a trio looking for a 4th, but i guarantee it's an entertaining way to set up the weekend football. let's talk a little football. and, you know, i was thinking 17 games. it's so funny. i was listening to the nfl network as i
2:46 am
drove in today, and they were talking about records, they're predicting just so funny to hear somebody say, i think they're going to win the division at 9 and 8. and i'm thinking, geez, the times of change from when i 1st started watch and 14 and it makes me laugh at the most say shot in billiards that good dallas pulled off. he over hugs, kids draft night. all they ever say to them is listen, brother, i can't play thursday. i get my kicked on thursday. i've got to heal up and then they said 16 game school. maybe keep it there though. who is the big go? i'm paul. well, we love it. he started them on thursday, 17 games people are careening into each other like tron, for god's sakes, i was just thinking, i think the 17 has to be it. i know they want to make money, but they're going to get these kids beat up at this point. your thoughts that i know you can't say anything. he gets good. it's reached pick, pick time. i think i put and yet dentist, i don't think they're done. there's still still some meat on that bone. i really
2:47 am
mean that it's, if we're going to do 16 move the 17. is there really that much of a difference between $17.18 personally, i'm with you. i have spent my whole life same. maybe a tenant 6 they can get in the playoffs. wow. they were 13 and 3, and every time i participated someone's record. now i have to say i 9 and what the hell is now it's it's, it's a tough stumbling box. and you mentioned the thursday night football thing used to be and i know i know a lot of players and we actually communicate that the 2nd the scheduled come out. they look for their by week it, did we get screwed with the week for buyer to be get the late one. it's not that anymore. they look and they say, when do i have to down the damn thursday night football game? they look at that before the by that tells you they're more concerned about the short week than they are, be in the over the water cabana, wherever they're going on the by we, that's where we are right now. yeah. because you know their guys to get kicked out a month sunday and they need to be in a whirlpool with a slip for the next 6 days. just to get it out there the week after. now they're
2:48 am
not allowed to have the pot, which many of them say, listen, i don't want to, i don't want to take some of the anti and florida laboratories and the things they want me to say. i just want to kick back and get it together way, but they're going out 3 days later. and like i said, that was pulled off. one of the great mr. x of all time, extensively being the carrier carrying avuncular grandfather. but having these guys know the 17 games and some more players that you know what i was a kid, jimmy bryan game, 1700 yards one year and 14 game season. you're talking about $130.00 per, you can get a 1000 yards of the 17 yard season at 60 yards, a game which is complete. that used to make you a 2nd string here. if you got 60, it is screw the record book up in some ways to reminds me of you know, my grandparents saying that they bought their 1st home for 20000 dollars and 900 such. i'm like, all that. so romantic. that's like you're in for a 1000 yards by what we 7 like what, what are we dealing with? we're going to have a, we're gonna have a $6000.00 yard pass or maybe this year dennis, it's ridiculous. but again,
2:49 am
we're going to get some more games. i'm telling all the things that are off like it's never underestimate the reach and those hugs they pay off. man, those dr. my hugs or know are now, you know, i watch the 247 show or whatever it's called. and well, how can i say this? if i was a football player, there seems to be a certain guys have a why the v about football, i remember cower had at the tune. i had it. i remember when that kid from ohio state came up, terry glenn and its 1st season he played for the tune up in new england and they said, how was the kid today? and he said she was ok. i remember they all, my god. and then glen, on the back end of the career, comes around, he's a free age and he can play wherever he wants. he goes with the tune and down in the big di because he wanted somebody to get his face and do the great santini. and challenge him, and i think the guy should play a robust brand of football. i think listen,
2:50 am
these guys are putting themselves in harm way. they at least want to feel that they're like sort of in a rough sport. they're rough guys. when they over think it, and i watch some of the shows where the coaches are correcting them on technique after every play. and i'm thinking maybe the coaching staff a little less is more sometimes it feels over manage to me for such an innately violent game. your thoughts on the current state of pro football? fascinating and i are the storm right now and what you're talking about is new york city, because we got both. we got the unit yang, this guy, joe judged for the new york giants there, coach. he will give you your pat conroy pick, pick up basketball in the driveway. taskmaster. i know i love conrad. i love santini. i love them. are beach music. however, jo judge, this guy is retiring because he is what i call a touch the line coach back when you're in high school and you're running gas or if you do not touch the damn line, we're going to run another one. i don't care if you're making 13000000 a year. he's dentist, joe judges. they keep the tape on coach, either coach back in the day. we're after our practice. we practice like crap. he
2:51 am
storms in the locker room and screams, keep the table and keep that safe. and we're going back out when we go back out and do the dumb practice again. now that's jo judge, he's going to have the rider dye with that in the same market in different colors. you have robert sala roberts, sol as a beautiful, bald headed man who has a fascinating background and is player friendly. i don't care if you touch the line, you can have a cell phone break if you want and, and we're in, it's planted perfectly because everybody's in morning about judge and roberts, our come on say, oh yeah, we had no pads that a light practice. the guys you're really good about their bodies. watch the new york media 2 sides on this because you got year old tune there. and then you got sol who's this? sean mcvey, cliff kingsbury and type player friendly dude. and we'll find out which one works. i haven't done, it's going to be the new got folks, if you're not watching that show, you saw perfect encapsulation. why this kids the bus, the football announcer to the times. we live in cal brad. he, he thought you were mediately located where it's right in the same city across the
2:52 am
bridge and delineated it perfectly. that's exactly it. and well, that's why maybe they don't need a 4th host over there. maybe they've got to give you more time to breathe, because that was a brilliant insight into that. now listen, i have test. i was reading about the sean watson. they're kind of in this weird place now where, what did i hear the phrase? hold out. it's now hold in where they combo they can get all the, you know, the, the benefits of it. they're not holding out, but the team itself is stuck in an odd place with it. i think they even kept him on the roster. when they talked about the shawn watson having a contra home with the front office of the east and texas, does anybody stop to think? i never hear anybody say, maybe the sean watson knew what was trying to get out of houston. maybe he knew that there was no happy ending to be had there because he paid for every happy ending in the city over 2 year period. maybe whenever they think,
2:53 am
what could they have said that the sean watson got him. so i think he knew he had the blow dodge, i think he knew he had burned a lot of bridges. they're not in place here. i like cali, i'm happy got the shot. i mean, they talk about the rooney roll good for him. this is a life or the guy did is i hope, i hope it goes. 7989, something that's respectable and it's a good a story done there. i get watson out of time tomorrow. what do you, what are you going to do? he's not going to play for you again. i got a marchers outside the stadium, so i would move on from your thoughts on the show there. listen, i love to do that to a and that they're saying, hold on a 2nd. we're not going to get our clock cleaned on this one. if we're getting rid of this great grand player, we're getting something for it. and everybody else is saying, we're not giving you anything. work is we don't know what the hell the guy did criminally. everybody's pair, likeness and dentist. fascinating in the sports media, wherever, when he just lining up to have the spice your take on everything. there's crickets on that because no one wants to totally vilify him, and no one wants to totally exonerate him. no one knows what the hell to say about
2:54 am
this, but here's the strangest curve on this is why to watch the texas june, why to father's john watson. so he's on the team, nor contract. he's healthy. he's there. but they won't play him. what happens if a couple days before the game or the night before the game, they're starting quarterback gets a close contact is cold, but it can't play. they're going to start this rookie davis. no, he's turns his ankle in the 1st quarter. he can't play to shine. you got to get in . you have that. i'm not going in. yes. you are. it's like they've got to drag them by the ear lobe. i've never seen a stand off like this. and this year of all years, the quarterbacks are done. you find out that i, for the game, you can't play, you need watson, he uses the play. it's so bizarre, man. and that's, that's up every alarm. and the universe of the shot watson is called in to replace the starting quarterback because of a close contact incident. irony alert, irony alert, irony alert deep. let's talk a few of the games here. well, let's go right to the super bowl because i'm running up against time. listen. if
2:55 am
you put more homes, his own man wasn't that comfortable on the mound. you put my homes in the pocket and given time and they've loaded up on the offensive line. he's strong for 400 again, my thing. and the only thing you can do to upset the apple car to scare me all human beings. it's flee or player flag and you get around his knees. and that's what check lawson did. that's a no comment. the dime a consumer did linebackers a b stand there. i see it be in the same super bowl i think. and until somebody freaks the kid out a little and my homes looks fearless, but like i said, anybody gets scared when you're done around the ankles. i don't think anybody stands a 10th chance against them. who do you see in the super bowl moms and that she's sexy is how of course and this is not dennis, but all 5 of their office of wyman are different from last year. all 55 for 5 different guys. you don't see that on any team, let alone and team when an a f c, which is why i don't think kansas city is going to make it. and i'm going to take a ride. i missed early ninety's flashback memory to western new york. i think the
2:56 am
buffalo bills are the one, the super bowl that quarterbacks that good. the team is that, well built a coaches a no b s or is kind of a little bit of a keep the pay bomb while also being let's have yoga math practice. so it's like the perfect then meeting. and i think buffalo, yes, buffalo is going to win the super bowl. it's crazy. well, listen, i love that pick to brother. it's just shut me up so many times. but i can see if they do make the super bowl. i guarantee they're bringing tasker and to give the pre game speed at that point it's all about not. so we're task because again, not everybody's jimmy kelly, not everybody's thomas or andre is you'll have all those specialty kids jacked up. they'll be running down there on the 1st kick off and just unloading so i can see buffalo, it's just more homes is shut me up so many times now. right now, certainly a kid can't be that's good, but i got to go with them. but i do like brady in the tampa over in the yeah. like what's dumber right now. betting against brady are but it against the homes. you
2:57 am
think your pick? it's like back when it was tiger, the field on the pga. you always go to feel young, go with some other maniac. you go. but i'm going with the field in this case. yeah . with braiding over there, it's like the teen photo of dorian gray, where he just at this point he just never came. half her age is what it on believe a laugh like listen, this kid's the best. they're called brown, and i don't want to pull the other names. i just don't know names as i know the young lady's name is kate. what's your last name? k adams. peter schrager and tv in the 4th chair who the hell knows, maybe you dennis. we'd love to have you list that i if i'm ever done at all, i'd like to come in and say hi to you guys because i'm a big fan, but the show is called good morning football. so on the nfl network, if you're sick of the today show and all this anxious jesus, every day i'm trying to start my day with some fun. these people are still doing it over there now. now host a new show called frogger obstacle course competition over on the peacock kids on the come line. they better he'll be over there with nate burleson. they'll both be
2:58 am
doing that show eventually you'll be like bryant and young man over there eventually. good to meet your brother. then. like i said, then it's been watching for years of always admired your work. thank you so much for having me. i'm thrilled to be your bus one. all right, brother. dennis miller plus one ah. driven man across the board to defer to focus bittman no ball here but me. oh oh oh i
2:59 am
ah god ah me. i understand. i huh. right now there are 2000000000 people who are overweight or obese. it's profitable to sell food that he's fancy and sugary and all the victims . he's not at the individual level, it's not individual willpower. and if we go on believing that will never change that obesity epidemic, that industry has been influencing very deeply. the medical and scientific establishment, ah, what's driving the reason?
