a look forward to talking to you all that technology should work for people. a robot must obey the orders given it by human beings, except where such order does that conflict with the 1st law show your identification. we should be very careful about personal intelligence at the point, obviously is to race trust rather than fear a job with artificial intelligence, real summoning with a robot must protect its own existence with a there is no doubt they have quarter has been devastating on the job market in the united states are good 4300000 workers quit
12:31 pm
their jobs in august signaling the beginning of what is now being labeled as a great resignation. and almost every industry has been impacted by staff, quitting in droves with those in the retail in the restaurant industry thing. the biggest accident now in september or 994000 jobs were actually added into the market. however, that was only half of what economists were hoping for, even expecting, which brings us to october and the implementation of president jo bided mandate for businesses regarding the coven 19 vaccination for their employees. the reaction has not been well even though many companies are being extremely created and how they're portraying their conflicts incorporate these day that's already challenging environment for employers to navigate. just becoming more complex as a power battle now has emerge between state and federal government, as well as private versus public corporations. with the union in between funded 8 news view, we're going to take a look at the current state of the job market and the various issues mode,
12:32 pm
writing chaos within multiple industry. we're also going to follow up to a story from years past as new information confirmed law enforcement and cartels work together to capture torture and murder, several dozen students in southwest, right. so in 2014 years. and we're going to give you at least 360 view of these issues right here on our tea america. let's get started. ah, thank you for joining us. i think it's a very important issue because it's something that affecting americans from coast to coast, even other countries around the world covered 900. it did cause the job market to go on this downward spiral, which has resulted in a short but very drastic recession, which erased 22000000 jobs within just a few weeks. there's been a gradual rebound up until this last quarter when preparing demick issues combined with post kind of challenges have created basically
12:33 pm
a series of very unfortunate events. that situation involves the airline industries and specifically southwest airlines, which has caused the cancellation of more than 2000 flights. now southwest wasn't the 1st. as an earlier this summer spirit, american airlines had their own issues, which they seem to work through to discuss what is going on to bring on captain dennis k, her the allied palettes association. thanks for joining me captain. thank you. pleasure to be with you. i've got a lot of tap dancing around on this question. so i'm just going to ask the obvious what is going on with. busy south west and the relationship with their pilots right now was life for american, but boy, do we know the relationship problem that they have? there is no tap dancers may affect the ceo. southwest said they just didn't get it done. this is nothing to do with the mandate. the pilots who we know very well. they're just down the street from us and our dallas headquarters. there was no activity going on. they just could not connect pilots to the airplane when a weather event happen. we fly in the same airspace. we had issues but not as deep
12:34 pm
the darker south west did. but boy, we had that all through the summer and you had mentioned, we seem to have gotten through that. we're not through it. what happened is the weather got better, and in the fall, the weather is always more gentle here in north america, but it takes in, in a winter, and we're looking at that right now. i'm very concerned about the ability of our management team to give us the tools just like the southwest to want to get out there. matter of fact, they were flying over time. they were jumping all over whatever flying they could get. but american or excuse me, shout quest management could not connect them to the airplane after a weather event. and they blame some atc air traffic control issues. but all of those, those groups have responded with, hey, it wasn't that big a deal. what happened with you? so the ceo at southwest had to admit that it was on them the they even mentioned, it wasn't on the pilots. and well, we appreciate that, honestly, we've seen it from our management team. the end result for our passengers is or if it so it's got to change and we've got solutions need management to join with us
12:35 pm
not after an event, but before it happens or not the thing transparency. i think the lack of possibly is created this, but you have to bid. there's a lot of there's a lot of questions going on right now. concerning the timing of this happening. obviously florida to big market for southwest, but it's a big market for american airlines as well. so do you think southwest is really being transferred and you say it's not about mandates for the time? is there, could this have been handled the better than what it was over the past because there were a lot of people that were stuck in situation, especially south florida, even i've been to carolinas. that had a real difficult time trying to get home near right. then there were pilots out there right. with them get back home when ever plan on being home it you know fine hotels, it couldn't find hotels. the companies wouldn't, didn't arrange for it. it was as if it was day one of an airline, and we've experienced that at american airlines. so we read that. we just swap out the names and it's the same management excuses. they weren't ready for this
12:36 pm
recovery. well, you know, we talked this is a supply chain issue, and the good news is that, that people are ready to fly. they are flying airplanes are full. but management did something during the pandemic, and they deflated their infrastructure and they have not gotten around getting it back online. and we know where some of the problems are american. and we're trying to solve them with management, but they're not showing a sense of urgency. and this mandate is not helping we are not anti vaccine, but we're proposing an alternative to get through these holidays and extension. that is very rational is very, you know, the mandate is not for every airline. it's only federal contract, airlines in american united delta, all contract out to regional affiliates over half of their flights. so the stick that, hey, you're going to be on a mandated airline. do you book on american united, delta likelihood is you're going to be on an airplane that isn't mandated and the good news is no matter what you're saying to fly. we've proven that during the pandemic mask and airflow have worked. and ultimately,
12:37 pm
that's the most important part when you're up in that high in the sky that you're safe of there and that you have a qualified pilot that is piloting you and he'd happy to be there, at least mostly happy, great chatting with you captain. always thank you very much. now along with the issues falling workers in schools, there's a shortage of school bus drivers and some experts believe it might be a bigger issue than one thought or 2 correspond. natasha suite explains the country as a school bus shortage has been a problem in the making for years. as companies like amazon skyrocketed during the pandemic finding drivers. now it was even more of a challenge that kids are getting back to school. there have been issues surrounding math mandates and things getting back to normal in general. but now is what's considered to be normal is still being figured out. a shortage of school bus drivers is plaguing the country. according to a survey conducted by the national association for people transportation, more than 50 percent of respondents said there are countries drivers shortage with
12:38 pm
either severe or desperate strengths or hitting different counties as drivers are asking for higher pay. after hearing of a plan strike in marilyn's, calvert county school district officials said they had a plan meeting with leadership members for friday, a local school bus driver there says not everyone can do the job. this is like a car pool or steroids. you have to be a counselor, a referee cheerleader disciplinary and you have to do all these things and pay attention to traffic and maybe read their directions. and even with finding bo, this is up for grabs. there has to be a break and hiring some experts have discuss less than the requirements needed for drivers. prince george county in maryland held a virtual job fair for bus drivers, hoping to lower them in with just that on top of paid commercial driver license training. the shortage has become so bad that the retired f b i, director michael mason decided to jump back into the workforce as a school bus driver in chesterfield, county, virginia,
12:39 pm
entering the pandemic. many bus drivers who were laid off jumped on amazon's escalation for demand. but getting them back in school buses may require higher salary, on average bus drivers make anywhere between $18.00 and $35.00 an hour. that's an annual larry a $3756000.00 a year. but school bus drivers aren't the only ones looking to strike john deer, one of the country's largest manufacturers, agricultural machinery and heavy equipment, failed to come to an agreement sunday night over a new employee contract and now joined. your employees are set to go on strike on thursday, after record profits totally more than several $1000000000.00. union officials say they believe the company should increase the wages for workers. there has also been a shortage of drivers, transporting goods from ports around the country. so the white house is calling for the port of los angeles to become a 247 operation to relieve the shipping backlog. containers have been sitting off the port of los angeles with an average of 6 days. once cargo gets here to l. a.
12:40 pm
it's like taking 10 lanes of freeway traffic and bringing it down to 5 lines. we're still moving more cargo than ever. but it's not enough because of the buying power of the american consumer. the 4th of los angeles in long beach combined had some 40 percent of cargo container shipping into the us. official shipping traffic is only expected to increase in demand with the holiday season right around the corner, reporting for new if you choose and hot sweets r t for more on this branch of north michigan conservative union. thanks for joining me, tom. and thanks for me on. well, currently, it looks like we are going to see john deere workers, a striking there failed to reach a deal. so $10000.00 workers will be on strike. but john, you know, we knew that following the pandemic, our workers in the united states actually more trying to correct the ills from pre pandemic. or did they come back to probably what some are saying, a more hostile work environment. i think we came back to a combination of everything when it comes to not just the john deere employees. we're back to the school bus drivers. my mother is
12:41 pm
a school bus driver for years. the school bus drivers are actually a member of the teachers union, not like the u, a. w, or the teamsters union. there are a member of the actual m e, a, sorry, wrong. and i apologize, but the bus drivers are members of the army a, so they're not really representing bus drivers. and when it comes into the john deere union, you gotta realize some of the unions aren't fighting, are standing up for these people, civil liberties as they come into work. and they're not really pushing for the wage increases. and that wage increases is happening without striking all the way around, john deere, there's a lot of private, non union organizations that are, you know, where he just right now because the labor. so it's just something where the companies with you have to keep up with what's happening in the private sector. what will be interesting, you know, but one of the things that i want to look into is how government, if they're helping or hurting because jobs require training and certification. the government seems to be slowing them down. just as the red tape of your coffee is still in place, in fact it's getting thicker. do you think government is actually being
12:42 pm
a really wants to make sure that they're open and things that the people can get back to work? trying to require private businesses to, to, to get the vaccine mandates. the mass mandates. all of these different things. a quick solution to that. let's pick the theme to union. it is a private organisation. it's not ran by the government, the safest drivers on the road across the entire country by car accidents are members of the teachers union. for example. we could accelerate this by putting the teamsters in charge of the bus driving and drive restraining the truckers union training and get the driving portion taken care of very quickly, very safely through the schools that they have or another white private organization that doesn't have to be the union, when it comes to the john deere, it's just what's happening around at these workers are seeing the hiring sciences. they come into the job locations, which makes sense. and now they're seeing the profit margins go up and that's what happens with the union. so on strike in michigan, we have a hybrid where you can go and right, we have
12:43 pm
a right to work set up as well. that allows the companies to so work, but the unions to do a partial strike. so put a little pain and so there's better negotiation for the company and the worker at the same exact time. well, tom, thank you so much for joining us on us. and we really do wish all of those that are out there fighting for a better work environment. they actually are able to keep their job and find some improvement. thanks for joining us there. okay, so there is no debate about how the pandemic has changed, how people interact with each other, both personally and professionally. and it seems as though working conditions which might have been rock in the past, have now turned into the grand canyon in regards to treatment of employees in the level of toxicity in many industries. and doesn't hollywood, it's those behind the seeds actually. who are just not going to take anymore from a current offer on stone joint this now, you know, we mentioned 10000 john d are on strike. you're looking at, i think a 100000. i'm seen. they're about to strike in hollywood. those are not the names
12:44 pm
which people know. however, these are the people behind the scenes or an are just as important if not more. and they said this strike, it actually cripple the entertainment industry. how are you looking at this? well, it certainly would essentially we're looking at as i see, which are basically the all the workers, all the crafts that go into making a film to film is basically a few actors. one director, if you and full of producers and hundreds, if not thousands of people involved in every aspect of the production that you don't see. so as the i, c is now the verge of going into strike. it looks like next monday, unless there is a last minute agreement with the producers. yes, essentially, as i understand only a couple of studios like hbo would be able to continue because of their their deals, not expiring, but netflix and many other studios will be shut down. it seems once i does strike, well shawn, that's the thing that i know. like with the show you people see my face, that there are more than 2 dozen people behind the scenes that are incredibly important. every single person makes the show go on the air. do you think the
12:45 pm
hollywood celebrities can do more stepping up for those? want to do that? i know i would go to bat for anybody on this team that would need it. do you think hollywood hollywood celebrities or should do more and trying to fight for the case of the people that actually allow them to do their job? honestly i have seen, i mean for the most part i haven't seen any celebrities necessarily attacking the workers in this context. in fact, i've seen a lot of support from jane fonda south road and people like there's a lot of actors that you know, that i know our support been supported. supportive of them. because we, you know, it overall there's a realization that yes, we depend upon everyone, it's a team effort. it's not about the, you know, the egos of a few individuals. ringback and so when the overall, the, the demand that he is making are very reasonable for the most part, i mean they're basically saying, look, it's a grueling process. when you make a movie, you're looking at 12 to 16 hours of the day. if you're, if you're one of the, the truckers for example,
12:46 pm
if you're part of the cost keeping up, you may be even longer in the work grueling hours. and so they're basically saying what we want to have our wages reflecting the amount of hours we want more turnaround time. we want also the pricing because new new media stream re, right? whichever one watching on netflix and everyone's watching. now new media pricing is different. it's cheaper, they don't pay their workers as much as you would on a movie. so they're saying that's not fair. you know that everyone is netflix is making all the, all the, all the money they're bringing it, they're, they're making, they're producing all these emmy winning shows. we need to be paid equivalent. equivalently, as what if we were on a film production of the new media concept at all? it was back when netflix and other things were streamers, were starting over a decade. well and all they think are like, you said, are very, very reasonable. and more importantly, they want to just be appreciated. and i think that's the end barger, they just want to be appreciated both financially, but also just, you know, in, in words themselves, sean, always good to talk to and i wish them the best. yes, indeed. factory short break,
12:47 pm
we're going to look at the very sad story of the 43 missing student teachers and why justice never be served when we return ah, ah ah ah oh. but i was gonna say to go, could i still go? he did. who bought? i bought a dial tomorrow, a couple of pretty than you know, quite by that. i know from paul additions to athletes and movies. does the musicals does it seems every big name in the world has been here less yearbook ms. euclid corpus goes to school. ah, what do i show him?
12:48 pm
why didn't you get the call but i need to finish with who does not give me a glove. would you support that needs to you? said basil makes dreams come true that every one who falls in love with people like what mm well it was september 2014 when 43 students went missing as they traveled to mexico city for a protest or has been confirmed now as the students from a jo to the napa were on a bus, which happened to be a part of a drug running operation, which would carry
12:49 pm
a huge car of heroine across the us border eventually. and a student to teachers accidentally stole the load. now, recently, text messages between a crime boss and a deputy police chief, reveal the cops and the cartel work together to capture torture and murder. at least 38 of the 43 who went missing. joining me now is to discuss it. eric ra hopefully retired army colonel, positive security consultant, and it knows mexico very well. just spent lots of time down there. thanks for joining me on this. my study nicely. we would. well, i could tell you this as i've looked more and more to the sorry, it's just absolutely depressing. it is sad, but just actually infuriating that we do not know more. busy about and nobody's being held accountable, accountable for. so help me out here on its latest batch of text messages, you know, did they confirmed me on a reasonable doubt? what many who follow the story were already suspecting or did it raise more questions? it's a little bit of both because it's been like that. so they want to the moment that
12:50 pm
the students and i call them bugs because if they had not been doing something illegal when they got caught in something much bigger than they where they'd be alive. but that's something that has to also be understood, but in any case was they found the hands of the local mayor of the local police and then all the other cartels. they found the necessary to eliminate them. i'm not sure what reason. but bottom line, i don't think we never know the real groups because there are too many people involved. well, and that's, i think currently even you just say, you know, your response on that makes bring up the questions that i was reading last night. and i've been looking into the story more and more. there are different people. it's not just as simple as students on a bus and winter protest, and then they were massacred because on their bus happened to be a bunch of heroin. it's more complex than that. so why can we not just get out the truth? is it a mixture of p r, or that just because you have very powerful players involved, that we cannot get
12:51 pm
a full straight story in this situation? well 1st we have to understand the level of corruption in all of next week and it starts at the beginning. there is hardly anybody who was completely clean. so we got to the story where the students supposedly stole the bus, went to your, to that part, to your protest, something with a mayor, the mayor was having a bigger than he did not. he and his wife did not want any launches on the activities. so they asked for the students to be taken out of the scene, but they ended up taking that taken out completely, but apparently went from from the petitions to the police, maybe to the army then to the drug cartels. i guess at some point they decided that whatever the students might have had to say was more dangers than have him eliminated. and so here's what everything becomes extremely foggy. it goes,
12:52 pm
no one takes responsibility. no one is willing to prosecute with reasonable doubt. so now they have become monitors of the endless cos which unfortunately there are many in mexican colonel like said so many questions. like you said, you continue and you know, there was this recent u. s. meeting with the mexican official security council. do you think this will have an effect on whether or not the us can actually trust? what is going on in mexico? well, this conversation even happened involve this issue, or is this something that we slipped under the rug as well? it is nothing is going to happen. the. the mexican government has proven that in spite of president lopez over a lower speeches of grubbin, he and his family are beyond corrupt. kevin, it is corrupt with the principle of both the premix and the federal next
12:53 pm
release with the commission, a very corrupt people. and the president is trying to strengthen their position rather than go back to the previous administration. that was social corrupt. well, they've had made an effort to privatize so i think that the over the secretary of state, last week with all of the other marketing officials, came, came up with local pools gold. i don't think they believe themselves that anything is going to change or kernel will continue to have you on. and if you hear anything else, please let us know. thanks for joining us. ok to be would. so on wednesday, captain kirk k. william shatner became the oldest person to reach space aboard the new shepherd for thanks to jeff phases, back the company, blue origin, independent drugs as the bank is in west texas, from not far from one site and joy. those are the details. i'm here in van. we're in texas and if you look just beyond me, you will see a rock at a blasting off into space carrying william shatner separate parts. you know,
