again, mass, a lot of the social issues that are going on in society that have been a long time affecting people, causing deaths, housing, long time ambulance weights. there are lots of issues that are underlying this are we just like co overtake fewer the government instead of mandatory a covey vaccinations. what would you do to convince people to get a job is not so much about convincing people being and people it be mandatory. i think it's more about giving people the choice and given them all the information that they require and letting them have the choice. stay safe, well out there and thank you most of all as well for watching us rios appreciate it, reporting for moscow cavalry on the team with she a great rest of this friday and a lovely weekend. but we hope you stay with us too because we're going state side of the break for news views. hughes. oh, i was the economy working for you. we were told this is the time of the great reset
8:31 am
and build back better. what does this mean to you? how does the green new deal play into this seems the richer only getting richer? but what about the rest of us? with as over 1000 central american migrants make their way closer to the u. s. a. northern california sheriffs is he will no longer work with eyes to transfer immigrants who have committed crimes will tell you why. plus a payout for those impacted by the flint water crisis. but is it enough? and transcript release from disgrace, new or governor andrew cuomo, as office will dive into what some of the women said. all that a more right here on our t america for
8:32 am
hello and thank you for joining us this evening. i'm in talk to a sweet city and for scotty mail hughes. tonight, a northern california sheriff is receiving both praise and criticism over his bold statements. he said he will no longer comply with immigration customs enforcement when it comes to transferring immigrants who have committed crimes. he said, quote, the change is being made after we heard from hundreds of residents who shared their perspective on how we will be safer when the entire community understands. the sheriff's office is here to protect the public, not enforce immigration laws. now this comes as at least 1000 central american migrants are away heading to the us this week. so i'm making a stop in the mexican state as well. haka. let's turn to our 360 panel to dive into this topic a little deeper. we welcome in ad martin president and phil is shadley eagles and
8:33 am
the publisher of pro american report dot com. and alan or the attorney for it, american immigration lawyers association. thanks for joining us gentlemen. good to be with you. so let's start with you. what do you make of the sheriff's comments? and is he contradicting himself when he says he cares about the safety of his community? regardless? if they're an immigrant or a citizen, shouldn't we focus on reprimanding criminals? yeah, 1st of all, i mean, his statement is comical on its face. he's going to enforce the laws just not the immigration laws as if those laws don't matter. on the other hand, let me say that, you know, there's now about a 20 year history of the american government working in a way that allows local jurisdictions to make decisions like this back in the bush here. or they invoked 287 g. a provision in the law that allowed a local law enforcement to act as ice agents and detain people. it was very effective. i argue a lot of people should do it and more and more to
8:34 am
a local jurisdiction should do it. i think this is a good example of people and elected officials in certain areas are going to make decisions about their community. they should be held accountable at the ballot box . i think it's wrong. i think it's a major mistake. i think he's ignoring that there are lots of crimes that come from people who are here illegally, not every one of them, of course, but i think it's, it's obviously politics where he is to get to be elected. and i look at, in other parts of the country, the sheriffs are going to be a tougher on the law. they're not going to ignore the law. and in this case, i think it's okay. the bigger problem is we have a range of prosecutors and sheriffs in this country that don't want to enforce other laws of violence and others, and that's a bigger problem than this one at this time. tariff and alan, what do you make of the timing of the sheriff's comments as more care and are heading toward the us border? right, so those stories are not linked together in any way or fashion, right. what someone locally integers, dixon for people who've been here in documented for years as nothing to do with
8:35 am
arriving immigrants coming to the southern border. as a matter of fact, thousands of iraq every day at airports. and we also have a large survey sort out those individuals or that the people who are robbing to apply for safety asylum or a visa or committee a crime in or criminal. so people who are coming to the southern port are coming to apply for be those they are not criminals, per se. and you know, as permanent, i'm just saying if they end up do committee to crime when they are in fact in this country, what does that mean? i'm just asking you about the timing. if there was a coincidence, i wasn't making a, i don't think, i think they're totally unrelated stories every fashion. i think it's someone who understands republican party. well, i thought with a member of local jurisdiction choosing what laws are best for their own. well being, it's something that's very hard to republican party. it may be in the federalism that we sort of existence elected official heard from the people are like him and said it's better that people are able to announce somebody problems that may be
8:36 am
minor. all of them mr. leaders that don't need to leave for patient so that people are taking such risks. we've also seen in the black community where they're small crowds and sometimes you don't want to call the police officer because you don't know exactly what's gonna happen next. know and according to the county officials, the sheriff's office coordinated 15 transfers to ice from the county jail last year . so there are serious events is happening, but the sheriff has come back saying that i can still obtain a warrant for certain individuals. so do you think this is a solid plan? well, no, it's a terrible plan and it's a terrible plan because it's, it ignores what exactly what you just said when there's someone who is, has been arrested and is in jail, they should be transferred. i should have to get a warrant from the federal law enforcement when there's an actual violation. but what alan said is exam wrong. we're not talking about a textbook in a law class. when i'm talking about something in a library, we have millions of illegals coming into this country, whether you think they're seeking asylum, or v says many, many,
8:37 am
many of them become law breakers when they either overstate their asylum claim, or they never get one. and that's the fact we now have a problem 50 years ago. this would've been the same problem. but today it's a problem. and the idea that we're not having every local jurisdiction come up with an approach that says the cost to be here illegally is higher, meaning the social cost, the legal costs, so that they actually don't come. it's impossible when biden says, come on down, everybody, but it gets even harder when you can commit crimes and know that one of the things that won't happen is you'll have to worry about your status. that's what we're saying. we're saying commit a crime. you may have a problem, but you won't get in trouble for your status at a certain point. we're either a nation with a border with citizens or we're not right now. a lot of people are headed toward a place where we're not really a nation. we're just stopping place a place to gather anybody calm, anybody else will see it's not a good, not a good path that we're on right now. alan,
8:38 am
how do you see the new measures plane out? really, all of the studies from kato to the american immigration council proved that other get completely wrong on the fax for national. they're less likely to great crimes and some of them actually born here. so therefore, there's no intrinsically between those individuals and crime. in addition to that, this is something that the federal government issues that we should be looking at the federal government to sort of that issue, right? the federal government is charged with immigration and they should have the board are secure and actually finding ministration to turn away more individuals with the black individual and the previous administration. you can title 40 to something that started about ministration, but there are no open borders. in addition to individuals that we're talking about who are documented entry up and documented for 20 years or 10 years or more worth of time. but this is a new occurrence. this weekend, congress addressed the issue, so we want to address the issue to sort of give these people away to be involved in our system, and then to actually elise them for things that matter. so that when we do believe them after they've been in for 20 years,
8:39 am
we're not talking about trying to support them. so that crimes are under reported community and that would be a different conversation. now quickly, according to a poll released this week, 67 percent of american voters disapprove of biden's plan to pay a $450000.00. edelman, to immigrants who they say were separate at the board during trumps era. does this surprise you that, that many people were against it? i know it doesn't surprise me at all. i can't imagine why it's not a 100 percent. i mean what, what is that? what is the thought thinking in our country where someone who comes here and breaks the law gets rewarded for it? i mean it, look, if you're drunk driving and you have your child in the back of the car and you get pulled over and you get taken into jail, they don't put your child with you. they separate you and that person shouldn't be able to claim they get paid for. these people should get 0 dollars and 0 cents. the idea that president biden is saying will pay them something for $150000.00 or some other amount. it's just wrong on space. and by the way he was asked by was asked, how much do you plan to pay legal immigrants?
8:40 am
and he said, well, nothing. why would we pay or his spokesperson did? and of course, that's the right answer. i mean, people that come to america, we're not paying them to be here. if they come legally, ok, what does that come illegally? we're going to benefit them. and by the way, let's be clear. this is classic government handouts. if the a, c, l, u, opposite the department of justice, they'll give them lots of money. the lawyers will get paid and who gets policed. we the people get, we were paying for it because of the bottom. and last thing on our and i will not be in genuine, the more it may be more people turned away because they might be black people because barton is a racist, is what i think. but the real problem is they've admitted by their numbers. we've never had as many people pouring over the border in our history, so they may be turning more away. but that's because we have more the 1st you need to sort of look the report consistently, the reports of people who showed up not the people were over the border. so that's the wrong and the wrong verb as a juror, as i'm concerned with your evaluation of something that's happening before the court between 2 parties, where people are separated because these kids were taken from their parents for
8:41 am
more than 2 years. and so at the jury, you should understand that the settlement that was leak is not from the by an administration, because by the to do it is from the judge. he was appointed and have been appoint for some time. it's not going to be, you know, in the department gentlemen, we're not even here. thank you so much for your time. we really appreciate it. thanks gentlemen. now, immigration issues aren't is happening here at home. the chaos continues at the border between poland and bella. ruth, thousands of migrant, current african iraqis and others have a mass at the border of the you where there are camping out for the 3rd straight night. and while the migrants wait, each side is pointing the finger at the other. meanwhile, russia denies accusations by the european union that russia is flying migrants into bella. ruth r t constance constance steam rose cop is there with the latest one of the 3rd thing that he noticed when he entered the camp is just the smoke thick smoke
8:42 am
from the campfires. and when you spend just a couple of hours in this fix, smoke, you feel dizzy and your eye sore, but these people have to take it in 247 non stop to stay warm. these migrants need lots of firewood, but even cut the tree to live is a problem. if you don't have the skills or proper tools, having something as simple as an ax almost becomes the matter of survival here. where did you get the this all the for the soldiers gave you just gave you just gave you for help go for help. and it's an all hands on deck approach. even children are being sent out into the forest to collect dry sticks and branches for bonfires. wow, good job. but wandering around in the woods can be dangerous. these girls just come back from the forest with blood all over her face. evidently this girl sadly,
8:43 am
with a branch. now she's bleeding and she needs help. but the problem is that there are no medics around. there are no doctors around and really nobody knows what, how to deal with this proper medical help is in high demand, as people suffer from the cold and lack of food. in the morning we came across a boy who was barely responding and a worried mother who thought her son was not going to make it. later the day was stopped by again to check on the family. the boy had improved but still feeling sick. according to his friend who speaks english, yet everybody is determined to stay. but you guys, you have no food, it's really cold and you still think it's okay. it is worth it to get his house here instead of stayed at home at source. why? source, have you ever been to her right now? no, i was asked why you do now about there,
8:44 am
but it's hard to stay resilient when your stomachs empty. lacking proper food, this man takes vitamin. see? he says it helps him to keep some energy and make up for his poor. died of canned food. so we have 3 cans of 2 half, some or 3 men. and that's one can, is day one can for 3 men. so we eat one count for 3 minutes and a little a little bit bread with the free food handed out by bell russian volunteers and the red cross is life saving. but despite all the problems these migrants act is if they're here to state, some of them have hits shudder out of the wind at night. others dismantled parts of the metal fence right in front of the polish armed forces, wire and iron pillars. from the border wall are now used to make bigger and more solid shelters. so what started as a camp now might very well develop into
8:45 am
a small village. and the population of that village is growing by the day is new, migrants arrived. now there are $3000.00 of them at the border with poland. where did you come from? minnesota? they send them for the school camp from comes on. we just don't try to connect to support to friends. negative day. they'll stay with us. all of us stay together till till what will i would do for you just waiting for a hearing stories from their friends and relatives who made it to europe. these people believe that countries like germany and france, would love to welcome them and give them money and support. and with this in mind, they are ready to stay and struggle at the polish border. coming up a payout for those impacted by the flint water crisis. but is it enough?
8:46 am
we'll discuss after the break, say what the join me every thursday on the alex simon show. and i'll be speaking to guess in the world, the politics, small business and show business. i'll see you then in oh, the wrong one. 0. just don't move any world. yes, to shave out. disdain becomes the attitude and engagement equals the trail. when so many find themselves worlds apart,
8:47 am
we choose to look for common ground. we can now look into people's minds. read the question then is what kind of consequence we would take from us. i think you take the example fly, it would prevent us from line. you wouldn't be able to lie and everything becomes transfer level. we're thinking a judge has approved a $626000000.00 deal to settle lawsuit filed by flint residents. they sued the state over contamination of their drinking water by lead and bacteria back in 20142015 bacteria in the water was blamed for an outbreak of legionnaires disease that left 12 dead and at least 82nd ortiz trinity chavez. has more on this story.
8:48 am
a federal judge has approved a partial settlement that will give $626000000.00 to tens of thousands of flint, michigan residents, who for years were impacted by exposure to lead in their drinking water. the settlement approved wednesday by united states district judge judy levy is one of the largest in michigan's history. judge levy wrote, and a $178.00 page opinion that the settlement reached here is a remarkable achievement. for many reasons, not the least of which is that it sets forth a comprehensive compensation program and timeline that is consistent for every qualifying participant, regardless of whether they are members of a class or, or non class individuals represented by their own counsel. but michigan's former mayor says a settlement is far from remarkable. was it a remarkable achievement for the attorneys that got a lot of money? was a remarkable achievement for them. i mean, there are some people that are going to get like, you know, maybe 1500000, those people that have lost their lives. but there are a lot of other people that lost their lives as well. most of the money, 600000000,
8:49 am
is coming from the state of michigan, which was accused of repeatedly overlooking the devastating risks of switching flints, water source in 2014 without treating the water to prevent contamination. at least 12 people died and dozens more were sickened. i went by for a long time ago. this is not gonna happen here is gonna run through the lead. like you're going to have to be replaced, flinch managers appointed by then governor rick snyder, and regulators in his administration. allow the city to use the flint reverend 20142015 without treating the water to reduce corrosion. as a result, lead an old pipes broke off and flow through the tops people work for me that let us all down. and i'm responsible for that, but i'm also responsible for hopefully asking the tough questions and helping find out where those issues could happen. this is one case, i didn't get it, jim, in terms of finding all those threads and putting him together as fast. the way i would have liked to children who were ages 6 and younger will receive more than
8:50 am
half of the settlement, while the rest will go to other affected children and adults who can show an injury businesses. and anyone who paid water bills. attorneys are seeking as much as $200000000.00 from the settlement, but the judge said that will be decided in the future for news views. hughes, trinity sharp as r t for more on the matter we brain. and sarah pap antonio, associate associate attorney for 11 pap antonio rafferty. thank you so much for joining us, sarah. thank you. so there were $626000000.00 to be spread out among tens of thousands of people who lost. who knows how many years off of their lives from drinking this tainted water? is this fair settlement? certainly no amount of money is going to be an option compensate a child who has been basically poisoned by lead for years. no amount of money is going to be able to compensate these people who thought that they were drinking safe water or actually being poisoned by terrible talks in and from the outside.
8:51 am
looking at $600000000.00. looks like an incredible settlement, like an incredible amount of money. but when you divide that number by the amount of people who are expected in michigan, it's going to equate to somewhere between 428-0000 point 2, all $600000000.00 in significant amount. when you divide that up, you're not going to see the amount of compensation that a lot of these people deserve. and so that's why the sentiment has some drawbacks, but there's a whole lot of positive aspects to how it was designed. i really do appreciate, i really do appreciate that 80 percent of the settlement is going directly to those children who weren't poisoned with the lad. it's going directly to the children are going to suffer comment and learning different abilities for years based on the water that they're ingesting. while it might not be enough to to make these people or to compensate them fully. it does have a lot of positive aspects to you really appreciate it. now, do you think the attorneys are taking advantage of the situation here looking for
8:52 am
a large portion of the settlement? so the way this works with plaintiffs attorneys is they all work on contingency fee and not play $33.00 and a 3rd percent. and what a contingency means is that the attorney doesn't get paid unless they're able to recover for the plaintiff in the end. and like i said, it's on that 3033 percent contingency. so this is what we call a find a mega settlement. if we have a big pot of money that is said to be divided amongst the plaintiffs. and so what we're looking at now is, is right, $33.00 and a 3rd percent. but what the judge is able to do with a mega funds like this is they typically reduce the amount of these between 10 to 30 percent. so i do anticipate that the judge is going to reduce but naturally the attorney started at the highest level, but it's ultimately not to be the judge's decision in this case, to reduce that amount based on how she sees fit. and based on the work the attorney put into it and based on the points of injuries. and so i don't,
8:53 am
i don't know that it's necessarily gonna stand it that i think. and does it surprise you at all that the former is speaking out against this partial settlement? you can't blame or for speaking out. of course, she's passionate about the people who are affected here. you have 80000 people who are drinking contaminated water and they're not going to be made whole from this. that's just the basic truth. this is not enough money to make sample. but at the very least, we have to look at the justice that is being served right. we've got criminal and civil penalties that weren't in this case. and so we know at the very least that there is some retribution that there is trusted people accountable. in this case, of course we would like to see people compensated fully. i don't know that that that's a reality of this scenario. yeah, good point therapy, antonio. thank you so much for your insight. transcripts. depicting details of new york's district governor and woman accusing him of sexual harassment. have been
8:54 am
released by the state attorney general. you may recall andrew cuomo 1st denied all the allegations against him. let's take a look at what some of the transcripts say. one of the women accusing the former governor of misconduct said a lot of times he tried to be for taishan. a lot of times it came off as creepy that a woman said, but i know his actions were not ambiguous. he places and pressed and then moved his fingers across my breast in a way that clearly meant to show me his power and his ability to control my body and my dignity. many allegations being thrown out there. let's turn to legal analyst lionel, thanks so much for joining us. deep. thank you. now on all, what do you make of these transcripts wasn't even necessary to release them after what we've already heard. i don't understand what the necessity of this was other than the fact that the attorney general of new york leticia james wants to be
8:55 am
governor. it is just so happens that cad, the whole gal who was the current governor, who was the lieutenant who stepped in after andrew cuomo resigned, is apparently doing very well in the polls. so i'm not trying to inject or accuse their of being a political reason for this, but i'm telling you there is a political reason for it. but mean that natasha. let me ask you this question. imagine you are one of these women. and in this kind of opposed me to world where nothing was ever done for the most part. now there's being something done. what if you don't want your name necessarily associated with this? did they clear it with the women who themselves might have been embarrassed by this? or might have a claim later on either in civil court or what have you, what is the purpose of this? and also there's over kill when you keep hearing when it looks like it's a pile on like it's unfair. it actually in yours to the benefit of andrew cuomo
8:56 am
because people are going to be so saturated with this. and finally, he could, if he ever goes to trial, which i doubt, he could claim, perhaps unsuccessfully. where am i going to get a fair trial? everybody knows about my sexual predilections, and there is another book that's even more shorted, which we are not going to discuss, which makes this look like a junior league meeting in comparison. so he, he is overwhelmed with this tear. and now some of these allegations, like inappropriate touching, of course, are uncalled for, but there are some others that just seem like they hated their boss and his temper not necessarily grounds for sexual harassment to an actual in point under many of the statues. when you hear hostile work environment, you can be sometimes in some views a complete and total jerk mean dismissive, ah,
8:57 am
but as long as a subject matter doesn't stray into sexual if there's nothing improper but you're just horrible. that's not covered. and maybe you shouldn't be because that's just poor temperament, but you're gonna have to also look at this and ask this question. normally people don't do anything. many people who have been proponents for the me to move and have said, where has there ever? nobody does the, the, it took years to bring harvey weinstein to trial. now this is an avalanche. what's the difference? why does, why is his behavior? why is it so agree? just compared to others who committed violent felony? and as far as we know, i don't believe those were alleged in these transcripts if you will. yes. so interesting or out of time make you select on our legal analyst. we always appreciate your time and that's all the time we have. thank you so much for
8:58 am
watching and we'll see you back here tomorrow. have a great night ah for empowering ourselves to be more efficient quicker with our transactions. but with that comes a trade off. every device is a potential entry point for security attack. any machine, depending on it's an extension of traditional time. the defenders have always been one step behind the attackers with them. there's one called option in the offering. it's not a matter of, if it happens, it's a matter of went always the economy working for you. we were told this is the time of the great reset and
