a knock on effect on the national emergency phone line which has been inundated with extra calls from people asking where their ambulance actually are. the average wait for a call to be answered last month was 56 seconds compared to just 7 seconds of the same time last year. let's get more in this and speak to our london correspondence, shabby edwards. thus the i showed you. i think what's perhaps going to infuriate the public even more is that it's reported 8 n h. s. ambulance bosses were awarded pretty large bonuses this year, despite the service being under critical strain. well, that's certainly the case. and indeed gwinn statistics and these shock reports are not exactly something the united kingdom is alien to, particularly when it comes to issues around the n. h. as the pandemic, and the government's handling of it. but while these findings may not be exactly a surprise, there's certainly alarming, and i just want to take you through some of these findings. in fact,
6:13 am
the report is finding that people are dying in the back of ambulances because they're stuck outside of hospitals due to such a rise in demand and up to a 160000 people a year, or coming to severe hom as a result of all of these delays when it comes to the ambulance in a 999 service, nearly 300000 more, 9 calls are being made every single a day. that's a $300000.00 more than normal because of the shortage of ambulances. we think that about 3 quarters if the extra phone calls that are coming in on 999, i'll repeat dial is trying to find out what's happened to the ambulance. they are having to wait 40 long for so basically this is a cycle of crisis. patients can't get admitted into hospital and either being treated or waiting in the back of an ambulance and therefore that ambulance can't get back onto the roads to respond to other 999 cold. in fact,
6:14 am
the most serious of conditions being left waiting in their homes. things like suspect of heart attack, chest pain, people waiting on average an hour for an ambulance to even arrive. and of course, having a detrimental impact on patient health and safety. the ambulance service is simply not providing the level of service they should. patients are waiting too long and that is pretty much risk. while, while this report doesn't say exactly how many people have died, it does confirm and does acknowledge that the have been patient death while waiting outside emergency departments or shortly after being admitted, following a long wait in the back of the ambulance, while others still in their homes are being saved either because paramedics are simply stuck at a, in the un, unable to answer these 999 coles. and was all of this may actually sound worryingly, reminiscent of what was happening this time. last year, again,

at one of the heights of the pandemic cave in the united kingdom, where people were being unable to be admitted into hospital as the beds were simply running out to, to the cove at 19 pandemic. and the increase of demands as well back then, and they had bosses described the n h s on its knees. and now it's totally breaking point. and in essence, it basically means in the united kingdom, it's a very worrying time to get sick at the moment. yeah, front line workers in the middle of it all or you can correspond. chevy edwards, to us. you thank shut in germany is considering sweeping new co restrictions for the on bucks and aided the rules would apply to 14000000 adults murmuring a controversial system. now, in place in neighboring austria, but with berlin preparing for a power transition, the timing is complicated. peter oliver explained. alarm bells ringing in germany. the country's covert numbers. a cause for grave concern,
6:16 am
so much in fact that those that are looking to form the next government in germany . well, they say more restrictions on needed. i listen, a smile is a so 1st of all the situation we're in is dramatic and therefore consistent measures the urgently needed within the framework of the current legal situation. but also beyond that from december, about we're currently discussing the rules that will apply over the winter. from december onwards, when this week has seen a continuation of high coven infection numbers across germany, while the 7 day average of that is reached, never before seen levels. from monday, this week, berlin saw new restrictions come into play coal. the 2 g approach which bothers that are vaccinated. o'connell show that they have recovered from covert from restaurants, theaters, gyms and nightclubs, defenders. it must treatise. i'm a little bit critical of it. i'm actually here for my 3rd vaccine short,
6:17 am
but i think it will deepen the divisions in society as we'll say august. i think it's a good idea. i'm vaccinated and i'd feel much safer if only other vaccinated people were allowed indoors. i did some on you to even when someone is vaccinated, they can still get infected with this virus and get sick. so i don't really know if it makes sense at all that will be seen and i'm with her taking into account the rising numbers for i think it's reasonable. but i can also understand people who are not vaccinated. but we're in the middle of a pandemic. i think everybody needs to make a sacrifice for the greater good society than him in bavaria, which is one of the hardest hit areas by the 4th wave. the state leader marcus zona, is wanting things could get very bought. if 10 is the apocalypse, we're at 9. there is a very simple way to solve the problem and that is vaccination. the basses where germany is faltering vaccination rates, half plateaued at around 67 percent. and protested against covered restrictions. a

still vocal any among those looking to lead the next government of germany, there is a mind that there has to be a discussion on mandatory vaccination, the people in certain professions like health care. i think it is right that we have now started a discussion about whether this should be done in italy where vaccine uptake is currently 10 percent higher than germany. they're seeing less cases in this 4th wave in austria, which is 5 percent lower than germany. they've just brought in the new lockdown for the vaccinated. while the austrian chancellor insists this is necessary. it still draws pushback from the public was blue. this is again, this is our task as a federal government is to protect the people of austria and that is what we are doing. i must stress, we are not taking this step with a light heart,
6:19 am
but unfortunately it is necessary. he's an alternate id. i like it well against the current government, which is leading us into disaster plate. in essence economic cas cleanings, cassandra overall, i find the whole development extremely alarming. there are lines outside of this vaccination center here in berlin as the feeling is they sooner rather than later. germany will follow austria's lead and impose national restrictions on those that have not been jobs that comes as politicians and health officials are concerned that on checked this 4th wave of cove, it could be the worst yet, peter, all of a aussie berlin. well, vaccines don't necessarily make the problem go away though. the british territory of gibraltar, how's the highest coven inoculation rate in the world? it's given enough shots to immunize its population one and a half times over. but infection rates are rising exponentially. and all public

god's men be required to take the cove at 19 vaccine. notwithstanding any other federal requirement. additionally, no negative administration or legal action will be taken against guardsman, who refused the vaccine. lamar reaction, we got to the story was from spike colon spike was a libertarian vice presidential candidate in 2020, and says the measures only widen the risk between states and the national government. think we're seeing the beginnings of an increasing stand off between the biden administration and state governments, whether you're talking about the governments themselves or the state national guards, or even some of the city governments. not just on this, but on quite a few things. we're seeing an increasing fighting between different levels of government between the, by an administration largely on political lines between republicans and democrats, but also on disagreements over how to move forward. when it comes to coven, it's likely to spread to other states, especially now with the us,

with the federal courts are holding up. one of the vaccine mandates and many of state governments already suing the by the administration. we're seeing in some police departments as many as 40 percent of police and other 1st responders are refusing to take the vaccine. i suspect the numbers are lower among the troops, but it's probably not that much lower. and these are the kinds of things that the, by the ministration needs to think about when they're deciding to try to shove these vaccines down the throat to people who don't want them. anti euthanasia. activists in canada, voice alarm over a surgeon, medically assisted dent saying that practice has become normalized. euthanasia became legal in canada in 2016, and that you're more than a 1000 people underwent assisted suicide. according to health canada. that figure reach 7 and a half 1000 last year. according to one psychiatrist, people are not asking for the procedure even when they're physically healthy. a few

this statistics are quite shocking that my position a day fail. that is very, very important. that is, people individually want to choose to analyze and if people want to choose to and live their life to the last moment. that's an individual choice to prom with your comments though, is that you talk you from a theoretical point of view than rather than a human point of view. what actually happens that i'm here in canada, we're euthanasia is becoming very commonplace. a people with disabilities often react by saying, hey, in the culture we live and we feel are ready, denigrated, we feel like our lives are last value. and now you're telling us that maybe it's better off that we be dead. and this is what you're getting, a lot of pressure on, you know, and i get stories all the time. i get calls all the time for people who are feeling pressured for every person you feel under pressure to die because they're a burden on the family of the health system and they haven't got the money and the family is going to go in the vet for it, there's a person out there who wants to know who actually wants to die because they want to

enter suffering. and that, that sort from a theoretical point of view. i had locked it is a very radical point of view because he's trying him not answer the question. why, why is society allowing this type of a suffering that death is preferable to care? this is, this is the essential question that comes down to this because what you're actually saying is we changed our law to allow doctors and nurses to do homicide because that's what it is. we're talking about euthanasia, which is done by lethal injection by somebody else. and they're approving it and then they're doing it. so you're talking about actually a type of a homicide. and is it ever a good idea in the culture to allow? so when to have the right a law to kill me. and we have a choice individual choice as k. what we sippy deal with is the should be strength protocols in place. so no nurse has to explain to someone in the final phase of m and day, why they should speed up the process of that death. ok before we go, just some is coming into us ballard. bruce has announced the temporary closure of

ah, i think what we find is hackers are playing at the human emotions. they're trying to find the way people operate online through social media, different types of technologies, and they're using that human emotion. think about what they're trying to do today. they're trying to send emails to individuals talking about different types of activities. they need to do urgent activities, such as transferring money or maybe even clicking on links to steal their information. users are being distracted regular. they're getting so many notifications from their social media, from their e mails, and they're not checking in and actually validating what those requests are coming from. and playing into that human emotions gives more and more hacker attack capabilities into those users.
