tv   Cross Talk  RT  December 1, 2021 5:30am-6:00am EST

5:30 am
here then ah ah ah hello and welcome to cross software. all things are considered. i'm peter lavelle. trump supporters and conservative media spare no energy, dallas democrats are going too far there too lefty. is that really true? majority of all voters say they support universal pre k free community college and low drug prices. so is going to far left really about the culture wars. i cross talking democrats. i'm joined by my guess, kevin chavez, in washington. he is an attorney, a democratic strategist,
5:31 am
and former president of dc young democrats in new york. we have margaret kimberly. she is executive editor and senior calmness of black agenda report and in phoenix we crossed to jonathan gillum. he's a former navy seal, and f b. i special agent and author of sheep with no more the art of awareness and attack survival. all right, chronic cross stock rules and effect. that means you can jump in any time you want . and i would appreciate margaret, let me go to you 1st in new york. we hear all the time. everybody knows my political coloration. so, you know, i'm here all the time. they, the, the democrats have gone overboard. you know, they've to lefty, they're crazy, they're nutty. so how do you, you are a progressive, how do you see that? i mean, your watch obviously identify more closely to the democratic democratic party than i ever would. but is it a fair characterization? they're gone to left. go ahead, margaret. yeah, well i'm left of them. so yeah, i've been yeah, they don't go let enough. i wish they were as left wing as we're told they are.
5:32 am
i think their problems currently stem from the fact that they don't deliver what people want used started up by listing some of the programs that are popular with the public things that are biting campaign. no, unlike rob for giving some student loan debt, things like that are, are, that is what most people are actually across the spectrum. want to see. but we have the same pressures on the political system, assuming biden was ever serious and 1st place up from our, the establishment from the corporate democrats. they are the ones who run the democratic party, unfortunately, and keep the people from getting what they want. so i think we have to be very careful when we accept the truth of the day and don't really examine what the political parties do. it's very interesting, jonathan. let me go to you in phoenix, i mean on our side of the aisle when we say assist an enormous amount of infighting
5:33 am
. i mean, it's very difficult. i mean, i've looked at some of the focus groups that have been done in the last couple of weeks about the democratic party and the single most common thing. they say they fight each other all the time. that's not a good for boating about getting a message. i'll go ahead jonathan. what use? okay, 1st of all, you see and fighting on the democrat party, but there's a democrat party actually has a structure in which they can debate within themselves. on the republican side, let's take a look at what the reality i always say in this nation, that the enemy is the left, but the problem is the right and the right is not. they are not one entity that works together. in fact, i would even go as far to say that the republican party is nothing more than a fundraising entity. and true conservatives have no war fighting machine. and the problem here is that the far left is black. margaret have been able to push their ideology and their agenda is completely forward with no checks and balances,
5:34 am
and no one in this nation of free people deserves complete power because it does corrupt completely. and what we're seeing here is that things are being done in this nation for ideological reasons, not for what's effective to the nation. for instance, margaret brought up the student loan debt forgiveness. i mean, if people take on a debt, it's up to them to take care of getting rid of that debt that does nothing to change my world. it does nothing to change the inner city, it does nothing to affect the business and commerce and if there's good water in a city, it does nothing for that. and these are issues that are based in ideology and progressive left us and there is no counter to that. so we are a nation and this isn't just in the united states. this is sweeping across the world because it's ideological. and on the right there is absolutely no consensus as to who we are. there is no war fighting machine to counter this fast aggressive
5:35 am
moving the west. and i don't think even the people on the left understand who they are and that's a problem. we're a world in a nation filled with people who are lost and falling ideology and not what's effective. i let me go to kevin in washington here. i mean, just say what kind of reference when margaret was saying, i'm for student debt relief, but i think the university should pay for it. okay? because they create, they created a con and the generations of young people, so they're culpable. they should pay up to okay. these are a true you, a multi $1000000000.00 foundations. they've got the cash they can do it. i just wanted put a close parentheses on that. kevin. i mean right now that the democrats are ruling like they have a mandate in washington. they don't, they don't have a mandate at all. it's razor thin all over the place. but they, they, they act as if they have a mandate. and this is creating an enormous amount of problems because, you know, if it was f d r in 1932. well that's one thing, but it's biden in 2001. go ahead,
5:36 am
kevin. well, what would constitute a mandate out say the previous administration act as if they had a mandate, but didn't when the popular vote, you know, we know the story. so look, if you've got the power you need to act like you've got a mandate. if you want to try to get things done, so i'm ok with that, i think the big thing is that we have to continue to find ways to get at least some measure of the bills past that we want. i know that people on the far left of course, were like joe biden to do more and i'm are disappointed, but it's going to be hard to get sort of these pure initiatives past when obviously you've got a $5050.00 tie, the senate, you've got jo manson basically acted like a republican same kirsten cinema. so some of the things we really want to see pass just won't happen, not in the form. we want to see it happen. oh, we also got to worry about trying to go against history. we know we've got the mid terms coming up. we know the party that owns the white house typically loses 20 or more seats. we've got to stop the bleeding there to we know the buys approval
5:37 am
rating is not very high. so to me, i think you've got a governor's, if you've got a mandate, if you want to get things done, and to me a mandate means you won the most votes, you got sworn in, you've got the c, m. and then from there it's about working to get something done. it is as close as you can get to the initiative that you really want and actually think the administration and only one year has done a pretty good job of that. okay, margaret, well a pretty good job of it. okay. have you doing a pretty good job then why are there poll numbers? so historically low, i mean, you know, yeah, everyone can say it's all about messaging and all that. it doesn't matter. the perception is real here and the perception is here is that this is an administration, an party that's in crisis. go ahead margaret. well, i, i, i wish to let go, or is it effective as one of your other just just said, but i, i, the problem with biden is that people want him, wanted to see more,
5:38 am
and they're not getting it. and they get, they've gotten some thing. so i will give them credit for the child tax credit and so forth. those things are very popular and very much needed. but he did not do the things he said he was going to do when he was running. and that is the problem for the democrats. i think they also forgot that a lot of people came out last year expecting a real difference. and they want to go back to the same old same old, neo liberalism closing up to the, the corporate people who like the republican spun their party. they are both fundraising machines and don't deliver for people so that you have a president who people really wanted to see change things. and he has not, and it's the same old, same old and so called progressive. instead of being
5:39 am
a real opposition in their party, they do, you know, progressives in congress could do with jo mansion and kristen simon cinema do. but they don't. there's a lot of phony progressive talk, but none of the action that would make this president more popular and that would help the party. so i'm going to back and stay with you. so a or see really isn't doing the party many favors okay. with her little doesn't do anything. i love about that to my point. okay. i mean it is great for instagram and stuff like that. i think i think she definitely hurts the party and the perception of the party of being out of touch. jonathan, let me go to you. i mean, what it shouldn't have we expected this from biden. i mean, you know, i'm old enough to remember that he was basically one of the last holding a hold out for segregation. i mean, i mean, i mean this guy we, we know everything about him and you go ahead and the media is saying he's going to do something different. he's doing exactly what i expected. i mean, he's, he's just a senator, he's not
5:40 am
a leader. and he falls back on his corporate friends. $15.00 minimum wage up, you know, yes, burning will do that. gone. and in so much of that god, it just this corporate, this agenda again. i mean, i don't know why people are surprised. go ahead, jonathan. i rescind, agree with you and you know, listen to margaret i you know, how could you put trust in joe biden? i mean, you knew he wasn't going to show up. in short for the campaign trail. you knew he was a liar. if you look at his career, he lives, he's, this is a guy who is he just politics and does whatever is best to make joe biden to look good and quite frankly, he never looks good. he just looks like a narcissist to be honest. and i, you know, i've noticed in this conversation that i'm the only one here that's saying the word effective. what is effective? what is effective for this nation? i just, i cannot anymore look left in, right. i only look at what's effective and there is absolutely nothing being done
5:41 am
effective. you can mandate all you want, which is what the other guy said. the word want at least a half dozen times. but if what you want is not effective, then it mandating or not mandating or passing laws. it's not going to do any good. this nation is crumbling. the price of gas, i have a harley. it took me $8.00 to put a gallon and a half of gas in the tank. it. we've gotten to a point where food is, is becoming scarce. products on the shelves are becoming scarce, and people's anxiety is out of the roof and nothing is being effectively fixed. and we're talking about democrats and republicans. we're not talking about solutions. we're just talking about what people want and that is quite frankly terrifying for me as somebody who's lived a career in service to the nation. always looking for what's effective. i see none of that from politics. i've seen none of that from any of the people that orbit
5:42 am
washington d. c. and any of the commentary occurred that's critical, joe biden, or even the republican party. i never hear what's effect. well, it's all, it's all about jumping on your opponent or what are today your enemy. unfortunately, that's the nature of our politics. i'm going to jump in here. we're going to go to a short. and after that short break, we'll continue our discussion discussion on the democrats. stay with this up. if you think you all nominate up with that been happening by high middle now i on my head up my lap and i had a knuckle. but my law bob didn't thought now, well, i'm up at a bit a well,
5:43 am
i mean i have been licensed with donia long. i've been with blue. ah, when i was showing wrong when i just don't hold any world. yes. to shape out. this thing becomes the advocate and engagement equals the trail. when so many find themselves worlds apart, we choose to look for common ground. ah .
5:44 am
the postal service delivers a $155000000000.00 pieces of mail every year. approximately 40 percent of the world's rail right now. the us postal service is in the flight of its life history . that is really bad financial shape. now facing default, the postal service is a cash cow and there was a way to pull money out of the postal service to put into a federal budget. there was a mandate that you're bringing a $100000.00, new revenue every month. the nature of privatization in the us postal service is very much hidden from public view. it's privatization from the inside out. that's
5:45 am
a big business in money. it's not about the public and given them a service that the design is not about quality and training workers. it's about with . welcome back. across stock. we're all things considered. i'm peter labelle, to remind you we're discussing the democrats. ah, okay, let's go back to kevin in washington with an eye on next year's mid terms and in keeping in mind what happened in virginia during the, the governor's race here. does they go, sir, that hans? the democratic party known as donald trump, is it effective any more? because i hear that all the time. i mean, and bas mbc still makes
5:46 am
a lot of money off of trashing tom. so, i mean, is that it is overplayed card in the democratic in a democratic play book? ah, well, i think it is, you know, he's obviously not on twitter anymore. so we don't get his offensive sort of random tweets that i think i rile up and organize the people who don't like him. he's not really on t v. i think the more donald trump is in front of the camera and the more he's on social media, the better for the democrats. i think that's largely why joe biden, one because donald trump did such a horrible job and was widely disliked of. so with him not being around, i think we're, we're seeing as voters are not going to put of the blame on him right now. he's been gone for a year. so you can't really tie people to him and expect to win. we've got to talk about what we're gonna do, and i think he brought up glen youngin on what he did well was at least find a couple of issues that he could focus on. okay. not very effective for him like
5:47 am
lowering the price of groceries or parental choice. those things helped him a lot. okay, margaret, the same quick question to you because invoking trump, it seems like some kind of magic bullet for the democrats. and i'm sorry, voting for donald a voting for joe biden, because he wasn't donald trump. is that a good reason to go to the polls? i mean that, that shows the poverty of our politics right now. okay. it's all about personalities and they want you to think it's all about personalities. don't think about policy now. this is what i find so frustrating. i'm a conservative. i hardly ever talk about trump. i'm interested in ideas and policies that help working people. go ahead margaret. well, as they, but they do want to resurrect trump and that shows your correct poverty of their politics that people wanted to see. for example, an increase in the minimum wage and they still don't have it. despite having a democratic president in house and senate,
5:48 am
we still don't have the things that they said they were going to get for us. and that's why they go back to trump. it's because they have failed. and it's because they're a corporate party and they do their the putative left wing party, but they aren't or at all really left. so, but a lot of things that we are told or left wing like national health care, which people have everywhere else in the world we're told is to left wing despite the fact that god, that is something that most people would like to see. and that of course, could be done here as it's done right next door in canada. so when they fail to do the things that people expected them to see, they go back to resurrecting the boogeyman of donald trump. and every time they talk about trunk, it is to me an indication of their failure, who i believe is just a sham and creates a sham democracy. frankly,
5:49 am
john and jonathan will it, when we're looking at the, the, the disarray of this administration in the, in fighting in the democratic party. and it's very real and fighting. um, it seems to me that the, the g o, p is deluding itself about its possibilities for a major win. i mean, i think, you know, a kevin's already pointed out, i mean, historically speaking, the power that they, the party and power in the white house loses mid terms. okay. it's good. all going to be about degree right now. but i do worry, is that you know, going after joe biden, in his deficiencies, which are real, how much people dislike kamala harris, which is real here. but you know what? i don't see a real agenda coming up and it's has really bother some me. and you know, i guess it was a week and a half ago, kevin mccarthy spent 2 hours on the floor. well, he's a day late in a buck short. okay. i mean, i don't see that all that is, is reacting and that's what the deal pay does. react react rhea, i don't see a positive agenda out there. and it seems to me even if they get a majority in both houses,
5:50 am
they're going to do usually what they do. nothing. go ahead. jonathan, you're absolutely right. and you know, one thing that margaret said that really stands out because i hear this from people on the left and the right is this phrase our 2 party system. this nation was never created for a 2 party system. the democrat and republican parties are not government entities. they are private organizations and people need to realize that they are not a part of it's no different than if lows and home depot decided to have political parties. and they became very successful over hundreds of years. that's all they are, but they own every seat of power in the united states on the local, state, and federal level. and they've convinced all the people in this nation that they must follow those 2 ideologies or those 2 guidelines, or those to representative parties to fix everything and nothing and nothing at all is being fixed. and when we look at how you are pointing that out about the republican party there, the fact is, i can't say this enough. there is no entity called the republican party, that is
5:51 am
a war fighting machine. there is nothing. it is simply a fundraising entity. they own a line on a ticket and when you vote for somebody to go to washington, d. c, for your conservative values, there is no war fighting machine. so what, what looks like the conservators or the republican party is just sitting back and not really pushing forward. and maybe they're just going to rely on biden's bad record. the fact is, there's no war fighting machine that really is coordinated in that fashion. so they do what's easiest, and i think what we see overall with both these political parties is that we really do, we could cross out, right? when we look at what's effective, you know, we don't want people to be hungry. we don't want people in this, in this nation to be sick, but nothing ever gets really fixed in an effective manner to do that. you can't pass a bill or pass a law or just say we're gonna give somebody something free and expect that to fix
5:52 am
the problem. we never looked at the root problems. we never reach out and try to truly fix it. look, can't given, let me go to you. i mean, do you think that, you know, i mean, looking at the poll numbers here, do you think there's a lot of buyer's remorse in electing joe biden and cml harris? because according to news reports, you already have his cabinet already thinking about 2024. while there's still a sitting president right there. that's not something that happens very often here . i mean, they, they got trump out, did they realised that this is what they were going to get with biden? go ahead, kevin, were, i think his biggest problem is that the inflation has surged due to the pandemic continuing. i think that we all thought we would probably be beyond the coven, 19, or least, the worst of it. and things haven't proved. but now with the, you know, we have a delta varian. now we've got our micron. so i think as long as coven lingers, people just continue to be tired of sort of the, the mandates are the limitations on life. and they blame it on joe biden. he has
5:53 am
had pretty significant achievements legislatively, but these not going to get the credit for them because people are upset that you know, the price of milk has gone up so high. the good thing is that we think it should come back down. prices should go back to normal, hopefully next year, but we don't know. so i think that it is not so much that people have buyer's remorse. is that people react to what's going on right now. and they have short memories. and i think that they do not, you know, factor in history when, when they're answering those questions, do you approve or disapprove that thinking about today or yesterday? and if you're thinking about today, you know, you're thinking about inflation, you're thinking about constantly hearing about corona virus and the news. so i think that was dragging down his numbers. ok, well morgan, i would argue it's really the lack of leadership in clarity and, and being frank with the, the american people talking about legislative victories. i mean, they were so carved out margaret by the end of the day. it was just
5:54 am
a corporate giveaways guess as it always is. they went week after week, i got to cut this. i cut this out, cut this out. oh yeah, we don't worry about taxing the rich here. i mean it, it for me which is breathtaking. ok. you start out big and they went skinny, but they went fat for their friends. not for the people, margaret. absolutely. i think what they ended up with was what they intended all along. so the talk of the 6 trillion dollar bill and it was lower and lower and lower. now it's one trillion that's a lot of money. i'm not saying it is it? but i think this is what they intended all along. and they tell people, well, you know, this is what we could get or, oh, no, joe mansion who's just the bad cop in a bad place as far as i'm concerned. but this was their intent all along. it always is. uh, whoever is in office, whichever party allegedly has control, it's the one percent who have control. and in the final analysis we get what again
5:55 am
another corporate give away. and that's why i believe terry mcauliffe last in virginia. he's just another corporate democrat. and at the end of the day, he was defeated because his opponent came up with some other issues that were trending at the time. but these corporate democrats cannot win a with absent a republican boogie person to point to. well, margaret young can is a corporate republican. okay. and they both worked at the same venture capital firm . okay. carlyle. okay. i mean, it's really amazing. this is your coke and pepsi joyce here. go right ahead. oh, but the media just had such so much fun with it over nothing. no, very little difference whatsoever. okay. except for how close he stands to donald trump. okay. this sounds like criminology. okay. jonathan, you and i have the same opinion of the republican party. and i agree with you, it's not really much of a party at all to find me. it's
5:56 am
a fundraising operation. what, what would you tell them if you had the power and you were a consultant to them, what would you suggest them to do? because i'm tired of this carousel going around and around voting this party and this party out and we get the same thing over and over and over again. nothing changes. go ahead, jonathan. well, i say that we use the democrats playbook. listen to one thing. i'll give the democrat party there are a subversive left. his group i, you know, i have respect for margaret respect for kevin, but nothing that they're saying, as i always keep saying solves anything. and really just talks about things that are whimsical, dreams, that things are going to change because they do this bill or that bill. but what the democrat party is is an effective war fighting machine. i. if i was advising a republican party, i would say listen, you have to start cultivating relationships with big money donors who believe and conservative eyes and see what's happening in this country. i would start getting on the ground level,
5:57 am
have courses for free for people about the constitution. start digging in roads and the department of education so that you can stop the indoctrination of wise or of the children. every one should be concerned about that and the republican party should just simply take that play book that the democrats party, democrat, party hit, has created and worked over really almost a 100 years. and it's gotten better and better to the point where they have a whole population of the part of the population. a nation focus on doing whatever they're told, the republican party needs to come together create a war fighting. okay. all righty and stand again. i'm afraid we can't hold our breath on that one. i had all the time. we have my money thinks that my guest in mind should be in new york and in phoenix. and thanks to our viewers for watching us here at r t c. next time. remember process rules ah,
5:58 am
[000:00:00;00] ah, you a tool that was fun fuel eyes and you'll post. it would stop you from having real friends and finding a girlfriend. but what they fail to mention is that you can make thousands of dollars every weekend by simply playing video games with stacy for years and a couple of them because i always wanted to question about a property that we thought georgia was. my. if i miss christina, can multiple to do stuff is no phone of course to make video games a high paying job. you have to be gifted and quick with it. hang on to a spike. a typical significant fitness to listen in bottom in this sounds of webpage bentley up amongst the booth but even started yet. glove boy,
