against military rule following last month, coo and cnn, suspense, top anchor chris promo. after he is embroiled in the sexual harassment scandal involving his brother, the former new york governor, it adds to criticism of the network for also turning a blind eye to andrew cuomo allegedly hiding the true number of care home cova deaths in the state. ah, why broadcasting live director of studios in moscow? this is aren't international. i'm john thomas. certainly glad to have you with us. now. the 15 year old suspect in tuesday school shooting in the u. s. state of michigan has pleaded not guilty. he has been charged as an adult with one count of terrorism and 4 counts of 1st degree murder across developments in the states. his r t scale mob prosecutors in the suburb of detroit where the recent school shooting
7:02 pm
took place have announced they are bringing charges of not just 1st degree murder against even crumbly. the 15 year old boy who shot his classmates there also, charging him with terrorism. terrorism has been added to the criminal charges that even probably will be facing after he came to school with a hand gun that was purchased by his father and shot his classmates. now, the list of charges, named by the prosecutor in the suburb of detroit, include 4 counts of 1st degree murder for the students who died. in addition to that 7 counts of assault with intent to murder for those who were injured by his gunshots and 12 counts of possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. now at this point, the prosecutors are saying, quote, we're going to hold the people responsible accountable, and we're going to get justice for these victims is what the prosecutor said. and in addition to that, the prosecutor said that the incident was planned well before it took place. there

is a mountain of digital evidence videotape social media all, all digital evidence possible, and we are having you to an absolutely, we are confident that we can show patients. now these charges were announced after 17 year old justin shilling died at 10 am. this morning the following day after the shooting took place, he was the 4th victim to die as a result of gunshot wounds fired by the shooter who opened fire on his classmates. now the motives of ethan crumley for shooting his classmates are at this point on clear. it's not clear why he chose to do it is important to note, this is the 28 school shooting that has taken place in the united states this year . most of those school shootings happening since august, when u. s. schools resumed and moved away from the remote morning that was in place during the pandemic when schools were largely shut down. let's review some of the
7:04 pm
more recent incidents in u. s. history. the more deadly school shootings that have taken place with the news. with certainly a disturbing trend in recent us history, many parents fear for the safety of their children as they go to school each day. as we frequently see, incidents of children coming to school with guns and shooting their classmates, or we can now cross live to dave linder for founding editor of online news site. this can't be happening day. thanks for being with us on kind of an interesting to say the least bit of news,
7:05 pm
the suspect is being charged as an adult just by being only 15 years old. why do you think this is the case? the united states has a long history of charging children as adults as a way of getting, you know, hugely long sentences that they can never get out of. so we have here in pennsylvania, i believe it's almost a 100 people who are serving life terms who were convicted for crimes committed as children. and so that's it, just a very vindictive society that we have and sort of medieval view of criminal justice. and as you know, the youthful mind and so we, this isn't the unusual at all. in fact, we've had kids under the age of 10. i believe not that long ago were tried as watch, especially if they were black kids. and they committed a murder of a white person. so here's something that i have not really thought of,
7:06 pm
but it's something that the prosecutors are considering charges against the suspects parents. is that fair? especially given that he's already being charged as an adult himself. well, 2 things, one is, yeah, it's sort of, it's a little bit of an oxymoron. you know, to, to charge a child as an adult, meaning that they have agency and then say that the parents are responsible for the, for the adult. so you've got to have one or the other, but the fact is that many, many states, including a number of conservative states, you know, with, with republican legislatures and republican governors have laws that say that parents can be held responsible for not walking up their guns and for allowing kids to get out a gun and then commit a crime. so that's not surprising. it, it's not wrong. i mean,
7:07 pm
if you have a law that says the parents have to lock up the guns, which i believe michigan does, but i'm not positive that then you know, there they were irresponsible to leave the gun in open glass case where any of the kids in the house could get a hold of it and we hear a lot of it kind of as a term just thrown about kids who have fallen through the cracks schools. well, this school, particularly officials, have previously met with the suspect and his parents concerning his behavior in school, given his attitude, had already been flagged. why was nothing more concretely done to change his behavior? well, 1st of all, we really don't know enough about what that issue that behavior issue was about. i mean, i had a, i had a 2nd grade son who was, i was called in for because he was drawing swords and his teacher was saying, you know, this is really dangerous. but he just was really into every kind of sword,
7:08 pm
you know, smithers and japanese ninja swords and all of that. and he drew them very well, but you'd sat there drawing him and she thought it was a terrible, you know, he was like, likely to cause, you know, some crime and it can work the other way where, you know, teachers all say, all you know, kids will be kids is just talking big and he saw a threat. i mean if they're actually talking about plans or the parents read something or a teacher read something, that's one thing. but you don't know what his problems were. was he just being acting up in school or was he actually talking threats? indeed, i remember. i remember when i was a child drawing swords and guns and all sorts of things. i'm glad that my teachers didn't hold that against me. but if we go to the actual number of us school shootings, it's now at its highest in 3 years. we know the pandemic had something to do to curve that a little bit. there's not even over. what do you see?
7:09 pm
are the factors driving such incidence in the united states? well, you can, you know, as you say, i mean, it's a little, it's not really good data because we don't, we had, we were all talking about how, you know, one of the upsides of all our kids being out of school for a year and a half for or up to a year and a half was that we weren't getting very many school shootings because there was nobody in school. so maybe that's the cure for school shootings in the united states. just keep the damn kids home, you know and, and then it's on you. but you know, seriously, we're back up where we were now that the kids are back in school and they're shooting each other up again, like they were before the can them, it started it. and it's possible that some of this, it could be traced to the pandemic itself, just the fact that kids have been cooped up, that they haven't been specializing in normal ways for
7:10 pm
a year or so that their parents were maybe a, you know, not as patient with them and as focused on them as they should have been because they were cooped up themselves around the house and now and with there's an increase in alcoholism and stuff. so i was, you know, some parents have probably been dropping the ball in terms of just being depressed that they don't have a job or that they're, you know, their lives are all cooped up. i don't know what, but you know, you can imagine that all kinds of things are, are screwed up in some families. indeed deland, or if it's always good to get your perspective on these things, unfortunately have to do on this topic. but table in your founding editor of on my new site, this can't be happening. thanks. thanks for having me on the new coven strain on the kron continues to raise. war is around the world. the u. s. has registered its 1st case of the variance in california across the atlantic. you

chief ursula vander line, says member nations should consider mandatory inoculations as the new strain is now thought to have been present in europe at least 10 days before being reported in south africa. here's our europe corresponded peter over lots going on all across europe when it comes to the omicron variant on dealing with this latest wave of cove at 19, which really has the continent in it's great. i'm in sweden right now. where from wednesday we seen vaccine passes having to be shown if you go to any public gathering now, there are some issues with that because not everybody in sweden is able to get not required vaccine pass even if they had job. now if your residency is being processed or if you got your jobs outside of sweden, you're going to face problems there. and you're not going to be able to show that all important piece of paper, all q all codes elsewhere in portugal. what we're seeing is the government that a see what's called a state of calamity. it's the 2nd highest state of alertness in the country,
7:12 pm
and what it means is that they're going to be bringing in new measures again, going to be bringing back in measures. i beg your pardon, things like mass squaring in public. you're also going to need to be able to show either a negative test or a vaccine certificates if he has to go into bars, jims, restaurants, hotels, or cinemas. now all of these measures are being brought in as european chiefs are having serious discussions about a mandatory vaccinations being rolled out across the u. s. lafond line has been talking about just that it is understandable and appropriate to lead this discussion now and how we can encourage and potentially think about mandatory vaccination and within the european union. this needs discussion. wiley, a, you commission president there is talking about mandatory vaccination in the a you won't country that has already said it will be implementing mandatory jobs is
7:13 pm
austria that set to come in in february. the country is currently in a, a full national lockdown. it's supposed to be in not least until the end of this week, it can be extended through until the 30 december. however, that's moved to implement. mandatory vaccination has not gone down well with some people in cities of guts and lynn's. we've seen demonstrates as out on wednesday, shutting down public transport where they can also demonstrates is on the streets of vienna as well. however, officials in austria say they didn't want to have to bring in a mandatory vaccination, but they hand is being forced in this issue. you haven't, once dismissed, we didn't want to vaccine mandate. let me make that explicit sex. got that 20 months on for missed out of the pandemic. we are in a situation that is dramatic. if you look at intensive care unit said hospitals. oh, finish off in germany, where the country recorded the highest coven death rate. since february of this year,
7:14 pm
446 people in the last 24 hours dying with coven. 19 in germany. we are going to be looking ahead to angular merkel. and the german government meeting with state leaders in that country on thursday, we're expecting to hear of mo, developments, perhaps more restrictions put in place in germany as well. so far here in russia there are no reports of omicron infections, but the developers of the countries. sputnik v, jabber, confident it will provide sufficient protection against the new strain. and in the unlikely case, it doesn't, a modified version of the vaccine would go into production in just $45.00 days. the chief of our ologist at moscow's gum layer research center, which developed the sputnik ve jab, told archie that the new coven strain actually appears to have been weakened by its mutations. they stood then you will have to have, with the army crown. varian has $32.00 mutations and spike protein, including mutations that already existed, as well as new mutations. and this origin is in clear,
7:15 pm
but 32 mutations is too many. while some people are terrified, i find that aspect rather favorable. if it mutated $32.00 times, that means it has an unstable genome. i suspected system controlling the accuracy of his genome has become damaged. if so, it will be weak. it can spread well because of natural selection. but as pathogenesis might have been greatly reduced, in the cases we're seeing now, every one has a mild form. no one has died so far. on the other hand, there's no doubt on how it can effect elderly people, will have to wait another month or so to be sure, i will show how did it emerge of utilized viruses don't ask anyone for permission. they live, they mutate a natural selection, works in favor of what can reproduce well, but the degree of pathogenic city isn't guided by natural selection, as is not very important, and this varying has undergone so many mutations, a virus doesn't need so many mutations to reproduce is a sign of genetic instability. yes. tens of thousands have marched in the

sudanese capital cartoon against the military government. after last month's qu, security forces tried to break up the crowds with tear gas from one of the protests . murat gosti of our correspondence sent us this report as tennis is being flagged by us, should a niece police to disperse these protest? 30 a few 100 people here, these tear gas canisters that the outdated, so that beyond due date. so the effect that they have isn't quite as powerful as if they had been pressure to people can comfortably pick them up, throw them away and play this game with police officers. and police evidently weren't having any of that. and these are, it is getting a bit uncomfortable here. eyes are beginning to sting as well as people's throats. but police are again forcing people back, asking them to disperse people here nevertheless. aw,
7:17 pm
are still angry. i'm still angry. they still believe the revolution has been stolen from them. when i heard is another tear gas canisters, they're being fired by police to this bus that this bus protest. this year, dana today was supposed to be a ww man march, and a protest against the military takeover, as they say, wrote as this year of the government, this all young voices. but this again is, is government. they want us even young government want to see it of up and kill people. the people in, in the agreement piece is justice. many people here feel betrayed by the actions of the prime minister, the civilian government,
7:18 pm
who agreed to the military demands the militaries, demands that they hand over a part of their power to the military. we are out against hum duke and burn hon. their political agreement and this government and we are not pleased with this work and the political games. we are industries because no one rules us and no one can ruin. we rule ourselves. we have to go. it's a, it's getting that it's becoming unbearable. we've also spoken to the deputy chairman of the sudanese transitional council. he says the country is in the grip of a crisis. and the further escalation could impact not only nearby african states, but also the whole world alone can for them. fee to then is now in a real crisis, there is real starvation. there are some people now who might have only one meal a day and maybe some who don't even have one meal. everything is expensive and we kept on warning, but unfortunately no one listened. we did everything we could, we agreed and economic commission at the time that the country was at the peak of
7:19 pm
distress. but unfortunately, the counsel didn't want us to work together. so we left it. there was also a security problem. no laws were implemented. so problems with numerous, hopefully with hard work we can overcome all these things done is in dire straits in the south of the country which has its own trouble. there are at least 2000000 refugees. we have open borders with chad, which is a little more stable, but experience is conflicts here. and so that has a strategic location to the world and especially to africa. in cartoon, there i still members, there are many terrorists, sleeper cells in sidney cities was recalled to them with grave importance. if an escalation happens to then it will effect not only africa, but the entire world. because sedan is a corridor for illegal immigration and trans national crime, cnn has suspended its leading anchor chris cuomo over his role in advising his brother, the former new york governor during a sexual harassment scandal. andrew cuomo had also previously been accused of
7:20 pm
hiding the true number of care home co deaths in the state. here is political commentator. lauren chen, as most of us, are probably aware of by now. chris cuomo is the brother of former governor of new york. andrew cuomo who had to resign in august following a slew of sexual misconduct allegation. and even though there's nothing inherently wrong with that sibling connection with one brother being in media and the other brother being and politics, when it comes to the coma brothers, specifically, chris cuomo is yet again, being accused of using his position at cnn as a prime time news anchor to help the political career of his brother. and these questions of impropriety on behalf of chris cuomo, part are not new. they 1st started early last year. when at the height of coven hysteria, chris cuomo chose to interview his brother, who was at the time governor of new york on his show. so that in scale, this was the actual swab that was beer used to fit up the double barrel shotgun that you have mounted on the front of your pretty face. and so when that
7:21 pm
interview came out, a lot of people i think, were correctly wondering why chris cuomo was joking around with his brother, governor, about giant cute. it's when at the same time his brother was being accused of housing corona, various patients with nursing home patients in the same facilities. but despite cnn's attempts to reinforce at least some standards of journalistic integrity, this would not be the last time that chris cuomo would be accused of using his position to help his brother. specifically earlier this year. andrew home was name was in headlines repeatedly because several women who had previously worked with the governor were now accusing him of sexual harassment. it didn't take too long before report started servicing that chris cuomo. the younger cuomo was actively advising his brother and how to handle all of these sexual harassment allegations. when my brother situation became turbulent, being looped into calls with other friends of his and advisors that did include
7:22 pm
some of his staff. i understand why that was a problem for sienna and for a while it did seem like that would be the end of all of these different scandals at least as far as chris cuomo was concerned in till. that is, this week the new york attorney general's office released a series of documents showing that chris cuomo, involvement with his brothers office, was a little bit more in depth than he had led people to believe. a series of text messages exchange between chris cuomo and one of governor andrew almost top aides. melissa to rosa shows that chris cuomo actually helped draft statements for his brother in one text message. chris cuomo also texted melissa derosa that he quote, had a lead on the wedding girl, presumably referring to one of governor cuomo, accusers, and in one especially concerning exchange derosa texted chris cuomo, quote, rumor going around from politico one to 2 more people coming out tomorrow. can you check your sources to which chris cuomo responded on it followed by no one has heard that yet falling the release of those text messages from derosa and cuomo, a slew of different left leaning media outlets have been calling for quote
7:23 pm
resignation. if this story is accurate, it describes a series of shocking ethical breaches, farmable offences of any of a news outlet. not surprised and the least embarrassing to any honorable journalist . it's hard to imagine any news executive keeping chris cuomo on stuff after today's revelations. then again, as seen and likes to say this is cnn amazing that chris cuomo still has a cushy job at cnn after flagrantly violating journalistic ethics. so to be clear here we have chris cuomo using his knowledge as a media professional to help draft statements for his brother andrew cuomo when he was facing multiple allegations of sexual harassment. and not only that, but it also seems like chris cuomo was using his connections with in the media industry to gather information on andrew combs accusers. so the question now is, what is next for chris cuomo?
7:24 pm
previously, it seems that scene and has been satisfied with chris merely going on his prime time t v show to make apologies, but i'm unsure whether that's going to be enough this time. and if chris cuomo is ultimately fired, it will just solidify principle that we saw in action when his brother, andrew cuomo, resigned from his position as governor, which is that in 2021. you can apparently kill all of the nursing home residents. you want, as long as you don't get me tude, it has emerged the f, b. i can access data from the world's most popular messaging apps, including the likes of what's up and apple's, i message. an internal document dating from january has just come to light. it says each what's up messages, source and destination can be sent to investigators and almost real time. plus a search warrant can result in a person's list of contacts being provided. and if the target is in someone else's contacts, their details could be handed over as well. apples are message can provide even more data handing law enforcement chat content that is backed up in the cloud.

telegram though, doesn't provide message content or contact information apart from on terrorism related issues. what's abs? parent company, meta, formerly facebook confirmed to us that they provide information to the f b i if there is a valid ward. but it also insists that what's up does not to disclose the actual content of the message. just the associated technical data. mateo, donnie of the tech travel geeks website told us why that is still a huge concern. it's always been an issue if you have a confidential contact, if you have a source who is wanting to not make the identity known to the wider public using an encrypted or even more obvious gated messaging service is key. what with the meta data? that what's that reveals to the f b i? it's easy to actually identify people like confidential sources. and obviously in

the world of traditional journalism, this will become even more of an issue as for tooling and what services to use to safely be able to, to send messages. there is always going to be some way of mistakenly or inadvertently revealing your identity or your information. as through one week point or another day after ukrainian president vladimir zelinski announced the threat of a crew. an anti government protest has been staged in key if thousands marched to independent square and surrounding streets shouting slogans, calling zelinski a traitor and waving flags and banners, demanding to be investigated for treason the claim. he violators the constitution by centralizing power on the president's office. since he took over in 2019 last fridays, lensky said a plot had been uncovered to topple his government and that it was orchestrated by russian individuals. ukraine has also got russia in its sights over

concerns beyond its borders. as nato summit convened in latvia, kiev called for backup with military cooperation and sanctions against moscow in order to protect the country from purported russian aggression and flying the flag for britain. foreign secretary list truce was riding high aboard a military tank and nearby estonia, just miles from the russian border in something of a declaration that britain is leading the way against what she called russia malign activity. it didn't go amiss that the p r stunt was similar to margaret thatcher's tank writing in years, gone by back then at a nato training camp in germany. in the 1980s. on tuesday, president putin announced that russia had tested a new powerful hypersonic missile and said its development was in response to nato's expansion of weapon systems close to russia's borders. moscow claims that nato's escalation of tensions is unfounded and has threatened serious consequences if provoked. now the u. s. secretary of state is saying that nato,
7:28 pm
their build up is to counter what it sees as russian aggression against ukraine. were deeply concerned by evidence that rushes made plans for significant aggressive moves against ukraine. the plans include efforts to destabilize ukraine from within, as well as large scale military operations. there were just in a dialogue with the united states and its allies. we will insist on the development of specific agreements excluding any further, nate to advancements to the east and the deployments of weapon systems that threaten us in the immediate vicinity of the russian federation. journalist daniela's are the author of america's undeclared war, says russia has every reason to be alarmed by nato's actions in eastern europe. there is no sign that russia is planning any kind of aggressive move against the ukraine. and there's every reason to believe that that, that is not the case, and the u. s. is looking extremely weak and insecure in the aftermath of
7:29 pm
afghanistan just got just 3 or 4 months ago. so the us talking tough that's trying to prove that it is a, it's still a contender that is still in charge of the world. but its act is looking less and less convincing. so russia has every reason to be concerned that has every reason to think that nato is engaging in a and a project. the long term project up encirclement and, and dismemberment. and, and i think it's up to the, up to the us and its allies to provide tangible proof that that is no longer the case. yet everything the u. s. s. that really indicates the opposite written really is designed to raise rushing through years of some kind of nato attempt to adam want so, so unless nato backs off, i can see how this can really end. if it doesn't for me, i will be back in 30 minutes with another full fresh look at your new stay with us or to international me.
