countries will benefit from this strategy. ah, is it now you think? you all know what they did? a high middle now my you my here up my lap and i had a knuckle blackland. my, well, i'm going thought along a bit a well, i mean happy licensed with sonya along with all inbound national travelers must test within one day of departure regardless of

the vaccination status or nationality. and we are extending the requirement, both internationally and domestically to where mass for travel on aircraft, trains public transportation through the winter months by restoration has announced the strictest travel roles is yet in response to the latest. i'm a con variant. we will give you the reaction and if these new laws are justified. and this is the bio ministration plans on restarting the romaine and mexico policy after a deal with reach with the mexican government. however, numbers of my rent a showing up the border have slow and some se, if, because ice has been secretly to putting families, oklahoma and we will give you all the details. and it does show drills actually help save lives and did it in the latest schools, tubing and michigan. our experts were way in real estate in reality as an all time . hi. so is that
8:32 am
a good reason to go invest in the members and do most americans even understand what this new digital reality is? and why some were considering this a great opportunity for investment in the future? i'm kind of using this story and more on today's news. you see right here on our t america, ah, joy, you're sure the micro protection protocol is being reinstated at one location by the, by to ministration. falling a deal made with the mexican government policy, which requires those migrant who are seeking asylum in the united states to actually wait outside of the country for their immigration court hearing was put on hold when president biden took office earlier this year. the program which president biden once called in humane because of the violence which was happening in mexican courtrooms, comes after texas in missouri. officials sued,
8:33 am
saying the migrants were putting a major burden on the state government. now the federal judge has ordered its reinstatement, and the administration lost their appeal in court as well as the supreme court and have agreed to comply with the court order all to reinstate the policy and the vita ministration still plans. however, on ending the program. well, eventually, doctors without borders almost immediately spoke out, as the policy being reinstated says, this is a devastating blow to thousands of people seeking asylum in the united states. punishing those fling violence and persecution, and denying protection to vulnerable people. we are witnessing yet another blow to the battered us to say island system. so discuss who bring in steve gil former official in the us trade representative's office and jed wellness democrats strategist and federal attorney. both of you went to law school. both of you study constitutional law. so i think that should be a very good discussion from
8:34 am
a legal perspective. so jan, let's start with you. do you have a problem with this program of keeping these migrants outside of our borders awaiting their hearing? well, 1st of all, the shout of the president chance, you know, because of course, you know, there's a country court decision that's what he's got to do. but the politics and integration reform is, is one that goes up a lot of politicians and certainly dro, present, intrepid to the white house. president biden just tried to take a far more conciliatory and humane approach to it, at least in terms of the speeches. your call president, trump denigrated, people from mexico into the categories, even the ms. rapers said, roberson, thank you, pages. so the president is certainly taking a far more humane and least publicly conciliatory approach to what really is just a minute. no problem, perhaps without any short term solution with respect to the people as well. and you
8:35 am
are, you are right about that is kind of the bottom ministrations hands at this point. but steve, do you feel like the bi restoration is making good on certain campaign promises to appease or voters knowing that those sorts of things will be stopped eventually stopped in the courts. therefore kind of passing the buck but saying, hey, we tried to fulfill it. and i do believe in that overseeing has happened time and time again with this administration day issue executive orders to say no to be illegal, an unconstitutional. and then as the court's role through, they get thrown out. and that's what we're seeing with this. one is what we've seen with other ones. and it is out of the bible administration's hands now, but they not only lost in court knowing that they would appeal to it. and last appealed and loss. they've been slow walking. the re implementation of the policy that was actually keeping the flood illegals from flooding into our country during this time. about 1600000 people have come across the border and been released during a time. that is now one of the highest levels of illegal immigration that we've
8:36 am
ever seen. whereas during the trumpet ministration, we had reached the lowest level in 30 years. and i don't think it's in humane to tell people that they cannot come here when we're saying orders are closed. when the reality is that the cartels are bringing him through and treating them badly if not the inhumanely all the way here. and then we're putting them in cages that the bind administration called in humane which the by an administration now refuses to show us that there's lots of things. there's obviously a lot of issues on it. and we're not finding a solution to this. but one solution that's come down is that a, there is a slow down at the board are currently. and one reason that they believe is because ice is deportation of some central american families via air haitians. hundreds and guatemalans are the nationalities which seem to have the biggest numerical decline recently. but they were also the same countries who saw the most families returned back home according to data. so steve, is this going to be the best solution for this problem right now? that's going to come out of it by administration. and why isn't this more open?
8:37 am
i don't think that we're really seeing a slow down in and frankly, when you look at this new policy, they just announced they're, they're only going to start it as sort of a temporary policy in one of the 11 to 15 locations where the flood is coming through and they pick one of the slower areas. so people are still going to come flooding through the open areas. they're still going to be dispersed throughout our country by the, by did ministration and in, and even more perverse attitudes. they're going to vaccinate those that they catch at the one or 2 locations. they're gonna re implement the policy and return them across the border. while that in again, hundreds of thousands and backs, mini caring, decoded virus, be past due our country and apparently now wanting to offer the money and other benefits as well. it is an absolute and same policy and it is not going to do any good until we go back to building the wall, stopping the flood across, and getting mexico to do what they were doing for a while, which was stopping them at their southern borders. because they actually have to suffer illegal immigration laws than we do. they just know these people are not
8:38 am
coming to mexico. they're just coming through mexico. well, and as story if we 1st brought yes change and i want to get you to way on as we can confirm, there are new protocols being put in by the, by the administration on travel, on the southern border. we're talking about that the rest of the border still have to worry about travel. some of those requirements. they require travelers who enter by air to test negative within 24 hours of departure, regardless of vaccination or nationality status. this is new mask requirements on all modes of transportation all the way until march 18th, 2022. and when required, private health insurance costs a 100 percent of all home test and they're going to do a new campaign to prevent boosters. chan if you've had to get a test and you've tried to travel outside the country even come into the country. is this all necessary right now, considering we've only had 2 confirmed cases of this new, i'm a chrome variant here in the united states. i tried and was successful to go to hawaii this year and added, jump through all those same who so it was an international travel is travel really to a non contiguous state of union. and so this is turn the world upside down. i don't
8:39 am
know what the solution is. it gives worrying back. look, and they don't do anything, and we have a horrible operate that they're going to bring to that. and we overreact. really was a downside to it is just the you have to be take these preemptive measures aggressive in the fall out later for the countries that are managing what's which are saying policy. i think this is the best approach under all circumstances. there's really no different than any wise administration, including in a very small scale the ministration did with the same threat in the early stages. and they did, and they were highly criticized for in this case, we're finding out that they said initially this was something coming from south africa. something we point out on the show yesterday. now they're finding out this was not from south africa. the 1st strains were actually around denmark in norway, and yet the restrictions were put on south africa with president biden, even today. and his speech pointing out south africa. there's still
8:40 am
a lot of people have not learned their lessons jan over the last 2 years on how to deal with this virus. hence why i think steve 44 percent of the public now approving of how president bite is handling the pandemic lowest. it has been especially since spring are these new rules going to help. and as anybody considering how this is going to impact travel and the economics, the global economics that we can economy, that we keep talking about going into 2022. i think jan is right, they're going to over react and it is going to have an over impact on our economy. they, they haven't learned the lessons. and i think around the reasons you're seeing these low whole numbers for the bind administration. as the american people have figured out, we have been why to repeatedly, from the outset of this, we're now being told other going to test for this. new varied of coven doctors are already telling you that these test, these instant test and not distinguish between the flu cove in the delta virus or this new omar crime that they're saying. the american people have realized they have been mind to us from the very beginning. the f

now with new bells ringing in washington, china seems to be the existential threat of the day for the usa. and according to when you pull, many americans are buying what dc is selling. we know that china conducted attached to the hypersonic weapon on the 27th of july, just underscores why we consider the p r c to be our pacing challenge. and you survey conducted by the ronald reagan institute, shows that most americans view china as the top threat facing the united states. in fact, the majority of those surveyed both democrat and republican say that they are worried about the possibility of war between china and the states. according to the ronald reagan institute report for the 1st time in our survey, a majority of the american people identify a single country as the greatest threat facing the united states. china, 52 percent of americans named china when asked which country they see as the greatest threat to the united states, while only 14 percent, say russia. the numbers are very different from just 3 years ago when 30 percent of

americans viewed russia as the greatest threat, and only 21 percent named china. don't forget that at that time, the now just proven trump campaign kremlin russia collusion story was running strong. however, while war with china is a concern, it is not the biggest democrats and republicans alike see economic factors as their number one reason to worry with china's military and human rights abuses, also making the list. the economy also seems to be a biggie. with the white house, here's white house press secretary jen saki last month, talking to media before president biden held a virtual summit with china's president. she. so there are areas of course of concern as it relates to the economy where the president will certainly express his concern, expressed his his view that china should be playing by the rules that the rest of the global community expects. raise our concerns with a number of their actions and discuss areas where our interest align a number of experts believe that to counter any threat from china,

so many find themselves will the more we choose to look for common ground? there is no pinnacle of evolution. everything's a bacteria, isn't product to 4000000000 years of evolution. in a specific environment, so a week. so in that sense we have, we are lucky survivors within to vote along a long process you. so as in to the springs at yellowstone, we will not do very well. and we'll do much better since the postal service delivers a 155000000000 pieces of mail every year. approximately 40 percent of the world's mail right now. the us postal service is in the flight of its life to see everybody that is really bad financial shape. now facing default, the postal service is
8:46 am
a cash cow. and there was a way to pull money out of the postal service to put into a federal budget. there was a mandate that you're bringing $100000.00, new revenue every month. the nature of privatization in the us postal service is very much hidden from public view. it's privatization from the inside out. why that's a big business in money. it's not about the public and given them a service that they deserve. it's not about quality train workers. it's about with authorities are charging even crumbly. 15 year old, a gunman, accused of killing 4 classmates and wounding 7 in the course of a pre meditated massacre. and in michigan high school on tuesday,

he's being charged with 1st degree murder, terrorism, and numerous other crimes. he is also being charged as an adult during the shooting . students aren't themselves with it. nearby scissors and climbed out of windows draw in part and training they received about what to do in the event of an active shooter threat. the vast majority of your schools actually utilize shooter drills or preparedness, training of some kind to prepare teachers and students just in case of an active shooter situation. but shooter drills create controversy with critics arguing they make students feel less safe in school. opinions are mixed about whether what the drills teach is actually useful in a real life or death active shooter situations. we are pleased to have with patrick trial attorney behavioral expert, andrew burke, west former counterterrorism officer join us. do you think the charges of terrorism are actually appropriate in this case in this situation?
8:48 am
i think so if you look at what terror is, i mean this, this is what this was a terrorism event. this is, you look at what the, just the standard definition of terrorism is, and absolutely this been the bill. there's other cases that are out there that maybe aren't right now. that should be, but this one most certainly does. and i think it's a fair and appropriate response. well, and that's and i agree with you. i do because it is pausing terrace, causing care that day, even in my child's middle school, they had a similar case called. and even though it was not turned out to be not real, that's what is these kids are living in terra right now in our school systems. and i don't feel like nothing's been done to them at the same time. the fact that they're having these conversations and wendy, i wanna put this to you because the sheer drugs are designed to prepare students and say don't panic in the event of a shooting. but how is it they could actually make students built less safe at school? and what can be done if anything, to correct this issue because when they have these terror drills, that's what's actually tell them by the way, this can happen. otherwise they probably don't understand. this is happening at
8:49 am
other schools. it's a great conversation to have and i can take up the whole rest of the hour with the pros and cons of training our children. god forbid what to do it bullets start flying. but think of it this way. preparation provides protection in california. i grew up with earthquake drills or wasn't tornadoes or floods, it was earthquakes, which we still have. and these drills are really have to there are trauma informed in the way that they're conducted. that is so important that makes such a big difference in terms of the way that we prepare our precious young ones. god forbid of something like this should happen. the alternative is simply unacceptable . and we just learned that this week with the new case that you mentioned, the terrorism charges, by the way, and those are stemming from the fact that accordingly, this was a guess prove opt provoked by a student that really did seem to have planned it out. that was very important that it was deliberate, but it's one of those necessary evils that we're finding really might do more good than harm in the balance. and that's probably why you see it as often as we do
8:50 am
today. well, like i said that you have those conversations when the kids come home from school, especially when they're in elementary schools, i did have one. my child did have nightmares after because she felt like every time there was a pounding on the door. she was reference, she thought it was going to be obviously a part of a, not a part of the drill, but something real happening. that's the question i have in all this and drew the training that was used at oxford high school where the shooting occurred is the alice program alert, locked on him, form counter, and escape. if someone hired you to develop a program to prepare teachers and students for this nightmare of an active shooter, what are the most important things you feel like they need to include without absolutely scan? we did see there was a case a year ago or a person came in and actually had like red and red ink filled balloon that they were throwing as if it was blood on the wall for kids. got that mental image that i was completely appalled by what does need to be included in these training programs that doesn't at least completely scare the kids out of their minds. yeah, i think 1st of all it has to be noted as you brought up scotty and i've experience
8:51 am
with my own kids as well. i think that it needs to be a scale. right. and not everyone gets the same training. the elementary kid don't need the same training, they can, you can call it whatever you want. they just need to be told to listen and then all the way up to high school where, where it does change a little bit. but the concepts of ours are pretty much spot on. there's different names board, there's different different concepts. but basically, what we're trained in our, my old profession counterterrorism is we're trying to get off the acts and we're and basically survive. and that involves a lot of the concepts that they're talking about there, which is assessing what's going on, getting away from, from, from the situation as fast as you can putting time, a distance between you and the shooter, the attacker. and then assessing next step, what the goal of being getting out of there and of course, living to fight another day. so i think that there's great concepts there. i think that you can do it in a different way. that's not dramatic training. there's it, there's a huge difference between someone who's been trained and somebody is on train. you gotta have some form of training, but you can do it in a less traumatizing way. no one's going to be trained to be an operator like we were overseas. do you just need to have these kids aware of what the situation is?
8:52 am
how important it is to understand the basic concepts and then hopefully live to see another day. and yet, wendy were also in nor versus the psychology the conversations happening from kid to kid. and very important part of this is children actually identifying, hey, this student, but doing it in a way that isn't considered to be bullying. that's, you know, it's not a threat. what kind of balance right now is happening within the class or within these students and the fact that they don't want to look at a friend when identify red flags, they're being told, identify. but if they pointed out, they could also be considered to be bullying. what kind of situations happening right now in the classroom? the same kind of situations that are happening out of the classroom, you have that same dynamic, that same fear with anybody that observes suspicious conduct, doesn't want to say anything. i mean, think about it. i mean, all 3 of us that seen interviewer so many scenarios were after the fact witnesses have come forward and said, i didn't want to be labeled as being a racist or jumping to conclusions or rushing to judgment. and therefore didn't report suspicious activity. so too, in the classroom,
8:53 am
and i love that we're all talking about this trauma informed nature of the way we have to conduct this training and it's age appropriate. that's important as well. but here's one thing that we always remind parents. parents often think, well if the children don't know about it, they won't be afraid, they won't be traumatized. they're going to hear about it at school or from peers. more often than not. that's really at now that everybody has a cell phone, even younger children. i think the goal and part of these schools is to, to break the news to them, to explain what's going on in the world in a way that won't make them freight in a way that is both age appropriate and situationally appropriate, depending on where they live in what's going on in their community are very great point from that. when did i tell you the new car side of stories, the prosecutors are considering charges against the shooters, parents arguing that they need to be held accountable for their failure to properly secure the hand gun that was used in the shooting. ethan father x, the reportedly purchased in just a few days later, we're finding out that the biggest element all this is the parents and the parents
8:54 am
that are ignoring things through last were due on this case. should have people been concerned about parents who might also have a lot of red flags about them. and what can parents do about other parents that they could go to that kind of mode and are not necessarily watching out what's going on in their own home. yeah, absolutely. well, no, i parents play a huge role obviously. so i mean, you've gotta get to the, to the previous point. we've got to be willing to step out and be brave and bold and call something out. even if it's uncomfortable. this student is concerning me. we've got to do the same with their parents and parents are going to step up, pay attention, look for their own red flags. they've got to be better about gun safety. look, if you're going to ask why we have firearms in our house, we keep treated very, very seriously treated very, very safely. you've got to be responsible when it comes to these situations and make sure that everyone in your home understands the rules, understands the situation. if there is a concern, there is a flag or if it's not you, if it's someone else that it's it's mentioned. so, and that is your mission is key. a communications can is able to be reported and actually attended to. without that threat of pushback,

wendy drew great talk to you on a horrible. busy situation some enjoy watching a movie to skip the real world that the concentrating virtual reality or the met averse is getting steam or to correspond natasha. sweet explains tech giants like facebook and microsoft are jumping in on the met reverse reality in full force. and while gamers already partake in a reality of their own, how will this appeal to non gamers and will it be for entertainment, socializing, joint workspaces, or simply stimulates a bigger experiment, robotic human. so again, it's combining the ability of a machine with grace and beauty of the human body weight. most people living their lives to the south, our world has become a safer place. the idea of an avatar has been grief in the big screen for years. the concept is to drive these remotely controlled body code avatars. they grown from human dna mixed with dna of the natives. marine in avatar body
