from moscow to the world. this is our see pleasure to have you with us today. i'm human only. we begin with breaking news from context on where there is mass on rest. restoring energy costs. crowds are reportedly attempting to storm government buildings. and there have reportedly been numerous arrest because our president has just lost the state of emergency in some areas. earlier i discussed the story with ortiz on the armstrong has been going on for a few days. now run about 3 days since the price kept on liquefied natural gas is lifted by, the government came in on, on new year. no, this has been felt by people all over the country, in particular, people in the west of the country and amongst the region. in particular, closer to central asia, food has to travel supplies, everything this essential for winters has to travel. the further the course, those fuel prices felt than those amongst the reason it's important to know the state of emergency has been cold, bad by presidents,
5:02 pm
a kind of as well as in the largest city in conflicts down. of course that gives that great sort of contrast between these 2 places out in the desert and these urban areas happening in house areas. stuff interesting on a very basic level. so what you're seeing is people going to the pumps to fill up their cars. they're seeing the prices double, they have to pay double for what they were paying just before new year. of course and in winter this is going to be a huge problem because people have to get around. it can get really cold hunting can cause exam. notice will turn in the capsule because it gets down to run about minus 40. now president, a coyote is called the state of emergency and longest thou and in a month where people have been torching police cars, they've been trying to storm government buildings have been reports of over 100 people arrested all over the country and things really getting out of hand police
5:03 pm
trying to quell the rest with tear gas and flash grenades. but nothing seems to be coming down. a state of emergency in allotted amongst our will go until january 19th kind of has come out and warmed the attacks against the military illegal. the military have been active in trying to, trying to quell these, these protests. he's also said as people should not be getting carried away in these new protest. people calling for himself to resign. i mean, we can see exactly what he has had to say right now. he said, you do your compatriots guilty to show prudence and not to come to provocations for me inside and outside to protect you for you and chaos, calls to attack, the military and civilian offices are illegal. the government will not watch for me if i machine you guys down here of course, because it's time is a huge export of gas. it really does rely on to get

those to the wheels in motion for the trade across the country to bring in money. thanks for the fact. and if people are going to the pumps and they're seeing these prices double, triple of course it's no surprise that people have come out into the streets as we've seen. hundreds of people lining up in the cities and marching, calling for the resignation of the government. now we have had reported in some major cities in what it was formerly known as asked, and i noticed full time, the capital r marty. the internet been disconnected. some popular messenger site has been lock . those are reports as of yet, and those arrest figures of over a 100 have not been confirmed by the police force as of yet, but it does look like he's, he's protest this unrest doesn't look like quelling soon. okay, another story we're across today. brussels is facing
5:05 pm
a backlash from major you nations. after it propose re categorizing nuclear and natural gas as green energy than you, german governments economy minister, branded the proposal a form of greenwashing. that's as energy prices in germany. as you can see, there have risen dramatically over the last 3 months. charlotte dubin skate takes off the story a new year, and a new spot is brewing between new members. bickering has erupted with state split over how energy from nuclear and gas sources should be classed in the future. the e u wants to categorize investments in some of these projects as being green, but others argue this is essentially green washing. labeling, nuclear energy as sustainable is wrong. this is a high risk technology. it is questionable whether this green washing will find acceptance on the financial market at all. that we think nuclear technology is dangerous. we still think a waste issue. as a result,
5:06 pm
we expressly reject the assessment on nuclear power under the commissions proposal investment in new nuclear energy facilities should be classified as a group if they meet certain technical standards. now that's led to accusations that the commission is actually destroying the credibility of the european eco labeled for financial investments with germany leading the charge of nations against these proposals. that could put it in direct collision, of course, with the blocks or that heavy weight. that is france. 70 percent of energy here is generated from nuclear power. so convinced is president lack on that. nuclear is the way forward. he's announced a 1000000000 euro investment expanding the industry will gaunt yolanda in order to guarantee france is energy independence to ensure our country's electricity supply
5:07 pm
and to achieve our objectives in particular carbon neutrality. in 2050 we will for the 1st time in decades, will really launch the construction of nuclear reactors in our country and continue to develop renewable energies. i'll be has the support from some austin block nations with slovak as prime minister agreeing that climate neutrality just can't be met without nuclear energy. but austria is furious over the plan, saying it will take the commission to court if it moves ahead with them. will will examine the present draft carefully and have already commissioned a legal opinion on nuclear power in the taxonomy in these plans are implemented in this way. we will sue because atomic power is dangerous and not a solution in the fight against the climate crisis. meanwhile, germany is also coming and the pressure over its anti nuclear stance from the czech republic. berlin has just all the clues of half of germany's remaining nuclear power plants, as part of
5:08 pm
a plan to withdraw completely from the technology. that prod, describes that as being a radical step, our government will have to work patiently and hard look for allies in europe and convince partners. finally, it also has to move forward with the construction of nuclear units and to encourage investment in other reasonable renewable sources. that is the way out of the energy crisis. the alternative is under development and poverty. and nobody wants that. all of this comes as europe is in the midst of an energy crisis, with some expert suggesting, crunch will last roy the way until 2023. that move by germany, including nuclear react is also could push up prices even further. and as prices in german neil was twice as high as they could be. there is an energy crisis that the prices of the rising rising cost means that the industry need more energy and
5:09 pm
that heating your home becomes expensive. we need cheap, stable energy to petition that run our country a lot focused on the interest of german industry and german customers. but that's the holo ideological agenda, and they follow to your logical agenda. the 1st thing they don't need get because they want to do everything with the nubile. it's a kind of magic. they believe that they can do that again. as the 2nd audiological agenda, they follow that there are hard core intro, rushing one solution to that coin. this could be the approval of the nord stream to pipeline that would supply got us directly from russia to germany. however, with attention, ty, you between the you and moscow, the green light for that project is far from certain,
5:10 pm
leaving the you scrambling to find the money to pay increasing energy bills while members remain bitterly divided over the future of energy policy, challenge even sky artie, paris well, let's keep a thought energy theme. the 2nd section of the undersea pipeline linking russia to germany, has been filled with gauss with the channel now ready for exports. but the use certification of it is taking longer than anticipated. our senior correspondent morale, gusty of looked now at all the fuss surrounding north stream to 2020. what was the year that the great green dream that's a rude awakening. we all felt it in our bills, but no. where like europe, power gas prices are up for 500 percent in a year. this wasn't what your average green party propaganda, booster promised. europe was supposed to go from a dirty oil burning wasteland to
5:11 pm
a green renewable paradise just like that, which was never going to happen. this isn't hindsight, this was foresight 11 years ago when german business leaders laughed at the very idea german society doesn't like nuclear energy, and i don't want to comment on this, but i don't understand how you hit your homes. you don't want gas you on developing nuclear energy, what are you going to do? burn firewood. you don't have even that you'd have to go to siberia to get firewood . growing jokes aside. magnetic mines knew that the transition to a carbon neutral society would, would take decades, and it wouldn't be easy. they built newer, cleaner power plants and new pipelines. natural gas will be a crucial part of the energy mix in europe for a long time. new projects like nurturing to are needed to ensure that europe's
5:12 pm
month energy is met to reach in on them eyeing the land this project, regardless of how you feel about the gas pipeline or a back, russia is legally approved and constitutionally approved, project must be implemented into any way then, and what's not stream to is not the projects of putin. rather, it is a project where a lot of european companies take part in it should serve to assure the gas security of europe, lord stream to has been without a doubt, the most politicized energy project and recent history. they called it an opportunity, a try a break, so a catastrophe. everyone just had to have a say, germany is a captive versus a supply to get rid of the colon, get rid of the nuclear figure. he so much of the oil. yes. from russia. i think it's something that neil has to look at. the oldest thing is neither nato know the u. s. had much of a problem with the 1st pop life, which ones parallel to nord stream too, which right now supplies germany with gas,
5:13 pm
which is $5.00 to $7.00 times cheaper than market prices. i would anyone have a problem with that? well, aside from the competition, approval of additional liquefied natural gas exports from free portal and g furthest this administration's commitment to promoting american energy, american jobs, and the american economy. i am pleased at the department of energy is doing what i can to promote an efficient regulatory system that allows for molecules of us freedom to be exported to the world. and is arguably the gist of it. they threatened to sanction german companies, a nato ally, which didn't go down well in berlin. european energy policy is decided in europe not, and the usa. we fundamentally reject external interventions and sanctions with extra territorial effect. much has changed since the pipeline was completed. washington backed away from sanctions and
5:14 pm
a new government was elected in germany with energy prices at record levels. there were no rush to get gas flowing as things presently stand. this pipeline cannot be approved because it does not fulfil requirements of european energy legislation and questions of security are still open. signal seems like that one statement helps and natural gas prices, 10 percent higher, and europe, which of course, european families and households and businesses a going to have to pay. but at least the government saves face. and the mean dob. net show and european leaders and bureaucrats and prayer, and pray together that the energy prices somehow magic themselves back into the realm of affordability. america is passing down the hatches as a winter storm pummels parts of the country. it's causing chaos for flights with around 5000, cancelled over the weekend alone, leaving hundreds of thousands of would be travelers on able to fly. the conditions
5:15 pm
also forced federal offices in the u. s. capital to close on them. that's as the latest forecasts are predicting up to 8 inches of snow in the region. but airlines haven't just been grounding flights over the inclement weather. the late cyst all may cron covered. i break it spin, having an impact to on back in october, south, west or lines canceled almost 2000 flights. just days after a pilot union sued the courier over a vaccine mandate. while the biden team's been trying to reach a cobit shall target among american works of 2 thirds. that's a move resisted quite a lot by senior government figures. the biden administration has to follow law. they have follow constitution, their implementers of the law. they can't just make it up, and in this case, they're forcing american workers to decide between their health and their job, and they just can't do it. it's just wrong. the backdrop to all that, the u. s. registering over a 1000000 new cobit cases in the past,
5:16 pm
they alone kill up and takes a closer look at ju biden's efforts. the battle the pandemic. many will remember joe biden's harsh words to donald trump during the presidential debate last year. and he won his response from that many dish should not remain as president of the united states of america. when those words were said, the cova death hall was around $220000.00. we'll since then, coven death numbers have risen to about 800000. the united states just set a record high for corona virus infections. remember, when biden said that he would quickly and easily solve this problem? how's he doing? now back in may, joe biden set his goal to partially vaccinate 70 percent of the population by july, well, fast forward and that 70 percent has still not been vaccinated. what vaccine mandates have achieved is to further polarize the country. a large number of professionals
5:17 pm
in vital industries have lost their jobs. protests have shaken the country. ah, he's been reading to me what we're doing here today, and that is writing out. i agree with a large number of medical workers have been suspended. is kind of surreal. honestly, because i love my job, and i have been a coven nurse for since the beginning of the pandemic. i've been a nurse for 10 years. i worked for kaiser for 5. and when the pandemic happened we, we were scared in the beginning,
5:18 pm
like everybody by it is this amazing time to where we have really these people i work with amazing doctors and nurses to set up to work every day. and just rolled up their sleeves and faced their fears and walked into these rooms, not knowing. and if they were going to get co later bring it home to their families, more than 2000 flights got canceled by american airlines due to a pilot shortage. law enforcement has also been hit by reductions. it's not the issue that the public wanted or the, the politicians said they were gonna deliver. they'd want this black and white issue. it's a gray area between you're going to have this big gap between qualified police officers who are trained your season. new cops coming in the, the quality of new cops coming in is going to be held to a lower standard. so you're not going to get the best candidates, so do up patrol your streets and keep you safe. it's going to be a very organic living,
5:19 pm
breathing problem that isna as no solution in sight. with so many things going wrong, jo biden's approval ratings are now in free fall. the depths haven't slowed down either. in fact, more people have died of covered so far in 2021. then in 2020. so this year biden's 2 main plans. rebuild the people's trust and better fight. coven have failed to come. true. caleb martin r. t new york. just to recap a reminder, really they w each other mainstream medical body. say that vaccination is the best way to stay safe. ah, it's a happy new year so far for the embattled former governor of new york. andrew cuomo to charges against them hoping dropped those of covering up cobit debts and nursing homes on inappropriately grouping an aide. the announcement from the manhattan district attorney's office sparked out ridge the new manhattan da as excusing our former corrupt governor of several charges. he was
5:20 pm
facing regarding nursing homes and sexual assault. there are still investigations underway with f, b i. d o j eastern district in ag, but there's no doubt they're making deals with the devil. today's news that the manhattan door won't press charges against disgraced former governor cuomo over his coven nursing home scandal is yet another politically motivated decision by left wing prosecutors. cuomo has blood on his hands, his victims, and their families deserve justice. on while in office under coma was accused of letting people into care homes without testing during the early stages of the pandemic. he's also been accused of under counting care home cove at that spine, some 50 percent. cuomo himself has constantly denied wrong to but who hears? 3328, died in the hospital, died in a nursing home. they died the obligations on the nursing home to say: i can't take
5:21 pm
a coven positive person. on too crowded, i'm too busy. i don't have enough p p e, whatever the answer is, does it matter is if they say i can take the person, they can't take the person when we didn't provide information, it allowed press people, cynex politicians to fill the void. i just want to be sure people know these are the facts. these are the facts. ah, everything that could have been done was done. cuomo, resigned in august after a decade in officer made public pressure over harassment allegations. as mentioned, he was charged with inappropriately groping an assistant, but some hours ago, a district attorney concluded that although the accuser is credible, it was not enough evidence to bring the case to court less cross slide now to tracy,
5:22 pm
alvina tracy as assistant director of voices for seniors an advocacy group for the elderly in nursing home. she also lost her 76 year old father to cove it after he was in a long island nursing home trace. you're very welcome to the program. do you think the decision by prosecutors in manhattan, which concluded and under quinn, was favor is a justified one. it was a terrible decision. and shame on us for believing that the justice system would actually work for us. instead of helping cuomo cover up his crimes. listen, while no intentionally ordered a deadly virus into elderly homes and that created coven death chambers all around the state for our loved ones. now love ones had no chance. there is one man to blame. that man is andrew cuomo. i mean, what kind of society or me, when over 15000 people in die horrible agonizing deaths alone. my father died alone,
5:23 pm
and there's no semblance of accountability. the situation tracy has led to criticisms out. there are legal limitations when citizens go up against powerful figures. do you feel there's a level playing field when it comes to preparing a case? absolutely not. i can tell you. i've been on the phone all day with the members of our voices for seniors. and we really feel that there was some deal making. and that's like long mo, went away quietly and resigned. i'll tell you this. he can broker all the deals he wants. we're not going away. and one day he's going to have to face his maker and he's not to be able to broker a deal there. i'll tell you that he's going to be accountable in this life or the next. you mentioned your advocacy group, tristin. what, what do you plan to do to really prepare yourself for any potential future legal bottles regarding the plight of the elderly and care homes in the pandemic? because i'm sure there's a lot of yours who have been in
5:24 pm
a similar situation thinking well, what happened to to, to my father, my relative, where's that just as what happens? know? well, we're not giving up. we're requesting a meeting with the manhattan da to find out why he dropped the charges because all we hear about is that, you know, there are credible witnesses and there is troubling evidence and not what we've seen in a lot of the state investigation. so we want to know why that was dropped and why that wasn't, why they didn't go forward on that. we still have an f, b, i investigation to look forward to. and we also have a couple of bills on the table. we have one federal bill which will improve life for senior citizens and nursing homes going forward. and we have the state bill called the justice for nursing home victims act, which would raise the level of care in these homes and would raise the fines in these homes. so maybe these care homes would be less inclined to treat the elderly or in a bad way. if i may then, as mentioned,
5:25 pm
this issue is particularly acute for you having lost your father in a care home. what was his experience like there? what was the situation like? he was in a nursing home for rehabilitation after next surgery, so he had all his mental faculties. he was scared, he called me up on the phone and he said if you don't get me out of here, i'm going to die. because he heard ambulances coming and going, people coughing, and he described chaos and commotion. so he was very scared, who knew something was wrong, and we did everything that we possibly could to get him out. but it was too late. he already killed him to contact with cove. it the whole unit came into contact with coven, they're all over 70 deaths in his unit along, so that the protocols just weren't in place. that that's essentially what you're saying. you know, they didn't have a plan at all. they felt forced to take these, these elderly people in that had called it listen, we had a ship, we had the u. s. s. comfort, there was
5:26 pm
a hospital ship. we had at least 4 or exhilarating hospitals that were built with our tax payer dollars that didn't see one patient. there were other places to put public positive patients. instead of putting them in with the elderly, who are the most vulnerable. this is far from the only case as you know better than most you have communicated that though have dealt with similar scenarios. what's their view? a of what's happening with the case and also the general situation or on cur homes . everybody is very disgusted. they're dejected, but you know, we all lean on each other and will rise again like the phoenix from the ashes. we're never going away if quote things that he's ever going to run for political office again in new york, where anywhere else we're going to be there will be his worst nightmare. we're not gonna let him get away with it even if it's just us constantly reminding the public . and i'll say this now. listen, i'm not
5:27 pm
a sexual harassment survivor from andrew cuomo, but i have to say that dropping the sex abuse cases in and with the nursing home jesus, i mean, not for nothing. this will prevent victims from coming forward in the future. i mean, it sent women's rights back and he does not even just our seniors, but our seniors are women. i, i, we really are, are at a loss in our group but won't rise up a little push forward. just a couple more points which interest if i may, what's been the general response from authorities to your group to what you're saying? the a lot of the politicians that we work with are on our side. but you know, they do tell us that cuomo still has some power and some clout in new york. they told us when some of the reports were about to come out, that we were going to be disturbed and upset by what was in the report. just
5:28 pm
understand, not only to cuomo, send in 9000 cubic positive patients in the most vulnerable, but he covered his crimes up and then he falsified public data. so there are multiple crimes. i don't understand why they refuse to prosecute. other than that there would deals that were made and it seems that a lot of the politicians, we speak to echo those sentiments at what do you think would be justice in the situation? prison actually, you know, i'll be honest with you. my fantasy is that he is in a nursing home the rest of his life and he is treated like my father was treated and like those 15000 people were treated. that would be justice to me, but i would take present time to. are you hopeful about the the government will listen to some of your please. no, i have to tell you, i feel a little bit down today by the f. b i investigation is ever expanding and they are taking their time with it. so who knows?
5:29 pm
you know, never discount the power. 15000 angels is what i always say. but i, i'm prepared either way for it to go forward or for it to, to end. well, thanks so much for coming, the program and sharing. if you can't be going over the death of your father and i'm sure a lot of interviews, but we do appreciate you coming on and giving us thought, but personal experience so that our viewers can, can sense that. i'm sure a lot of them have gone through something similar as well over the last number of years, tracy, thank you. tracy l. vino, assistant director of voices for seniors, an advocacy group for the elderly and nursing homes. thank you. all right, so that is where we leave the news for not just come up to huff, pass our this is our team international research. and again, we're programs right ahead. who are all those driven by dreamers shaped bankers and those
