12:30 pm
what does that really mean? all that are more right here on our t america. ah, this will flagrant wireless, the national and demands of firm response from international community. so today i'm announcing the 1st tranche of sanctions to impose cost on russia in response to their actions yesterday. hello, and thank you so much for joining us. i'm natasha sweet and 1st god. now hughes as tensions between russia and ukraine continue. it appears that many surrounding countries have a strong opinion on the matter. united nations security council, along with the u. s. and 6 other countries held an emergency meeting monday at the request of ukraine. according to a letter, a un ambassador said, due to his actions were in violation of the un charter, but the russian president called for his country's forces to maintain peace in
12:31 pm
eastern ukraine territories. 2 completely different stories being told here. a white house official was quoted as saying, rushes move of acknowledge the independence of the 2 regions and ukraine is the start of it. hopes invasion? well, being pressured to issue sanctions against russia. president biden spoke tuesday afternoon. let me be clear. these are totally defensive, lose on our part. we have no intention of fighting russia. russia, president latimer, and also spoke frankly about assumptions that he wanted to put to rest. just to russia made a decision yesterday to recognize the sovereignty of 2 don, both peoples republics. and i would like to say it right here. we see, and we anticipate speculations on this issue that russia wants to restore the empire within the empires border. so this is totally false. president clinton went on to explain what the true motivation was behind monday's move. daresha,
12:32 pm
i will repeat. now the situation with ukraine is different and it has to do with the fact that unfortunately, the territory of this country is being used by 3rd countries to create a threats against the russian federation. this is the only point and from where we bring and john jordan, a former navy intelligence officer, thanks so much for joining us, john. my pleasure, natasha. so i want to start with something that biden said during his speech. let's take a lesson. as we respond, my administration is using every tool our disposal protect american businesses and consumers from rising prices at the pump. as i said last week, defending freedom will have cost for us as well and here at home. so freedom has a cost. what are your thoughts on biting blaine mean? be already high gas prices on the sanctions that he has placed speed on russia
12:33 pm
today? well, it's very convenient for president biden in this sense. first of all, the president biden conducts foreign policy always with an eye towards domestic policy. that's why the abrupt withdrawl from afghanistan, they thought it would be popular bluff in their faces, but that was their goal. biden, the vitamin distractions for the oil prices and gas prices for the u. s. consumer inflation is rising here at home. they did this long before this started long before the current crisis. and now our president biden is going to try to push this off, or as much of this off as he can onto a foreign policy issue, rather than acknowledge his own failed, an ill conceived domestic policies which have hurt american consumers. so it's kind of, he's going to take advantage of this to shift some blame, as the democrats look, ask it towards the mid term elections. what do you make of this statement and these
12:34 pm
things? well, 1st of all, the use of late use of language here is really important. the fact that biting call that an invasion means that it's not an incursion, or it's not something the white house will seek to minimize to, to deescalate the crisis when they use the word invasion. that is a very specific and very overt mean meaning. and so when they use that, that mean that's a signal to moscow that the full suite of sanctions, including probably perhaps sub further aid to ukraine is on the table. but that is a very significant turn of phrase here. and now a new poll conducted by convention of states action says that a whopping 84.8 percent of american voters believe the u. s. should have limited involvement in the crane russia conflicts. so why is the u. s. have involved in this and is it mostly the support is european allies or do you think it's something bigger? well, the 84 percent opposes us troop or
12:35 pm
u. s. military involvement here. foreign adventures have become very unpopular over the last 1520 years as well. certainly since 2005 become very unpopular and the american public does not support sending us boys to ukraine, especially was the one that is not an article 5 nato member. it be interesting to see if that survey had tested using sanctions and whether not, americans were to the extent to which americans are willing to absorb higher energy prices. are americans willing to send a defensive military aid to ukraine? are they willing to see the u. s. military provide electronic warfare support or reconnaissance support to ukraine. should a conflict unfold, i'd like to see those numbers. but one thing that's unfortunate here, and i've talked a lot of my russian friends, everybody knows that, you know, i'm, i like, i have a lot of russian friends. i learn the language love, their culture, admires so much of their history. but one of the things that is unfair,
12:36 pm
it all to unfortunate has happened here is that russia has become a toxic brand in the united states. and you look at a whole bunch of other surveys which showed that the one thing that united american actually now, unfortunately, is antipathy towards moscow or fear of russia. so it's, it's going to be interesting to see how much the american public, how much pain they're willing to absorb. because there will be a massive spike in energy costs and prices for goods that depend on energy, whether it's plastics or whatnot is going to get passed on the consumer. so what their appetite for that is remains to be seen. yeah, should be interesting, john jordan, thank you so much. we always appreciate your insight taking and the protests in the streets of downtown ottawa may be done for now. supporters of the movement say it's not over. and now similar convoy in protest could be taking place all over the world. and as our t correspondent paxton, boyd explains true dose. you said executive powers are now coming under intense
12:37 pm
scrutiny. hi paxton in natasha. well, you know, truckers and protesters quite easily took over the streets of downtown ottawa for nearly 3 weeks that was before a massive police operation took place over the weekend that really cleared out most of this area. now what you're seeing as a result of fence is erected like the one you see here, behind me barricades being put up dozens of checkpoints all over downtown otto, a heavy, heavy police activity. and that's all in an effort to make sure that those protesters do not come back down here to downtown ottawa. now last night on monday night, just introduce the prime minister and canada law makers voted to extend an emergency act that essentially gives police the power to crack down on these protests on these demonstrations. and hopefully open up those u. s. canada trade routes. but also in that emergency act, it gives,
12:38 pm
it has blocked millions of dollars that have been donated on online funding sites. and a lot of that has been donated by the u. s. a roughly 45 percent of about $10000000.00 have come from americans and i want canadian politician mark straw even taking to twitter to tell the story of a single mother who had her accounts frozen because she donated $50.00 to the freedom convoy and that was when that was still legal. now we spoke to several supporters of this move it down here. like we said, most of the truckers, most of the protesters have been moved out of here. lots of them arrested. many of them vacated the premises, but there are many supporters of this movement still here in downtown ottawa. and they're very happy to see that what they've done here has inspired similar protests, similar demonstrations all over the world, particularly in the united states where there are talks of freedom convoy eventually making its way to washington dc. presumably for president joe biden
12:39 pm
state of the union address, which will take place next week. take a listen. what i love about it is seeing people standing up, they're starting to see through the crap that's being fed to us and they're standing up and speaking up and saying, no, leave us alone. so go, go usa, you to, to those who want to go do it and just stay peaceful. and just remember that love is the only way that we can, that we can win. some people might construe it or perceive it as rebellion. and i think it really is a righteous anger for freedom saying this isn't okay. is that cry, right? that comes from deep within. it says, this isn't right. and we deserve better more. and how many people came from other countries to north america for like better. and they're starting to think what's going on here. obviously a lot of supporters of that movement outraged by the outcome of that vote last
12:40 pm
night ca, calling it a, you know, an attack on their freedom. and we're gonna wait and see because that vote actually could exacerbate things or talks that more demonstrations more protests could pop up as a result of that vote last night. natasha. thank you so much. that's paxton boyd. my friend tonight mike bloomberg, former presidential candidate, has now come out against his own party, saying that they do not change course. there will be a democratic wipe out, or the hypocritical mask mandate, soft on crime policies and struggling economy enough to change voters from blue to red. discuss coming up after the break. ah. it's been 30 years since the soviet union collapsed,
12:41 pm
long misconduct or chill on to what the problem yet nuclear you talk, so shown where you also trust them with all of them. ukraine was one of the independent states that emerged from the ruins of a super bow. i'm doing awesome. would you also get on google greens? come a little more surely confusing. some of the yeah. can last new lease in west inner deer better one more law. a finish for a new company who watch at the past 3 decades. green light for ukraine. eye witnesses recall the events. this will be more or less a little what i knew about it. i'm not sure, but it be about 4 months with motor windows and what other forces were at play, the producer to whom you show in ship machine, those them you put in the kid what it a little bit when it shows us the most of the versions old, nice, take
12:42 pm
a look at you. great. 30 years out the gaining independence. if you're going to remove your phone with us, unless you mean like unity retorted live, but a will, it makes you could be issue nashville still holding. so look forward to talking to you all that technology should work for people. robot must obey the orders given by human beings except where such short or is it conflict with the 1st law? show your identification. we should be very careful about artificial intelligence at the point, obviously is to great trust, rather than fear a very job with artificial intelligence. real. somebody with a robot must protect its own existence
12:43 pm
with ill. oh, it did not fax in with president trump led to a blue wave of democratic victories and key elections across the country. president biden's record of failure could have democrats headed out for a wipe out. that's the term used by one former candidate, lamenting the bleak outlook for his party in this year's midterm elections. billionaire and former new york mayor michael bloomberg penned an op ed on tuesday, or he argued quote, without an immediate course correction, democrats are headed for a wipe out in november. up and down the ballads. bloomberg's advice to fellow
12:44 pm
democrats was to embrace a practical problem solver mentality. instead of the parties current emphasis on political correctness above all else. and virginia voters chose republican glen young can over former governor terry mcauliffe last year after a tight race. and it was the jew piece 1st statewide when since 2009 and other states are poised to follow suit. if swing voters see read in november. as you can see here are states current political standing by their governors. so our democrats doomed in november. welcome at martin and civil rights attorney, robert patillo to share their insight. thanks for joining us gentlemen. thanks latasha. thank you. thank dimmer, credit, congressional campaign committee or portal. consider republican attacks on democrats centered on things like critical race theory and be funding the police to be, quote, alarmingly potent. if so it may be bloomberg spheres are well founded and i want to
12:45 pm
start with you. what do you think? are democrats obsessed with political correctness? well, it doesn't really matter what they're obsessed with in the sense that what matters is what voters are associating them with and feeling about them in virginia, which is where i happened to live. what happened was the democrat terry mcauliffe was in a debate, said parents shouldn't have a say over education pretty quickly that became the voters looking and saying, hey, one guy young can wants to give more opportunity for parents and influence on the schools that doesn't have to be true or false, just has to become what people are relating to the parties. right now, the democrats, the people, when they're out there, you're talking independence. and some moderate democrats are saying inflation is up gas prices up. the policies of biden seem to be ham handed. they don't seem to be working. that's what they're feeling now. but there's 2 ways to judge whether it's going to be at one party in or $140.00 out in march of ways. but to that i can tell you right now, money if you watch the money flowing into the republican party right now, it's because the lobby, as sure,
12:46 pm
smart investors know where to put the money to have influence. and they believe kevin mccarthy will be speaker. the 2nd is the incumbent party's retirements, and there are over 30 democrats in the house, retiring. they're not retiring because they're going to lose their rates. they're all in jury man or district. they're retiring because it's no fun to be in the minority after you are chairman of a committee or you were a chairman of a head of a, an initiative or whatever it is. so the winds are blowing that way and the voters are associating the democrats with failure. the question is, it's a long wait till november, and we have seen a lot of shifts and changes. joe biden. numbers are up in the last week because of probably the saber rattling over war. so we're going to see some, some real shifts still, but right now it looks like a wipe out in the fall. yeah. interesting. it is a tourism that voters typically blame the party in power for problems facing the country. whether or not democrats are really to blame. they were surgeon in violent crime wave. affecting major u. s. cities as well known, is the democrats,
12:47 pm
soft on crime approach to blame for it, and if not, we'll swing voters be able to be convinced that this is the case. what do you think, robert? but the look ridiculous away the do right has decided to frame this as democrats being somehow soft on crime, assault on crime, the same that when a 12 year old like to me, rice is in his front yard plain wolfy, a toy gun, the guns shot by 2 officers and 30 seconds and murdered in front of his family and nobody's were brought to justice. republicans consider that be soft on crime to say, well we don't want that to happen so often a was when like derrick jovan with me on his neck saying he can't breathe and things kill republican call that being soft on crime. when say we want those people to be able to go home and have their coffee to so right. respect it. what has to happen is understanding that we were have police units around the country. they resisted every single effort being made that would work court luther from the will work or communities being able to have a safe and exactly how they are police, old and civil, saying the democrats out soft on crime messaging. let's figure out how we can work to have a more response,
12:48 pm
so not police for throughout the communities our country. so we can get poor things of the community policing, getting officer, got a cars back on foot. make sure we have the type of social services in place that will take away b of the root causes of crime. while ensuring that we secure something border something me an eta can agree on to stop the types of drugs and guns that come into this nation to fuel what's in violent crime. and what's the gang violence? yielding the federal resources available to treat gang violence the same way we treat here within this country. so instead of republican find a label efforts, the criminal justice reform being soft on crime. let's get to real solutions to las hyperbolic talk radio talking points that tend to just alienate people's to fixing the problem. the nature crime is certainly a very complex issue as you mentioned, and america's response to code 1900, turned into a deeply partisan issue with democratic policies being criticized as excessive or not in the fan for everybody else. and then predictions that swing voters will, did democrats over frustration with mask and vaccine mandates?
12:49 pm
and will it be seen as a referendum again, putting limits on individual freedom to keep america healthier? well again, i to 2 points on this. one is the party and power ends up getting the blame, right. so i don't know who could have done what differently donald trump had some of the same policies that job i did on on cove it. and so, but it certainly is true that when you have gavin newsome and mayor garcia at the super bowl without masks, people look up and say, hypocrites, you know, now the reality is they, most politicians are hypocrites, were not surprised by that both parties. but i want to back up for one second, the robert, the american public, a show c h r cities with a failed experiment that was driven by the black lives matter movement and others to say, deep on the police. again, it doesn't matter if it didn't all happen. what matters is there's prosecutors in philadelphia in st. louis and new york city who are not prosecuting crimes. and the people in the cities are saying, hey, wait a 2nd, we don't,
12:50 pm
we don't feel safe. and you got the mayor of new york who's a former cobb st. i want to see better. so that the, the, the fun, the police, a lot of times it didn't happen. but what happened was the public associates lawlessness by the way, one more thing in san francisco, the blue is to the blues cas cities. they threw out 3 democrats on the school board and put another democrats because they were out of touch. they said this, so there's a lot going on in the democratic party. and it includes, as you said, the cobit, you know, right now, the democrats that have sense are getting rid of cobit mandates as quick as they can to try to look like they're on the right side. but they're going to be stuck with all of that. all of that baggage right now, and that's part of having power. you end up having the baggage robert, could this result and implications for public health going forward? yeah, i think one of the most tragic things coming out of this is going to be the lack of confidence that people have in our public health enterprise going forward. we've seen one political party go out of their way to demonize doctors to demonize in,
12:51 pm
you know, with this that we've never heard of, to be minimized the entire industry of health and epidemiology. the default with protecting nationwide and replacing expert opinion, replacing the actual peer review studies, look random things you find on the internet. more people go there, the big chunk of people who take their medical advice from joe rogan, who used to take their medical advice from tweets from donald trump. everything they are in danger going forward because as we know out of the world get smaller, there's more transportation, the risk of another pandemic white. this is a lot more likely to happen. i've like more likely even worse than this one. and people who simply put, do not believe in the institutions they're there to protect us there. to be studying these issues. they're going to be very hard to get those things under control where they're just caught that miss. if we're in this information apparatus in existence, which always seems to undermine the types of public health efforts their need of to put secure to public and hopefully, hopefully keep us safe in the future. and what about gas prices,
12:52 pm
which are still rising, that's bound to be a factor for countless swing voters when they go to cast our ballad in november. how much is the economy to blame for a feel in administration? it will look i, it's very simple. i buy milk, i got 4 kids, my wife and i buy milk all the time. we buy gas all the time. we see it go up, up, up, people feel that and they're angry about it. and again, they associated with one party in this case by men his team. and i think that's right, especially on gas. they know he change the rules in order to do the green stuff and it hasn't helped him and it's hurt them at the pump. interesting, robert, you have the last word. oh i think what this, what vitamins we really pushing for is the fact that bill beg better that investment in green technology is a cycle will take us away from being dependent on foreign oil the way from being the pedal awards in the middle east. and we put electric charging station invested in with your cars and vehicles, which only done what gas prices are really. i'm think democrats have to meet that want to the american people. if you want to. finally rid ourselves from having to
12:53 pm
worry about gas prices was do i look to be a good invest in green deal sentiment? we're at a time. thank you so much. thanks a 1000. thanks. and while we are seeing major censorship in places like australia and canada, some argue the biden administration, along with big tech, have teamed up against those who may have a different viewpoint about their current of iris vaccine. even questioning the lack of research behind it on social media can get a post taken down or an account temporarily blocked. so was asking questions or sharon, a different experience about the vaccine, really putting out false information, newly appointed f da commissioner robert calif may argue, so. in a tweet on dr. calif, new professional twitter page, he says his new commitment involves countering misinformation about science and the f. d. a that has become increasingly prevalent during his confirmation at senator byrd defended caliph, but didn't bring up the fact that he was criticized by the public. he's in
12:54 pm
a lot of currency as to what he's done. i've never seen the 58 commissioner and 9 months of service or match was the length of his army, 50 egg, that accomplished anything, much and last as many megabytes that have been raised. senator bur, went on to say that doctor callus is extremely qualified, having bipartisan support, but is that what the american people really think from where we turn to ben swine investigative journalists and host as blue bus right here on our tea? thanks so much for joining us. ben, thanks for having me on and so cal has said that he is looking to strengthen the afternoon of science foundation and to counter misinformation about science. do you think he will really put out more science about his existing cron of iris vaccines, or is he just going to ramp up the government's defense about them? right, so that's such an interesting play of words, right?
12:55 pm
because essentially what he said is he wants to battle mis information and get more trust in science. well, one way you could do that is by walking in and saying, here's the thing, guys. if i take over the f d a, the 1st thing i'll do is promise it won't take a 75 years to release the data on why we approved the corona virus vaccine. you know, there's so many things that have happened over the last 2 years that have sewn distrust in the public. and so even though what robert was saying a minute ago to what this f, the 8 commissioner, you know, he, the, the nominee is saying there is so much of using the term misinformation as if there's this group of people who are out there intentionally deviously putting out bad information in order to trick people. they actually believe that in some cases, but in reality, most of the quote unquote, misinformation has actually come from government agencies like the f d a and the cdc who continually changed their position. and they now use terms like the science says change really that's, that's a completely dishonest, a point of view to say, the science change,
12:56 pm
your understanding of the science might have changed. your acknowledgment of science might have changed. but the science didn't actually change her. and correcting misinformation is one thing, but do you think the sta wants to flag any other opinion about the vaccine that is just not supportive as false? and this is a relatively new vaccine, and some people are reporting some major side effects. and how was this not considered to have any science behind it? well, that's entirely the point law. i was in washington dc a couple of weeks ago. and there was a ron johnson of wisconsin. the senator held a vaccine injury round table there in dc. and there were a couple dozen people who came to that, who took part in the pfizer trials, who had been badly injured as a result of taking the coven 19 vaccine. it's not fake. it's not untrue now. does that mean they're the majority? no. but it doesn't, it also means that it's not impossible to find people who have been injured. it's
12:57 pm
a real problem. there's a b, b, c, news, journalist presenter who was also recently died as a result of, according to our autopsy. so these things need to come out and the truth needs to be told about absolutely, well, unfortunately, we are out of time best one. thank you so much for your insight. and that's all the time we have for today. thank you so much for watching and have a great night. ah, ah, ah, more than 20 years have passed since one of the world's deadliest terrorist attacks that took thousands of lives. people started to scream. there was a wave that came over us. that was like opening up an oven door, but not all wounds of heel. the survivors and respond does have increased rates of
