civilian deaths continued some mounds here in the next people's republic. over the last couple of days, at least 4 people were killed by the shelling of the ukraine and military. and of course, scores of civilians have been wounded after residential areas were bombed by the ukrainian military. now this tuesday, i visited some of the places where people lost their lives. once again, there were civilian areas and i spoke to the locals as well as recorded everything that i saw with my own eyes. let's take a look. ukrainian nationalist forces, 2nd senior shilling civilians here in the city of funds or nest this. so market was bombed earlier in the day. as i understand the multiple rocket launching systems had been used. answer from what's the emergency services toby? it looks like it's a cluster. munitions are 23020 millimeter

ah, rockets have been used now. we are located in a well very, extremely residential area and it's been showed continuously for the last 8 years as ukrainian positions unknown that are away. however, there are no positions, often at the people's republic military here, as once again, this is a residential area. this is a market that there is a school, there are residential buildings everywhere, basically. but as i've spoken to the locals here, they said this had been going on for the last 8 years at the fed was, i don't know what to say. ukraine hates us. and that's it, they want to destroy us. it's been this way for 8 years. the suburbs, especially, we have suffered for years, but now the situation has become much tougher through with the shilling has been taking place since may now thanks. shells were flying towards the school and markets were also on fire. the key of military hit every day. some shell fragments landed in my yard just a month ago, the hospital was hit. my friend died from injuries after the shelling. they hit

been left behind and remained in the firing positions as well. germany's foreign minister alena burbock has pledged to supply more tanks and howitzers to crane the promise came as she became the 1st german official to visit ukraine during the war in vinegar, talking it in a few days. we will start training ukrainian soldiers on the altar. modern pans or habits, 2000 in which we will deliver together with the netherlands as we are working with german companies to ensure that ukraine can get state of the art systems to protect of cities against future attacks. gina, we will continue to support a european, pre ukraine and humanitarian financial, economic, technological, political and energy matters. not just today but also to morrow and in the long term. finance. yes. gotcha. well, there's definitely a lot of people in germany who would rather the country's foreign minister speak for herself when it comes to sending even more military hardware to ukraine. i mean, just about a week ago, she was giving a speech,
11:08 pm
trying to rally support for these new weapons shipments. when she was met with a crowd of angry protesters, they heckled her. they called her a war monger listing. listen, oh, i a monday bare bark even with the faced a crowd that threw an egg and a piece of cheese at her when she was trying to give another speech. so this isn't exactly most people's idea of a warm reception. now bareback also made a number of statements on her 1st on her 1st trip to crane since the beginning of russia's military operation alongside what we just heard about sending more weapons to ukraine. she also said that her country's going to need to completely cut itself off from russian energy imports. yeah. um, may i, we have understood more than clearly that economic dependence does not bring security. if the aggressor simply does not care about the well being of its people
11:09 pm
. that is why we are decisively reducing our dependence on russian energy to 0 and doing so for ever in id. ultimately, that's despite the fact that germany is 3rd largest gas importer, a company called v and g just agreed to moscow's demand that russian gas from needs to be paid for with, rubles by unfriendly countries. so clearly, not everyone in germany wants to break with russia, is energy supply with the german economy and the situation that it, it is. how are they expected thing pay for all of this military hardware, while sending tons of weapons and military hardware and to ukraine on top of trying to break with admirably really cheap russian, oil and gas? the implication of that from you, official seems to be that ordinary europeans are going to start having to cough up dough for that. if we don't want the jungle to invade our garden, then we have to pay a price for it. we have to understand that to defend freedom and to fight against the ones who fight against ukraine will have
11:10 pm
a cost. and the politicians should have the courage to explain to the people that this cost has to be accepted. because otherwise, the cost will be much bigger. that's at the same time that essentially are getting more and more expensive for european fuel food rent. the cost of living across the board is just skyrocketing with record breaking 7 percent over 7 percent rate of inflation to boot. so it's really not surprising that when bareback give these gives these kinds of speeches that she's met with crowds that want to throw eggs and cheese that are as well as insults. in the latest move to penalize moscow, the use foreign policy chief, joseph burrell, has urged the block to consider seizing frozen russian foreign currency reserves to help pay for rebuilding ukraine. when questioned on the matter, russian foreign ministers are gay, love slammed the idea as savory. and then wasn't that what else? you could call it faster, they are not even hiding it any more. this is become a habitual act for the west. for example,

the u. s. throws money belonging to the us can central bank and they want to use that money not to help the people of afghanistan who suffered from the 20 year occupation of nato troops in the country, but instead use it on their own personal goals which are not related to the restoration of afghanistan's economy. but joseph burrell is famous not just for this statement, not only for his ideas when it comes to confiscating other people's things. recently, he also said that the ukrainian crisis must be resolved only by military means. you shouldn't forget his post as the chief of europe, not as a military commander, maybe soon the position of the chief diplomats of the will no longer exist because the you is practically no foreign policy of its own. it is in full solidarity with whatever approach the united states imposes. european gas prices have been surging on fears over coming disruptions to supplies from russia. ukraine's gas transit operator has announced that on wednesday it will stop sending one 3rd of the russian gas that has regularly travelled through the country into

europe. that's as europe scrambles to cut energy ties with russia. ukrainian operator has said that gas will no longer be accepted through distribution stations . in regards citing the conflict there, it has offered to transfer all of the volumes to another checkpoint in the russian border town of sir john stead. now, russian sport or gas problem has said that that scenario would just basically be impossible. gas problem has not received any confirmation of the circumstances of the force major clause. we do not see any obstacles for continuing to work in the previous mode. transit has been provided in full, there have been no complaints from the counter parties. the transfer of volumes to suit based on the russian flow scheme is technologically impossible, has gasoline and food prices hit new all time records in the u. s. joe biden has once again shifted the blame on russia in an apparent effort to deflect personal
11:13 pm
responsibility. we saw in march then 60 percent of inflation that month was due to price increases at the pump. for gasoline, prunes war has raised food prices as well. but the prices urges have been happening at least since january 2021 a year before the russian military campaign in ukraine. i made rising costs for crude oil now around $100.00 per barrel. that's partially due to some us refineries having closed during the pandemic with other ones. currently operating on nearly full capacity of the situation was exacerbated when the us band in ports of russian supplies of the commodity. and well, joe biden, in his speech, claimed that he understands a regular american see. his recent actions against russian energy have only pushed prices further upwards ortiz, rachel blevins, explains president by then is now saying that tackling soaring inflation is going to be his top priority. moving forward,
11:14 pm
after it has already been 40 year highs for 5 straight months during his speech at the white house on tuesday. he said he understands why the american people are so frustrated. right now. i understand what it feels like. i come from a family where, when the, when the price of gas for food went up, we felt that it was a discussion of the kitchen table. i went, i want every american know that i'm taking inflation very seriously. and it's my top for domestic priority. inflation has already been on the rise over the last year, hitting 5 percent last june and 7 percent in december. the u. s. federal reserve flooded the market with money and response q. historic lockdown during the pandemic now abide and says that he is concerned about inflation. he is also implemented things and rather against russia, claiming that he knows that they will impact supply chain shortages and that could lead to a global food crisis. as

a result on top of that by and also continues to fuel both inflation and the conflict as he calls on congress to approve an additional $33000000000.00 and funding for ukraine. he signed the executive orders, nobody else. if you look at those signatures, there is, so it's his responsibility. and he thinks that the american people are dumb enough to believe whatever he's feeling them. why aren't you taking care of the people in your own country instead of people in another country, a world apart? i don't get that like i live here and you know, helping me. i don't have too much faith in the car and ministration and i'm losing faith in our government at various. it just becomes too political. we have homeless people on the streets here. so why not help us 1st? absolutely. everyone is struggling with it, especially people my age, the working class. you know, it's impossible to move up and it's really easy to go down. political commentator and radio host. steve gill says biden is focused more on helping ukraine than on
11:16 pm
solving america's domestic problems. you know, decades ago we had a president who had a sign on his desk. the buck stops here. now we have a president biden, apparently says the buck is everywhere, but me, you know, he's blaming for gas prices, even though gas prices started going up a year before there was any conflict in ukraine and those gas increases were because we were shutting off our supply we were shutting off our energy independence and people are seeing the price is all over town at the gas pumps just this week, gas prices united states, despite another 50 cents a gallon, and that has nothing to do with the war and ukraine. it has everything to do with law of supply and demand. we cut off our supply as a demand continues to increase and a and by just trying to buy everybody bought himself for his own energy policies. i have bad news for the american taxpayers. not only are we sending tens of billions in dollars due to fuel this war and to and to push it further ahead. when the bill comes due, i guarantee that the american taxpayer is going to be sent to bill for billions and
11:17 pm
billions of dollars to rebuild ukraine while our cities are disrepair. while our cities have violence and crime on the rise, and while working families can't afford to put food on the table or gasoline in their cars, he's focused on everybody in the world except the united states and people of this country. on tuesday, the baltic state of lithuania decided to reprimand moscow by declaring russia a terrorist state, and describing the military campaign in ukraine as a genocide. meanwhile, in neighboring alexia officials have been having trouble coming to terms with the fact that people still honor the soviet soldiers who liberated that republic from nazi forces in world war 2. now, amid commemorations of the allied victory in europe, this week, forties and rega have used a tractor to remove in abundance of flowers, placed by thousands of residents of the lesbian capital monument. to the liberators authorities actions that spark a backlash with residence,

expressing their anger to the city's mer that are going my dear mayor stack as if you think that by running over our flowers with a tractor, you can humiliate us, you are wrong. you humiliated yourself. you showed your weakness, your fear. residence returned to the memorial with more flowers and candles using them to decorate the area. a police officer said that they saw even st. george ribbons which are banned in the country and arrested a number of people during the event. one man in a civilian clothing was filmed, kicking flowers at the monuments and police, managed to save him from the wrath of the crowd. well, the leader on tuesday authorities closed off the perimeter of the monument, but people still gathered around him singing

a renowned victory de salt washington has apparently revised its position on taiwan political status. as the us state department has edited its website to remove a part about not recognizing the islands independence from china or cheese, kill him up and reports. taiwan is china's sensitive spot when it comes to foreign policy. and you can be sure to get a prompt and strongly worded response when you mention it. move on. the west, his latest modification of the fact sheet is a trick to obscure and right off the one. china principal. history cannot be rewritten. that facts cannot be denied, and right and wrong should not be distorted. he will guy have made. so what exactly did washington do? well, they edited their website and they removed the part about not recognizing the island is being independent of china. here's what it used to say. united states recognized
11:20 pm
the government of the people's republic of china as the sole legal government of china, acknowledging the chinese position that there is but one china and taiwan as part of china. the united states does not support taiwan independence. and here is what it says. now obviously, washington plans to expand their engagement. their taiwan is a key us partner in the endo pacific the united states and taiwan share similar values, deep commercial and economic links, and strong people to people, ties which form the bedrock of our friendship and serve as the impetus for expanding us engagement with taiwan. china seas this as a straight up provocation from the united states. they're hinting at a rather strong response to on such political manipulation of the tie. one question and the attempt to change the status quo across the taiwan strait will hurt the us itself. in this bat seems pretty well timed with the us lead summit taking place in washington later this week. the block of 10 south eastern nations. that
11:21 pm
surprisingly does not include china, is expected to discuss ways to counter beijing's influence in the region. in turn, the u. s. will continue to promote its endo pacific strategy released just 3 months ago, just to show how much chinese people are affected by these plans. a poll recently conducted showed that 89 percent of chinese people view the indo pacific strategy as their regions version of nato. and they see it as a danger with us media and politicians beating the drum against china. american public opinion has been impacted as well. a gallop poll, taken back in february, showed that 79 percent of us adults have a negative opinion of the country. also in april, a pew survey ran to china's unpopularity at 82 percent. so much tension currently going on in the world. the binding ministration seems to just not have caused
11:22 pm
enough raucous. they now want to intensify the conflict with the country that is the largest on earth in terms of population and a major global economic player. it's not clear where the american people really benefit from this strategy of intensifying conflict across the planet. caleb mob been r t new york for more or less cross wire to political analysts to i was under bruno . hello, this is big kind of worms. they're opening up here. the u. s. department recently edited their website to remove a part about not recognizing taiwanese independence. why do you think the us would do that at this point? well, i think they're a combination of factors. we've had the china increasing its influence in the pacific region, particularly with the it's intervention will not turn to diplomatic and commercial intervention in the solomon islands, which is triggered and
11:23 pm
a very odd response. i believe strong response from the united states and australia . the solomon islands don't even have a 1000000 people, but it is in a strategic location right in between the osha and, and china, and was used by the u. s. as a base during world war 2. that i think i'd like to go back to just a few developments that i've noticed with the work in ukraine. and i think there's a shift in washington. i have a more optimistic of some kind of diplomatic solution on the horizon, not now, perhaps with you with the, with russia because apart from the fact, as we've seen in some of the reports that you showed earlier, many americans are very angry about the washington focus on ukraine, rising inflation, we've got the election coming up very shortly. the congress,
11:24 pm
the congressional elections. so if the democrats hope to save anything, they have to retreat from these policies of not following what the people want. so i think there's going to be some effort to reduce the, the, the, the pressure on russia. and i noticed even in, in the president put in a speech dig 3 day yesterday he mentioned and praised american soldiers and their role in world war 2. he didn't mention british soldiers, so it's almost as if the, the focus of that was the impetus for causing the stress and on in western relations with russia is coming from great britain rather than the united states. so i see a release there and renewed attention on china where i think, or perhaps washington hopes to gain from what trump used, which is,
11:25 pm
you know, the chinese are taking our jobs and things of that nature. but i, i think the, there's, there is some kind of, there's something in the air and also what the pope, frances said. nato barking at the doors of russia was not coined. it wasn't by chance. i think he said it now because something is changing and we're seeing a renewed shift on china, which is where you as strategist, we're focused on anyways, we've seen a number of general saying we should really focus on on china rather than russia. well, i was under you and i had a conversation as part of a panel recently about america kind of strengthening in the asian pacific region and the solomon islands. you mentioned that just a bit ago trying to feed us support for taiwan and western military presence in the asian pacific as a threat to its national security. what's your opinion on that?
11:26 pm
well, it certainly is because china wants to make a very important position for itself in its sphere of influence, which is the pacific. it's very much like japan in the 1900 thirty's. except for the fact that china's influence is not so much military, but it's more commercial and diplomatic. so china wants to, to dominate world trade. and it's doing so on land with the belt road initiative, which is continuing to and now with a russia detached from the west, i think it feels like it has a strong barrier on that side. so now it's focusing on the pacific and it doesn't want interference, because after all, it's not, it is building some military bases, or at least there has been talk of that it wants to develop it,
11:27 pm
diplomatic and commercial influence in these regions which considers its, its own backyard, so that is not going to diminish in any way because china is a power on the rise, and we've had forgot the name of the scholar who came up with the theory of so soon as the trap. so says is the greek scholar who discussed the origins of the peloponnesian war between sparta and athens. he said, in a spot that started to feel athens as a threat the moment and started to grow and commercially. and often wars begin for these reasons, except for the fact that in this case that china is not really, although it's boosting it's military spending and capabilities in designing its own weapons, no longer just buying them. i think it's main goals are still commercial and diplomatic. now briefly,
11:28 pm
because we don't really know how to unravel these sorts of statements. china's foreign ministry has said, washington support for taiwan will come back to hurt the us. what does that exactly mean? how has the u. s. stance changed and affected its relations with china? well, the text change is quite, quite quite noteworthy. we have one. busy it clearly states that china, that us will not interfere in china's understanding of what taiwan means to it, which is an integral part to try to tie one is a democracy immediately linking it to itself as a, as a fellow democracy. so making it a clear cuts, i think those 1st sentences really struck me, but we have a change of diplomacy. the, the original text was written at the time when with the influence of such realist
11:29 pm
phone calls of its type diplomat, such as henry kissinger, who was one of the architects of that of the, of us china policy. and the opening. today we have a mishmash of, of diplomats driven by neo liberal, new conservative values, which are want to project us power militarily, everywhere. and the, these same people are the ones driving the war in ukraine, the, the, the intervention against russia and ukraine. so the only way to resolve any to get back to diplomacy is of course to reduce that influence. but that's going to be much tougher than in the, in the russian case. because china is definitely the existential the super power that's on the rise. certainly going to be interesting to watch it all play out. i'll send bruno,
11:30 pm
we know that you'll be here to help us sort all about it and through it, appreciate that. thanks for being with us here in our internet. thank you. like i this has been our international will be back in about 30 minutes with another full and fresh look at you news with us. ah, oh well it shows the wrong one. 0. just don't hold. any world that you have to say proud. disdain becomes the attitude an engagement, it was the trail. when so many find themselves worlds apart, we choose to look for common ground.
