beaten back in the country south after they've tried to launch and offensive they're. that's the latest from russia's defense ministry. moscow says that ukrainians try to advance on 3 friends at once, but have suffered heavy casualties as a result losing more than $500.00 troops along with $26.00 tanks and 2 aircraft. the botched offensive is said to have been order specifically by ukranian president the lensky and in the her son region caps troops shell, the russian control town of nova kafka, according to local officials, hitting residential areas and a hydro electric station authority say that u. s. supplied, high mars artillery were used in the strikes and in another showing by ukraine of a neighboring town, a local school was completely destroyed. according to local officials who have this footage of the damage there. no casualties have been reported. and

now to don bass, where battles continue to rage in the don. yes, republic with russian lead forces intensifying an offensive to take over major ukrainian stronghold or cheesy or start off reports from the front lines. ah, drone footage has become a fundamental part of the when ukraine it helps a just artillery fire. it helps confirm hits. it strips the enemy of morale on the outskirts of the town of solid r. there's no rest for ukrainian and russian. how it says we are basically the epicenter of an artillery duel between the russians and the ukrainians. in fact, the positions of both sides are so close that we cannot only hear has the shells
9:04 pm
hit like that the russian side. but we can hear the ukrainians firing them. so essentially we can follow the whole root of any shell coming from the ukranian side. from the moment it was fired to the point, just like that to the point when it was over our heads and and as it heads somewhere close in the vicinity of the russian artillery positions . bloody gruesome street fights within the town limits have slowed down russia's advance in solid r to a trickle ground. troops are relying on artillery support to clear the way, but keep troops realised that to while on other parts of the front, russia out shells ukraine, roughly $20.00 to $1.00. here the ratio is way more close. ukrainian shows blow up

black smoke at an uncomfortable distance. offices on the ground q our escape, the moment a brief flow comes amid the storm. ah, ah. mm. oh my gosh dawn of reporting from baton dash r t. and out of further worrying news from the upper roget work have continues to increase fear of a nuclear disaster. a radioactive fuel storage building at the plant has been pierced by ukrainian shelling. that's according to local russian backed officials. these pictures released of the aftermath of the shelling show a damage roof at the facility. russian officials have se, se they have warned ukraine multiple times. it's stopped showing the plant, europe's largest, which supplies hundreds of thousands of people with electricity. here has accused
9:06 pm
moscow of using the facility to house its military. we spoke to the russian back mayor of an article that the ukrainian town which is located close to the nuclear power plant. he says, authorities are ready to provide evidence of cabs shelling at the facility to international observers. knowing new issue at the moment, radiation levels are normal with the shilling only pierced the roof of the building . so they wanted to carry out a terrorist act that would lead to the spread of radiation around here and further towards europe. this is being done in order to prevent the international atomic energy agency from entering the plant. although we have a lot of evidence to show the international atomic energy agency in particular, how the ukranian army has sheldon nuclear facility and the nearby city of enter. good are you be slow. all these attacks are documented and all of this will certainly be presented to the international atomic energy agency mission, which is coming here. this is what ukrainian politicians and their military are
9:07 pm
afraid, because they are terrorizing not only russia, but also their own citizens who live here. the international atomic energy agency says it will send a delegation to the power plant this week to inspect the situation. the team includes the head of the global nuclear watchdog, and experts from 13 countries, some of whom may remain at the facility on a permanent basis. however, kiev says it wants the i 8 to come to a single conclusion that moscow is responsible for the damage to the plant. the day has come, the international atomic energy agency support and assistance mission to zap rogia is now on its way. we must protect the safety and security of ukraine's in europe's biggest nuclear facility crowd to lead this mission, which will be at the power plant later this week. we expect a clear statement from the international atomic energy agency mission about the violations of all nuclear safety protocols. we know that russia endangers not only ukraine, but the whole world, exposing it to the risk of
9:08 pm
a nuclear catastrophe. this comes as western media blame russia, despite top us officials being unable to give a clear answer on who is to blame for the damage to the plant. first, who was shelling the station. i'm not able, at this point to make any confirmation about the shelling and where it's coming from. the u. s. department of defense has not ruled out that ukraine's forces are firing near the territory. according to media reports that amid one cited western media coverage of the situation, although russia says it's ready to provide evidence of ukraine's actions. meanwhile, residents of this upper osha region are asking the i aide to stop key of shelling of the plant, which is endangering the safety of millions of human lives. and now let's cross life to see gill, a radio host and political commentator. russia has been sharing proof of ukraine's shelling of the plant for weeks while western media has been silent on the matter.
9:09 pm
does this not suggest that western media are complicit and ukraine's cover up? yeah, i think it's pretty clear that when the u. s. government isn't being definitive about where the shelling is coming from. when the satellites are up there, they are monitoring very closely. exactly what's going on in ukraine. the u. s. government knows the department of defense knows the fact that they're not speaking up and being definitive. i think it's pretty clear also, it's just inconsistent that on one hand, the western media and ukraine is claiming that russian soldiers are housed at this place. there is a military operation of the russians that on the other hand, they are claiming that russia's apparently showing its own soldiers selling it, showing its own facility. not it makes sense unless you buy the arguments that it is the ukrainians who are firing in the attempt to create a rush. and when it comes to nuclear power, shirley politics should be pushed aside and human lives prioritize. why is this not happening? in the case of western media, love b, i. e,
9:10 pm
a should be there immediately. i mean, there should be an all hands on jack's desktop, 5 kind of level of getting people in there determining very quickly exactly who's doing it and making them stop. you know, again if, if it's miss targeted, rush and shelling that needs to stop, but i think it makes a lot more sense that ukrainians are shelling, trying to attack this facility, trying to perhaps drive russian soldiers out of there so that they can retake the facility the a, the international community, the united states government ought to be stepping up and making it clear that they know who's doing it, and they're going to hold them accountable. so up until this point, the u. s. media has been systematically accusing russia of showing the plan. now how come its own state department? the us state department is not so sure. because i think the state department knows the answer and the us media is just repeating what, what they're being told. you know, from the, from the beginning, the u. s. media has really kind of advocated any journalistic integrity, integrity,
9:11 pm
the sounds like, which is why you've seen propaganda from both sides get, get a lot of play and not a lot of journalists on the ground reporting. what's actually going on, and i think that again, the u. s. media has completely abdicated their journalist perception on this. they're not seeking the truth, they're just repeating whatever you know carries on the by did ministration is pushing, which is the we've got to support ukraine. now there are some different voices that are starting to be heard being drowned out by the out of the, the mainstream media in the united states. it's take it aside in this conflict and really isn't on the side of true. cab doesn't appear to like that be a mission is traveling to upper rosure later this week. why do you think they're so scared of this? a wider crux? not what the detectives to show up and do an investigation to find out what happened after they committed a crime or committed a murder. it is clear that ukraine barking at the a and other national investigations going on at this facility. it's clear they want
9:12 pm
to cover up not to have to find out the truth that i think that again, is a big red flag of what's actually going on. the people of the upper ocean region have a mission to influence q. have to stop them from showing the plants. do they actually have this kind of power? i don't think so. i mean, you, ukraine is kind of doing their own thing. we're not sure really. who's directing what they're doing? i don't really think it's president soleski. i think they're puppet strings on him, but maybe being pulled by the by did ministration. that has made a lot of money from this conflict. and i don't think that present lensky is even in control here. so i know the united nations and the i a is not. but again, the united states government is supplying these weapons. they have the satellites, they have the capacity to determine every shot is fired, every aircraft is flying in ukraine. you know exactly what's going on in every foot of that space. and it is too close to this at best,
9:13 pm
deceptive. don't get more likely for the united states government to be di denying that they know what's going on and to fail to step in and stop what to be a human catastrophe of epic proportions. if one of the cells hips the wrong parts of this nuclear facility, steve gill, radio host and political commentator, thank you. thank you. the at least 15 people have reportedly been killed and hundreds injured in unrest in iraq after protesters broken to government offices in baghdad. in support of a leading opposition, she a clerk who has announced his retirement from politics after he was unable to form a government that sparked an outbreak of violence. the 3rd this latest voted shows protesters taken to the streets despite a nationwide curfew. you can hear a long burst of gunfire as law enforcement battles with protesters inside the

government green zone. local resident colleague ali has told us that the situation on the ground is much worse despite the government looking to restore the situation is becoming less re entry. that dad really called me from more stuff to go down most of the areas around the beginning zone. my house is about 7 minutes from the green zone. and each story, when they stop shooting inside the green zone, my house and the window is the prime minister, where he get lower does not to adapt the civilians what it seems when the army, so that the militia and the demonstrators getting guns and they open fire to again,
9:15 pm
they open flyers and a number of them. the countries army has now reportedly taken full control of the government offices by force warning. you may find some of the following images disturbing. many of whom those of us who died such as the man picture, were killed in clashes with local security forces. the iraqi army has now reportedly taken full control of the government offices after using life bullets and tear gas to disperse the crowds. supporters of clerk and looked outside, there were met by security forces as they entered the ceremonial building. but after the arrival of the iraqi army, the clashes moved into the streets. the military is now patrolling the capital while a curfew has been declared throughout the country. o, latest unrest again last month when he got supreme judicial counsel suspended its work after solder supported camped out near its headquarters to demand. at this all
9:16 pm
parliament, his party was unable to form a government despite winning the largest number of state and federal elections held last october. we heard from political analysts site alden with avi, who says the current unrest in by that could lead to civil war. a assume the streets and the zone with international zone. as it know, i still surrounded by security forces and large number of investors are soon and inside the smashing zone. also, number of armed militia also and 2, which are connected to the the, the satirist entered the area of the situation is moving to more, being more critical. it is very possible the civil war. we can actually see at the beginning of an escalation that could very easily lead to
9:17 pm
civil work to fall out of the war, which will be devastating to the oil industry because the civil war will take place . being mainly in the south of iraq where the oil field and the world exports facilities are situated. so we are actually facing real present danger. and we can see no bridge the f b i has owned up to providing private american companies with a vice on so called foreign threats. that's after market locker berg came clean about censoring the hunter bite and laptop scanned on facebook. after a warning from u. s. federal agents about a legit russian propaganda the f b i has provided companies with foreign threat indicators to help them protect their platforms and customers from abuse by foreign malign influence actors the f b. i will continue to work closely with federal, state, local,
9:18 pm
and private sector partners to keep the public informed of potential threats. but the f b i cannot ask or direct companies to take action on information received. we have the f, b i admitting that they flagged companies about possible distant information and the lead up to the 2020 elections. and facebook took this advice from the f b i and started calming through various story, then determining to suppress certain stories. and that, that led them to the conclusion that they were going to suppress the hunter, bide laptop story. this is what mark dr. berg said on the joe rogan podcast. the distribution on facebook was decreased. basically the ranking news feed was a little bit less, so fewer people saw it than would have otherwise. so it definitely by what percentage? i don't know off the top my head, but it's, it's meaningful. now since then, we've had met the parent company of facebook, come forward and clarify that. wow, they did not,
9:19 pm
they were not specifically told to suppress the laptop story. they were simply warned about this information. and that seems to have tempered some of the public outrage. but at this point, there are a lot of questions on people's minds. first people wonder does the f b, i have the right to go to private companies and advise them on what stories should be moved to be removed to their asking? does the f b i statement suggests that it actually regularly does this is this the only time they've been advising facebook and other social media companies about suppressing stories? and the 3rd question is, was this done by the f b i with partisan and intentional purposes? were they trying to help the democratic party? that's a pretty important question. people are asking, give the f b. i metal in the elections with the hope of all thing the democratic party. now senator ron johnson says that he is not alone in raising serious questions about this case. and this revelation, we've seen poles to show that heavy american public known the corruption,
9:20 pm
the biting trailing of hunter by joe biden, will not be present. for the epi ised, plumas is ation there. parson ship and there are suppression of the 100 by the laptop. if that is a definition of police think behavior a government agency independently decides it's going to determine the outcome of a supposedly democratic election. does that look like legitimate use of law enforcement authority? do you, the government openly, coordinating with free speech? suppose it platforms like facebook and like twitter or an aquash particular stories on behalf of one political party. you have f, b i, agents using their position to collude and conspire to change the outcome of an election. now, the poll numbers seem to indicate that this had a big impact on the election. one poll shows that 80 percent of americans believe the trump would have been reelected if there had actually been notable coverage of the 100 biden laptop stories. it also doesn't help that we now have the i whistleblowers who are coming forward and saying that they were told that,
9:21 pm
you know, and members of the us senate were recently told not to dig in to the 100 by the laptop story. that's pretty big information. when you look at the details with the whistle, blowers, et cetera, it's starting to look like what summer calling election interference. these new allegations proved even more evidence of f b i corruption. after the f b, i obtained the hunter bite and laptop these whistleblowers stated that the local f b i leadership told employees, you will not look at that hunter bite and laptop and that the f b i is not going to change the outcome of the election again, the f b, i cannot be trusted with the handling of hunter biden's laptop. now members of the u. s. senate at this point are saying that they would like the opportunity to grill the f b i about what actually happened in a congressional hearing. and facebook is now back tracking up from what was originally said. so at this point, people looking on the questions are getting bigger, but it appears that all is not fair and love and politics. china's influence
9:22 pm
in latin america is growing with ecuador, the latest country to announce it will sign a free trade agreement with beijing. i kudos production, trade and investments minister julio. jose prado announced that the administration of president dmo la sue seeks to achieve a free trade agreement. with china, this year, ecuador, john, soda, y, panama, columbia, and nicaragua, in penning such agreements while 21, latin american countries are also engaged in china's mountain road initiative. since 2002, china's total trade with latin american countries has skyrocketed from 18000000000 to nearly 449000000000 in 2000. and 21 asians gain being as very much been on the west. as long as shown in e u. documents revealed by spanish, daily, and faith. last week let's cross live to gregory wilford freelance journalist and founder of venezuela analysis dot com.
9:23 pm
we've seen a serious shift in latin american politics in the last decade with a recent wave of left wing victories or as many call it a pink tide. we've also seen latin american countries increase cooperation with china. could this be a sign that western ideologies are losing popularity in the region? i'm not sure if it's, i mean, partly if id ologist we can see that just on the basis of the fact that that the governments have been shifting towards the left in latin america. so that's certainly an important factor. but i think almost more important is the fact that china is offering much better conditions in terms of its investment, in terms of the deals it's offering to latin america. and so it's making it a lot more interesting for the countries of latin america to switch towards china instead of the united states. u. s. has had a strain relationship with latin america since colonial times,
9:24 pm
but it's economic and political influence was enormous. what has actually changed? yes, the main thing that has changed, i think is the growing power of china really. and of course, the fact that countries in latin america have, has had social movements that have moved the government towards the left basically with which are more critical of the united states. at the same time as china has become a much more viable trading and investment partner compared to the united states, the united states always imposed all kinds of conditions with the loans would provide to latin america. and the investment deals that it's encouraging are all exclusively with the private sector. whereas and with china, is a direct investment from the government, which is very different because they're at a much better condition and much more,
9:25 pm
much better guaranteed than the relatively weak conditions are for private investment that the u. s. is offering in terms of the you, especially spain and portugal, they appear to be coming ever the more concerned about their deteriorating influence in the region. but how significant was their influence in the 1st place? well, there's of course, a historical relationship between spain and portugal with, with latin america. and so they take out a certain amount of pride in that relationship. and the so the connection to a large extent was, was more historical and of course illogical to some extent. spain and portugal itself, of course, by themselves, we weren't able to invest as much as, let's say, you're being a union as a whole or the united states as a whole. are china as a whole. so in that sense, they weren't ever at that strong. in the 1st place,
9:26 pm
but certainly their influences declined together with the fortunes of the united states, especially during the period in which our spain were governed by conservative governments that have been pushing for a new liberal and conservative governments in latin america. the heads of some states of latin american countries didn't attend washington summit of the americas after the u. s. refuse to bite the government of cuba as well. and we got our what is that a sign of weakening us dominance? it is. ah, it certainly certainly is a sign of weakening dominance because in the past that kind of an action would not have had much of an effect. that is the, the rest of latin america would have gone along with what ever the united states had decided to do with the summit of america, and that is definitely no longer the case. so in the end, the summit of the americas that took place in los angeles this year earlier this year was basically a big failure because lots of governments and latin america decided to boycott
9:27 pm
their participation are refused to participate in that summit. and to the us essentially a sabotaged its own summit, which was the 1st and over a decade in our, in on us soil. and so that was a very embarrassing situation. and it's really quite stunning. how are all these foreign policy experts from in the bible and ministration? did not seem to think that this would happen. yeah, and 5 latin american countries actually didn't vote against russia in the u. n. vo on ukraine. what's your take on that? yes, this is another sign to latin america is not just going to tow the line when it comes to the united states. as i mentioned earlier, the governments of latin america have all been moved towards the left and are much more critical of the united states foreign policy than they were in the past. in
9:28 pm
the past, there are literally in the back pocket of the united states government, and that is definitely no longer the case, especially with what's been what some have been calling the 2nd pink time. now that practically all except for brazil, and we'll see what happens in brazil and october, i'll governments have moved towards the left and had become much more critical of the united states. gregory well part freelance journalist and founder of venezuela analysis dot com. thank you. a pleasure, and that's a rap on this hour's top news stories from around the globe. thanks for tuning in and for more up to the minute news that over to r t dot com. and don't forget to follow us on twitter rumble and odyssey. see you next hour ah, with
9:29 pm
ah hello and welcome to cross top. were all things to consider. don, peter lavelle, the collective west face is economic disaster, high debt, escalating inflation, diminished competitiveness, and a very serious energy crisis. much of this, if not all of this have been self inflicted, but the worst crisis, the west spaces, is the crisis of legitimacy and the failure of neoliberalism. ah. to discuss these issues and more, i'm joined by my guess, george samuel leon budapest. he's a podcast rate, the goggle,
9:30 pm
which can be found on youtube and locals in america. we cross to martin jay, he's an award winning journalist, and commentator, or a gentleman crossed out rules and effect. that means you can jump any time you want and i would appreciate it. right. start out with george in budapest. um. what do you think of my introduction? georgia now in overdue, and m r m m m, i prone to hyperbole. here i'll get that. i stress all the right points that you did. it's a very succinct summary of where we are. i mean, when we think of legitimacy or what, what do we really mean? we mean political ruling elite that can actually deliver what their voters in a democracy, in what you know, what they're populous generally once, which is peace, prosperity, and at a minimum security for food on the table and the protection from the elements. now the leaders of the west of signally failed to provide any of those.
