this again, please be warned. the images are, of course, disturbing. it's the 1st part of the video which emerged than social networks a number of days ago and purports to show a ukrainian soldier shooting a russian serviceman directly in the head. multiple times. such actions are regarded as war crimes in violation of the geneva convention. the un human rights office said it considers the video to be authentic and has expressed its concern to the ukrainian defense ministry. well, this is not the 1st time ukrainian soldiers humping accused of killing russian po w's. some months ago footage appeared on social media showing ukrainian trips, killing all norm russians who had surrendered. also last year, a video emerged showing members of the neo nazi kracken, italian shooting, captured russian soldiers in their legs. the united nations again, has documented several such cases on house call for investigations to take place.

middle russian trips are reportedly currently intensifying their offensive at multiple points on the conflicts. frontline bottles are ongoing in the key than yet . we're public city of our chumps and a rod booklet dar ortiz, eager to sit down. i've sent this report from tom bussey for months. this boss of the front was an estate over dead stalemate. ukraine try to capitalize on last year's counter offensive. and sweep through the la guns republic, but its troops, eventually that broke down. and now russia is trying to turn the tide this is the russian. it's hillary providing cover for the advance. the crown is

a vast and dense natural reserve. here has become the main fighting arena. key of troops are swarming in the woodland. their positions are scattered. every few denise is away from each other. so far, rush has made its gains there. it's a modest yet steady pace of an over the phone to. but when i got the situation on the front line, a stable were advancing toward severs moving forward. little by little from last chance and it's becoming more quiet mood. there is now much less return fire of the enemy's artillery was forced to retreat through suppression fire from the sullied our direction. also, there are plenty of firing positions. it has become easier to work here. we can

stay on firing positions longer and shoot more of what a key of soldiers are forced to abandon their long held trenches. and some simply don't make the escape in time. like this fighter. now in captivity, he revealed that many don't make it out a tool shoot. you're going to people say to the full battalion, good. back to hide of knowledge. 25. out of 60. it's sold to survive. what all were mobilized from hike of we have no local soon trenches. it was only my full day on the position. russia has beefed up its forces on the ground dramatically through the wave of mobilization. and now it seems is starting to reap results. but its troops grew, not just in numbers, but inexperienced 2 of them. it takes us 10 minutes to occupy a position and open fire after recognizance locates an enemy target of if we're already in position, it only takes 3 minutes. rushes offensive may not look impressive on the map yet,

as ukrainian and west and officials unanimously raised the alarm. there's more where that came from. i'm a get done of reporting from the dumbass. ot see the u. s. will not impose sanctions on india for importing russian energy with official, suggesting washington will offer an exemption. now that focuses on cooperation. we're not looking to sanction india. our partnership with india is one of the most consequential relationships. new delhi became the biggest importer of russian crew last year after europe in countries imposed sanctions over the conflict imports from russia then rose again in december, balancing a 1000000 barrels per day for the 1st time. while last month it's hit $1700000.00 barrels. unless a part of the reason for the massive increases because western states are not buying russian oil, but through india without comes the tensions between the u. s. under run are rising,

washington has imposed new sanctions on taylor and targeting companies that are accused of facilitating the sale of iranian petroleum on petrochemical products to asia. the us treasury department said that 6 around base manufacturers are being targeted. 3 firms in malaysia and singapore as well. journalist, stan, political analysts said tara dickie, despite the new sanctions all around the countries. all production is only growing . these are new rounds of sanctions are not new in the way that iran has been on their sanctions, especially for oil exports for a very long time. just about a month ago. and it was announced that iran sol explore to hit a new high despite all the games that are played around the nuclear deal at

a so called nuclear dear to j. c. p. o, a and iran managed to export its oil to other partners that i would stance to us extra. terry terry will sanctions. so even though this is going to make it difficult for iran to explore its oil ad, but it's not a new phenomenon for iran and iran has learned its ways to evade these illegal sanctions that are meant to punish 3rd countries that deal with iran. and also in the case of russia, washington fears, and this is what they have admitted, that if they punish india, india would pivots to china and strengthen. it's like strategic partnerships with china and russia. india does not need the u. s. it's the u. s. that needs india. authorities in nicaragua

have released from jail more than 200 crew plotters. they had tried to overthrow the central american nations government back in 2018 in what was claim to be a u. s. funded operation. it wasn't about negotiate in anything that has to be clear. we're not asking that they leave the sanctions who are in to asking for anything in return. the united states should take their mercenaries. an investigation by the greys own media outlet claimed us government agencies such as us aid helped organize the insurgency by funding right wing groups. hundreds of people were killed in chaotic scenes as armed. gangs attempted to storm the presidential polish with a legit plans to kill the head of state. those deals over the qu, attempt were later labeled political prisoners by the us state department.
3:11 pm
let's speak to independent journalist, ben norton, who himself has made several investigations into us involvement in nicaragua, who attend many thanks for your time today. ben. what was the rule of washington in the 2018 protest primarily was very clear. the united states was the main sponsor of the violent very rightly elements that tried to overthrow nicaragua democratically elected government. i live in nicaragua, i've been here several years. i have spoken to many victims who either lost family members or loved ones or friends in the attempt or people who were themselves attacked. i personally have interviewed a man who is a security guard at the mayor's office in the city of messiah, and he was tortured by these coup waters. and he lost one of his arms. so there are very many victims of this violent attempt to 2018. and we have documents showing that many of the leaders involved in us who attempt to were funded by the u. s.
3:12 pm
government through traditional ca, cut out like the us agency for international development usa id and also the national endowment for democracy. the any, the one of the co founders of the any d o in weinstein told the washington post, that it was created to do basically what the c i had done previously. but to do it out more covert, more overly in the open. and the any d in the u. s. id spent tens of millions of dollars, funding opposition, groups that oppose this on the needs to government and the elected president, daniel ortega, and of course, anyone who knows the more recent history of nicaragua, going back to the 1980s knows that this is not new united states and the 1980 through the ca, armed in train terrorists, the contrast they, they burned down schools and hospitals according to one of their former leaders. they use terrorism as a systematic tactic. they put the ca, help, the contrast put mines in the porch to blow up nicaragua, ports,
3:13 pm
and so for many people in nicaragua, unfortunately, it wasn't surprising to see that the u. s. government returned to those same tactics that it had used in the 1980. and what has the u. s said by the claims of it directly funded the insurgency and 20 thing? well, it's always the same lip service too. well, this is civil society that these are media outlets. the u. s. always says that the state department claims that it is not give funding to political parties or groups, but actually that's a lie. and what it does is the leaders of political groups in countries like nicaragua, but around the world. i mean, this is certainly not unique in nicaragua, and venezuela and cuba in bolivia, in zimbabwe. and many countries where the u. s. once regime change, washington does the same. and what happens is that washington claims that it's supporting civil society organizations and media outlets. but actually those are front groups for political parties. and they're usually led by political opposition
3:14 pm
figures. and it's a very simple situation. i mean, it's a scheme basically, in the case of nicaragua, you have political opposition figures who create a so called n g o. and basically it's them and maybe a few of other people and they don't really do anything. maybe they publish a report every few months. they have social media accounts for they criticize the government and they claim to be a civil society organization. and they get millions of dollars of funding from the u. s. government to do their political operations against the government. and then if a sovereign independent government like nicaragua, takes action against them for taking foreign funds from a foreign power to try to destabilize them than the u. s. claims that government is supposedly authoritarian and the supposedly cracking down on civil society than you live in the country. you've seen it as you've been explaining directly. how would you generally then assess currents as it stands today? u. s. involvement in latin american affairs?
3:15 pm
well, depends on the country in nicaragua, the government is completely sovereign and they have now expelled many of these people who were funded by the u. s. government to try to violently overthrow the government. they've also closed down some of these organizations that were involved in the coup attempt. nicaragua is an example of a country that has been able to defend its sovereignty, but unfortunately, across the region, there are governments that haven't been able to be as sovereign where the same tactics are used. and these organizations that are funded by the u. s. government to try to destabilize the government. we saw something very similar in bolivia, in 2019 with the overthrow of the president. even with allies we saw something attempted in cuba, which didn't succeed. and of course, in venezuela, the crew attempts have been completely non stop going back to 2014, 20172019 with one boy though. so that destabilization attempts never end, but the responses of the government has been different. right. so if
3:16 pm
a government which is sovereign, tries to prevent these, qu plotters funded by the u. s. from overthrown their government. then the u. s. deems them authoritarian, the u. s. imposes sanctions on them. this is the same thing that we've seen in venezuela, cuba, nicaragua, and then other countries that don't take action against the crew plotters well, they often get overthrown, as we saw in 2019, in bolivia or right now in peru where the u. s. is back another qu, against the elected president federal castillo, which was this past december and been just finally going back then to nicaragua. what's, what's your take? just briefly on the reasons behind the release of the conspirators, not the president says there were no negotiations on the matter. i believe. well, the nicaraguan government has shown that the u. s. claims that it's holding so called political prisoner. so nicaragua said, well, if you want these violent crew plotters who are engaged in violent crimes,
3:17 pm
then you can take them. and now the u. s. can't claim that nicaragua supposedly has political prisoners, which it did not have. and this is the same tactic that the u. s always does. it's called moving the goalpost right. the u. s. says that the, that nicaragua has political prisoner, so nicaragua, releases them on the u. s. redefines a whole, another group of people and says they are political prisoners. this is what happened after the 2018 cru attempt. people who were were convicted of violent crimes and drug dealing and other crimes who were involved in the qu, they were imprisoned. and then as part of negotiations, the nicaraguan government passed an amnesty process that allowed some of these violent plotters to be released. and in the u. s. government said that there was another other political prisoner. so this is yet another example. venezuelan government has also done this where the, these governments that are heavily sanctioned illegally by the u. s. they make it an example of a concession, which is potentially a move toward negotiations to try to lift sanctions. and we'll see if
3:18 pm
u. s. actually does, of course, i think president ortega understands that you can't ever really, truly negotiate with the u. s. we saw that with the iran nuclear deal. the u. s. will always violate it side of the agreement. but it is a sign that the nicaraguan government is willing to make some compromises. if the u . s. is willing to lift some of these illegal sanctions that continue to hurt the nicaraguan economy and many, thanks for breaking all that don, frist this are always good to see on the program independent journalist, ben norton life on our team. thanks for having me. washington's and 9 slums to ease sanctions on syria, the mid mounting pressure over aid flow to the earth. quick stricken country being hampered by the restrictions. the us treasury department issued a license authorizing any aid related transactions for the next 180 days. however, it excludes syrian officials who remain on this sanctions lift essentially the government, back in 2012, the american president barack obama nines. the u. s. would formerly recognize this

syrian opposition coalition, so named rather than the official assad leg government, which is in control of most of the countries territory today. with the 1st crunch of aid only, not reaching opposition. held areas of syria of washington sought to blame the delays on the assad government and moscow. reality has been up until now at least that one country primarily has stood in the way of that. the russians have consistently threatened to use their veto when it comes to expanding border crossings. we're going to continue to make the case. countries around the world are going to continue to make the case. and we certainly hope that russia and all those who would stand in the way are hearing and seen be just heartbreaking images of the devastating earthquakes hit the region. on monday i have killed more than 1200 people in government held. there is of syria. the mask is said, western sanctions, particularly those from the u. s. had blocked vital aid from getting through the un

secretary general so stated the sanctions should not interfere with urgently needed relief efforts in the nation. vanessa bailey is an independent journalist based in damascus and spoke to the program earlier. she believes the u. s. shifting blame on to the syrian government and russia combined with in the sanctions relief promises is hypocritical. this comes across as another empty gesture by the united states probably are following in the line of the politicization of humanitarian aid to syria, both before and during and after this particular humanitarian crisis. if people look at a map of syria and the areas that are currently occupied by the u. s. by the u. s. assets and syria, which has been admitted by jake, fall oven to hillary clinton and by ambassador jeff raised to the trump point man on syria. mike pompeo,

that alco heater is an asset for the u. s. in the war against the syrian government and, and allies. if you look at the map of syria and you look at the northern border, it is totally under the control of either the armed groups, affiliated turkey and nato members, state or, or to al qaeda, the u. s. asset and syria. even the b, b, c. and even the new york times has put out reports saying that it's very difficult to get your monitor and supplies into the northwest pocket because of the control of alco, either the russian, a veto over the humanitarian border crossings between turkey and syria. again, this is complete, a poker, c, y, with those or border crossings reduced because what they were being used for, and this has been reported since around 2013. they were being used to expiry terrorists arms, weapons and equipment for the armed groups into syria law

it comes as moscow has said several times, the west, unclear of one to drag the country into the ukrainian conflict several days ago. russian foreign minister, sir gala ralph said that mulder was current president, is following ukraine's footsteps. he added mis sunday wants to join nate, so integrates with romania. meanwhile, us secretary of defense, lloyd austin, how's the nines? millions of dollars approved for georgia. his comments came, as he met with the country's defense minister of the pentagon, seeing the funds will go towards the purchase of weapons. i'm pleased to say that just last month, the department notified congress of $33000000.00 to fund equipment for this purpose . and today, i'm pleased to announce that we've approved georgia for the risk assess payment schedule, so ga will be able to request and acquire vital military capabilities more easily.

well, the pressure from the u. s. sun countries, neighboring rush extends not only to georgia but bulgaria as well. journalist and international observer from the country simeon milan off states. bulgarians do not want to become part of the confrontation between nato, russia most but get else ready, a police or a cultural scale. if not political, but that also on political, many of them are very russian and fewer research from 2020. they show that for example, 58 percent of the boy get people out against our membership natal. but nonetheless, our political lead is unfortunately, doing whatever they here they must do from washington. and you know, sense no opinion of the american ambassador in bulgaria. and i will suppose in

gallery countries, has become more important than the opinion of the bulgarian citizens. so go to the boy, get a nation, doesn't meet conflict with russia, but the get an elite considering the fact that especially the newer political leads the younger ones. they received their education in the united states and canada in the u. k. data bank adults are in the again, the u. s. data. how to sort of data data to studying data. so honestly, i'm not sure that they will take into account the national interests of our country . the italian prime minister has lashed out her french and german counterparts for orchestrating what she calls an inappropriate meeting with lawyers . lensky ga, maloney is regarded as not developing what some of call the close knit relationship with key about her predecessor held. i sent it out

a few in o'clock tonight. it seems to me that the invitation to zalinski was a bit inappropriate because i believe our strength is community and unity. and i understand that there is a desire to satisfy internal public opinion. but there are times when favoring eternal public opinion risks leave the detriment of the cause. not at all. maloney is miffed there because the lensky has been walking around european halls of power . this we dressed as usual, like he's ready for a pajama party at absolutely any time, and maloney sounds up sad that she didn't get an invite. and it's pretty clear why she's not happy about that. just look at what she's missed out on british prime minister. we she soon act put on a helmet alongside zelinski and had the chance to pretend that he was james bond french president a mandarin macklin got to stare into zelinski his eyes as they were photographed, looking like a couple of kids having their 1st slow dance in the school jim polish president andre duda looked like he wanted everyone else to know, just who loves zalinski the most of all,

but that's what the pharmacy has come to these days style over substance. so let's have a listen to mac hall explaining exactly why maloney was left out of this slumber party just with you. i wanted to receive present zalinski together with jerome a chancellor schultz. i think it was all roll because as you know, that france and germany have a special role in this question for 8 years now. pushing this process. yeah, well the quote, special role of france and germany for the past 8 years was actually be guarantors of the men's quick words ensure that he respected them. but now we know that that piece agreement was just a pretext to buy time to arm ukraine to the teeth for on conflict with russia. the 2014 minsk agreement was an attempt to give you a crane time ukraine. yes, this time to become stronger as you can see today, the ukraine of 20142015 is not the ukraine of today. since 2014, ukraine has strengthened its military posture. it is the merit of the minsk

agreements to have given the ukrainian army this opportunity. thus the time the prudent thought was an asset for him, turned out to be in fact, an opportunity for the ukrainians. i needed the minsk agreements to gain at least 4 and a half years to build the ukrainian forces to build the ukrainian economy, to train ukrainian forces alongside nato, to create the best armed forces in eastern europe, according to nato standards. so that is hardly surprising. the ukraine was violating the agreement, left and right. like for example, with the use of drones to strike in east of the, of the country in the dumbass region. for example. now it didn't go unnoticed this week. the hungarian prime minister, victor, or bon, was pretty much the only european leader who didn't patronize lensky by clapping forehand like he was some kind of a child. he managed not to flood his lions in the school play. instead of an actual had to state who is supposed to be appear, a really does seem like
