a mortgage hay, spank y, the attorney general of the us virgin islands says the major bank should be held accountable for the monetary actions of jeffrey epstein. let's get started. ah well, it seems the drama and whether the power continues to spread. even after jeffrey, i've seen a death for years ago. unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean justice or accountability for anyone who is involved does as well. never in modern day have you found a story which involves some of the most powerful people in the world, sex illegal activities and a whole laundry list of international crimes. get very little convictions and the legal system actually happening. despite revelation, after revelation, there is still a huge cloud of mystery regarding the inner workings of the epstein sex trafficking organization and the specific individuals involved the latest to come to light is
12:31 am
the accusation against one of the world's largest banks. j. p. morgan chase bank regarding the actual financing of absence various business ventures. joining us now discuss is a journalist marlyn at injure, who has recently written about the virgin islands attorney general, who aspired for pursuing a litigation against jeffrey epstein. thank you so much for joining me. hey, thanks for having me. yeah. like you said around the new year attorney general of the virgin islands. nice. george was relieved from her duties. is what the statement from the governor said, but the picture seems to be that she was let go because of tensions about this lawsuit that her office had filed against j. p. morgan chase. right before the year ended on december 27. what's the thing that's the latest development of, from everything that's going on to this attorney general to her actually who just secured. i mean, she just secured a $105000000.00 settlement from jeffrey. i've seen the state being dismissed by the
12:32 am
governor, governor over the investigation. you said that you think that it's missile of denise and george by governor our brian junior for days had to find a lawsuit against j. p. morgan? chase, do you not think this could possibly be retaliation or something else involved? does it not? right. and not large enough red flag to cause some sort of investigation. that's what local media has report, you know, right. when the story came out. publications like virgin island daily news and the st. thomas press. they said that there were these reports that there that he had been unhappy with her filing a lawsuit that hadn't kept her updated, that she hadn't kept him updated on the fact that she was filing the case. and then a few days ago the new york times reported something similar. they said that it was not necessarily because that but just vague, you know that he had, hey, she hadn't kept him apprised. and the only thing that she could have kept him apprised of, of course, was this lawsuit. and the other thing that the local press has reported is that he
12:33 am
has been unhappy with how many resources she's been expending on pursuing the epstein enterprise. but she just, she also received a large summit from the previous case. it's not like she wasn't bringing money in to help cover her expenses. so now you were to look at this case that she actually filed, what does the case actually alleged? j. p. morgan chase did in regards to the scene enterprises. the language they use is pretty unequivocal. they say j. p. morgan unknown, sorry, j. v norton knowingly facilitated sustained and concealed the human trafficking that were operated by jeffrey ups in from his home and base in the virgin islands. and the way they said that, jamie morgan chase did. that was not just one way. first, it was allowing him to withdraw so much cash from his accounts and this goes back to 2000 when his relationship with jp morgan chase began. you know, at the peak of his enterprise, he was withdrawing around $200000.00 worth of cash from his j. p. morgan chase
12:34 am
accounts and banks have obligations to make sure their customers aren't engaged in criminal activity. and that's a classic marker of criminal activity with drawing that much money from your account. so that goes back as far as 2000. and the reason he was withdrawn all this money was to pay off his victims. you would pay these women or, and also these girls money after these sexual massages to make it look like it was a, you know, a consensual transaction. and this was just a fig leaf over that. and then in 2006, he's arrested and prosecuted down in florida and sort of a sham prosecution that was covered up and really just a slap and the risk but by 2006 j. p. morgan chase knew that he was engaged in criminal justice. they had to have known before. they could have plausible deniability, though not really because they have all this information with these constant
12:35 am
withdrawals by 2006. it was public knowledge and in 2008, you know, they even make this points in the law. students that bernie made off as ponder scheme, came down and he was using a jp morgan chase account. and so they ordered it an internal review of all their accounts to try to catch any other bad actors. they should have caught epstein as what this last it is around the opposition of. and the only way they couldn't know was through turning a blind eye and actively facilitating its criminal enterprise. i mean, a bank realizes that if you've ever drawn your debit card by charge, 50 cent, you would think they would recognize if there was something that could be to be done to far is that the funds that are being pulled out. but i have to focus on the fact that jeffrey, absence in 3 years since he's his death and several decades. and she was 1st and as you mentioned, why are we just now hearing of j. p. morgan chase? actually a lawsuit being filed against him for this. i mean, does it take the u. s. virgin islands are their attorney general's from various
12:36 am
states who are also involved? who could have done this over the last 20 years? yeah, i mean, that's a good question. i guess the answer is yes, they could of and the lawsuit comes on the heels of another law suit which was filed by private attorneys in the southern district of new york on november 24th. and the reason was filed on november 24th is because new york state recently passed a law that with the statute of limitation on some of these crimes. and let's victims. so for civil litigation for, for justice. so that could be a reason why we have this timing, you know, denise george, who has done a lot of spent a lot of time and resources prosecuting. i've seen only of her file these suits after he died. you know, and she faced those a little bit of pressure before people are asking why aren't you getting him? why aren't you doing this? i can't speculate exactly what she was thinking. i haven't talked with her, but it seems like a lot of people became
12:37 am
a lot more willing to do this after f seem as did die. and so i think the reason she filed the lawsuit now is she may have, you know, she wanted to combine the class action lawsuit. and so in addition to new york, and that's what has happened. i'll the suit in the southern district of new york, and now it's combined with these other cases. so this case isn't gone or that even though any church has been governor point is going to continue to pursue this case or what i have known that particularly. but the assistant attorney general has the current service attorney general. she was on the lawsuit that denise george fire, her name is on it and was filed under the name of the office she was involved and the figure would have been continuous and she'd put already probably put more hours into it with work and understand the case. but you brought something up earlier that kind of has me scratching my head about how a bank does have to make sure that its customers are not doing things with the money that they are legal, things with the money they have. so is there
12:38 am
a legal principle or does a bank have this ethical right to refuse customers or ask these questions regarding where the money is coming from? and should they be held liable for their crimes, their clients are committing. in this case, it looks like they can prove that he, they didn't know this was happening and they still did nothing about it after his 1st conviction. yeah, it's not just an ethical right. of course, banks are subject to numerous regulations. there's a lock, old, know your customer law. they have to know where this money is coming from. there's the trafficking victims protection act which 2006. these lawyers argue they had to have known, they were facilitating a traffic enterprise. so those are 2 laws are there, and in addition, just staley, who is the guy at j. p. morgan chase, who brought up on this these steps the ledge that he was pursuing this relationship with such a interest with epstein because asked him was bringing millions and millions of dollars into the bank. and so that would, you know, it's also against
12:39 am
a lot of traffic to process from a traffic and enterprise. these are some of the laws that they're keeping mortgages being alleged as committed even after epstein was arrested and actually j. p. morgan chase his board according to this last that had a meeting about whether or not to drop. jeffery, i've seen as a client and 2 people going to the saw suit. mary, air. dot's who is now in charge of i believe the private bringing services were going to she, her department handles accounts for the 4 trillion dollars jeep. so her merrier those and just daily argued strong in favor of keeping upstream. not only because of the money that he brought in through keeping his money in their accounts, but because he was bringing clients into j. p. morgan chase for him, glen duban on hybrid capital. and he brought glen dubin and they did a deal with j. p. morgan chase, which are and j. j $1000000.00. j. jeffrey i've seen or before, may know,
12:40 am
maybe they don't got a lot of money from a guy named leslie works. there was always of the brand that owns a tory secret. right. he was a 1000000000 and he kept his money in j. p. morgan jay's account. and they say here, just staley knew if epstein, if they did anything to get rid of epstein masters, a mind would have been gone. epstein money would have been gone, gone doing what would it be done? so they profited judy from me again, you can't process from it. you know, any idea that this lawsuit is going to help us be able to shed some light, bring any more transparency to the find who jeffrey i've seen was in partnership with who we had bank dealing with. whose checks did he deposit? who did he write checks to? is it also going to force them to open the books from his account? yeah, well, in the us for it, and i do, i just, that's part of the reason why. pardon me,
12:41 am
that's not the very johnson. it's the class action suit, they went to that part of the reason why epstein was allowed to do this was because of not just the financial benefits, the crew to them, but other benefits including for sexual service. and they also allege that an unnamed financial executive abused one of the women in this class actions who has one jane doe number one, who represents the class, where they say was a ballet dancer in the united in new york when she met epstein. and that she was sent to that seems friends who were told that they could do anything they wanted with her. and there's an unnamed financial executive in the language there. they don't say who it is or, and by what financial institution was involved with. but you know, some that could come out and and the virgin islands soon. they also mentioned the eastern development commission, which was this part of me not the development mission,
12:42 am
the economic development commission, which was this office and the u. s. virgin islands, which essentially provided tax breaks while to abstain, and the economic development commission gave epstein a tax break for a company called southern trust. in 2014, they got a tax break at 90 percent on their income tax and was 100 percent on excise tax customs tax. the number isn't claire, but it's around $100000000.00 worth of tax breaks. marla marlott, i hate to stop here. there is so much dive into, can you hold on with us and let's, let's take a quick break, but i want to come back and dive into some of those other specifics that you have. is that work for you? sure, thank you so much. we'll be right back because when we come back we're gonna continue to have more with marlin ettinger and the very latest on the continuing dramas running jeffrey epstein. you're not going to want to miss it. ah
12:43 am
huh. i ah, but terribly and not, of course you go, we use and i made a gift salem, but ideally, chaslek knowledge was focal more on the anchor cleaner. so key ikea, i'm of course, of course the thing is even see if i mean from all to you all on when i was children letting connecticut for as well. you can throw this up here, but i think give me a call when you get a proposal. my bill now the key for table, thread watson is indeed a big rush. but as if the books property sent me about anybody, when i got a fire
12:44 am
panel for gold, then i guess i'm a do not go outside until a gina. i don't call my bad english class the currency to deal with the world immanuel good. i'm part of the dickies off a car wash as to what i found in your cheerios. i was on the money show of the capitol children i spoke with lucy shantell assuming in the margaret single credit. the only one main thing is important for knox. ism internationally speaking, that is, that nations that's allowed to do anything, all the mazda races, and then you have the minor nation. so the slave americans,
12:45 am
proc obama and others have had a concept of american exceptionalism. international law exists as long as it serves american interest. if it doesn't, it doesn't exist by turning those russians into this dangerous go. you man, that wants to take over the world. that was caught your strategy. so some of it on your own, i not leashed off to exhibit in tablet loc nato's. it's ours. we move east. the reason us, hey jim, it is so dangerous, is it deny the sovereignty of all the countries? the exceptionalism that american uses and its international war planning is one of the greatest threats to the populations of different nations. if nature, what is founded, shareholders in united states and elsewhere in large obs companies would lose millions and millions or is business and business is good. and that is the reality
12:46 am
of what we're facing, which is fashion. hello, welcome back. i'm going out here and we're going to continue our discussion with marlene endanger a journalist who has recently read about the attorney general and the virgin islands, who was actually fired for pursuing litigation against jeffrey epstein by the islands. governor. thank you so much for sticking with us. you know, do you think it's like when you mentioned specifically before the break, a few other unnamed sources, but do you think it's very likely consider amount of money involved. other banks who should also be named and possibly could be pursued at lawsuits down the road. air. well, geoffrey stands relationship with g. p. morgan chase ended in 2013. it finally became too much for them to continue reputation only. and he then moved
12:47 am
on to deutsche bank, which where the banker, who been at j. p. morgan chase. so the relationship was that it was very close. net and deutsche bank has have you taishan for traffic for being involved in a lot of they, they've been, they've been fined by fear regulators over the years. i'll just say that. and yeah, deutsche bank is one for sure. you know, i have to ask you, you hear all the time of it, you know, account to going out of the united states, go into some of these caribbean countries just because of how their laws are and how flexible they can be. do you think he was kind of not thinking or did he did this a perfect purpose? was he that brazen? did he realize that he owned us politicians in the us banks? enough that he could do this? i mean, the fact that he chose the us virgin islands to set this up for something, somebody who knew he was doing wrong didn't seem like he really thought he'd ever
12:48 am
beheld in conviction of it. yeah, i mean, well i think part of the reason he chose the u. s. virgin islands was a ticket and he chose to spend a lot more time. there was particularly after his convention, 2006. he was, he did become a little more concerned about public scrutiny and being observed with these children and it was remote as islands in the u. s. for child who was remote he. busy one in 96 and another in 2016. and there's even, you know, reporting that he had or not, but i guess it was reported. it was in one of the last against his estate that he had remodeled the island. so it wasn't, you couldn't see it from other islands. i think that's the reason you chose the u. s. virgin islands, aside from it just, you know, being a beautiful place and because the fact you get these huge tax breaks. but it is true that in the u. s. virgin islands, which as you mentioned, it's
12:49 am
a u. s. territory. he had a lot of connections with the local politicians there and maybe because it was such a place, it's easier to, to buy of politicians there. for instance, the wife of the former governor john to john junior. she worked at the office of southern trust which was jeffrey ups. and it was the shell company, essentially that jeff represented jeffrey ups on the island. and it was the company through which a lot of money was coming through the the j. p. morgan chase accounts that these lawsuits a lead. she used to facilitate the trafficking of these women and girls and you know, even the current governor who fired hi denise. george, his name is albert brian junior. he worked at the economic development commission in 2014, which gave ext breaks. he signed off on the tax breaks. you know,
12:50 am
i mean that it gets not hard to put together folks. common sense says that this is obviously, this is all the same family taking care of family, even if the may, in the main patriarch is no longer here. they still want to make sure that things don't come to light. very, very concerning on this side of it and has j. p. morgan, j, j. p. morgan actually issued a statement. what they said about this lawsuit, if anything, they've issued a sort of boiler plate, boil trade denial, they or, or they haven't responded. see, and that's that on the loan right there shows that they think that possibly they had to know with jeffrey i've seen went down that positive. this could be exposed, but they didn't want to address it. and i guess once again, craziness of all of this in fact, in 2009 that this, this class action suit says there was a lot of civil litigation around that time, which sort of led to the criminal arrests of people or jeffrey and maxwell. but, and by the way, the was through it,
12:51 am
the class action was filed by edwards plotting jer, which is one of the lawyers bernoulli edwards wrote a book to relentless pursuit. he's in pursuing epstein for decades. but around 2009 there was a lot of the civil litigation and they service of tina and j. p. morgan chase and they never cooperated in any of the civil litigation. and there was never any follow up to that. there was never any ok there. right. okay, fine. don't cooperate. ok. they kept moving normal in a lawsuit. if someone does not respond, then they take the next steps and it gets even more pressure from them to actually respond to the court. so there's also no follow up either. right, and of course j. b, morgan chase of the monday resources they can play defense as long as they want exactly on that side of it. so here's what this could possibly do. if a bank i j. p mortgage because they are, could be held liable. do you think other companies might, in the future who had not, who possibly could had knowledge of any sex trafficking, could also be held liable? i'm talking about utility companies who might have actually been out there even
12:52 am
fixing electric poles construction firms. like you said, they rearranged the island. they did work on the house, or even the owners of the landing strip were planes were kept it that was going to take his people, individuals going after these, these businesses smaller type corporations that were involved in order to get, continue to shed light, to what all went on on that island you know, i'm not a lawyer, so i don't know the best illegal strategy for that. it seems like they're going after either these individuals, a lot of them high profile or the now these banking institutions, you know, earlier, last year there were a couple lawsuit filed against leon black, who was the manager of a management fund called global huge billionaire. for me, paid epstein tens of millions of dollars, and there's been been, been a couple of these lawsuits filed against him the cases. and you know, he has another enormously influential guy, big campaign contributions to all sorts of politicians. i think he gave millions
12:53 am
just to the recent republican senatorial campaign in 2019, but he's, he's provide, you know, he's done it to both parties throughout the years. a lot that seems to be the strategy. a lot of these lawyers are going after going to be sensitive financial institutions and individuals route with incredible. ok. so look into the future. should there have been are there actual in place laws which would have forced more transparency of enterprises like ab scenes at the time? is it even legally possible to get a lawyer, but sorta crockett system which could catch international sex traffickers and what is the very least making impossible them to do business with large scale mainstream companies? it's not like they were. he was with the community bank use with j. p. morgan chase bank. this is a large bank. why is there not more policing of it? i guess that's a political question. you know, there's not been
12:54 am
a lot of well to enforce finance or regulations and it produces a lot of bad things for people. i think obviously sex traffic enterprises, maybe the worst. you know, particularly of this. it was such as just nesting nature, children involved but yeah, there, i would say, you know, all the agencies are underfunded. there's no political will to prosecute people. epstein of course, got away with it forever because he was politically connected. there were all sorts of weird things going on where he wasn't properly registered in places. he was, like i said he was given this tax break in the virgin islands, despite being a registered sex offender in the virgin islands. they say that makes sense. that's not relevant when you consider an application or maybe it should be relevant when you consider an application for a tax break. wow. well, before i let you go on, as i just gosh, i think it's probably the work that you want to do. same as any of us have been covering this. do you actually believe as another element of this evil has come to
12:55 am
light? do you feel we will ever find out a complete picture of all the dealings and full justice given to the victims? i don't go ever get a full picture or full justice, you know, i will say that right now there's a lot of civil litigation that's been filed. and before epstein and maxwell were arrested, that came after almost a decade. less than a decade of the civil litigation ordered in the florida courts by wars like bradley edwards and you know, even to the federal government because they had given this non prosecution bill. i think those are good steps and can lead to criminal prosecutions. as long as people just stick to stick on the story, you know, after doing maxwell was prosecuted. a lot of people seem to think story was over, and the others, a lot of people that govern probably should prosecute. and you can speculate for a 1000000 hours where they're not well, and i think they want the story to be over moreland. that's the thing they want the
12:56 am
story we ever and i want to thank you so much for continuing your diligence on. i know you'll continue talking about it and we'll give you the floor anytime you can . thank you so much for joining us. journalists marlyn at injure next. you know, i've been covering the case for almost the last 5 years. and sadly, very little more is known today. than the day of his conviction. the fact it is so hard to get answers from our justice system regarding i've seen only makes the argument, there are very powerful force involved who are willing to go to great links to keep their identity secret. lying very critical of united states government and their lack of ambition and finding out the truth and exposing it. i'm even more critical of the international community who has done very little to expose their citizens who might have been involved with epstein outside of prince andrew. hardly ever. is there any mention of other powerful ties to individuals? the same individuals continue as they get their names, but i guarantee there are dozens more who are just waiting out,
12:57 am
waiting at the time, and with every minute their identities staying had become even more secure. saddling, i doubt geoffrey, i've seen was the only one running international sex trafficking ring where the most power for the late in the world. and when good people who are sincerely investigating this kind of evil are dismissed from their job. it only empowers those in the business today to continue their sinful actions, knowing they are less likely to be held. accountable. jeffrey odyssey might be dying terrorizing his victims. but the continued silent circus surrounding his life and death is only to the benefit of those like him. i'm afraid he isn't. it has been your 360 view of the news affecting you. thanks for watching. ah, ah huh.
