the, the ground and so kind of a said situations and feeling here. this was a bribing community, a homeless people. and everybody had their, uh, little area with their tense. and they were bigger tense. they were 10 man 10. some were even bigger than 10 man tense and uh they had heat in the winter. they had enough food. they had all the clothes that they needed. they had all their basic needs met. it saves a taxpayer about a $1000000.00 a year every year. we are here, if they were to house the county or the government was the house. these people that hotels like they normally did, it would have, it would cost the county a $1000000.00 a year. the house, the people have this camp here and this was in these woods. it grew to about a 122 people. that's at the peak. i started it pretty much from the, from the get go. i moved in realizing that i needed to be here to protect the
1:31 am
homeless from the outside and also to manage the to make sure that things were organized. we had no place to put our garbage, you know, a place for a bathroom and you know, just the basic and the people were happy. ellipse. the people that lived here were very happy good. this is public property. it belongs to the public, you know, which should have been accessible to the groups of people. but what was happening here was the media, the press were coming down here and they were showing this, you know, it's, it's so the world basically the, and what was happening is the township didn't like the publicity didn't like the light shown on lakewood. so they did with
1:32 am
a could to close this place down the road. so close down on july, 3rd, 2014 day before 4th of july independence day. they shut this cab down and, and told everybody they had to leave. and uh, that was the last day of uh, just beautiful camp. the, the you are heading down. so the chance richard for the senior champ, most of the people there are seniors over 55. and we'll drop off a few things to the chance me a matter of a couple of years. i've been living in sheds buckboard was constantly getting more
1:33 am
disposed by going to home depot and lowes and tell them what a great carpenter i am. and i always get hired and they kind of be away. this. people don't have money to spend. all, all contracts is cutting the price. so there's no profit in it. and it's tough to get the job right. if things get worse this year, the general definitely got worse because of the economy. but when i was i was in florida and somebody had given me her, her vehicle, and she said, i gotta get it back. i said, how am i gonna need it back? she said, bring it here. i said it cost me a $1000.00 from gasoline to get the last $1000.00 right hander. back the car wasn't the bad luck. i wouldn't have it but, but i never lost my face and a couple of times i question it, but the face of the lower in this guy right here.
1:34 am
i'm just watching report on everything that, that donald trump did for this country. and everybody hates. and the status of the democrats is wrong. it's just wrong. all these aliens coming in millions coming to the country. it shouldn't be here. she gather more, ship them out now of the but that's not gonna happen as long as there's a democrat in the white house commander in chief he doesn't mean always own name. sometimes. it flies right on air force. one choke people help me out in this truck right here is a major example how people you know, can be very generous and helpful. somebody met me, you know, at the dealership and they gave me this truck. it's
1:35 am
a 2022. and it's brand new and they just gave it to me. and so this is this kind of stuff i need to continue to do what i do for the homeless and the 4 of this, this area. yeah, every day is, is busy, especially this time of year. it's the, you know, the holiday christmas season. and i'm, i'm running all day long from the time i wake up to the time i go to bed, which is late. i'm continually doing something you know, busy to picking up donations, to bring out to the poor in the homeless, or i'm working in the camps dispersing up a tense or putting up a tense uh, bringing down heaters or whatever is needed. i how far around around 50 homeless, between uh, ocean and mom with kelly. it's, it's around 50 people. so you victoriously did on the bench outside of the library and then yeah, there was no cushion on this page at all. this was a hard bed and she was there for weeks sleeping on this bench. oh,
1:36 am
it was horrible. so there is no show that you can go through it just now any in this county you're going to the whole community center, which was there for decades in lakewood. and then they made it into a shelter at least at nighttime. so the homeless in the area would come down to the community center and sleep nice. seemed like about on maybe 6 months. they close it down. they close down the shoulder and then they, uh, they tore down the building altogether. the yeah. so we picked up from the, one of the drop off locations. i have about 10 people that have said that it's okay to use their house as a drop off location. so there's centrally located in different areas are around
1:37 am
here. so people from that area can go and drop things off at that house. and i go around and i, once or twice a week, i go around and i pick up at that house, then you know or give to the homeless of their camps. or i do a program twice a week in the town square in lakewood, where i get out to the, the homeless and the poor. they are in lakewood. somebody here with the cost of living right now because of housing with inflation going up. everything is very expensive and there's just a lot of people can't afford the costs of housing and the costs of necessities on top of that food, clothing and whatever. very, very difficult for a lot of people knew also good. god bless you. thank you for everything that you do for the really the great 0. my name is mary, i'm talking,
1:38 am
i'm not the cameras. the great, great. and the don't you know, the cost of living going up this year, inflation and i've seen an increase in people calling me asking me for a place to stay. i need to get tense. i've seen an increase in that. i've seen an increase in people coming out of the town square here to see if they can get something that they need. yeah, it's really wonderful how the broader community is, you know, contributing to this program here. thanks again. oh this uh, hold on. i tried to call you yesterday, i couldn't get ahold of. you guys have no money down really. that's your drawers. oh wow. that's like building to pass. what are we saying? we're having to go to the car dealing with know what the control guy. let me show
1:39 am
you what i have, what i'm about through my housing. ok. i'm fixing these out at the outset. yeah. yeah. see the problem. this will give this and the put you on the list was how was impossible to find the house. so good, good. i'll you bet i'm good night over the summer now still wasn't able to find housing to there's no for rousing in lakewood. well, i know the rate that we're going now. i can't in a few years. i can't imagine what's gonna happen. let me just look at the court records of how many people are going to do is being evicted last year. if you remember, they put out a 1000 vouchers just just for the homeless throughout the state of new jersey. we got 9 of those vouchers here. the problem comes in is that, i mean it's ways for them the rate that the vouchers are and that that's, that's a crime. you don't like as far as the rent is in a vouchers, a way down here. it doesn't matter. so it looks like you're doing a great job,
1:40 am
i'm putting out vouchers, but the people can't get in the houses because the vouchers are on the get there. they this case said of the united states of america, i renamed them the divided states of america like and unfortunately the united states is still segregated races the, the african american population was 12 percent. now instead of going to sort of those ones that were present great or in 20 years later, because as a government funded gentrification, you know, illegal government funded against the politicians that are allowing this in the government agencies that are allowing this and this is a major uh, bill legal, you know, it's, you know, it's a, it's a major problem in america it's, it's, it's at times and um, it's going to get it's going to get worse unless the governor, you know, steps in and put a moratorium on his try raising rent. because this is steve right now, you know, later you're going to start dealing with the,
1:41 am
1:42 am
to continue the war like longer than a for a period of time longer than probably couple of months the, the, the, i really thought that we were going to die and i crawled all the way to the right and then i hid behind the 2 years before i was born. and this is how people continue to stick with the system.
1:43 am
basically we want to make sure that certain regular civilians should be in the hands. those people who aren't safe, that's for sake. nowhere people say there's givers and there's takers this, you know, pretty true. some people are just natural givers and want to give and go the extra mile and you know, want to help and feel good about it. and there are some people that are, you know, take, or is that you would like to, you know, take advantage or whatever. so i think getting a lives a balance, you know, this makes takes all kinds of make the world go around. yeah, it's going to be like me for sure. i think it's gonna rain all night. this is a 100 percent percent all night the winds are going to pick up. it's about 15 miles an hour. now it's going to pick up to about 50 to forward. this is where you really gotta get this thing ready for this new fellow coming down into the camp tonight. i
1:44 am
call from the hospital. he's got to leave the hospital tonight and so he is name is angela. and so we're going to be picking them up in about an hour from the hospital in one of the neighboring towns. angelo or just some of the other stuff. stuff and burger j roy target. yeah. all right. what's the version here? right, thank you. like 0. you know she went to the hospital. you heard right. yeah, i heard a trace hello. yeah, i'd say her, she's on a hip so i haven't. yeah, i haven't seen or heard from her since then. so you the,
1:45 am
1:46 am
like 10 below 0 windshield. so yeah, yeah, angela will definitely need he tonight or he'll just breeze today. i think in some ways the world is getting colder people colder towards each other. in some ways people are more distracted with the all the distractions we have of the age these days. um, but i think as things get worse with our economy and everything,
