americans will be heading to the polls for the november 2024 election. and it's never a good thing when a country is electric, you're just words like dread exhaustion, or probably the worst adjective in different, all to describe their current attitude towards the campaign season. that voters should be excited at the opportunity for either a firms, of course, at countries headed on, or if it's so bad, be excited as a chance to change. i have to think the reason why americans additives are so negative towards the election process right now. might have to do with not only the current options running, but also the results we have already seen. what both the republican and democrat leaders produced not only at home, but also around the world. let's discuss with this week's panel are for any concerns commentator radio host, steve malls berg and a growing nixon, who is a veteran, progressive radio and television talk show host and steve gal, political analyst and radio host. thank you all for joining me. you know,

i want to start off with you malls, word and i'm gonna call them i was versus i'm so lucky to have to stays on on the show today. what do you expect next year to be like politically speaking? i mean, we're one a year away basically this month i'm talking about on the presidential campaign trail. i, you know, i would never argue that we got off the 2020 trail, but yet here we find ourselves about to elect a new project. what are we to expect? well, 1st of all, the word that comes to mind is unprecedented. because donald trump, uh, you know, barring some unforeseen catastrophe, will be the nominee. and it's going to be for him. attending trials trial after trial, possibly being in jail. i mean, we're, we're in for a year that, that we've never seen that. we never thought we could never imagine we'd be in for that's on the republican side. on the democrats side, i'm sorry,

i just don't think joe biden is going to be the nominate. i think when you have people like david axel rod saying, joe, the time is come, and in my opinion, joe is beholder too and run by the rock obama, who made it possible for him to be the president in the 1st place in my opinion. and is calling the shots, in my opinion, it's only a matter of time. and they are gonna orchestrated the way they want to orchestrated whether it's at the convention on the last minute michelle obama comes in. or whether, you know, they give devin newsome and others a chance something's gonna happen. it will not be joe biden. so we, we think we know what's coming up. we see nothing yet, scotty or it's interesting. that's the most for brings up. garland, as it goes, you spend a little bit time talking about the republican mentions trump immediately like that's just where it's going to be and then puts most with emphasis on the democrats 1st to agree with steve mumford said he thought this election year be for the democrats,

and do you think that it is comparison to all the attention that's going on right now on the republican size? well, i certainly think the democrats are the, the incumbent party. so that would be the, the party that, you know, the focus is going to be on there. they come to party and the, the current administration has been, you know, quite frankly disastrous. and they're losing, you know, certainly they're not going to get the conservative vote. if you look at what's happening on their left blanket is rapidly deteriorating, so people are looking at it systemic problems. so we've got the leading opposition senior right now who is being, you know, i would say persecuted by the administration. so, you know, we've, we've got a system in crisis, not just an intellect oral problem going on for 2024. and is this why people right now are dreading this upcoming election here. steve, when you talk about it, you heard with a product is automatically with a truck. do you think it's a dad that them public is they're gonna have truck? no matter what? i think. i mean, keys, the guy, you know, the guy even, why are we wasting our time with all this others? why is it just because we have to it and nobody's watching the debates. when,

when trump's not on them, you have this has all the aroma and feel of ground hog day, and we're going to have a sequel of the last electorate and sequels never do. well, i agree, as long as i, i don't think, uh and steve, i don't think that biden ends up being the nominees. uh, i think, yeah, interesting. democrats call for somebody else. their problem is, how do you pick somebody else we're about to be at the deadline of when you can qualify to get on balance, which means biden's going to get all the votes of delegates his delegates will be there. but at the end of the day, they can just say we're gonna pass those delegates along. i think they're going to be pledged for one or 2 cycles, but then anybody can get it. and you talk about a clown show in chicago later this year, when it's a free for all of who gets to be the pick of the bite and delegates, and the democratic party establishment. nobody's going to like a situation where nobody voted for anybody. but mazda for democrats have had 3 years to get to this point, if you were wanting to get rid of joe biden, why didn't you get rid of them before now? that's a very good question, and i wish i had an easy answer. i don't you know,

just a couple of things. um yeah, the trick that chicago is where the convention is, of course that's of the obama town. it's so michelle's a town, the 1st primary that rearranged everything to make the 1st primary, south carolina. and that's uh michelle obama's adopted hometown the grandmother lived there. the whole thing. so like i, i think, i think the, the, they, they have a strategy, they know what they're doing. and i guess the longer they way, maybe the easier it is to bring her in the, to again, because everything will be in chaos in a won't be able to go through the normal channels. but you know, look, look at it can be by picture joe, by and god bless them. i hope i live to be a as his agent and older. but everybody ages differently just looked at him and picture him a year from now would people have to go and pull the lever or write in their balances? i mean, it's going to be a disaster. 67 percent of the people democrats don't want them. nobody wants some,

he's being told, like i said, actual right i, i, a disciple of obama says joe, get out. so it's only a matter of time what they're doing and why they're doing it this way. i don't, i don't have the answer to that, but it will happen. but it is the democrats taking a page from the republicans. chaos has worked well for the public. it's just like a trump right now. every single chaotic situation. he comes out rising in the post, could k off at the dnc to the democrats, pull out a win because all of the attention, it's sex, we're out of the room. all the attention would be on them. well, i don't think so because the chaos around trump is kind of a chaos of personality, but it's the kind of k off of a chaos of personality that you'll find that a, a w, w, a f match, you know, where people are like, i'm going to punch you brother, watch the way the i don't think right that they get it open. mean rush, the kind of chaos here is one. you know, it's like a tragic car accident when people don't want to. it's so bad that people don't want to look at the bodies strewn around them and the democrats retro, because they can't, they can't get rid of by now. because that would mean they would actually have to

have debates. and they were such a contentious arguments within the party. over foundational principles. the democratic party can't stand to have a debate and let's face it, they can't put joe biden in a debate. this guy is not in a psychological position to debate anyway. he made debate an empty chair like clint eastwood, but i think you'd lose that one. okay, that's an interesting, i was like many on this panel would disagree with you on that. but it was staples were started this off. gail by saying that this was an unprecedented. how do you feel like this election here is different from previous years? i mean, america has been around for a little bit. we've have some history of k, all the collections. i think every time we have another election cycle, it seems like it's unprecedented. and for the most important election in your life time and this one i think actually actually is i think there has been a conspiracy all along. and i'm not always a conspiracy theorist, but i think this has been a setup to pick michelle for a long, long time. and if they make it late in the game, where they pick,

or there's not enough time to pick a part who she is, what she stands for, what she said is kinda like playing a sports team. if you're playing a really good team, you just want to be close at the end and hope something happens where they don't have time to really, to really spread the field. i think this has been the plan for a long time, but what happens when they dump kamala, what happens when newsome and others don't even get their shot at it? again, it's going to have the deal of a fact room politics that we decry. and i don't think that that's going to make anybody feel good, but mazda purse, the you look at michelle obama, she is a, from liberty to the democratic party. like they actually, they, i think they loved her more than the over at this stage, too. yeah. so why, why don't you bring her on on stage right now? why wouldn't you continue to build that celebrity when you're competing with trumps rallies and by the way, have decreased the selection cycle and then from the past, why would you not? she would be the only one i think, from the democratic party, who could draw out a crowd that could compete with a trump, probably because then she has to talk about the middle a. she has to talk about all the problems we have. she has to talk about economics

. i don't think she's strong enough to do that. i mean, she could read a prompt or, and she, she's not an idiot. obviously, she's intelligent. she can thought you know what to take her way through, but good through the debates. and through everything else i, i just think like does like go to this be said the last minute i picture her just you know, zooming in swapping in uh in the last minute big. the main goal here is to just look you say, what got, what do they do with tom? ah, well, its brock above i get my opinion and but over the years, more and more people, i think i've come around to what i'm thinking, you know, brock obama gave an interview right after joe biden. want to compare and compare said what would the 3rd term look like to to i'd like to use or you can have a board would have looked like you said any such a narcissist. you said i picture myself sitting in a basement somewhere. and the guy in the oval office said that your piece, well, that's not literally what's happened, but this whole lot bomb is all verified is people are obama's. a bomb is calling

the shots that everybody drop out of the race, in my opinion, to give it to by the head, by the pit. com a lot. so he'll promise campbell, a supreme court nominees, number nation still problem is this one that uh, gavin user could be in the cabinet. i believe me, it will go smoothly for them because it's all going to be worked out by obama. but most importantly, you have to get it by the american people. are the american people going to accept one? then they say they don't know a lot about trump's policies, but they do, they would definitely know more than they would know about a new candidate that would enter the scene at the and see what the american people accepted. well, i think it's clear by now the democratic leadership could care less about what their own constituents think. so they're not overly concerned about what you know, the american people in the voters think they, they come up with a narrative and they run with it. but i don't think there's any possibility that michelle obama will be the nominee for this reason. the democratic party now was run by a group of very strict idealogues veneer neil liberals. they don't know for sure

that she's one of them. they don't know that she will go 100 percent by the company line. what happens if they bring her in? and she says, hm, you know, i don't think this particular area here, we should go along with it. they're not going to take that chance. they will be at one of their people who has been vetted and they know will say yes sir. and that's the only possibility for they could crash. okay, hold on girl. and because that sounds like a great place to take a break, because i know we want to find out who garland actually expects to be the democrat nominate when we return the

they love the brock obama. true though, the crone and i think it's going to be uh, gavin newsom fits the hair for one fitness. the hairs but no, i think he's, he's a guy who looks good in a suit and does what he's told and they're telegraphing their move. they send this guy to talk to gigi and paying and invite geez, and think to san francisco. and he happens to be the former governor of san francisco. he's really tight being, excuse me, st. former mayor of san francisco. really tight with the, the tech, you know, people which is the san francisco area i, they know they're competing factions, but i think they see him as a kind of a neutral guy. i also think because he doesn't have a history and foreign policy that can't be used against him. i think they see they've had such debacles in foreign policy that they prefer to have someone who wasn't a, who doesn't have a foreign policy history. and so i think newsome's the guy, i don't disagree, i think new some is definitely on the schedule, but malls were just interested in the girl, i'm gonna bring that up at gavin isn't, does not have a foreign policy history that actually works the advantage. but does it do

americans right now? care more about international issues and the stakes that america has or domestic issues here at home. oh, i think without a doubt of the aside from, you know, of people who have a ukrainian every crating and background. certainly they, they follow over every day, what goes on there. and of course, what's going on in the middle east effects on a whole lot of people use a non jews in this country right now. but overall, when push comes to shove, and the over whelming majority of americans getting that voting booth, it's uh, it's about the economy that i'm a good say stupid to you, but you know what? i mean? it's an economy stupid. that famously is the phrase and it's all about how am i doing, how's my family doing, what's my future look like? and i tell you what if, if they want to bring up devin, knew some of the democrats, please do. because california is a disaster, just i was gonna say something is

a disaster area. economically, people are leaving, look at the cities, look at san francisco, look at the felt and that's traits and that, that homeless and everything that's going on, people like the hell out of that space. so if they wanna run gavin newsome and say, i'm the guy for your bright future. go ahead, hair or no hair. go ahead. well, we can talk about the heresy, but actually we're gonna go and actually look at a lot of issues. because what we saw in the past is there's been after 20162020. there's been this conversation about election interference or there's been ideas that people will vote or fraud. it always seems like the loser in the past. if they don't, when they find some reason to describe it, do you think we're going to see that in the 2024 election, or is there enough safeguards being put to say nope, on election night or the next day when we find out the winter people are going to have faith and trust on both sides, that that is the legitimate winner. i think that ship is sales. i think we're going to get back to people trusting the results until we have some elections where we feel like the results are trustworthy. uh, by the way,

my biggest concern about trump and there are many concerns about trump, is it politicians may take the wrong lesson from the fact that is steve mentioned. every time you get some diet, every time he's in court, his poll numbers go up. i'm afraid politicians are going out and started locking off liquor stores, i think, and that's gonna help their political advantage. and that would be the wrong message. i think the other thing is, when you look at the prospect of newsome, i can already see the bumper stickers newsome question mark. don't california case america? yeah, the bottom line, he's just wide open because it is a disaster in california and his lack of foreign policy to time that there are so many foreign policy challenges to this country. i think leaves a gaping hole in terms of the next round of leadership that we have. well, malls work, i've got to put this back on you because you start off by talking about trump is being the only chance that republicans have you just automatically assumed he's got the nomination. and yet we still have all of these trials and everybody's talking about them. yes, he's getting pumps. at the same time, you're seeing, it's distracting him from the campaign. tr, i mean he said he's holding

a raleigh here and there, but nowhere to the extent that he did in 2016 and toby's shutting down a little bit and 2020. what role does not only this trial, all the trials do for trump, but also the bite and family? are people even paying attention to what's going on with her bite and, and with every court data showing this bump in the polls for trump is the same thing going to happen for bided as well. you know, the congress, uh, just announce that they're gonna sabina biden's brother and hunter buy it. and so it might get a little more interesting. but the people will only care. uh, if the media, you know, gives a darn, and the media has elected a, not surprisingly, not to care about anything, all they would say is there's no evidence. there's no evidence. and meanwhile, everything is evidence. it's. is it valid evidence? is it, would it stand up in a court of law evidence? i mean, you know, is there anything that they hold up is evidence? what is it called the evidence? so my point is that the people don't know anything about the button, bright primed family or anything like that. no on. but you know, truck is going to get, there might be

a trial or 2 thrown in there within. so i live tv and it will be wall to wall. that's all anybody will say, but i think would push comes to shove, it people are good, understand that what they're trying to do to trump is criminalized, is free speech criminalize what he, what he thought criminalize, what his lawyers told them criminalized unprecedented things that if that stands in this country, we are doomed. so again, i don't think it's going to hurt them. i think he could win from jail. i really do . and uh, as long as the issues are addressed, republicans, is that now another i know it's another topic. republicans last uh uh on the road the most recent election day because they run away from issues like abortion when they couldn't win on those issues if they gave it a chance to explain to the people what is really going on. oh, we're going to hit that, but before we do, i do have to go to you on garland because we were talking about he did mention what was going on with bite and with trump going forward on this,

do you think the media is going to be as well, hi, are you seeing the rest solidified behind bite? and as we saw in the past election, or do you think the media is also starting to say, maybe we need somebody else? well, i think the media is going to follow what their, their masters behind them tell. i don't think they're like an independent source that are going to, going to do, you know what they, what they think is right. and so i think they'll, they'll, they'll follow suit as they're told, if they're told disk avenues and they'll run along with that. the think about trump the and, and, and let me say that i've heard this in the black community. he has a body of work, ultimately, everyone in america listen to the same radio station. i love. i've always heard this a w i fm. what's in it for me? and i've heard people say these types of mumblings, well, you know, when trump was in fill in the blank, gas wasn't an expensive, i could buy a pack of chicken buys for half the part, you know, want to know when and or, and ultimately there are people who maybe don't like trump, do like trunk could care less about trump, but ultimately they're looking at it, what's in it for me? and they're saying when trump was it, regardless of what happens now when trump was in,

i felt like things are better. and i want to go back to those times, even if it's a guy i don't like, trump has 22 percent of the black vote. and some of these states, the democrats, you don't have to go to a new exam to find a democrat, if truck, if any republican can get 22 percent of the vote law firm. did you really ever think you would hear that there are 22 percent and you mentioned the single issues we're going to i want to get to steve as well or do. but when you're talking about single issues right there, he just mentioned that there are more probably in the black community in america right now that are supporting the republican candidate, know, supporting trumpets, let's make sure that we disagree makes it. there's 2 separate things. is it going to come down and you say that they don't need to run away from those single issues? is this why demographics that normally have been with the democrats are coming out of the republican party because of single issues? yeah, i think i well yes, i mean drive, i could only look at the numbers. uh and see that i think trump got 9 percent or 8 percent of the black vote in 2020 against joe biden. and now he's up in the

twenty's. that's going to be very, very bad for the 1st boy to whoever the democratic is. if those numbers hold and the hispanic community life and community hispanics, they're, you know, big baby. trump got a good percentage of them in 2020. and i think those numbers have increased as well because you know, there's a lot going on in this country. parents are affected by it with their kids in school, a social issues and different things. again, the republicans don't get out there and express it well, but parents feel it. and uh, i think it's, uh, it's good to play big in india b traditionally democratic communities. you know, i could talk about their breast cancer and he will do a whole. so i imagine on how the abortion issue is affecting the motor turn out engagement. but just a small step. it of it is a portion going to be the number one issue that is going to make people either send them to the polls or make them at home. and how important is it for politicians and republican party and to discuss right now? i think it's how you define it. you know, right now the democrats are to finding that the abortion issue against republicans

as they want the band. all abortions from the moment of conception or from the moment you even think about having sex. that is not what these 15 weeks, procedures with exceptions for rape incest, and life of the mother do, which is the, the procedures that are going into place. and most of the state republicans have to find that better and then make the democrats defend as a team. jeffries recently acknowledge these for abortion on demand to the very last minute make. the democrats defend chilling a baby 3 minutes before it's born. 95 percent of americans think late term abortion is important. we got to wait on that battle fraud and re to find where the battle is being fought. do you think we're seeing a change in demographics, where they stay or not some of the social issues? the black is always and very strong about traditional, about keeping the family together about trying their best. they abortion a lot and they've been paralyzed. do you think that the, the tides are also turning as well as with the political movement that can be causing some of them to cross the aisle? well, i would argue that in the black community, you know, the abortion issue was never going to work well for the republicans,

but there are certain cultural issues that well, however, there is a traditionally kind of a religious, conservative. it's conservatism in a black community, a social conservatism. so the whole walk issue isn't, doesn't really work well for the democrats. it works well for more, the white liberals, but the more conservative religious black part of the community is not big on that . but again, if you look at history, i would recommend that everyone looked at those doors looked at a book called the keys to the white house by alan rickman. and what they, what, what, what research is shown is that regardless of what's going on, whether it's world war 2 or a presidential assassination, the same factors are taking into account by the voters, then they went all way back to 1864. and when it comes down to it, it's gonna come down to economics. it's going to come down to what's in it for me and my family. and right now the democrats are going to get wiped out on that issue unless something changes. well, i think it also shows that both parties with it, it for me, both parties have a nice basket to give to their voters. we'll just see which one actually gets to
