we didn't get donald trump takes a met, bought him years, a landscape demanding compensation for all the american taxpayer money spent on the ukraine conflict. but the f as report at least stalling the todds, even as washington's proposed terms keep getting tougher. the just after 9 am here at bon scale, russia and you're watching the weekly on our to international. i'm your host donald quarter. welcome to pro l mosse. has accused israel, a violating, the goal is to cease fire and their prisoner swap deal that's as benjamin netanyahu order. it's to postpone the release of over $600.00 palestinian prisoners even after him, off handed over 6 hostages, as agreed on saturday. here's how the is rarely prime minister's office justified the moon. in light of her mazda is repeated violations, including the ceremonies that humiliate our hostages and the cynical exploitation

of our hostages for propaganda purposes. it has been decided to delay the release of terrorist that was planned for yesterday until the release of the next hostages has been assured and without the humiliating ceremonies. israel claims the hostages released on saturday, were acting under duress when they were filmed, looking over joy and thanking their former captors during an on stage ceremony and gaza. earlier in the week of august paraded the coffins of 4 people, including 2 babies were killed while being held hostage before the remains were returned to israel. saturday, scheduled release of over 600 jail palestinians was stopped at the last moment after they had already forwarded buses to lead. here's how boss has responded to that. we believe that again, these are the 2 games from the right wing government to sabotage and undermine the deal, and to send a message of willingness to go back to war. subsidized prisoners change between age

related life has taken an unexpected and very dangerous turn onto the agreement. as you know is how the student prisoners were supposed to be released as soon as is really hostages crossed into israel from jobs. i went out in ramallah where as from my home, those probably seen in prisoners were expected to arrive. many have been here since early morning send in in the rain. ben hale then no anxiously waiting to embrace the loved ones. most of them have taken shelter from the cold inside this community center behind me. still hoping for news all there is a strong and brave enough to wait outside this latest exchange has really already on folding. on the extreme, tensional says they receive the remains of hostages, who does not survive the 1st large faces to cease fire began the moment towards devastated and quickly took an even bar codes for and among the remains were 2 young children. tragic victims of the of silver 7 attacks and after forensic analysis as well concluded they were murdered with fair has contradicted,

have masses claimed the they were kills and is really, is a thing to the times when he was also supposed to return the body of the mother, but instead israel received the remains of a new guys and woman. the reaction was swift prime minister. benjamin netanyahu accused him off of violating the agreement on the war and the it would pay the highest price. the entire bill was suddenly, rates from us quickly corrective the mistake was hurting the proper body. well, we have firm and its commitments to the bill. meanwhile, thousands of is really is to to this race was made for gathering reading, tel aviv calling on the government to stick to its commitments and release palestinian prisoners. they fear that ada disruption might endanger the release of the hostages still held in captivity in gaza. the risk then, not ready for all lies, were on re add this week as the saudi capital hosted historic talks between top

diplomats from russia and the west. it was the 1st such sit down in years as the trump administration seeks a deal to reset relations and, and the ukraine. conflict for good rest is foreign minister hale, the negotiations that lasted more than 4 hours a good deal. at the beginning of our conversation, marco rubio particularly emphasized the fundamental importance of each country being guided by its national interest in international relations. we fully agreed with this with these national interest of course will not always coincide too, but when they do not coincide, it is very important to regulate these discrepancies not to let them slide, and especially not to provoke a military or any other kind of confrontation. so much so the conversation was very useful and we not only listened but also heard each other. no. and i have reason to believe that the american side has begun to better understand our position because of a very long day here in saudi arabia. the talks last, it's $44.00 and
1:06 am
a half hours, and quite a lot came out of them. russia and the united states were able to make a very important 1st step toward so normalizing their relations. they've agreed to create mechanisms to normalize the work of their diplomatic commissions regarding the conflict in ukraine. they agreed to put together high level teams on each side, which will work together to look for diplomatic, sustainable solution which would be suitable to all sides. and there also, i think it's a very important points that they're even now starting to look beyond the conflict in ukraine because they're saying that they want to lay the foundation for future dream projects in investment and economy. in all these projects which may emerge after the compet in ukraine is done judging by what preferred today from representatives of both sides. it was
1:07 am
a serious and optimistic conversation which do you talk for 4 and a half hours? the one? yes. why not? and there was a very serious conversation on all the issues we wanted to touch upon is positive, be constructive. everybody, they are the to get to the right outcome solution based we, we discussed it afterwards. we couldn't have imagined a better result after this after the session. it was very, very solid. i just want to stress that it's just about a week ago. it was so far to imagine something like this from happening. but then the phone conversation between president vladimir put and then donald trump took place and now already were here in saudi arabia. we're looking at moscow in washington talking and most importantly, listening to each other like 4 minutes to elaborate said, from side ministration approach to not only the conflict in ukraine, but i guess to the relationship with russia is quite different from the previous
1:08 am
administration. i think it also, it goes with the rest of the board in foreign ministers, words about listening to each other. you're set the real estate mark. rubio said that this is about dialogue. this isn't about monologue. and he also said that any diplomatic success is possible only with concessions made by all sides. i think diplomacy ultimately is based on the actions based on commitments that are kept. so i think they came away today convinced that they are willing to begin to engage in a serious process to determine how and how quickly and through what mechanism can in and be brought to this war. whether we can ultimately reach that outcome. well, obviously depend on every site in this conflicts. willingness to, to agree to certain things. so i think it's important to have this meeting because we haven't really had much engagement with the russians for almost 3 years. and it's, that's the table for future conversations. how that turns out will be up to the
1:09 am
parties and their willingness not just to make commitments but to live by them. uh, that will be tested and weeks to come to moscow finally was able to deliver its concerns and to the general stands on any theoretic deployments of amy for peacekeeping contingents in ukraine. see a month, the topic over the potential deployment of some kind of armed forces for peacekeeping contingency, allegedly, after the conflict has already been resolved or an agreement has been reached, is of interest to the americans, depending on which countries are prepared to provide them. the question is being addressed to the members of the european union. we explained during our talks today that we have noted very well, the president trump and several of his speeches was the 1st western leader to say clearly that pulling ukraine into nato was one of the main reasons for what is happening. that this is one of the biggest mistakes of joe biden and his administration, and that of trump for president at that time. he would not have allowed it to happen. in this regard, we explained to our colleagues today, the president, putin has repeatedly emphasized that the expansion of nato,
1:10 am
the absorption of ukraine by the north atlantic alliance is a direct threat to the interest of the russian federation, a direct threat to our sovereignty. we have explained today that the appearance of armed forces from the same nato countries, but under a foreign flag, under the flag of the european union or under national flags, does not change anything in this regard. this is, of course, unacceptable to us. russia is talking about protecting its national interests. it's a security and i think it's very important that this opportunity gave moscow the ability to deliver these concerns. and again, makes this message for washington to be heard regarding the conflict in ukraine. it's pretty clear that both russia and the united states are on the same page, that it can become a frozen concept. it has to be a permanent end to the war. there are some the, some underlying principles. this needs to be a permanent, into the war. and not a temporary and as we've seen in the past,
1:11 am
we know just the practical reality is that there is going to be some discussion of territory. and there is going to be a discussion of security guarantees. those are just yet fundamental basics uh that will, that will undergird and underlie any type of discussion. some very important words there, and frankly, not many people expected to any sort of diplomatic breakthroughs or for the concept in ukraine to, to and here on this day in saudi arabia. but it's the 1st steps which are very important. i think it's very, it's, it's vital for the 2 countries to begin that way forward towards normalizing relations and towards the end of the concert in ukraine and towards a future where the 2 could work together. my colleague, mike
1:12 am
a call chase spoke with ben swan, an american investigative journalist and the founder of truth and media. he says, the european union is now racked with fear about the thawing between moscow in washington, but also about where it will be left once the war. and one of the things that makes this entire dialogue so important between the western russia is that they didn't talk only about ukraine, which is interesting because for the past 3 years, we've seen that the united states doesn't talk to russia at all. but when we talk about russia, it's a completely singular, we're only talking about one issue, the war and ukraine. and so one of the things that we see in this discussion that was very important was an entire discussion about gaz problem and about energy. the fact that the united states is talking about working with russia and getting investment in the gas problem and working on energy projects with russia is not just stunning. the reporter said there a minute ago, a week ago, a lot of people wouldn't believe that this conversation would be happening now. a year ago,
1:13 am
a lot of people thought might have thought this conversation would never happen again. the idea that the us is talking about energy ideas with russia at a time when europe badly needs both russian energy and american energy and the united states is trying to really build out its energy profile. i think it's a pretty remarkable moment. so that's a very important moment. again, this discussion going far beyond just ukraine, but also talking about bigger issues about russia in the united states. the united states saying they want to see americans being able to invest in russia and russian companies able to act in the united states. again, this is something that a year ago, 2 years ago, wasn't even discussed. why does it leave? could it could have find itself totally sideline here when it comes to discussing real issues from the economy to politics, to diplomacy and other things. well, so far the answer to that is, yes. i remember the president trump said something very interesting when he 1st had his conversation phone call with president putin and he came back and he said the after they had had their discussion, he says our team will inform president zalinski of our conversation informing is
1:14 am
very different than having a discussion with him as well. so i think he of has been sidelined at this point. one of the things that, that the drum administration and the russian government seem to be in agreement upon is the fact that there need to be elections held in ukraine so that the people of ukraine can select their leaders. as we all know, it's been over a year since i bought them. here's the link. these term has expired. even though there is, there are rules, obviously in ukraine where they say, well, he's able to stay in this position. he doesn't have to be moved out. but clearly president clinton and president trump are in agreement that he should not be president right now. and there needs to be election. so that is not just sideline to having this discussion is completely sidelined zelinski himself and left him out of this discussion. what do the talks mean for other regions such as the middle east, africa, or a, or even the asia pacific? the reason this was significant for, for folks at agent or in africa or in latin america, is because the of russia, in a matter of weeks after trump becomes president,
1:15 am
can normalize relations with the united states. it throws the doors opened, disabled. what else is possible? i think that there's a huge concern for europe that if the united states and russian normalize relations and they kind of move on without them as what seems to be happening in this conversation. it leaves europe in a very tough position. why is that? because what does europe actually bring to the table? they don't bring a whole lot to the, to the world table, other than siding with the united states. western europe does whatever the united states wants them to do. that's kind of been their role since of world war 2. the problem is that when, when the united states has lots of work with russia and let's normalize relations and let's expand the drilling and oil exploration and dominate for you and markets working together. well, the europeans have no role in that other than to purchase whatever oil in energy comes from russia, or comes from the united states or columns, but in the middle east, but they are left out of this discussion so. so what does europe actually bring to the table? and again,
1:16 am
they have had outside influence based upon what the united states has allowed them to have. what does france or germany, or spain or italy really bring to the table in these discussions? and the answer is not much, yes, they sent some weapons to ukraine. they sent some money to ukraine. but the reality is, is that nato, as, as a strategic alliance, as we are so often told that it is, is completely dependent upon the united states, paying the freight for every body. and so it's essentially one country, the united states that carries forward its own plans. and then western europe runs behind it saying, well we're, we're all a coalition. we all agree in the same thing. but the truth is, they're not bringing anything to the table other than a voice, which is why the relationship between the united states and russia may be unnerving in western europe because russia brings a lots of the table. china brings a lot of the table in the a brings a lot of the table western europe really does a couple of the us president turn the tables on the embattled ukrainian leader this week has donald trump called vladimir zalinski,
1:17 am
a dictator without elections and the white house wants compensation for all the money spent on the military conflict that was provoked by the, by the administration, but zaleski is reported leave refusing to sign a pay back deal even as the proposed terms. keep getting worse for him. trumpet said, he's literally sick of the ones he's bickering of the night. estates is given $350000000000.00 because we had a stupid in top, but it's president and administration. so we're asking for rarer than oil any the we didn't get a big watching him negotiate with no card says no cards add, you get sick of it, you just get sick of it and i've had it. and he then made a deal with us for rivers and things man who knows what river is worth, you know, but at least it's something and who knows what else who is, who knows?
1:18 am
they even have it. but we made a deal with the river. it's and secretary of treasury, a very good guy actually went there and they couldn't even come close to get a good deal done. and frankly, i wish he didn't go there waste all of his time like that. but they couldn't get close. they met. right. and then when he wanted to get as close as he was unable to meet them again. but uh so, so just on wasted trip in dangerous trip to i didn't like it that he was doing it because you know, he's a good man. i didn't want him to be put himself under danger because i had a feeling something like that would happen. but at any rate, it seems like washington is late to the party with london getting there 1st. the british government apparently managed to secure exclusive rights, few cranes resources just days before donald trump took office. are these murray and our culture of us has been delving deeper into that story and it's clear that
1:19 am
the u. k. has become very passionate about that ukrainian causal of a sudden, especially the last couple of months, even as a piece deal seems within range, the is the term and for you. crew to keep going by using lies, brain washing swats, and even tiers of support from the european union. here's a small reminder. you know that the united kingdom continues to be your full most partner. we continue to work alongside you. we continue to support you to the max and as you fight to surrender as well for anything to work, okay, it has to have your pins in ukraine is part of it because the premiums and europeans are the ones to meet. so same cement the here in europe. so without this, the any d wouldn't just work very grateful to all of those european politicians that spoke out and read from the values and principles said they are defending. no one did
1:20 am
this better than presidency. senate savanski the last couple weeks of being in tears. and all this was proceeded by another strange moments felt weird landmark agreements between london and kids, talking about unbreakable bonds, felons in a vandal soft promises v as in frame, you mean use the tiny because there was a visit to the british prime minister, the signing of the 100 year partnership agreement. this is a fundamentally new format of relations. the closest relations are now between ukraine and britain. there is also a secure secret part of the agreement. everything that really adds to our resilience and the opportunity to develop this has more energy cooperation as the agreement states right here. it also some of the u. k, as a preferred partner for ukraine's energy sector critical minerals strategy and green steel production. and there's more now look at the sports support,
1:21 am
any developments over ukrainian critical mental roll strategy, and necessary regulatory structures required to support the maximize ation of benefits from ukraine's natural resources. well, isn't that nice and potentially lucrative whether you take after all, ukraine has one of the largest mineral deposits of any do a p and country, which would explain the southern friendliness and partnership. maybe perhaps why that landmark agreements was signed before tom had a chance to get there literally 4 days before his and all duration. and now i think it was once in, or else we're going to rain very valuable, rarer and we was, well, we put up to go in terms of the guarantee we want to guarantee one. we're handing a money hand over fist. we're giving them equipment. so we're looking to do a deal with the brain where they're going to secure what we're giving them with
1:22 am
their errors and other things. here's the thing. we don't get our money back and we tell them that the deal is we do something similar, right? more or less us treasury secretary school and best ones, even travel to crate it with an earlier valentine's day presence in the form of a proposal. but it was in very well received. here's how it all went down in scott, this is actually when you were sleeping and unavailable for me to be traveling many hours on the train, which is today. we're talking about the secretariat. he wants to get a document signed. and when he came back and they were just, i respect the united states and that's why i said this document is not ready. and i
1:23 am
said there's no word on security guarantees. we agreed that there could be something done about it, but no one knows anything. and if it isn't clear, i said, let's write the percentages. i am defending ukraine. i can't sell our state. you will write some guarantees, and we will write some interest in the memorandum i, i was only told 50. i said, okay, no, i'm just a decision maker and i'm not working on the details of this document. well, that's the thing is a broad scope there for us. and now is that landscape is in a bit of a pickle he has from calling him a dictator. without elections has ruined his country and perhaps sold it off after all. but so those who are all unable to provide any security guard sees, even if they tried spots. they have compliments in the boatloads. the prime minister expressed his support for president zelinski as ukraine's democratically elected leader,
1:24 am
and said that it was perfectly reasonable to suspend the elections during war time as the u. k. did during world war 2. and boris on a said the man who just had to button and make sure the conflict kept going through the years ago. what a deal was on the table. when do we, europeans going to stop being scandalized about donald trump and stopped helping him to end this war. that's as the car in for it. as prime minister is even willing to send his own troops unprepared. consider committing purchased forces on the ground along side of those. if there is a lost in peace agreement, but the must be a us back stop. because i us security guards, it is the only way to effectively, to, to russia from attack can you create a good. but as you can see, even here, the minutes that us involvement is necessary, which won't happen if they don't get their minerals. so now the question remains,
1:25 am
are the minerals there for the taking or have they already been sold? so, ukraine's new bus friends, which could become lensky, is final mistake. despite vladimir zalinski is hostility towards the minerals deal . the us treasury chief insist the agreement will benefit ukraine. scott best and also stated it was the lensky himself who proposed an american stake and the resources months before the okay. deal was even psyched to discuss the latest developments with former us trade official. steve deal, that was the lead. steve was desperate. he was willing to sell to anybody who would, would keep the arms keeps you munitions going keep toward going, because once it ends his time in his bad, are you ready and very abruptly as well as i think that was a desperation cell and, and again, won't necessarily withstand the test of time i get to my present drop is already made it clear that the site is completely committed to going forward with nato,
1:26 am
providing that defense supposedly not often has just been being played out lately, but not necessarily funding data going forward. when the us is, you know, funding over half and you've got these countries that are failing to even do the 2 percent, much less the 5 percent of their gdc that he's asking us to, us says okay, fine. right? and you want those where as middle, where you're going to come up with the money to keep this child's life going in a way that doesn't end up with russia taking all if you can. well, we know that there's at least 2 dates that have been invited to the problem. there may be more, he's promised everybody. everything is valid may be time to deliver that it's, it's really that it's got because that is now saying today that there is a deal. and while i hope it is, you're moving in that direction. i want to see the get the devil in the details because you know, the executive summary sounds pretty good. but when you get into the actual details, it may not be what we think it is. and again, you still got to deal with the, the d, all of it. so let's keep up with united kingdom as well. our news coming your way
