workers, administrators. this has been a really tough year in terms of finances. as everybody knows, we had to figure out how we were going to reduce the budgets. there were repeating the layoff notices, and slips, things like that. throughout all of that, i really wanted to thank everybody because of the most important thing is for our students to become successful. without the hard work, that would not have happened. since the bell rang, once the school year started, we have accomplished 176 days of learning. we reduced the school year by four days. collectively, we have given more than a half million grades this year out in the classrooms.

taken probably hundreds of field trips, conducted more than 45,000 and germ assessments had written thousands of essays on how to upgrade all of those different papers. a lot of work. above all, we really want to give a special congratulations to all of the graduating seniors. we hope they go out and conquer the world. that has been a lot of work for all of them, and one of ours is busy getting ready for graduation who is on our board as well. but all those people that worked so hard, later tonight, your going to a knowledge of scholarship winners of different organizations. it is a great time to celebrate as they go off to colleges, careers, universities. they will go out and hopefully do some incredible things. to make our community even

better. this year, there was somewhat of a salary note. this last week, the governor made a revision and it looks maybe a little bit better. the problem that we all face, how can anybody predicts what a budget is when we have not passed anything? the governor just needs a few votes to pass something that we can hopefully rescind or layoffs as quickly as they occur. basically, it really sucks, to be honest with you. and if anybody on this board or anybody take any pleasure in putting our staff in this type of predicament. it is not something that we have much control over. if the budget passes that the governor is now proposing, we will be able to rescind a lot of

the layoffs. not all of them, but a great deal of them. i want to thank the fact that our community has held rallies the last week, letting people know. and letting the legislature no that basically we are not going to put up with it anymore because this is a disgrace for all of us and for our children. this is the way we are finding them? when are we saying about our future. i know everybody thinks that this is an easy problem to solve and this board tonight or any night would have the power to solve it, but we really don't until the legislators actually pass a budget to tell us what is we are going to work on. we're the only company and the world that has to operate without knowing what the budget is the following year. that is not a good way to do

business. buttonhole the employees go out and have a great summer. you have put in a lot of time and energy. i hope you can reacquaint yourself with your families, significant others, in this half a lot of fun, be safe, and we will see everybody here next year. >> thank you, superintendent. next is recognition and resolution of commendations. our first is the distinguished service award. >> are really bright note as we get a chance to celebrate successes, the unsung heroes that do wonderful things and we just don't have an opportunity to recognize them. this evening, we want to recognize someone from woodside learning center. we have margaret -- how you pronounce your last name?
