2:31 pm
. people have very limited opportunities and people who are trying to get into their offices who are put out by individuals, you know who are currently living on the streets. i want there's all kinds of solutions to solve those conflicts between the competing interests trying to find ways to create more community space and more green space and areas for people to congratulate.
2:32 pm
the tenderloin doesn't have a whole lot of open space but i think people would like to have more and especially people who live there >> thank you. i think you pretty much answered my question. where were you in the last few years >> i was in niagara and per are you. >> next applicant steven. >> thank you for having me here today. i'm steven tense i'm a native

tenderloin prehistoric commission. it's like having the stores implement and buying healthy food prices. we don't have a supermarket in the tenderloin and we lose a lot of money that's jarntdz outside the tenderloin and i think it's very, very important the money stay in the tenderloin. i'm sorry i'm a little bit nervious. i have a passion and dedication and that's one thing if you ask people who i work with i never ever miss a meeting and whether that's good or bad that's a

positive attribute i have i care about the city >> any questions. >> sure. steven thank you so much for applying. you do incredible work to help the tenderloin neighborhood.chi.
2:36 pm
i like to get people involved. a lot of times people who move in are scared or just don't know what life it like in the tenderloin so it's important not to give guided tours but to put a human face and have them work with people. and i don't mean getting a broom
2:37 pm
and sweep the streets. but to get people to help transport people to and from the hospital. since we don't have a supermarket a lot of people take transportation to get to safe way but a lot of people are forced to go outside our neighborhood because of the prices if we could pardon up with a taxi service. whether or not that would be implemented it would be extremely important >> and for those of you who are not familiar with that
2:38 pm
organization it's latino and boys and girls club. you'll see them out after school additional adults at different corners
2:39 pm

2:41 pm

2:43 pm
situations. i worked at the media lab and got my ph.d. years ago. i think i would as a community member i have some familiarity with the companies we're going to be working with.
2:44 pm
. i also have a, you know, you know - i've been a client and consumer of non-profit sources here in the neighborhood and i also started a notary republic profit myself with other people. the san francisco drug you yourself union i think that supervisor kim might be familiar with that you came to one of our debates. and right now i've move forward on to working another union that
2:45 pm
is more regional working with people in seattle. so i also have a twitter account i use a lot. i i guess that's basically, it. >> okay. thank you. any questions? >> seeing none, thank you very much. >> okay. >> next applicant is - >> good afternoon. everyone thank you for your time. i lived in the baldwin hotel for the last 21 years. and in that time one of the early things i got involved with was the entry group of the pretty well money that come down
2:46 pm
to the community applied for in 83, 94 and i was on the redevelopment pack and i was chair of that for fourteen years. and as far as attendance i've not missed a single meeting. i'm on the town medical community board. so i've been active in one way or another from the beginning. and i'd like to see the development issues. seeing is common concerns and bringing things together because it's all south of marketing and mid market. the people who run those large companies and probably never worked in an s r l so they're to
2:47 pm
need some kind of exposure. and so if anyone else has any questions? >> if you could quickly go over some of your priorities what they would be. >> to keep the community plugged into the extent possible to what's golden. we've heard about job opportunities i could put all the works jobs at least in my buildings a newspaper out. and in the companies making all this mesh together. it's like decisions i've made in
2:48 pm
the vacuum without realizing their impact. >> thank you. >> thank you. any further questions >> next applicant is adam leasing - not here. >> next applicant is joe - not here. >> on the united is peter and he withdrew. okay. so that ends the applicants pool. so is this any public comment on this item. speakers will have two minutes please indicate your support and comments. i have 3 speaker cards right
2:49 pm
now. are you speaking on behalf of someone else >> no, i didn't realize i've got to go so. >> you're good. so allen and kevin stall. >> hi i'm from district 6 i've worked with peter and i think he would be an excellent candidate he's whip smart. and steven tense who is up for seats 8 and 11 he'll be suburb for both those seats
2:50 pm
>> i'm kevin i'm here in support of mr. tense. he has a lot of compassion and passion important the neighborhood especially for kids. not too many people are involved with the safe packaging but he's compassionate and i'm passionate about kids, too. he's lived in the tenderloin for will 11 years now. living in the tenderloin he definitely get a lot of experience living here because you experience the good and the bad here. while there's a lot of bad things in the neighborhood i believe that steven has the talent and this to make a good
2:51 pm
impact on the citizen advisory committee >> i wanted to hand those in. >> can i have the overhead. >> my name is michael i wanted to point out that there seems to be a lot of problems with the previous program and people were eventually - that's why we have a lot of vacancy. i figure why we might as well advertise. i'm michael i'm the today, i'm speaking as the program director for the tense coalition.
2:52 pm
itself tennis accreditation represents the seniors coalition folks. and we have buildings in the intend lion area. we strongly recommended the individuals to be appointed peter for seat 2 and seat 3 steven seat 57 brad paul and seat 7 julian dash and seat 9 jeff and seat 10 or leveling jerold banks and we're speaking on behalf of these as being stakeholders they'll come to the community and done a large number even if things. i appreciate all the folks who
2:53 pm
have applied but some of them don't come to the hearing to be appointed because if they're not here for this meeting how will they make the meetings. any other public comments >> seeing none, public comments are now closed. you know what i'd like to do is this impacts supervisor kim's district and i'd like to hear our thoughts. there have so many qualified people that have come to us today >> i would like to make some recommendations to the rules committee and i don't envy you
2:54 pm
guys for it's amazing how much people want to serve our city and want to be engaged. i am lucky i represent an amazing district. i want to make the following recommendations for seat 2 peter and for seat 3 steve. steve has been at his job thirty years and they really impact the south of marketing and our city citywide. and, of course, peter used it be a bit an organizer. for seat 5 i'd like to recommended brad you paul who
2:55 pm
has a wide variety of land use policies. he also worked at the mayors offices and works with developers so he knows how to make policy. for seat 7 i'm recommending julian dash. he works to correct with the neighborhood. when he was at the trail head i saw use come out of his
2:56 pm
seat 9 jeff. i saw gail was here i assume she was here to speak on your behalf >> i'm sorry did i get that wrong . they've both been incredibly
2:57 pm
involved around public safety and are pretty well known in the community. so i know you're looking for another place to be activity. i like that steven lives in the tenderloin and annette lives in the market area. consider jackson our office is going to work with you. i wish i'd known of your application. but those are my recommendations and i would suggest we take the motion for the policy waiver >> supervisor breed and a thank you supervisor kim for providing guidance in this effort. i didn't know mr. banks by mr.
2:58 pm
bank he says he's known by gerald banks on this list. i know how active you are but also i support her leadership in this decision because she's mostly making the decisions for the districts she's representative. i like to look at the the colleagues but i am impressed by the applicants. by what they had to say about the work they're doing in the community. also i can speak to annette personally and i remember how commented you were and how active you were and you were
2:59 pm
actively impaneled and showed a lot of leadership. so i'm happy you're going to be continuing your service in another capacity. with that i'd like to a first of all, move the residents waiver requirement for brad paul and move the recommendation of the various seats by supervisor >> first of all, do we have to move the waiver. >> could you please adopt a residents waiver for mr. brad paul. >> this is a motion for that. and a second. move forward. i think we have a motion to approve the nomination for seating two peter. for seat 3 steven and seat 8
3:00 pm
julian and seat 8 stein and 11 steven tennis and to the citizens of the advisory committee for the tenderloin to the full board as well. any omission. so move forward >> thank you very much. congratulations >> thank you for coming and good luck. >> congratulations
