supports the proposals. taking off the resident hat and speaking for myself in having been a participant in many of the meetings and with regard to some of the stronger language and so on that's from the evidence the opportunities for that. as also and there's a community activity there are differences. it's a political process. and i certainly felt f it was very important to gather the maximum support possible for that. so for example, lining like the land marking there's some concern imposing land marking would drop the support so what's the balance for the community. and as such we came out with a strong document this does indeed

i'm here i'm the representative to the g h s program and it's an acronym for the japan religious organization. i want to thank director ram for this process to point. it's been a long process to the overwhelming japan neighborhood plan started in 2007 and well, we had some problems under with the goals of that program. and director ram allowed us to revisit this process. i want to thank the gentleman who retired he put us on the right track. it was a very unique program. i've been involved in those

types of issues i've nevereen a stakeholder it's really good to be a stakeholder. i want to thank the planning department and shelly and; is that right? my personal history is japan town i was born in my house by a mid wife and my whole life i've lived in san francisco. except for 6 years i was taken away and incarcerated first of all, on top of as then my family was moved to department of the justice camp in the city and we were honored to be one of the last ones to be released in 1947

my father was an activist and he observed the geneva congestion and the department wanted to deport him. japan town is very important i have spent my whole life there. and next the city government took a miss step but i hope this b will correct everything for the future that we want preserved in japan town and this certainly is the right step. so thank you. i hope you endorse this.

san francisco japan town is the oldest japan town in the united states and only 3 left in the country. it's a very important community with its unique history it's so important we the city and county of san francisco needs to protect the cultural and economic health of japan town. for over a decade the japan community has crafted this resolution with the assistance of san francisco planning department departments and the mayor's office of economic and workforce he development. all have worked hard to make sure we keep a significant japan town in san francisco. keeping in mind the historic of the japanese-american it's important we work and protect this by endorsing this resolution. supervisor breed is in full

community protection. i wrote historic texts for the historic walk about both of them. i know their owners those owners are working at the thereby pass what their own bodies and with the japan town organizing committee to landmark their building eventually but they need time and space and respect. and what angers me about the suggestion it was made by one of our organizing committee members who had copies of the resolution well in advance of his e-mail. he did not choose to talk to the organizations or to circulate his ideas among it's fellow organizing committee members. this is destructive and counter
