in terms of tourism and i saw virtually no greatest, trash, no one sleeping in doorways or on the streets my entire visit to new orleans. we went to all parts of the city including seeing some of the devastation from katrina. there was only one panhandler that asked for money. there was a huge convention of the ophthalmologists so obviously there were a lot of people from out of town. a couple of things expressive parks were closed on all the parks. they have a lot of streetcars in addition to the famous charles streetcar they've got a lot of

streetcars on canal street and the historic streetcars as what we have in san francisco they're extremely well run and very successful and it's something we should look like as an extension to the areas of the city because people enjoy riding them. it's not just to get someplace but the manner. their popular and the other thing that's there are that's successful is the spur doom and the baseball arena next to it. it was refreshing to come out of 0 baseball game 60 thousand were on foot. there's a little bit of parking to the north but most people come to new orleans and a attend the games in that manner. it's unfortunate we 0 won't have an arena but not for the next

you on item 12 for the board of appeals and the historic preservation commission. >> good afternoon here to review the supervision reports there were a couple of things passed. the first was supervisor avalos that would create medical cannery dispensary and the second was the supervisor avalos companion ordinance which requires the commission to bring a report on the cd regulations in san francisco. but only as that permanence to planning and land use. it's been amended our previous deadline for your commission was by january and the new deadline is may.

at this point stiff buildings we'll be able to bring the draft report in january. there were a number of new ordinances i want to share. the first would amend the alcohol use district and this would allow a certain type of bucolic 0 license for a winegrower. the second ordinance, of course, the first one was introduced by supervisor cowen and the second was was a new acholic beverage riefk district. the third is proposed charter amendment that was introduced by supervisor avalos, mar kim and yee. it's the entity amendment that would make comfortably entity a core goal of the agency.

also there was a hearing request about the status you have infrastructure oversight. we've been involved in this and it's part of commissioner weiner's project. and lastly supervisor kim introduced the controls that will governor the areas around south market. she introduced the previous version and this new version seeks to do the same thing but the intent is to give long-term tenants an opportunity to learn about rental proposals so they have an opportunity to appeal. all the ordinances the last item is going straight to the board of supervisors land use
