after cities that are trying to do more to provide student housing. in boston, for example, over 10 years, they implore institutions of higher education to meet the needs. for higher education, craig's list is the devolved. a lot of family rental housing -- it will provide some stimulus for the development of new housing.

1:17 am
outdoor space, and they really have to be made up front. i will say that in conjunction, it is the instrument co and development in -- it will be instrumental in developing. only 51% of families that want child care have access to it right now. and taking advantage of opportunities that exist, we want to make changes to buildings. i have worked with the director of the mayor's office of housing. he is interested in seeing for the purpose of residential units, that we draw a distinction between the development.
1:18 am
examples would be the project on church and the commons. the city college and ocean avenue. they are all examples of developments the require us to look at these studies for child care. and smaller scale homeowner projects. i have a copy that indicates -- i would like to offern a an

1:22 am
exceeded 1 million pages of printed material, the paper. in a way that i believe we can be more cost-effective, more efficient, and stick to our laurels. it provides an option so that it is not always the reflects that we are giving some much paper out but we will provide an alternative so that we can be a little bit more mindful of the resources we waste. why didn't we do this before? we are doing it, and your support would be appreciated. president chiu: can we take this item same house, same call? >it's passed. >> item 42, publication requirements. supervisor mirkarimi: i'd like
1:23 am
to stand for this one. the inspiration of me putting this ordinance before us is because i think anyone of us in our own offices has to fill the frustrations of the citizenry that feel they don't have the access to information that anyone of our city departments or commissions. let's take recreation and parks. i can tell you that there are a number of people throughout the city that would like to get more information or at least have the pathway to more information may be easier said it is not such a hunt to try to understand what is the decision making process for the departments, they can be able to interface, and what are the mechanisms to help influence the decision making process? it is somewhat of a puzzle. it should not make it more pit
1:24 am
-- difficult for the citizenry. that is what our democratic principles are all about. it is time that we look at our assets a little bit more efficiently. we have a web site, sfgov. it is time to help share some real estate on that website by putting notifications of of department actions so that it is that much more vivid and clear for people so that they have the kind of electronic road map and know what to do. it doesn't make sense that we just rely on the newspaper noticing. something to you can pull up for us?
1:25 am
this is the standard that was part of san francisco's strategy for the last 40 years. it is done in three ways. the that before you is the real fault and the real size, or it will be beside -- behind the clerk's office. you ask yourselves why anyone of us have to feel what i think is important, that people need access to information. it is a simple tweak. we break down the barriers. newspaper notifications are necessary, and we obligate ourselves to make sure that we increase the assets of where we notified. we may get that much easier for
1:26 am
the public to get in touch with us. in the 69 commissions, task forces, or advisory groups that most people don't know exist. that is what this ordinance is about. president chiu: same house, same call? this is passed on the first reading. >> to list the officials of economic interests -- a list of employees. president chiu: this ordinance is passed on the first reading. >> item 44 is a resolution of the lawsuit filed on january 28 in 7 it is superior court. president chiu: same house, same

1:29 am
sexual assault cases, officers must collect evidence not only at the crime scene, but also for a health-care provider. in new york city, cleveland, and los angeles, they have committed to a policy of testing every sample. this legislation also makes it city policy to fully fund these critical programs. i would like to thank the assistant chief for their assistance with this critical legislation, and i like to abolish the hard work of the people in our own department. president chiu: this ordinance is passed on the first reading. >> item 51, authorizing the police department to retroactively to accept and
