roll call. >> [roll call vote] six ayes. >> item b is the superintendent's report. >> i will keep my remarks brief. i wanted to point out a couple of different things. next week is the week of the administrators. congratulations. on that note, the public needs to be aware that it just passed in september of 2010 and requires 07 through 12 grades students to receive a booster

immunization before leaving school. it is referred to -- you are going to have to have those shots or you will not be admitted. it is a new requirement. we want to make sure the public is informed on this. we hope our associate superintendent can return with more information on this. >> i am joined by one of our school district nurses that works at washington high school. as the superintendent said, all students in 7-12 grades require a booster immunization before

august. without proof of the vaccine, they can't attend school until it is matched. we discussed and collaborate on efforts to make sure that students have proof of the vaccine before the first day of school. it has gone out in three languages, public notices posted on the district website. fires are available at educational placement centers. this does involve students in grades 7 through 12. in addition, we work very

closely with the san francisco department of public health. we will be cosponsoring at least three free vaccine clinics on saturday. the first clinic will be saturday march 19 from 11:00 to 4:00. we would like students to show up. if they cannot be accompanied by their parent, there is a consent form you can receive and to bring along with you. trilingual letters are currently being prepared. i put out fires in all three languages, it is focused through the district website. the second vaccine clinical be held on may 14. we will have another one at a

later date that is not scheduled right now. they are working on the best approaches to collect and document the proof. they are working closely with the administrators to facilitate successful compliance with a lot. and also to the state's web site. that is www.shotsforschools. org. there is plenty of information out there. the first clinic is saturday, march 19. >> that is helpful information. later on this evening, the public might find interesting that we will review some of the key priorities that the board and the district will be working on. most people are sometimes

unaware of the things in the district, it will be a nice update for everyone to hear. >> we wanted to make sure the families realize that this law has the potential to save lives. 10 california babies have already died this year alone. for those people that have primary-care pediatrician, all records stay in one place. >> i have a question. is this a shot that requires a series of shots? >> most children have had this year is already. they just need a booster shot. >> for entering kindergartners,

we do have some of those circumstances. is it a series of three shots? >> 3 or 4 depending on when they got it. it is kind of complicated. most children are usually up to date. this is really intended as a booster shot for children going from seventh through twelfth grade. >> imc is a resolution for commendations. >> this is always the highlight of the meeting because we get a chance to recognize a lot of unsung heroes out in the district. this evening, i would like to call on the first presenter,
