know the process to the letter and in fact i would be a neophyte to it. i would actually hope -- i would take on the responsibility for learning that and respecting the knowledge of the task force that already exists to draw on their experience going forward. >> a great deal of what you do, we could call you a reporter. that is my concern. if there is a seat that represents journalists, i'm wondering in the grand scheme of things of that is a more appropriate fit for you than this seat. >> i had a career change. i am no longer self-employed. i work downtown in the marketing department.

i have been with them for about a year. i have been a regular for more than 10 years. let me highlight three main reasons in support of my appointment to this committee. first, i think i would note your attention to my professional experience. i spend about six years on wall street, 1st with merrill lynch, then i worked directly for the new york city comptroller's office where my role was to help coordinate many of the tasks and the city to issue bonds and notes. i've also worked as a financing professional for private companies, also for startups.

i've negotiated contracts and settlement agreements and save companies millions of dollars. i want to continue to serve the public. for the past couple of years, i have been on the board directors for the child welfare league of america and i have been share of the audit committee. we have had a clean audits in spite of challenging financial times. this is a very important organization to the country and i continue to serve actively. we have three meetings per year and monthly meetings on the phone. since moving to the area, i am a regular volunteer for the bay area outreach program. they are over in the east bay. they provide various sports and fitness programs for disabled folks. lastly, as an individual i hate to waste money and i hate to

good afternoon, supervisors. thank you for this opportunity to speak. i am a candidate for the bond oversight committee. my wife sarah and i live in supervisor elsbernd's district. in accordance with the qualifications for seat 3, i have served on the board directors for the farmer's market and as a member of leadership san francisco. i am also a volunteer with the jewish -- and others and i was a

>> thank you for your service. >> good afternoon, supervisors. i just came off of one year serving on the citizens committee and previously served on the working group set up by the mayor's office. i have worked on issues related to community development and environmental justice. these are challenging economic times and it is important. the block grants program is a critical strategy to level the playing field. john people are coming of age where the city cannot guarantee a place to live or a decent place to work.

many are increasingly isolated. over the last year, as a member of the community, i am proud of efforts to deepen the dialogue with community-based organizations. representatives are often asked to come to public hearings where they have two minutes to participate. over the last year, we of work together with the mayor's office of housing to organize an two- lot dialogue. i believe that people are taking from community-based planning. what is the change look like?

one is around sustainability. the creation of entry jobs position has to coincide with available housing. -- it is helping them to overcome barriers to economic empowerment. san francisco is working to create a work force that one of us in the economy. this cannot happen if the very people we are training today will not be able to afford to live here tomorrow. we must have a strategy to support low to moderate income families and their ability to stay in san francisco. as an individual unless benefited from the housing and

work force investment dollars, i hope to be a constant reminder to reach with our funding. i have attended a key meetings so far. i found that many of the policies, have been there as a part of the community. i will be there to help to assure the investment of the funds equal to the best use encouraging better outcomes of performances, working with them to help them do their job. i want to thank you for the opportunity. any questions? >> seeing none, thank you for being here.

is important for us for this committee and the work that it does. i have had a number of legislative appointments which i think intersect quite well and what i bring to the committee and the housing perspective, i'm currently the chair of the advisory committee. the oversight group for the implementation of this very comprehensive, very aspirational development program for the upper market. part of that is prioritizing and allocating funds which are used for putting away money for capital projects. i am serving on the infrastructure finance committee which most recently adopted a pilot program. we have established various

guidelines for financing and infrastructure. i have been appointed to the back streets advisory board. our charge was to come up with some suggestive policies strategies. lastly, i was in her the bioscience task force. we had years to come up with a policy suggestion. i've had experience and i think we have served in these rounds. i will say that the housing representative to the committee, -- at died about 8 months ago. i would bring myself to u.s. someone from the housing community. i have a couple of kids, i've been in the city for about 19
