i spent 2003 building my house in san francisco. after doing so, i really changed gears and started to build and design indoor gardens. i have been providing medical cannabis since 2004. a member of asa and ten collectives in san francisco. my goal in being on this task force is how we can overall better serve the needs of patients. more specifically, how can we move this industry out of the shadows and into the light through regulation had permitting.

and i hope we can bridge the gap between cultivators in the building and planning department to provide a safer gardens, and generate revenues for the city and possibly reducing the workload of the san francisco police department. and regulating these gardens through safety inspections and agriculture inspections, i hope we can provide the best medicine for our patients. >> any questions from colleagues? seeing the and, thank you for your interested. of like to call for our next applicant. >> think you for having me here today. i would like to give a very brief history of the importance

of and popularity of medical cannabis. the california marijuana initiative in 1972, it narrowly passed and became the first of several measures to reveal the friendliness. of of not enjoying the force of law, it demanded that the police and district attorney stop arresting people for sale of cannabis. proposition 215, the compassionate use act. 78% in support. last but not least, 63% of san francisco voters favored the recreation -- the legalization

of recreational cannabis. the popularity [unintelligible] attending to navigate a confusing patchwork of federal, state, local, criminal, and the civil laws -- learn everything that one can from past successes and failures, and vastly improving the proficiency of work and the likelihood of a meaningful outcome. i assure you that it has served me well. release 30 foundation for political involvements of the last couple of years.

working steadily, the former subcommittee on cultivation, the berkeley chapter, they have enabled and accelerated acquisition of knowledge and practical experience, which i believe cannot be found in the medical cannabis community. my scientific degree has reformed cultivation techniques. these qualities combined with my sophisticated understanding of a law feature a strong ability. the second and far more important reason is my willingness. it manifest itself in subtle ways, sometimes it is not appreciated until a large volume of activity is shown in

hindsight. have strong relationships with the sensory operators and patients. this is a consistent willingness to offer my time and energy. i have been not only able but willing to listen to every patient that feels like they have something to communicate. willing to defend the rights of all cultivators. willing to place free service for community members. willing to support berkeley cultivators by developing provisions of this successfully pushed for. but could not be here today. the first version of the nursery safety guidelines, to make the

presentation during a police commission meeting in defense of safe access. i am a stranger to risk or hard work. i did not choose my friends based on income level. i love what i do. i mentally appreciate the support and have offered to the community. the issue is deeply personal to me. i also think it was very fitting that i was educated at the farm. west and partly of all, you'll be certain that i will do this job effectively because in the senses, i already am. and you have any questions? supervisor kim: i was a different part of the farm, apparently. i would like to open up for

reality of life is that it is the number one cash crop. if we don't understand that, the pharmaceutical companies and big businesses are chomping at the bit. i have seen this guy do a lot of good work. this is a dear to my heart. i have a public access tv show. and that we have a lot of people that he gets too. lived in a member of the -- we have been a member of the cannabis community.

we are laughed at. i thank you for taking the time to listen to me. >> my name is theresa cooper, i have been a legal secretary for many years. i also studied a list of fields have also emphasized teacher. i masterwork in the access of love community. i was given the puppy who picked out just for me. the puppy is very big now. i am forever grateful to store. i would listen to what mark says because the work for the center and set at the seats. the mark was there since the inception.

as stewart has also been working with them. i would say i am paying attention to that and i am definitely for stewart roads because he is committed in the community and educated. >> i am a long time medical cannabis advocate. and the co-founder of marijuana patients and supporters. i have been attending the task force meetings for quite some time now. i am speaking in support of stuart. i have not seen anyone that is more capable or dedicated.

i think that as a patient advocate, i want to speak strongly in support of him because he supports us so strongly. >> i just want to say that i support stewart roads. i see him there participating. of a very low income person. i have a very serious and ellis going on right now, and i know he has contributed to me actually getting medicine. in saying that, i am forever grateful. they are really, truly helping me in my life right now.

i need that help. >> i am a homeless veteran, and i can honestly say in the medical marijuana movement, there are a lot of lies, a lot of veterans being left out even with the sunshine ordnance. one thing is true. stewart hopes of veterans. he only wants to give his word and keep it. he is the only help us veterans are actually getting. please support him so you can support your veterans.

>> i have a patient and a member of the collective. there is not much i can say. [unintelligible] [unintelligible] >> i represents low-income patients. the team has to win. you need players that are involved. whether they are second string in the sideline, when they are needed, you bring that up. stewart has been there since the working group, since the subcommittee on cultivation. he is not going anywhere. we need him on our team.

think you. -- thank you. >> i'm moved by the fact that stuart's speech, i'm a patient of access of love and hooppe ne. i met stuart five months ago, and he gave me hope. i can't take pain pills because the right side of my heart is dead. he gives it unconditionally and he goes out of his way to not only deal with medical marijuana. he deals with the community into the people liked to work on this team. he is reaching out to people he doesn't -- that don't even know about medical marijuana. you're looking at a person that

is facing a very serious operation. he has been there 100% for me. i will be here. >> good afternoon, supervisors. i have worked with stored for about a year-and-a-half. but he was chairman under the working group. he proved to be an extremely effective leader and concentrated on the issues that were relevant to cultivation. he was involved in discussions of the way through the current topics. i cannot imagine someone that is better qualified. i have enjoyed and look forward to discussions on the come in the rest of the community. i'm also the vice chair of the cultivation committee.

we had a vote that was made in favor and zero not in favor. >> i currently set on the task force and wanted to express my support for him as well. >> i am also a car member -- core member. he has been a great advocate in he has also been coming to the americans for safe access meetings. thank you. >> i am a criminal defense attorney here in san francisco.

i have had the pleasure of working with story roads -- stuart rhodes. i have had the pleasure of seeing his commitment to the actual issues. his expertise on the commit issues that he can bring forth, we are putting forth a home garden guide line. in his actual technical expertise was essential to bring that forward and pushing the discussion forward. more than anything, i would like to reiterate the commitment that he has demonstrated just through the sheer number of hours at locations that i have seen him of her volunteer work to the medical community. i strongly support his nomination. supervisor kim: any more speakers? i asked to line up.
