this update on the executive park. thank you. hot >> thank you. supervisor cohen: all right, fran martin. >> as co-chair of the visitation project, i am deeply concerned about the impact these developments will have on traffic in the adjacent to existing communities and the lack of adequate on site open space. i am also a member in the redevelopment area and a board member o f -- of sf parks.

i am not speaking for those, but i wanted you to know that i know about them. these are read several intersections, including -- there are several intersections, including highway 101. the schlage lock and lenar development. consequently, there is a disparate amount of styles. the open space company is sadly lacking for 1600 units of housing. these facilities are not that easily accessible, and there needs to be more adequate on site open space. i strongly urge that there be a robust planning department review process informed by

community participation as we go forward. given the highly significant situation, there needs to be particular attention paid to design issues. not at the expense of the surrounding neighborhood and future residents who will live there. this could make a healthy and beautiful community. supervisor cohen: ok, these next people. >> good afternoon, espinola jackson, bayview hunters point. i just want to give a little history here, because it has not been told. it was mentioned by the first speaker.

number one, the row house in was in the 1940's. that was called the candlestick project. my husband was in the navy, and i applied for housing there, and that was before the other came about, ok? local hiring started at executive park. it was executive park along with the community, along with eoc and a lot of other groups that work with the union, and there was one who sat on the board. the purpose for that was to make sure that residents of bayview hunters point would be able to get a job and become a union individual. they would be able to work, and after two weeks, they would be able to join the union, because

people were not in the union at that time. there was a lot of discrimination going on at that time. there was a city planner. his name was liable. -- lysle. the freeway of highway 101, to explain that and said deerpark was a part of visitation valley, and we all know that. that is a lie -- to explain that executive park was part of

visitation valley. they would give $3 million to that community. i went before the city planning and explain to them that should never have happened. there was never a hearing concerning those lines being drawn illegally. but when it was passed, when supervisor maxwell hired lysle, because he had done the dirty work to get $3 million, when they heard the issue that $1 million for bayview hunters point, a million dollars to the hollywood, and than a million dollars to visitation valley, but that was money to be given, a fee being paid. look it up for yourself and find out. [bell] they made that motion, and it was passed, but when it got to sophie maxwell, what happens?

nothing. and one of the things that caused a lot of hurt in the community is on days when you have a passing issue, i have written it down, and i cannot find it now, but -- supervisor cohen: perfect timing, because your time is up. when you find it, come back. all right, mr. mcray. >> supervisor, james mccray. we support this project, the executive park project. we believe this project will go a long way to assist with the task of reversing the alps migration of african-americans from the city and county of san francisco -- the foulke migration of african-americans. -- the out migration.

we believe this is a good project with the right developers. >> mr. everhart, you'll be speaking after mr. burke. >> i am the original developer of executive park. in 1975, my country joint venture with the scavenger companies that owned the property. world war ii housing was pretty ugly. it was the desire of the scavenger companies to change the visual entrance way to san francisco and to make it an office park. at that time, i met with members

of the bayview hunters point coordinating council. it was their idea that we form and the fis recommitted. as a graduate of the ball high school, i still had friends in the community. we were able to gather the folks from that community. i served briefly as the president of leland avenue merchants association. the point i want to get across to you is it has been tremendous community involvement since 1975, with executive park advisory committee combining with visitation valley. there is unfortunately not a dispute as to what the property lines are. having said that, i am really here to answer any questions you may have. i want to thank you for taking your time and look forward to meeting a supervisor -- with supervisor cohen in the near

future. >> good afternoon. my name is michael burke. i am a land-use attorney for the yerba company. we have been working with the planning department on this project since 2005. i just want to provide you response to some comments that were made. in response to mr. dacosta's concern about infrastructure, we have an eir that is incredibly thick. we have looked at archeologist -- archaeological issues. we are looking at appropriate representatives of the indian community. that is totally under control. we do not anticipate any impact at all. infrastructure -- obviously, the roads will be prepared and modern facilities will be brought in.

there seems to be some conflict between neighborhood groups about where fees might go. i can understand the concern of the community. but i want to tell you that that issue is not before you in connection with this plan. we were willing back in 2005, and are willing now, to pay the visitation valley fee, as it is in place. that is not an issue that involves this project. as far as community involvement goes, which started back in 2005. we first went to the planners to see if it made sense. next, we went to the community. we put this together to work with the community. the citizen's advisory community is composed of little hollywood and visitation valley. we have made presentations to we have made presentations to various groups on several
