the police department. i was a permanent officer a long time ago at a station. many things i hear resonate for my early experiences. i got to work closely with some of the main players in the entertainment community at golden gate park and that was quite an education. also the power of building relationships. i am -- have a have a private interest investment. i am sensitive to the importance of an economy for the city and a vibrant economy in the nighttime community and also sensitive to the balances around public

safety. i may city resident, a fourth generation, fifth generation. i live in the city. while some folks might look at the community at a distance, i lived it. i spent a lot of time at restaurants, less so at music venues. when i have done so far is i had one meeting with the cmac board of directors to get acquainted. we have another for august t2. in mhy -- my personal philosophy is i value what i participate or also have to question. this is often found at the root

commission took a look at it and send recommendations in support of the land use committee. again it was passed with recommendation yesterday. july 25. the board did discuss the item today. we did continue it for a week, they felt they had to have more discussion with community. the plan is to see that item by the board on its first reading. i have given new this legislation before. if anyone is interested, i have the package. the other legislation i wanted

to make the commission aware of is something that was introduced, it is in the waiting period, a piece of legislation regarding a bowling alley in the mission. i think we attached this behind my memo there. a copy of the ordinance from june 21. i believe this will be heard after the summer break. in short, the genesis of the legislation is a new bowling alley and restaurant are project called the mission bowling club. it is in the subdistrict. currently prohibits the business

owner from allowing someone who is consuming a beverage in the bar to bring it into the bowling alley. the legislation will exempt the bowling alley. the larger impact of that subdistrict, i have spoken about this before. and there is an article i attached behind my memo. for your information. take a look at that and we can bring this issue back. we are investigating whether or not -- i cannot find if bowling

alleys have permits. bowling alleys have closed, not opened. i could not find anything about the bowling alley permit. we may not issue that. maybe there is not one. maybe there should not be. is there a question? >> is this the same as brooklyn bowl? >> this is a different route. -- group. >> these folks have another business on to visit deerow -- divisidero. they are planning to go into the border now. we are rowling.

last wednesday, july 20. i attended a meeting july 21. my meeting was regarding outdoor events in the fillmore, hosted by the fillmore and the lower fillmore. there was a discussion about juneteenth that had problems regarding security. the -- it was an interesting discussion. they are eager to learn about how the city would like them to manage those outdoor events. do you want to chime in briefly?

the would-be hopeful. >>-- that would be helpful. >> one is his meeting at the station open to the public and the other is the advisory board residents and merchants to meet, there is also a monthly meeting. i hope more captains decide to do that because i thought it was useful. there were -- was a lot of questions about how the city works and how the process works for permitting, how to file complaints that will have action come out of them. and general education about how -- if it is at the beginning

stages of permitting. it was -- there was a representative there. there was the police, the city attorney, and us. i think that everyone learned something. i e-mailed some of the people afterwards. it was positive. anything else? >> no. >> i feel like we have been doing this since the beginning, going to community meetings. people are coming and going in the city and do not know what the entertainment commission does. we have to update and educate the public about what we do and how we do it and respond to specific concerns of specific neighborhoods.

we will let you know where we are. i want to remind you the night life summit is august 9. i'm glad to hear the commander is interested in coming. we need everyone's help in making sure we get a good turnout from the industry, from promoters and the general public. as you can saysee, mr. bernellis not here but he put together a short list of opportunities -- activities. maybe behind my memo. i am not sure. i'm happy to answer any questions related to that report if i can. >> puerto rican mortar, do you

>> it is my understanding. there is no permit from us there either. they're trying to work together to keep them from doing things they should not be doing. >> >> these were citations that were issued the saturday before last. i know that the citations were issued after an on view of the sound violations.
