recreational it on the streets while being homeless and found that it helped me very much, so i made a determination to get my cannabis card. doing that, i made a goal to learn as much as i could about cannabis and cannabis issues and health-related dynamics related to cannabis. when i got into the movement, it swept me up, and it has not dropped me yet, and i doubt it will. i am very passionate about helping cannabis patients and san franciscans in general. i enjoy what i do. i do not take it for granted at all. i need a lot of people every day that ask me questions about medical cannabis, and i am proud to give them what they need to know, recommendations and

guidelines and safe practices and things like that, so thank you for considering my application. supervisor kim: thank you for speaking to it. you do not have to come back to the next rules committee, but i just wanted to ask you what you hope to accomplish in the following year. >> the following year in the task force, i would like to bring diversity. right now, a majority of the task force is primarily white. i am an african-american. i am also quarter regan -- puerto rican. i do speak spanish and a lot of other dialect's, so i can bring that to the task force as well. i know a lot of youth just getting into canada's after using it recreation league, and i would like to bring them up and show them what to do, how the to do it, and different

guidelines. also, i am and homeless advocate. there are a lot of homeless individuals that use medical cannabis recreational league, and they are still getting picked up or cited or things like that. i just want to keep the outreach and the advocacy going around in our community because there are still issues popping up around medical cannabis. supervisor kim: thank you. kenneth lima. >> good afternoon, supervisors. i am here to advocate for patients for medical marijuana for one purpose. i provide hospice for people who are dying and who are scheduled to die. i survived that, and i want to help those who are dealing with new debt issues and perhaps make them more comfortable, not so

they have to accept it, so they can survive because i survived. there is no reason they cannot survive. and being a son of a veteran who also survived cirrhosis of the liver, there are a lot of illnesses that i have dealt with in my past and that i know about. i know a lot about heart disease because i was born with heart disease, and i know a lot of issues that can be served with medical marijuana in that aspect. that is my goal, to help in that part. sorry, i am nervous. supervisor kim: it is ok. you are doing great. is there anything you wanted to add about your interest on the task force? >> the people involved brought me to city hall and educated me on the people involved with it.

when i first started, i was only involved with my family, and that is just a bunch of nonsense. i got to san francisco and realize there were more people involved that i realized and found out that this was for me and i really needed to help as much as i can these people because they helped me. supervisor kim: thank you so much, mr. lima. >> thank you very much. >> hello, supervisors. my name is littered watkins. i am a san francisco native. -- my name is leonard watkins. the two schools i went to do not exist anymore. my mom is a panamanian immigrant. she worked at laguna honda for a number of years. when i was younger, i would come in as a volunteer.

i became ill a number of years ago and had to go on medical marijuana here at the time, it was for a knee operation. i found that it worked. i am here before you apply in to help other people. while i was ill, and that other people who were also cannabis patients, but they had no way of getting their medicine. i more or less became their advocate or caregiver to bring this medicine to them. since then, it has been 10 years, and i am still doing this. most of my kate -- patients are either in medical care facilities or in hospice or in a hospital. i get a lot of support from the cannabis community here in san francisco. the vapor room, hope net, the

green door, just to name a few. a lot of people know what i do. i really feel i would bring a great amount to the task force. it is for this reason why i actually put in my application for this. this is how i have it. supervisor kim: thank you, mr. watkins. i saw that you live in sacramento. will you have trouble making task force meetings? i know we have several committee meetings. >> i have worked for the city and county of san francisco. i am retired police officer. there had not been a difficulty. i was always across the bridge. supervisor kim: i just wanted to make sure. >> right. it is not a problem. thank you.

bureaus' referenced in this order it's to create two divisions. one focuses on building and the other on infrastructure. we did this mainly to create integrated teams with diverse experience to deliver projects from beginning to end, including design and construction. in the past, legislation referenced the three separate bureaus, and we intended, through this vision, to reference in the future of the department of public works instead of each individual bureau. if you are interested in additional information about the organization, i have a power point presentation i would be happy to share with you if you need. supervisor kim: are there any questions from colleagues? i think this is a pretty straightforward item. i did not have questions myself.

of dpw engineering. this is san francisco's history. history has been decimated under the proposal. here is a report from 1923 by the city engineer at the time. the organization does not mean we have to destroy the history and part of san francisco, okay? i am here to speak for myself and on behalf of local 21 on this agenda item. engineering and construction management, the reorganization proposal would permit the race over a century-old institution of the city from the annals of the department's history. san francisco's dtw has a bureau of engineering and bureau of

architecture design and manage the construction of the city's infrastructure and have done that, proudly serving the city's residents. over the years, the bureau's have undertaken not only small and medium but single projects worth over $200 million. in those days, the golden gate bridge, and lots more. that is under the name of the bureau of engineers. the bureau has received national awards of excellence for some of the projects they have completed over the years from many national organizations like the american institute of architects, the american association of civil engineers, the american association of landscape architects, the public works association, the water works association, and many other local chapters of professional and trade organizations. what is more important than recognition of this national
