with young children because it lacks these types of activities. the customers are key to longevity and development. music centers are different from those you might imagine in the united states. before i get to those differences, let me tell you a story about how i came up with the idea. i have three boys and we visited once a week for groceries. my sons and i mill about the candy aisle. it gets boring quickly. the malls in japan are geared towards having something for everyone. especially families and children. if the children are happy, parents will shop longer. the mall will also see them as future customers. japanese family amusement stores are different from the dark lit u.s. arcades.

they are filled with violent games. in japan, they are bright and colorful family-oriented spaces with games that a cute, musical, funny. prizes are cute, silly anime merchandise. like totoro and pokemon. i have examples. >> toys! yay! >> pokemon. [laughter] all right? little girls' pencil cases. things like that. >> sanrio? >> not sanrio, but it would be the boys or other kids' version of sanrio.

remember when you were a child and visited fao schwartz. my sons are excited to go with us to go to the music store. think of where your children are excited to go shopping with you. why can't we have this? it can be brought to san francisco's japantown. when i started doing outreach, everyone agreed that it needs family oriented activities. other organizations indicated a strong desire to have more families at the mall. they offer a unique cultural experience that is very contemporary to japan town and in line with designs for japantown. those that have been in japan will find it extremely missed out. the games will be prize-

oriented. nothing mature or gory. prizes will be changed every couple of weeks, and it iwlwill offer retail goods and snacks. target range is 3-12, anime fans, couples on dates. i store will have a father is applying for or with their children. imagine the joy you will get from winning a hello kitty for your daughter. here are examples. these are some stores in japan. very j-pop. i don't know if you're familiar with the building but it is contemporary and up-and-coming.

it will represent the store's image. this is tomo and yiu. -- yui. they will be representatives of the store. check this out, i'll have one here that says sorry, out of order. maybe pictures like this, this will be on the machines, on the walls. someplace that you will feel comfortable to bring your five- year-old. the characters will be on the walls, think of as a hell of katy -- hello kitty store. it offers a refreshening and new attraction to japantown. i have been to little tokyo,

they don't have anything similar to this. san francisco who will be the first. rather than retail space and think that primarily represents a cultural experience. from a business standpoint, i imagine it being more of a hub, the other merchant arespokes on a -- are spokes on a wheel. if you have to wait 30 minutes for a meal, you can spend some time at the store over dinner and a movi or for dinner and a y can stay. the children get bored, they want to go home. my store will incentivized families to spend more time in japan and spend more money in the mall.

there is a correlation the amount of time they spend in the amount of money. i can see this as raising revenue and employment. you can imagine how children will be excited to visit with their families. i have talked with community groups and nonprofits who have endorsed my prop -- project. the awful sausage -- they offers social -- >> we have a list of them. >> the planning committee, the merchants association, and representatives of the police department. all of these organizations have endorsed my project. the planning department has also approved the project. i would like to say i appreciate your time.
