supervisor chu: if so it is this document here that i am looking at? ok. so that is worth 300,000? >> the $200,000 is to implement early improvements associated with current planning projects. >> we have area wide projects that are currently underway that are being planned. with the $200,000 would be allocated to is when you work with the community will often have early implementation. to maintain continuity, the $200,000 would be allocated so that when you finish planning, you can immediately go into implementation. that way we maintain that momentum of the projects. supervisor chu: my tongue

you have a second. can we take that without objection? without objection. thank you. >> good morning, commissioners. this item begins on page 225 in your packets. i'm just going to schedule the importance slides. on the first slide, this is the key document that will maintain our cities eligibility in gas tax. regional priorities, the regional transportation improvement program will be adopted.

so if you go to slide 5, these are basically the key findings to monitor how the congestion monitoring program network forms every number of years. you can see we basically have very flat travel speeds from 2009 to 2011 with the exception of amt freeways. there is a decrease in speed, and a number of reasons for that. we are positing that a number of people were deciding to look for employment coming out of the recession, perhaps looking for more regional head of freeways, and there could be many reasons, but that could be one of them. another reason to look at the congestion monitoring program is the transit, how it compares to auto travel speeds. we find that transit tends to be one-and-a-half times or two and

a half times longer than a bottle crawlspace, particularly on the segments we are focusing, like the ad and a -- like the avenue where i could get up to as much as four times the amount of trouble as i could buy auto. this is all again to make sure that our investment portion and policies are in conformance with updates. there are a number of other initiatives to help manage congestion, including the transportation sustainability fees that we will be looking at when we measure congestion and impacts in the city among other local policies as well. with that, i will take any questions after that brief presentation. and another two large enclosures that are the studies and entities included in the packet. supervisor campos: any
