those items are approved as proposed. you are now on item number nine. commission matters. are there any commission concerns? commissioner antonini: as is the case with most of you,ç i watch the super bowl. having been on indianapolis and that not too distant past, i wanted to see how it worked with that many people there. it's a city with a population not much below san francisco, but it is more spread out. çthere downtown area is pretty dense. i did not notice a lot of traffic even though they have three great facilities within walking distance of each other. the thing that they do and

something that was instructive was as people are entering the area off the freeways and expressways, they have easy çaccess into garages where it's not confusing to park their cars and take public transit. that's one thing we have to look at. not everyone is going to take public transit into san francisco, particularly people from outlying areas or visiting from other parts of the company and we have toç make easy for themç to get around on public transportation. that worked quite well in indianapolis. i don't know in the context of something we are discussing later on, that is an important thing to look at as we look at future planning. president miguel: i had meetings during the past week with

people from a project that may be coming to us at 20th and connecticut street. i attended a meeting that was put together byç supervisor campo'os'department at which we sentç back to do more neighbor and our reach. i had a very interesting article in the new york times last week regarding formula retail and how they hope to handle its and it has --ç they are handling it by ground floor with spaces, 40 feet, financial

çat 1800 market street. this is a program we are working on in conjunction with the parks department which was the results of the road identified in thexd recreation and workspae as the item with a thousand dollar grant from the state to work on this. it is intended to betterç connt the city -- there will be a focus on the first year of establishing broad connections and on the second year on the design of particular streets to reinforce these connections. itç is a program staff is very excited about and we were lucky to grants and other place on this to work. that concludes
