octavia and gulf of st.. the applicant originally applied for a type 42 on sale beer and wine permit any type 20 off sale beer and wine. after receiving multiple complaints, the wrist -- they withdrew the application for type 22 with abc. the applicant's plan that hours of operation is 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. daily. there is no opposition from northern station. the applicant premise is not located in a high crime area. it is located in an undue concentration area. at the time of this report, dated march 5, 2012, there were two documented letters of protest. march 8, 2012, i received notice

that both of those protests since withdrew their protest. there is no record of support, and a l u recommends approval with following conditions. one, sales of alcoholic beverage to be permitted between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. daily. no. 2, no noise shall be audible beyond the area under the control of the licensee as defined in the abc 257. three, no person under the age of 21 shall sell or deliver alcoholic beverages. four, petitioners shall not make structural changes in the premise interior without prior written approval from the department. 5, the sale of beer or malt beverages in quantities of 16 ounces, 22 ounces, 32 ounces, worth 40 ounces, or similar size containers, is prohibited.

it is located in an undue concentration area. there are no records of protest or support. we recommend approval with the following conditions. no. 1, sales of alcoholic beverages shall be permitted between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. daily. no. 2, no more than 5% of the square footage of the premises shall be used for the display of alcoholic beverages. number three, no malt beverage shall be sold with the alcohol content greater than 5.7% by volume, except for microbrew, kraft brew, organic, or special products sold under such designations as stout, porter, i croupier, and ps be. this is intended to eliminate high alcohol, low-cost products that are frequently abused, but not prevent the sale of

articulated, add the following four conditions to this license. i believe that we have a representative from the operator that these are conditions that have accepted. for the record, the following four conditions are interior security cameras must be installed within the store and concentrated in the area of beer and wine products. they will be monitored during onside hours by on-site management and made available to the sf pd for 30 days upon request. condition no. 2, in addition to security cameras and they will allow employees and management to monitor activities visually. condition number three, all checkouts will be equipped with electronic scanning equipment and prompt cashiers to provide proper identification before sale is complete -- completed. loitering will be prohibited on the adjacent sidelocks to the store. store management will be responsible for store security

see you in a couple weeks, inspector. >> item #3. resolution authorizing the recreation and parks department to accept and expend an urban greening grant in the amount of $710,779 for cayuga playground and clubhouse funded by the safe drinking water, water quality and supply, flood control, river and coastal protection bond act of 2006. supervisor elsbernd: thank you. >> good morning, supervisors. i am the project manager with the recreation and park department. tony is also joining me today, he is the brand manager for the recreation and park department. we are seeking authorization to accept and extend an urban greeting grant. under the proposition 84, also known as the state's drinking water water quality flood control river and coastal

protection bond act of 2006. this grant would supplement the department's park bond for the renovation of the cliff house and would pay for the green elements on that project, including landscaping. the grant requires that a memorandum be filed and that the site be used for recreational purposes for the next 20 years. in the unlikely event that the site is sold or transferred, it prohibits indirect costs. lastly, in preparation for the resolution, it has taken a bit longer than we had anticipated in during that time the project had actually begun. therefore, the department is respectfully requesting that the resolution be amended to state that this would be a retroactive authorization. i am available to answer questions. supervisor elsbernd: can you give us an idea of when the

project will be complete? >> the anticipated completion date is november of 2012. supervisor elsbernd: this year? fantastic. and generally speaking, are we on budget with the project? >> absolutely. we anticipate a surplus at the end of the project. supervisor elsbernd: thank you very -- thank you very much. is there any public comment? mr. in an area dominated by abstract expression. even his peers saw his form. >> he was able to find a middle ground in which he balanced the ideas of human figuration and representation with abstraction and found it even more meaningful to negotiate that duality. >> another challenge was to create art from a meeting that was typically viewed as kraft material. his transforming moment was an accident in the studio. an oversized vertical sculpture began to collapse under its own weight and spread onto the floor. he sought a new tradition before him, landscape sculpture. >> you feel this extended human form underneath the surface of the earth struggling to emerge. eventually, it does. it articulates his idea that the

earth is like flesh, and the archaeology and geology in the earth are like the bones, the structure of the earth. this tied in with his idea of mother earth, with the sense that we are all tied to nature and the earth. >> a half dozen bay area museums and private collectors loan the massive sculptures to the museum for its matter and spirit retrospective. but the most unusual contributions came from stephen himself. a wall of autobiographical masks and hence from the early decades of his private study. >> he had one of the most beautiful studios i have ever been in. when you walk in, your first impression is of these monumental figures that you see in the exhibition, but if you went into the back corner of his studio, there was a series of shells with these diminutive figures. he told me, these are the heart of my studio.

these little, and held intimate study is that he referred to as his sketchbook. a painter might make drawings. stephen de staebler made miniature sculptures. >> during the 1970's, he was inspired by the monuments of egypt. he assembled a large rocks of clay into figures that resembled the ancient kings and queens. he credited a weathered appearance by rubbing glazes' into the clay while still wet. the misfires from his killed were brought in his backyard in his berkeley home. he called it his boneyard. in the last year of his life, he dug up the artifacts from his own history, and the bones were rearranged, in the were slimmer figures with wings. >> even if you knew nothing about his life or career, you sensed there was an artist dealing with this fundamental issue of life and death, the cake, netting back together, and
