motion. chair hur: public comment on the motion? >> david pilpel. i would just suggest this so the authority is clear going forward, so i think it makes sense, and i encourage you to pass the motion. by. >> peter warfield. as long as you are trying to do things formally and properly, i think it would be good to let a very clear motion. i thought you were discussing a schedule and had come up with a list of dates and actions on either side, and now all of a sudden, we seem to have some kind of empowering of the chair to take certain action, so i am not all clear what that aspect is or what exactly you are voting on, so i think it would be useful to state the motion clearly as to what you are voting on. thank you.

chair hur: and the other? mr. st. croix? >> i make a motion that you and power the chair to make adjustments to the schedule that has been laid out tonight. chair hur: i think that motion has been made and seconded, and the motion was not to change the schedule but that if the parties, sometimes in the sort of things come issues come up where dates have to be modified slightly, and rather than slow down the process by requiring the entire body to meet over a routine at ministerial matter, this would allow the chair to handle those and allow the process to move smoothly and as quickly as due process would allow. vice president studley: i understood the motion. i think it was clear.

although we do not normally respond directly, i think the question was where did this schedule come from since the schedule had been adopted with agreement from the parties and was not adopted by motion. we are being more formal and that your authority than we were about the terms of the schedule, and i think if that is the proper procedural step, it would just help to clarify the weight that the schedule has and why you are proceeding as you did, either after voting on the motion or before. chiar hur: i am not sure i follow what you're suggesting we do. vice president hur: -- studley: its source of authority is different than what we are voting on now. i am just say that we do not

need to vote on it. chair hur: ok, to be perfectly crystal clear, we do not need to vote on implementing a procedure will schedule, and that is what the commission did not vote on it. the agreement discussed with the parties is the procedure will schedule. there is no objection, that is the schedule that will govern going forward, absent an administrative request for some modification if there is good cause or something like that, so with that, all in favor of the motion that was put forth by commissioner studley? any opposed? the motion passes. thank you all for your patient participation in this. the meeting is adjourned. 106 years since our earthquake. we do have a grandson? she was with us in 2009. goopublic works is here.

this reminds us of the 3000 people but passed away in 1906 from the devastating earthquake, but the rebirth of our city is with us. i have been in all of these other positions where we are always prepared. and we are already engaged in recovery efforts. we were there with a whole staff.

we have six we assure you that when the next big event happens, that water system will be there for us to deliver water with that 24 hours. a huge change from depending on this fountain. we are handing it off to generations of youth in the city to understand -- make sure they're prepared. go to our website, it tells you all the things there. iti is about having those items prepared.w we will survive. that is how we get ready and celebrate and honor the people who left us and make sure our city is ready. thank you for being here.

congratulations to our survivors. >> very nice job. behind me is a good friend and a great firechief. you go back 106 years. braxton morning. -- good morning. one of the survivors could not be with us. those are amazing changes. it does give us the opportunity to remember what happened. we commemorate those who suffered losses in their lives and hardships. we also celebrate the city that was nearly swept from the map.

the fires raged for three days and caused rates -- great devastation. we take the opportunity to educate everyone. it is a pleasure for me to work under the direction of mayor lee. he is a public safety championship. he is a prepared as champion. he lives it. i have seen his kids and his workplace. it is all about teamwork. i am proud to be working with chief suhr. and scott weiner, it is a pleasure to have you out here. we appreciate it. it is a great team. thank you to the people who are out here. and also our partners with the american red cross.

this rod to fling away. exactly as you moved your hands. >> that's it? >> that's it. >> i'm a natural. >> push both arms forward and snap the lower hand into your tummy. push forward. >> i did gave it a try and had great time but i might need some more practice. i met someone else with real fly casting skills. her name is donna and she is an international fly casting champion. >> i have competed in the casting ponds in golden gate park in san francisco. i have been to japan and norway for fly casting competition. i spend my weekends here at the club and at the casting pond. it's a great place to learn and have fun. on a season day like this, it was the perfect spot to be.

i find fly casting very relaxing and also at the same time very challenging sport. takes me out into the nature. almost like drawing art in the air. and then i can make these beautiful loops out there. >> even though people from across the globe come here to compete, it's still a place where locals in the know relax and enjoy some rely unique scenery. until next time, get out and play!
