sfgov tv. >> were holding signs on the street corner of washington and grant in san francisco's chinatown, telling onlookers the truth about the persecution in main laverpbled chin these past 13 years, including the horrific practice of harvesting organs from live victims. at the time a chinese man stood by the street slandering him in a high voice. another man of chinese descent appeared and began to verbally abuse the practitioners that were there. when this new man began to show an inclination toward physical

violence, the practitioners began to record the scene with their cell phones. the man slammed his fists into their face. the practitioner did not retaliate but warned the assailant that his arkses would be videotaped. the assailant once again punched the practitioner under his left jaw. dd the assailant, along with the other chinese man in the red shirt, attempted to escape the scene, but the falun gong practicer and another prackser stood in their way. the assailant assaulted the

female prackstieser's shoulder, chest, arm, and face. the female practitioner said loudly "you hit people." the red-shirted man shouted back. the female practicer's harm had several bruised spots. he ran through the crowd and the practitioner followed him. a man wearing a red vest yelled for the assailant to lie down on the ground. when the police avived -- arrived at the scene, the assailant first tried to defend his actions, then he laid down on the ground and pretended to have fallen unconscious.

beside the assailant, another man in a light blue colored shirt began making intimidating hand gestures and verbally threatened the person in the crowd who filmed the incident with a camera. another onlooker then stepped guard and showed the police officers a video of the incident and the police began to gather information from the assailant and the assaulted falun gong practitioner for the police report. the police later called for the man to be taken away in an ambulance. the police stated that they arrested the assailant without custody. the san francisco district attorney's office has started the investigation and will bring the assailant to court. on june 16, 2012, the chinese man in the red shirt assaulted

another group of female falun gong practitioners. without warning he smashed a wooden placard down violently on the women. it hit the head of one female practitioner and knocked her eyeglasses off her face to the ground. his attack on another female practitioner was on a large area of her arm and became swollen. the police arrived on the scene after an energy -- emergency call to investigate. the police determined -- president chiu: thank you very much. let's hear from our next speakers. thank you very much.

>> speaking in foreign language] >> hello, everybody, my name is derek and on june 10 i was attacked by the man in chinatown when i was telling them what happened to me and my mother being persecuted in china. my mother and i started practicing in 1997 and after the persecutions started in 1 88 they tortured my mom and forced her to give up her beliefs. my mom is only one of a lot of the falun gong practitioners

being tortured for their beliefs. none of the falun gong practitioners have fought back with violence when facing such persecution. the man you saw in the video who verbally assaulted us and physically attacked us, including punching him on the jaw, i never fought back. none of us have fought back with violence. you also saw that a few, maybe four to five people caught on the video, they were instigating hatred. we only wanted to tell the people in chinatown what's

really going on with the persecution china and we hope to work together to end the persecution. i hope that you can help us to stop the hate crimes that are happening in chinatown. thank you. president chiu: thank you very much. next speaker. >> [speaking in foreign language] >> hi, i'm 50 years old this year and i live in richmond. on june 10, around noontime in chinatown there was a violent attack of falun gong practitioners. i was one of the victims and

went to the general hospital to have the wound examined. my sister, who's also a falun gong practitioner, was literally tortured to death and she was only 30 years old. my older brother, because of his believes in falun gong, has been imprisoned for 12 years right now. he's still in prison and i have been imprisoned and beaten up by electric batons.

i came to america. i thought that this free land could respect my beliefs and i could help my sister and my brother to tell people to defend for them. i thought i could use my own experience to tell the fellow chinese people here about the persecution caused by the chinese communist party. but the beaten incident on june 10 made me very sad and disappointed. why chinese would beat up their own chinese?

i realize the chinese communist party has already extended its interior off-seasons overseas while -- its influence overseas. they also use brainwashing to chinatown chinese. chinatown has become a place for anti-american sentiments. for example, that was -- there was that man in the red shirt in chinatown. he's been standing there for 23 years, defaming and cursing all

the chinese groups of people that the chinese government doesn't like, including falun gong practitioners. that man in the red jacket, it's hatred, behavior and speech has caused violence toward falun gong practitioners and it's a hate crime. if we don't stop that it's going to continue to happen. president chiu: thank you very much. thank you very much. next speaker.

>> hello, my name is james bosworth. i would like to talk about the latest thing that muni is embarking on, again reducing the number of bus stops thinking that's going to speed service. the only way that will speed service is if you chase a lot of riders away. if you don't there's going to be bigger crowds at the existing stops and one of the things that slows muni down are the huge crowds at the bus stops. it takes too long for people to get in and out of the bus if there are gigantic crowds. the more you guys keep letting them cut service, the worse the problem gets. those are the things that are slowing bus service down. not too many bus stops. it's too many people at the stops. you need to restore service to the way it was before 2005. muni was a lot bigger then. there were more lines, they had more please.

the budget was -- employees. the budget was much smaller and now they can't budget -- balance the budget. something is not right there. how come the the 21 hayes does not go near the aquarme where the tourists want to go? you think you're going to be crushed to death. the people have no alternative except the five. as busy as it is, you only have one way to get somewhere? that's total stupidity. muni is supposed to be a source for the city, not a -- residents, not a source for the city to get more money for other departments. that's not the way it's supposed to be run. you need to cease and desist and do things the right way. please reconsider your poor

performance. thank you. president chiu: next speaker. >> my name is ace washington and i respectfully request that the president of the board of supervisors, allow me at least 90 seconds more to speak. i'm up here in the body as ace washington, but i'm up here speaking as maybe not the czar, but i am in the car on the institutional program that has a lot to do with my race. the african-american population is going down. respectfully i would ask that and if you don't you'll have to just arrest me because i'm going to speak. in comparison of the newspapers today, mr. president, about three years ago i came up here asking for two minutes and at the time you didn't do it for me. since you know the rule, you can. i'm surprised that the only black supervisor is not here. i wish someone would call her and tell her to come here immediately. because the blacks are in a state of emergency here in san

francisco. we've done had studies upon studies upon studies. now we want a study of what we call conspiracy. if you have studies that show what the redevelopment in the city has done all these years and show of the conspiracy. nothing has done. or you don't want us here. either one is wrong. we have four budget cycles that the prior mayor knew some put in on my graduation. i was there videotaping everything that was there. now, here we have another budget where the mayor says about black history, oh, we all have to help the blacks. the asians, the gays, the latinos. then he comes around for june teenlt, oh, we all have to help the blacks and right the wrong. i haven't seen anything to

painted out. our research found that a law is in existence, the california art preservation act, and that requires that the artist, or if he or she has died for 50 years, the heirs and personal representives must be given the opportunity to remove the work and take it from where it stands. in the city's haste to destroy this mural and to get rid of it, it has not only neglected it and had a trail of illegalities in the process of having approvals and getting rid of it, but in this instance, it was ready the next day to remove this mural without having made the proper notification. and i certainly hope that supervisor cam pose is paying -- campos is paying attention. the scaffolding had gone up on
