and sf-made is an incredible collaborative here that is working to keep local manufacturing. and increase that part of the sector, which is also a different type of coming of jobs for san francisco. that we greatly need. i am excited to in a short amount of time to welcome this development to this part of the district. and i was reminded it wasn't that long ago on a nice and sunny day, that we also were able to be here with the giants to announce this new development here on seawall lot 337. i am excited for this partnership. and excited to work with supervisor cohen that borders this part of mission bay. and that we are able to develop this complete and exciting new neighborhood. thank you.

>> good morning, i am so excited to be here, and this is district 6, and if we were in district 10, there will be sun. but at pier 70, district 10, there will be sunshine, i promise. i too share the ports excitement and supervisor kim's excitement. to stand here with the giants, and one of san francisco's oldest business, anchor breweries, to make this announcement. i can't make the bold statement that it's my favorite. i wasn't play favorites. because we have another brewery in bayview. but i want to key on when we talk about development of the city and the southeast neighborhood. they are talking about it in terms of attracting new

businesses and new projects. what is unique about today, we are emphasizing the expansion of a san francisco business that is based here today. and already is growing and expanding. that makes this announcement more exciting. anchor has been a part of san francisco and potrero hill for decades. it's a great partnership to have have it here in pier 78 -- pier 48, you are welcome. you sense the competition, maybe just on my part, i don't know. nonetheless it's very fortuitous that we are here today. i want to say thank you to keith gregor, and for the giants, larry, thank you for your leadership. and mayor, go giants. all right, thank you.

effort of the port and the community and with the mayor's office and the board of supervisors. to come up with a plan to make this today what is a reality. i think this is an extremely auspicious beginning. we are in the ninth or 10th day of chinese new years. and i think it's important to recognize this is a great beginning for mission rock and anchorstein. and as the mayor said, we are trying to activate the waterfront. and pier 48 and mission rock is what we are trying it do, to combine many disverse businesses. where it's maritime and with giants and anchorstein to bring forward the waterfront. it's a renaissance that we are seeing. i sometimes talk to the port

staff, gosh another press conference. because we are always announcing something new on the waterfront. so exciting to be a part of this effort. i want to recognize the port staff in their hard work and the mayor's office and port staff to work on all the projects. and this one exemifies so many purposes, i can't wait to see when anchorstein is here, this is a tourist attraction. this is a great beginning. it's not the end. we have so many more things coming, the exploretorium will be coming soon. and i am happy to facilitate what we expect over the next

gis is a combination of maps and data. not a graphic you see on a screen. you get the traffic for the streets the number of crimes for a police district in a period of time. if the idea of combining the different layerce of information and stacking them on top of each other to present to the public. >> other types of gis are web based mapping systems. like google earth, yahoo maps. microsoft. those are examples of on line mapping systems that can be used to find businesses or get driving directions or check on traffic conditions. all digital maps. >> gis is used in the city of san francisco to better support what departments do. >> you imagine all the various elements of a city including

parcels and the critical infrastructure where the storm drains are. the city access like the traffic lights and fire hydrants. anything you is represent in a geo graphic space with be stored for retrieval and analysis. >> the department of public works they maintain what goes on in the right-of-way, looking to dig up the streets to put in a pipe. with the permit. with mapping you click on the map, click on the street and up will come up the nchgz that will help them make a decision. currently available is sf parcel the assessor's application. you can go to the assessor's

website and bring up a map of san francisco you can search by address and get information about any place in san francisco. you can search by address and find incidents of crime in san francisco in the last 90 days. we have [inaudible] which allows you to click on a map and get nchldz like your supervisor or who your supervisor is. the nearest public facility. and through the sf applications we support from the mayor's office of neighborhood services. you can drill down in the neighborhood and get where the newest hospital or police or fire station. >> we are positive about gis not only people access it in the

office but from home because we use the internet. what we used to do was carry the large maps and it took a long time to find the information. >> it saves the city time and money. you are not taking up the time of a particular employee at the assessor's office. you might be doing things more efficient. >> they have it ready to go and say, this is what i want. >> they are finding the same things happening on the phone where people call in and ask, how do i find this information? we say, go to this website and they go and get the information easily. >> a picture tells a thousand stories. some say a map ♪

>> our concern is they are going to be here for a couple of days and everybody is going to have a great time. and we have three days of them and 362 days of everybody else using the park. ♪ ♪ >> this is the fifth year of our partnership with another planet entertainment, where another planet puts on probably the greatest music festival in america for three days here in

golden gate park. >> we work with them a lot to prevent and not have any problems. and what we have done with them is have roads built and have pieces under whatever equipment is parked. they do all of that. and then when it gets removed, they have very little damage. >> for me as a gardener and having to stay here and work after they leave, i am more than happy when i see their greening team come through and green everything up. >> we have given them pieces that they can use, and pieces that they can't use. so we are allowing them, again, because we have irrigation in the ground so they can use, and if they put up a tent they can stake a tent in some places, they can't stake a tent in other places. so we are protecting the golden gate park asset. >> so what is really special about the partnership is not just the incredible music, that about 70,000 of our closest friends are listening to right now, but for the respect that everybody has for this park and the work that we do with the

outside land music promoters to make sure that in a few short weeks, what you see out here will again be a beautiful, green, field filled with children playing soccer. >> everything pops back up, we are getting better and better as the years go by. bringing it back real quick, that is what we do. we bring the grass back and make sure that the plants are not destroyed. >> we work year round to plan for this event to make sure that all of the waste is picked up. 77 percent of all of the waste is diverted or recycling or composted. >> the gardeners work with another product operation staff to make sure that first and foremost we are protecting the incredible trees, meadows and the incredible open space that is golden gate park. >> making the crowd make a choice of which band have want to see.

so we don't have everybody going to one stage like a stampede. that didn't work for the event producers and it didn't work for us. we worked together and found solutions and it is working. >> you see a lot of people out here having a good time. you have no idea, how much work and planning has gone into this to make this sustain able and eco friendly park the greatest park in the united states. ♪ >> san francisco is one of those incredible cities in the world. i would rather be around trees, than like flat land, you know what i am saying? >> the fact that it is separate places it gives a lot of space for the amount of people that is here. i really appreciate that. ♪ >> san francisco, what is not to love? >> a blessing with the space and a blessing being here and everyone else being here on public land and sharing this music and vibration together and we are grateful for the city and the park and rec for

police commission community meeting we are going to have a few words from supervisor ferrel who represents the district. supervisor, ferrel? >> thank you. >> can you guys hear me okay? >> yes. >> all right. >> well, thank you, first of all, thank you pr mazzucco and thank you for the police commissioner for coming welcome back to district two. and i want to say thank you to all of the residents who are here and i see not only a lot of the fellow san franciscoans here but i see a lot of other members and i want to thank fellow westrake for hosting us here. as he mentioned the police commission does this once in a while and comes on for the different districts and it is a chance for the members to see

what happens with the police commission and more importantly give a voice to people, and allow people to come up to speak to let people know on the police commission what is going on in the district. i know that i have been in touch with a lot of you with the recent crime activities and i hope that this is a chance and i hope that you take the opportunities to let the police commission know what is going on in the neighborhood as i am in contact with them all of the time and the captain, who is the new captain for the police station who is a fellow born and raised san franciscoan, i think that this is an opportunity for everyone to speak but also to witness, kind of the process that goes on in the police commission, we are lucky to have the commissioners to serve us in the city and here in district two. thank you guys for being here. look forward to a great dialogue tonight, thank you. >> thank you, supervisorer ferrel. >> ladies and gentlemen we do is give the commissioners a chance to tell you about the day jobs and how we got here.

by way of background, we always meet at city hall but we have chosen on the last wednesday of the month to go to one of the communities represented by the ten district stations. the san francisco police department has ten stations, here in the northern district, as you heard. the captain is the new captain, but we go to the communitieses to hear from you what your concerns are. we are in charge of all policy and procedure with reference to the san francisco police department and our role is to hire and i have not had to do so far but fire the police chief because they are not responding to the community and our role is to be your liason everything from whether or not the police department should have tasers and whether or not we have fair and impartial policing. so there is a lot of issues that we deal with and also deal with disciplinary matters and we sit as a quasi, judicial body and we hear the hearings, and we have the director with

us today dr. hiks which is the office of citizen complaints. they investigate complaints regarding police officers and we also have management control from the police department that brings cases against the police officers, we hear those case and we make the final determination on their careers. and what type of discipline should be met out by the commission. so it is a busy job that we have and it is a great job where i guess you can consider it volunteers, but before we go any further, i am going to start to the right and have the commissioners tell you about how they got here and what they do in their day jobs, commissioner chan? >> good evening, my name is angela chan, i have been on the commission for three years, the community members are my favorite meetings of the month. i live in the inner sunset and a work as a day job in the caucuses and i manage the criminal justice reform program and i come to this area quite often to eat and shop and you have many great restaurants here and i am happy to be here

tonight and i look forward to hearing your concerns and your questions and make sure that we respond to any suggestions that you have. >> dr. marshal? >> dr. bill marshal. i have been on the commission eight years. i live in the 8, and my office is in the bay view, and i am the executive board. >> commissioner kinsly? >> i have been on the police commission for about two and a half years and i have lived in the city 20, 25 years. i would like to thank the captain tonight as well as the st. vincent paul school for hosting us and all of you in the community for turning out tonight, as smf the fellow commissioners stated, this is a highlight for us to be able to come out and talk to you. and mostly, listen to what you have to say to us.

my day job is as a mediator and i worked as a business lawyer for a few years and mediate the points and i have also served on and impart of the board of the executive committee of the law center to present the gun violence and i have been working on the gun violence prevention issues in the last 20 years, i raised my son in the city and my heart is in san francisco. and so thank you again for being here tonight. >> thank you. >> commissioner loftus? >> i love to get to hear the fellow commissioners talk about themselves and the love of the city and it is wonderful. i'm native san franciscoan also. i live in the sun se. my husband and i are raising our three daughters in the city i am a former prosecutor with the san francisco district attorney office. and one of fast vorite things to do is to get to be the

neighborhood prosecutor and so i am very familiar with the great community partnerships and the legacy of the chiefs who respect the community's ability to help to solve problems together and i think that is just really great about coming out to these meetings. for my day job, now, i, like dr. marshal, i work in the bay view for a non-profit for the center of youth wellness. where we are trying to improve the health of children who have been exposed to abuse in the home. and i encourage you, now is your time, sometimes we will hear issues that come up at community meetings and get followed up with the department and things change and since you have taken the time to be here tonight, we encourage you and we would forward to hearing what you have to say. >> i am tom mazzucco. and i was born is raised here at the marina district and i served mass here and i went to school here at st.

with us now supervisor london breed. who is part of the district to say a few words >> yes. >> i want to make sure that i say hello to the police commission and thank you for your service and i see many of my friends on this commission, the reason that i am here is because we are dealing with a tremendous amount of problems in the district five area, especially around the public housing developments. we are still dealing with issues of violent crime and we actually pay the housing authority, actually bays the police department an extra $1.3 million for additional services so i am constantly getting requests for folks
