problems with the shadows and i know there's still movements on this project to go forward. i expect we'll be engaged in that and the approval process moves forward. i also want to go some the comments on supervisor campos and i'll speak as an chicano american and someone whaets whose been a fan of the museum. i first came when i had the time i was often a visitor of the mexican museum and saw it as a great culture that was looking for in my lay off at that time. i know that people need that resource. the fact that the museum for a long time has struggled with the
9:31 pm
space issue and looking for a greater home i was very excited there was a solution to that project. i wouldn't necessarily support this type of a building when i know it's monthly housing that's being built and housing that doesn't meet the needs of san franciscans i'm willing to over look that that somewhat knowing they're pretty high and low fees for affordable housing off-site especially the mexican museum is part of this and i look forward to seeing the mexican museum being in a place where it trial can be in the middle of the jewish museum and the other

museum i think it's a significant place for it to be. i look forward in the process it being approved. i i want to have that in my comments >> thank you i'll make some final comments. i think overall my comments were targeted at eirs. and when you look at the high-end of the neighborhood we have more eirs coming up i'll be looking at the at the corridors. i know is one thing i like about the transit corridor i felt like

had more proposals for its litigation. i want to say i've worked with project sponsors who were more responsive and less responsive i do appreciate the sponsors have exhibited a high-level of issues around pedestrian safety and our main point of impact serves on the other developments in the area so they're a more of a stakeholder in the interest to make sure we might be for pedestrian safety i think that's why sequa is an important document. as well as the city we have to play a role in holding yourself be responsible for the growth. i know there is going to be a

study that will come by the building permit so we look forward to that and we're going to look forward to having that discussion as well as having discussions about potential that modifications and it's shadow been union square >> i wanted to add one thing that hadn't been said it's an amazing home for the mexican museum i know so many people have spoken today in support of. i agree with my colleagues in engaging the residents around the site and especially the seniors to address accident safety pedestrian issues on the crosswalk or whatever. i also want to thank so much the staff for the hard work on the

eir and for ms. burn for breaking down sequa law i know that's been a 6 hour meeting but i appreciate the answers to all the tough questions from my colleague supervisor kim but i'm totally in agreement with the traffic combing in the area a non item but thanks so much inform the staff for testifying >> any more comments? with that supervisor kim has made a motion to have a roll call vote >> roll call.

reform so we thought we'd get a referrals to a committee. we've done hearings with lawyers and also used the service. bill our president couldn't be here today but he said can you found out what happened to our original resolution. this is going to be an ongoing thing and the governor said he won't included imply illegal gnltsdz in his medi-cal program. we're going to need some support. we're going to noted nor support so we'd like to at some point have some of our matters referred to a committee for more

thorough discussion. my two minutes. jenny lamb was here but she had to leave and they're concerned about the comment the change in emphasis about anyone who needs focus to come to this on high skills and the high merit and the low wage earners comes way down on the list >> thank you. next speaker please. >> good evening i know this is an emotional issue but i think there's better ways of dealing with this problem. i believe that life begins at
9:39 pm
conception and we should be supportive of life it's the greatest gift. the mother delivers life and i believe our society should be hively supportive. once the child is born the child and a mother should think supported by the society and we should respect mothers. i have heard supervisor speak about rights and i believe an unborn baby has rights it's vicio viciously a terrible violation of human rights we all as people and society can be much better.

our humanity must be more humane. thank you all very much >> thank you any other members of the public that wish to speak in general comment? if not it's closed and colleagues could we have the adoption calendar >> is single roll call vote a maturate can be moved to dealt r with separately. >> i'd like to severe item 26 and 27. >> (taking roll to serve ).

i have a couple of southerners it has to do with the attacks on sugary drinks. we don't have healthy food options in the south they're very, very compromised. i see this as possibly a regressive tax on poor communities so i'd like to ask the sponsor of this to talk and walk us through this a little bit >> supervisor campos. >> let me make sure i put my diet coke away. colleagues any suggestion is we continue this item for a week to have the opportunity to have a meaningful conversation >> supervisor campos has made a
9:43 pm
motion to continue this for a week. >> call next item. >> mr. president, the item 25 will be continued to be for next week. and this is urging the united states senator to pass the comprehensive immigration reform a focus on family unification to creating a citizenship >> and is meeting continues president chiu. >> thank you very briefly we know as a body have passed many immigration reform this is immigration reform this is in front of the u.s. senate given the speed we very much hope we

can adopt this today. it doesn't address a number of issues particularly around employer visas and agricultural workers in a better way to lay the law enforcement and other witnesses to crimes. that being said as the inhabitation the immigration relevance commission states the counter legislation does a number of things that are quite proveng it eliminates visas to make it harder for families to petition for adult married children and especially for latino and aligning families and it continues the discrimination for the latinos community and we want to send a message to our
9:45 pm
federal representatives that while we do support comprehensive immigration reform we believe it should be done the right way and i ask for your support >> madam clerk can we take this. >> thank you for your comments i think one of the things that needs to be said is right now some of the legislation that's being proposed doesn't include the lgb families and the senate has not agreed to add that i think that's unfortunate. >> colleagues can we take this same house same call.
