this day for a very long time. to be standing here before you is an honor. thank you very much. good morning, my name is will, my partner is jimmy. we represent 800 post street or cafe royal. it has established itself as a one of a kind gathering place for artists, musicians and lower knobb hill. it's a throw back to a by gone area. it's a place for live entertainment and arts and provides a diverse calendar of events showcasing local

musicians, theater groups and other performance arts. we host fundraisers, wedding receptions, thanksgiving pot luck dinner for everyone in the neighborhood. we have live opera in the bar and some of the best jazz band and rhythm sections from all around the bay area. and every one of our events is free to the public. we are the only place in the neighborhood offering these types of events and they're catered specifically to the people who are able to walk to our bar. the four of us could not be any prouder of the reputation our establishment has earned as a second tome to some of the city's most interesting part-time. we understand our responsibilities in the neighborhood in providing a safe and welcoming

atmosphere. [inaudible]. we are residents of this neighborhood ourselves /-fp three of the four of us live within three blocks of this bar and we share the same concerns as the neighbors for the overall well being of this community. a safe and watchful eye over a dark intersection. we've gone to great lengths for folks to /epbl joy a /tp*eurls date, meet with friends or enjoy a show. we feature local and smaller breweries from around the bay area and work with nearby businesses to bring kitchens to the bar weekly. we're trying the showcase the talents of local businesses. we serve bar bites and after

recent advising by the alu we have expanded or menu and options for service to provide service later in the evening. we hope with the expansion of our new license we will be able to keep up with this bar bites. the neighborhood has 'em /pwraeulsed this bar as its own. patrons have expressed an overwhelming show of support in response to this license transfer. we would like to ensure that we're able to provide the highest quality entertainment possible. we are the only /srepbl ewe of our kind in our neighborhood and we are the polar opposite of a

nightclub. since the four of us assumed ownership we are performed extensive outreach to our community to /tkpwaeupbl their trust and support. we've held two meet and greet nights to give the community the opportunity to come in and introduce themselves and us to do the same. we like people to come in and voice their concerns about the transfer of this license and we've successfully rescinded 13 of them by explaining our commitment to providing the safest possible atmosphere to our street corner. also, the

support of 30 neighboring businesses within two blocks of our bar. we have acquired a personal letter of support from the only student dormitory within 500 feet of our door at 761 post street and we've confirmed that the building has been sold and will be converted into a marriott property starting in july. so with that they will be taking the only student housing within two blocks of the bar and with that the next nearest hard liquor license from the bar big, that was down the street from us. we've installed security video cameras to monitor and record activity. we've soundproofed our walls and seen a number of noise complaints cut in half over the past year. we hope to convey is that we as /rez

residents of this neighborhood understand and care very deeply to provide a positive environment in our community. this establishment is unique to so many kinds of people that make i want a second home. we hope our spotless record with the board of health,police and fire departments [inaudible] better serve the needs of the people who keep our bar what it is today -- a hub for the arts, a safe and welcoming light on in an other wise dark intersection. we aim to serve the residents of lower knob hill for years to come. if

[inaudible] information. this premises is located in plot 542. it has [inaudible] high crime areas defined by [inaudible] police report in the plot so the applicant premises is located in a high crime area.
