this location. this is the entry you see off to the right which is i was trying to identify from the interior, where you can see in the plaza into the bowl of the arena. this is towards the back of reds. this is not quite eye level -- probably around 10 or 15 feet tall, but identifies the zones i've talked about. something i haven't touched too much on yet is the retale /spaeuls providing of course south /erpbl exposure to the retail space so it with open up to the south /erpbl plaza and the second floor having some exterior space. you see in that same view -- this is that same view, you just crop and zoom. what's interesting here is that ramp going up the side of the arena. you see we
8:31 pm
8:34 pm
similar view-so that was from the north locking south, this is from the south looking north. you see reds in its new lo /kag. you can open [inaudible] as well as providing some exterior /stpaeus on the second floor of the retail in that location. you see sort of in the background the arena on that transparent moment of the arena sort of -- you can be led /raoegt up to that through this sort of palm grove and through the grand staircase. so this is interesting, thinking about the scale of the retail, we
8:35 pm
wanted to figure out a way of relating the scale of the arena to a /tphoepbl structure. so the closest thing we came up with was the at&t ballpark. so the next couple of viewpoints i'm gonna show is from the same distance standing on the street with a camera trying to get a sense of scale. looking across the embarcadero, this is basically standing in the middle of our lot. this is what you see /-fp because the arena is pushed all the way to the east to the water, it has a very low profile. it's almost hidden by retail, which is between 35 and 55 feet. the roof is sloping so it's changing as you go. so this is what you see /-fp it's open, has a /tphaoeuls [inaudible] feel to it. i mentioned the
8:36 pm
relationship to /kp*esing structures and that was extending that same /tkeuls /tapbs. this is a photograph that we applied to a 3 d model which represents at&t park. so here because the park is right on the edge of the embarcadero it appears to be much taller. /t-ls obviously naturally a little bit taller, but not by so much because of the perspective it seems bigger than it is. so this is what happens when you overlay it so that data there of at /t*rbg -- that first band of lighter stone is in the neighborhood of about the plus 55 foot level in comparison to our retail. then you can see our arena in the background. this perspective makes it appear much smaller and less of a presence on the embarcadero and the neighborhood. going down -- very close to the end now -- this is a good opportunity to jump across the street to the
8:37 pm
seawall lot 330 and talk a little bit more about it. so you can see here we've talked about the 175 foot of the condo, which is the building on the left and the hotel on the right. i already spoke about the main street passage and the transparency of the bridge piece so you get that nice view. you can see we're also being very sensitive to the podium height so that's currently 45 feet tall and we're respecting that height so our podium does not go above the 40 foot level. these color

we can on the site to promote action in a lot of ways, not only around the presumptive /ter of the pier, but at different levels. mark /-rs markets, jogging, bicycling, walking. then this is just thinking a little bit about the vehicular situation. right now there's two curb cuts on pier 30, 32 and we've focused all of our energy on that northwestern corner, which is really the only major intersection so this would be the in and out for loading and for cars and people that are parking there. that's the in and out for the fire truck for the fire house also. ten i already mentioned a little bit storm water vat /skwreus. we're very sensitive to issues so
8:40 pm
we're working to achieve the highest level of leed, which is gold, but we're working to /aeu /khao*e that and it will be achieved. we will energy efficiency. there's an [inaudible] proximity to [inaudible]ca l, bell /traeupbl . that pretty much closes the presentation. >> thank you. we are now ready
8:41 pm
for public comment. first up, patrick, after that ramona. >> i'm in there, ariel kelly. >> we'll take you. >> we'll let you take patrick's spot, but just recognize that a lot of people have been sitting here all afternoon also trying to get in the queue. >> i appreciate that. my name is ariel kelly and i'm here to speak about the proposed warrior's water front arena. i

think all of /uls can identify with support and /sepbls of community that the giants presence in san francisco has brought to our communality, not to mention the amount of attention that has been brought to the port when the giants are on tv. a /t*rbgt park has /kraoe /kwraeted a gaitway for /thourbgs of people to the water front and a reason for thousands of people to visit the port and water front who wouldn't normally have a reason to come down here. i think that's what this arena will do. there's been a lot of talk lately about the transportation issues surrounding having an arena at these piers. i worked on [inaudible] no doubt that the plans for the new arena will be robust and thorough. i want to mention that this arena has about 17 thousand seats,

brightline defense. we really support this project because of the unprecedented local hire comment /-pt >> my name is kevin carol, i'm the executive director of the hotel council. the hotel council fully supports this program to bring the arena to the water front. looking at the amount of economic 'em pack, what that will bring to the city, not to mention being able to market an incredible addition to our water front. i want to thank the commission and port for the work that's been done on the officialerman's warf, the promenade down there and this
8:45 pm
work happening for pier 30, 32. i want to remind you that this will be good for hotels. when people come to this city for a concert or games, they're staying in hotels. people spend /stwaoeuls /twao*eus as much money outside of hotels as they do inside. that helps small businesses and other businesses throughout the city. we think adding something like this that will help market san francisco continually to the would so that the world class water front and this will be a world class addition to that water front. thank you very much. /tkpwhr thank you. >> thank you. okay. >> gym, chamber of commerce,

alliance for jobs -- supporting this project, warriors on the water front. this is a great opportunity and i they you and you the maritime uses of san francisco have hanged. i've been around long enough in the mayor's office to remember when this pier burnt down and long into the 19 /# 0s and since that time you've been struggling to find an appropriate use to maintain this important deep water facility. we've spend a lot of
8:47 pm
time looking at an as recently as three or four years ago the chamber worked with some local workers thinking that construction costs had dropped low enough to make that office facility feasible at this pier and it wasn't. and it /serpblly isn't today. that approved project is not going to get built, but this project, with such tremendous public amenities -- 365 day a year pub /hreublg park covering half the acreage of this peer continued maritime use on the east /tpaeuls for cruise ships for visiting naval vessels and other ceremonial [inaudible] we look forward to working with you over the next six or eight months to move this project to

finalal approval. thank you /*fpl . >> thank you. >> members of the commission, i would like to defer my time to one of the wisest ladies of this water front, ellen, who's also the chair of your maritime advisory committee and she will speak. >> she has her own card and we don't defer time. so few yo're /pasing, /phraoetz wait to be called. >> that's what's fair to all the other people. we only go by the names that are called. it's what's fair to everybody else. then we -- i did call somebody. john ring is not here. okay.
8:49 pm
>> madam chair, members of the commission and also the director, thank you for the opportunity to talk about in support of the warrior's arena. and i'd also like to acknowledge murphy, who i served for four years on the building commission and rightfully so, thank you for having the wherewithal to also /eupbl collude him in all the decision making. the impacts of warrior's arena is going to be huge. the category of economic, cultural and social benefits are of a magnitude that is far greater than what it is now, which is nothing. the category of economic scale,
8:50 pm
the benefits of jobs that be /kraoe /kwraeted by the arena and the long term benefits by the ongoing labor and operations that will provide the revenue stream for both the port and all that's involved. on the cultural side, not only on the sports venue, but on the category of events that will enliven both the neighborhood and also the water front. i speak are the social side of having been a member of the dolphin club -- i'm a lifetime member and the category of water front activity is terrific. the opportunity here is the combination of the arena green and marina park. the combination of those two with the wonderful and more /supblny con /tkegss and less /weupbl /tkeu on the south bay is going to be great. all told, all
8:51 pm
these benefits are just going to /pwhros sol as a result of both the architectural and decisions being made by you, categoried by which those decisions are going to be impactful, not only on the neighborhood, but the long term category of providing an entertainment value and social value to the nine counties that can converge on to this location. the time and place that this arena will bring a new realm of both entertainment and cultural values, both on a cultural and economic scale and i'm in full support of this arena. thank you. >> thank you. good afternoon,

my name is korin woods. i severable on serve on the arena cac and with ron miguel we cochair the land use design of that cac. in your packet today you heard that we're going to be having a full cac meeting in june and the land use committee is meeting later to start digging into this design. it's pretty pictures, but we want to look at how it's going to operate and whether it's going to be working for the city, the port and the neighborhoods. and i would encourage any of you that can to come and hear what the community thinks about this be design when we have a chance to
8:53 pm
really get into detail. thank you. >> thank you. >> my name's garett law and i live in south beach neighborhood there. this is amazing and makes a statement, but i guess i've lived in south beach for about /tepbl years now amend ten years ago we needed a statement and so we got sf giants. it lands with the neighborhood, you got brick and brick and it all goes together. this is a peck tack /hrar concept. i don't see how it integrates into the neighborhood. we've got -- years ago there weren't a lot of people. there were empty buildings there and now the neighborhood's forming up, we've got tech workers there, academy of arts has a college
8:54 pm
there so we've got people interacting on a daily basis. i think they're talking 17, 18 thousand people, 200 days a year into the neighborhood seems like an awful lot of people to me in addition to what we've already got. then you've got this venue, then the giant's venue at 42 thousand, then on the other side of the creek you've got another one at another 167 thousand so you're talking about increasing the traffic and the flow of people through the neighborhood from somewhere to 7 thousand to 65 thousand a day most days of the year. i think there's gonna be a huge impact on our neighborhood, being a neighborhood, by putting this
8:55 pm
there and i think i'm the one guy not in favor of it tonight, but i think it's too much for the neighborhood. it's beautiful, but i just -- that location as a neighbor -- i'd like you to consider something else. /th*pbg you. >> /tpha*pbg you. >> and after ellen, [inaudible]. >> commissioners, my name is ellen. i'm here on behalf of the maritime commerce advisory committee of the port, along with myself, i'm representing the cochair of the committee and she is head of the director of the inland boatman's unit. we are here to bring you the ideas of the maritime commerce advisory committee and this is the port's committee which the

members include representatives of car /tkpwo*e shipping users, cargo ware housing, harbor services and other maritime cargo and industrial users. i want to say overall i'll /-pl really pleased with the progress that has been made on this design to incorporate and the inclusion in the operation design for deep draft birth. just one further point on that, i do -- /twoubl helpful to see -- i think jennifer and team are going to be making a presentation to the maritime committee on thursday to show the committee this design. the

box is checked, but we /sr-pblt seen the dimensions. there needs to be more work on how the maritime use and the operations of the birthing of the [inaudible] will be incorporated into the design so we'll be interest eded in seeing that -- some more detail work on that. so secondarily we were pleased to hear mention of a ferry birth because this is just in the last few months, the maritime commerce committee has said what can we do to support maritime in this design. we have acceptability a letter to the port and we've handed copies of it here to you today talking about we'd like the team to consider a study working with the water emergency transit authority to consider the ferry birth. and
8:58 pm
i saw it there, then we're even further pleased. we think the design is coming a great way for a win win /weupbl for the community and the port and the continued support and public trust on this pier. thank you. >> thank you. >> thank you. i'm dennis. i each in the san francisco public high schools. as you can't to refine and re/spopbld to the orders updated arena project, i have been over the last year sharing my proposal with the warriors and san francisco officials to include within the original design and construction within this arena, a high school college career
