tragic and sad event, it was just so pitch-perfect for an elementary school the entire school community was in the cafeteria, most everybody was wearing purple because that was her favorite color, all of the classrooms did art projects in their own way to remember mckayla and to honor her and the students spoke about things that they remembered about their friend and classmate, teachers spoke, and her mother spoke and her father spoke, remembering her and thanking the school community for really being a safe place for her. and for a parent of a child with a severe and profound disability, i can't... i can't think of any greater gift to know that when you send your child to a school every day that that school is loved.

and celebrated and appreciated. and that is what... the gift that sunset gave mckayla and her family, and so i just want to on my behalf and on behalf of the board to express my sadness to the lynch family and to her father mike and her mom berry and her younger brother ryan and thank the sunset community for just being such an incredible support to that family. both when she was missing and the teachers went up to clear lake on their own and dropped everything, and went up to search for her. and you could tell at the memorial just how much they had pulled together and supported each other and i am tremendously grateful for them and thank the principal for founding that. and so on that, the meeting adjourned.xx÷x
