this morning i went to lori's diner at 3:00 a.m., and i was able to get food. so they shouldn't have their doors open at 3:00 in the morning, serving food at 500 sutter street. this is the receipt, everybody has a copy of the receipt in front of them. then comes the issue of their signage. this is again at 500 sutter.
12:56 pm
you can see that it says "24-hours." if we're going to play fair with other applicants when we had that with nana curry, we asked them to black out the "24-hours," until they have had the ability to do 24-hours and that shouldn't have been here and the other location at mason says 24 hours and again on their signage. again, not playing fair. i mean, if you don't have a permit, you should not be saying you are open 24 hours. this morning, again at 3:00, both locations were open after 12:00. i didn't want to have to go and eat twice, so i only went to one. so there is the signage. community outreach, i met with the owner, and the ceo in may
12:57 pm
and asked them to come to our may 14th community meeting and they agreed to do so, but they failed to show up. no phone call, no reason why, and they did not show up. they were put on the agenda, we are outreach went over to 4,000 people and we thought they were going to show up. there was no reason why they couldn't show up, because we weren't told they weren't showing up. i just talked to the owner before, this meeting and he says he is willing to possibly show up to our next meeting on june 11th. but, you know, i mean, if he gets his permit tonight, then why does he need to show up? and this has happened before, where after they get their permit, they don't show up. so we're asking for a continuance of this item, until he does what all the other applicants have done, that have been
12:58 pm
before you. they shouldn't be operating 24-hours, if they don't have the ability to operate 24-hours. they should have their sign blacked out until they have the ability to do so, because they are defrauding or whatever and they need to do their community outreach and we would like them to attend this meeting and hopefully that will be the next meeting that they can attend. >> thank you. next person. >> hello. my name is susan brian. i am the treasurer of alliance for better district 6. i just want to say i am a day person, so at 3:00 a.m., i would not be awake. but i understand about night people, because i have some good friends who are. they always said there should
12:59 pm
always be folks at night, so nobody steals the planet. i believe it's important for these people to have food, whether they are working or playing, and that they have amenities. i just wish that they had done outreach and i ask for a continuation for lori's diner to do outreach to the community, because the community isn't all business owners. the community is retired people. it's disabled people in our district. and they would probably much appreciate outreach by lori's. we see it and it looks like the '50s all over again. i know not everybody in this room lived through the '50s, but you know, to tell you the truth, the '50s weren't that clean. so i appreciate this

homage to the '50s. thank you very much. >> thank you very much. >> good evening commissioners, my name is john knulty and i'm here representing and co-founder of the association of san francisco and i would like the overhead please. here is the signage for the permit for -- this is the one on sutter and this is going up powell. so a person walking up or down the street, this is your permit way up here on the third window. i don't consider that even the front of the building. i don't consider that a proper place to place your entertainment permit for a venue. then
