was a multiple culture school a lot of white students doesn't know a lot of the black history from 1985 to 2003. the history book was excellent when i taught on black history. i said why don't you go to marcus bookstore there's a wealth of information you can find all types of stories of present-day authenticity. and my students white and asian went to marcus bookstore and said teacher i didn't know there was so much information about black people here in america. and they showed me the books they bought and i want to say

supervisors look at this situation and do what they can to encourage the spectaculars to sell the building back. >> thank you. next speaker, please i'd like to thank the board for supporting the resolution. i'm appreciative of supporting the black community as a whole. i know you all have seen a lot of me. but marcus books has been a part of my life and i went to school with colleagues. so for me, you, you know, marcus books has been a place to get out of the madness and karen also has a message or a book that can relate to anybody.
12:04 am
i remembered going to marcus books about two months ago. and i said who would the life be like without marcus books then i heard it's going to be gotten rid of. i i know that's the corporate interests. i'd like to say i hope the city helps out. we have a $8 million budget so i think they want to sell the bookstore for 3 million so that's 1.5 million and that's chicken feed to 8 hundred million and thank you all thait >> good evening supervisors.
12:05 am
opinion this items should have been solved a long time ago. there's a few facts somehow the mayor's office and the board of supervisors found the sources to save the gay center ton market street. somehow the mayor's office and the board of supervisors get the resources for the infamous america's he cup and now the city has the resources to try to snatch the golden state warriors from one city to the other. if you have the resources and abilities to do those 3 promotions one simple bookstore should have been done a long time. and i'll offer you a friendly reminded just in case everyone
12:06 am

>> stop the friends of the library. every year the friends of the library is required to file a report. the report covering the year ending june 2012 that was required by state statue to be filed is now finally available. and we now know that in the 12 years that the friends have been raising funds the friends of the library had income of 44.8 million. during that same period the friends of the library extended over 4 had the and 50 millions. what is most interesting is that the friends of the library x'd alone made 3 hundred thousands
12:13 am
of that and executive salaries were 6 hundred and 32 thousands nearly 3 times the donations to the library. they think because they put the money in their pocket the friends and you are in the same office. what you get for keeping our eyes tlosz closed is a tiny rip off. note especially damage to the faith of our citizens and the good well, that holds our communities together. david chiu having me arrested doesn't have any effect. in fact, what you've seen here are the original documents first year don't see you have a nice vacation

12:15 am
review use permits for the stations has been open. but we'ven trying for 34 months to get at&t proposed installation and even though their staff said they'll provided answers they haven't this is maybe because they want to remain highly. also, they started the installation and that's been granted we can't help be believe that the at&t believes they're to go ahead without a permit. incidentally they've been sighed. and there's nothing clear about
12:16 am
this and we urge the board of supervisors to add something thirty to their agenda before the work cabins >> thank you. >> thank you. next speaker, please. >> ladies and gentlemen of the audience and supervisors thank you for letting me speak for the second time this evening. for this speech are two major items for the taxi industry. under the mta we have degender under pure chaos. we had protection from the
12:17 am
police today their proliferating at a rate that seems to be some phenomena on a friday or saturday night i watched 7 city cabs pick up folks at will. in under the mta we've degenerated into a black hole. while we pay medical expenses and we have none all. we only pay. we pay more parking tickets in this city. i think it runs into the millions. the department of transportation or the muni are the police department or the fire department can allow to park anywhere. we get ticket for parking anywhere which is totally
12:18 am
absurd. we're supposed to be part of the city transportation system. i bring this is to because you better get mar lee to work on this to having phone call being picked up. and our income has gone to 1980. thank you for your time and this issue >> greeting supervisors. i'm a classic come important i've been working in san francisco since about 1980. earning my living in the arts until i began driving a cab. the situation with the taxi
12:19 am
industry is beyond a crisis level. it's a free-for-all and it's distressing we're having to fight tooth and nail like a child in a room of rates. we're having to fight tooth and nail to get even though simplistic things. please don't allow this to take up. we're - your about her is not a proper take organizations. their allowed only to pickup by appointment. that's when telephones didn't have answering devises on them
12:20 am
and their refusing to pick up by appointment. so all of the jurisdictional questions are absurd. dispatch is at an all-time confusing low. the smaller companies urging citywide have people that don't know the taxi destroy. i was 3 minutes into an order when i sent it on which is a completely reasonable thing to do and they logged me off for 5 hours >> thank you. thank you. next speaker. >> good evening supervisors i'm douglas. for the record i would like to remind the moore's and the board of supervisors that their should be no, trefrgs and no one had
12:21 am
face interference since there's a federal investigation in progress now for the airlines. and secondly why does the mayor's office and the board of supervisors still refuse to look into how much child porn has passed through the computer of the departments of the city and county of san francisco. keep doing nothing and eventually you'll be put to shame and you'll know where the shame is coming from that were and thirdly underage prostitution to staff for the
12:22 am
san francisco bay area. for the record no underage girls no pimples were arrested in the 71 of san francisco. i'm sure the fbi would love to ask san francisco officials why the other jurisdictions made arrests for pimps and prostitution i'd like on explanation for that and i'd like to remind everybody that sooner or later justice comes. the justice comes hopefully await a subpoena.

12:26 am
their backs. the people ignore me then continue to stare ahead as if i'm not there. the people see me then they fix their hair or tie their shoes. the people follow me and follow me. the cars moll follow we and follow me. the people emit strange subsidies from their body and act as if nothing is happening. the people put their hands in their pocket or a pinch or something comes into my heels or whatever. the people wake me when i sleep. they rape me.
12:27 am
the people presented that is about the people in this city. >> hello i appreciate the opportunity to speak once again. i was an of the department of health. i respond to homicides. to the same as well as to the emergency room. i was watching an energy conference call and i heard bobby rush call for a day of non-violation in the black community for august 28th to coincide with the 50 anniversary
