the public. i want to say thank you very much for allowing me to work on this issue. i had an opportunity to talk about this item. it's been clear that despite the desire of many neighbors it's not possible to have a meaningful discussion about the shelter. you've received a copy of the amendments. the amendments are the result of concern race - raised by neighbors. the first amendment is to clarify that the city has a sunset rezoning and seeing that the shelter is within half a mile of a of sex offenders from

staying at the shelter. an advisory committee to help implement security shelters and restraining order provide the board with a shelter operations within one year. it's my understanding that the mayor's office is supportive of those amendments. while i've had a tremendous and - have had a tremendous amount of respect for mother brown's kitchen this issue this item is completely separate. i don't share all the concerns articulated by the community but i still have a number of concerns that have not been revolved. i believe if the proposal would be in any part of the city there would be 1i7b9 more robust

conversation around around this year i think we should be having a citywide conversation about where our homeless folks are living and provide benefits for all folks. unfortunately, that conversation is not able to happen and it deserves an evaluation of the exiting services across the entire city with an open cycle. unfortunately awhile we have not been able to support this i building those amendments are necessary for this item to move forward. so mr. president, i'd like to make a motion to adapt the amendments >> verify cohn has seconded it.

supervisor cowen >> supervisor kim wants separate votes. i propose we take 3 separate amendments on page 2 around zoning and a separate vote own the whereas clause related to the state law regulations and the third amendment would be on all the remaining further resolved includes if that makes sense. >> my apologizes i only saw the two whereas clauses there should be the 3 motions. one is lines 1 through 8 and fourteen through 22. i apologize i didn't see the further revolve. i wanted to comment on my issue

with the where was your clause on 8 through 11. i understand their endorsed i'm worried there will be some confusion there's some responsibility to do some prescreening on the sex offenders. unless we specifically put into the clause we're not asking the agency to do the prescreening, however, i don't want to waste time i'm comfortable with voting against this clause >> supervisor campos. i said to say she doesn't enforce the state law without express he request that's itself reason why it's where i live in this particular document >> supervisor campos.

i'm definitely sensitive inform the issue. i think we have to get to the bottom of how we address the issue at hand. if we're not enforcing the state law i don't know if adding the language which is not the agency responsible for enforcement didn't do anything. i will be concerned to make sure we're preventing kids from sex offenders but the agency responsible for enforcing the law do that. i think i don't know if someone from did you want probation here but if that's the issue i want

to really do whatever we can to maximize the protection but asking a department that doesn't have that qualifications or responsibility doesn't solve the problem. i really want to get to how do we solve the issue that was raised >> any further discussion. supervisor wiener >> just to clarify as i understand this resolution does one thing optional whether we accept the grant. in terms of the sex offender provision the law is what it is. i don't think that changes anything about the laws can i get configuration on what i said >> that is - >> from our >> your understanding is correct and accurate.
