concerned about affordable housing, and there was a conditional use appeal of larkin that they voted to change as an emergency measure and they decided to -- the fact that the project for [inaudible] instead of the tndc project which we pontbacker wanted and we felt it was the best sites for senior housing which would have put in 56 units of fixed housing, which could have provided community facilities for a neighborhood that has no community center, no senior seiner, no library or police station with a public room, no place for social activities whatsoever. we used to do it in that charge. we couldn't get your attention when we were trying to file the appeal. it's a neighborhood where you would never baibltd get 20% of the neighborhoods because it is a neighborhood of chinese

family properties, most of them don't live there and many of them just don't get involved and the ones that did get involved, one of them sent me a list of the supervisors she wanted me to contact to have the five sponsors, she said these would be people who westbound sympathetic to seniors and minorities and she felt campos and kim and mar and cohen and yee and she forgot avalos, and then there were the three at least who grew up here and whose wonderful schools were beaten by washington pretty often and there's supervisor wiener would's concerned about efficiency units and in this case we would have double density studios or one bedrooms and 30% of the buildings were not going to be used for cars, for 60 thousand dollars to a neighborhood association, that was the alternative.

what happened. and with that, i'm happy to report that last friday, the america's cup event authority issued a check to the office of labor standard enforcement of 404 thousand dollars to be paid to the workers that performed the work at phase 1 of the america's cup. that is a significant amount, that is like an early merry christmas to the workers because time and time again, it's all about the workers and even the workers behind me. that was a huge success and it finally happened. and i do want to thank the office of labor standard enforcement, donna le v*it, mary berzoto, that was information provided by carp there's local 22, but i want to

thank this board for standing behind them, but also standing with san francisco residents of job opportunities here in san francisco, but most of all, i want to thank supervisor bulldog avalos who's very vocal on the workers, in support of the workers time and time again and thank you supervisor, and thank you all and i wish you all a happy thanksgiving and don't eat

support these workers? >> right now, what we're asking for is elected leaders and other civic leaders to endorse the boycott of center plate and food and beverage at the ballpark. >> i have a question. >> supervisor cohen? >> thank you. so, what i heard from a lot of the workers, boycott, to me, that means if i'm at the ballpark, don't buy food, it's as simple as that? >> it's that simple but there's a lofted of eventess, a big part of center plate's income comes from catering events, and so they have all kinds of events, you know, not just during the games but during the off season and when the games aren't being played, so we're asking people to boycott those catered events as well. >> this also includes candle stick? >> no, we're not boy contending

-- boycotting the food at candle stick. >> center plate is also -- the contracts with candle stick, it would be contracted within the new stadium, so in my opinion, if we're looking at a larger issue about workers, we're talking about, yes, they may not be in the city and county of san francisco but maybe going down to santa clara county. >> they've been rewarded with that, but there is a responsibility, absolutely, for center plate to do this but we think that the responsibility goes beyond that because these are jobs that unfortunately are very low wage and it's not only center plate that is ignoring the responsibilities we're focusing on, the giants won two world series in four years and our members have not had a wage increase in four years during
