suggested we all come together and build our part and build right around this and get in on the investment and our residents that have been here, they know it could have slipped the other way. esther is going to remind me and i have a meeting with her. i promise another meeting and there are others in the community that help us and if they don't and if they are not done right, if they are not done with community we are not about that. we are about building strength of our neighborhood. our neighborhood has been about neighborhood strength. our city is about neighborhoods. it's not been about all downtown and all that success. we use those revenues to build strong neighborhoods and so we can

withstand both good and back economic times. this is the story that i think as mayor i want to be not only head of, but be known for. so, again, i thank our arts commission, i thank all the partnerships that were helping to develop this area. i think all of the partners that are coming together to refresh and redesign and help with this sensitive building but one that we value and it will be at the heart of all the different businesses that were attracting along the street corridor. this is a strong neighborhood. we are reinvesting in it. people feel that it's changing. it not all about mid-market. it's about third street, about every major corridor in our city getting the right attention through the programs that we are creating. i want to thank all the city departments

working with us. i just named a few, but there are many that are working with our strong corridors and will be part of our economic success and not be left alone for others to say that we want to go in a different direction. thank you all for being part of this. it's not about preservation. it's about economic development going forward with all of our developing partners. thank you for being here on this wonderful occasion. out next march 20th. supervisor malia cohn has been a great supporter of this bayview house project. two additional years to carry it forward and making connection with the partners of the office of workforce development and recognizing the economic development that can be here with the arts in san francisco. it's my pleasure to introduce supervisor malia cohn. [ applause ] >>supervisor malia cohen: good morning everyone. thank you for braving a chilly morning. today is another historic day in the bayview community. within 30 days this community will have four ground breaking

events. you can applause. i agree. [ applause ] >> and not only are we having four ground breaking events but we are also creating opportunities that will serve and revitalize our community. just to recap you are thinking what are those four events? we have bayview rise. many of you might have been at the george ground breaking ceremony and hunters view and here today the bayview hunters point, the opera house, the renovation. today we have another bayview contract or, come quest construction located on toll land avenue. remember we talked about the social compact of the community that there was room for everyone and contractors are going to

be working. me and other department heads as well as other community partners are living up to that promise. i think it's critical when you think about the overall narrative within the bayview community. >> today it influences the experience of walking, shopping and eating along our beautiful third street corridor and impacts our youth and families by providing access to the arts right here in the neighborhood. i see we have the executive director kimberly hayes from the african american complex and excited to look to the if you the to forge a relationship with the african american arts and culture complex and developing this relationship for arts, education outreach and more importantly a relationship that will teach the culture of particularly the african american

community. by supporting this renovation today, we recognize that not only that the building and the property, but also the significant role that this building has had and plays in establishing in a healthy individual in this neighborhood. i don't know if you know, my personal story is i took west african lessons here with betty gamma bow a. this is very personal for me and my younger city. this is why i made sure to fund the successful third on third program. i'm going to continue to advocate for the role that arts play and continue to support the bayview hunters point foundation. to barbara, where is barbara? there you are. when i was listening to the mayor's remark, all i can hear is kaching and all of

sounds is there is money for the opera house, right, mr. mayor? okay. i want to take this moment to acknowledge our wonderful mayor ed lee. this is a man who has walked and talked an are congruent with each other. mr. decaneey this you so much for being a director of a progressive forward thinking arts institution. and to the city family, thank you for understanding the significance of this building and more importantly the role it plays in the community. i want to acknowledge an amazing woman who has provided leadership to the community. she has afforded blood sweat and tears and this is ms. barbara --

nancy pelosi". >> this is no understatement. i have come into my role 2 years ago and this project was well under way and for a number of years of planning and city participation in making these resources happen. many people i need to thank and reiterate some of the city's department to help this together. the mayor and all of our cultural centers. thank you so much. the mayor's office of economic and workforce development for recognizing this as a hub for culture and economic flourishing for the bayview. to the office of community investment and innovation for your support over the years and recognizing this as a key of redevelopment opportunity for the city. to our partners at the city library. herrera for your partnership and programming and supporting the

arts commission. to the public utilities commission for recognizing this as a great investment but in the bayview in general and supporting the arts commission. thank you for your support. and now to some of our development partners that have helped bring this project forward which i think is an incredible design that builds on this historic landmark in the bayview and it's preparing it for the years to come. great honor to recognize some of those people that have helped make it happen. i want to recognize the leadership of debra, our project manager. she couldn't be here today. debra has been a came poison -- champion working with all of our partners and a great design creating a bold and sophisticated and community based design. walter spent many afternoons talking to many to what they wanted to

today. i have a report on the archaeology find on the construction site and a report on our partnering efforts my colleague will report the financial reports >> good afternoon director sarah those are your standard quarterly financial reports through the first two quarters of the fiscal year we're within budget of 31 percent of expenditures and revenues through the first two quarters the second reports is the status of kraktsdz and show you dbi and f b e fist we're at the $131 million no pavement to the fte contractors and the third is the earnings report as noted we

construction with the transbay. another good month. we are at the 9 hundred and 88 craft hours since we started the transit center work there were 23 additional hours so this you puts you us over the million hour mark. next month. another big success was the completion of the micro pile work we put in 2 thousand mike piles and we should get through the tests by that mid-april. there it is. there was one additional reportedable incident this period as well as the one we reported in early february that gentleman who had the stitches and fell from the proofrm

returned to work and another gentleman get stitches is he is back at work. a big knowing change on the site is moving from working from the lowest level to put in the shoring and formwork for the concourse level slab at the central and west zones. we're continuing the bracing removal and the concrete krumz and ready for the next slab pour later this month early april as we continue that process through the sum. the big milestone we did 2 thousand mike piles this was to hold down the pressure we averaged 29 thousand pipes a week and so far we've had no

failures. just the overview if the picture were bigger you could see the beginning the platform going on for the concourse pour. the overview overall picture we share with you regularly is in the west central and east zones and again, the excavation was completed the mike piles are completed and work is processing from west to east. the overall timeline which has not changed and expect that direction date of midsummer to hold. some of the other milestones on the project we've been tracking the excavation is the next big
